Subject: Together we Can Stop Environmental Pressure Groups from Killing Jobs and Prosperity!

Taking on the powerful Green movement is no small task. The Environmentalists are well-funded, have power and influence with the current Administration and their supporters can be fanatical when it comes to their opposition to harvesting the abundant resources within the United States.

Yes, we all want pristine landscapes, plush forests and clean, clear streams. But we also see that the increasing costs of gas, oil and electricity is breaking the back of the middle class. We all understand the need to be responsible in the manner in which we retrieve the natural resources that we have in abundance in the United States, understanding that our modern life-style requires the use of those resources if we are to survive. We can have the use of those resources without damaging our beautiful Earth!

Unfortunately, we are being prevented from harvesting these resources through the abuse of regulations by ‘green’ activists groups like ‘Stop the Drill’ and ‘No Dirty Gold’.

Oddly, the environmental concerns and activism of these groups seems to stop at the borders of the United States while other countries are given funds to mine and drill as well as promises the minerals they retrieve from the Earth will be bought by the citizens of the United States.

The Environmentalists have by-passed any semblance of commonsense in order to promote their causes costing Americans jobs and prosperity.

What can we do??

Competitive Enterprise Institute logo

Washington, DC, June 17, 2011 – The Competitive Enterprise Institute’s Center for Energy and Environment this week launches Resourceful Earth, a new project that will oppose political barriers to natural resource production. Resourceful Earth will take on campaigns by well-funded environmental pressure groups that abuse federal and state regulations and pursue endless lawsuits to block or hinder hardrock mines, coal mines, oil and gas drilling, timber production, farming, and ranching.

CEI’s new grassroots activist website, ResourcefulEarth.org, will educate and empower Americans to promote access to natural resources and oppose special interests that abuse the regulatory process to block new projects. The first two campaigns targeted by Resourceful Earth will be Earthworks’ No Dirty Gold, which opposes gold mining, and Oceana’s Stop the Drill, which opposes offshore oil.

Government Motors’ Eco-Math

by Bunk Five Hawks X ( 116 Comments › )

[The following was reposted in its entirety from Soylent Green with permission.]

These Eco-bullshitters are just amazingly dishonest. The fact that it involves the Green cabal at GovernmentMotors just makes pure, unadulterated Theft:

General Motors broke ground Wednesday on a six-acre field of solar panels in front of its Detroit-Hamtramck plant as part of an effort to green the production of its Chevrolet Volt…DTE will lower GM’s energy bill because of the solar panels, which were first reported by the Free Press, saving about $15,000 a year. (Bold mine–we’ll come back to that.)

Money Quote: “This isn’t only going green for green’s sake,” said Bob Ferguson, GM’s vice president of global public policy. “This is about reducing this plant’s environmental footprint and reducing our bottom line.”

Really, Bob?  Let’s do some Mother Fucking Math!

Six acres = 261,360 sq. feet. A 190-watt solar panel covers about 4 sq. feet. 261,360/4 = 65,340 panels. But they’ll need room for wiring and pipes, support equipment, etc., so let’s say they can only put 64,000 in place. Now, the big panels can run $30,000 a pop. But let’s say they get a deal–$10,000.

Our cost, just for the panels is…yes, you can do it in your head: $6.4 million. Isn’t it amazing that guy from GM can’t do that in his head.

But, harrumph, it will save $15,000 a year.-  Hmm, 6,400,000/15,000. Cool, the payback is only 427 FUCKING YEARS YOU DICKWAD SCUMBAG! But alas, it’s really not. The average life of a solar panel is about 20 years. So they’d have to replace them about 21 times. $6.4 million x 21 = $134.4 million. Hey, but amortized over 427 years…?

That is what Eco-tard fascist rentseekers call “savings.” I call it fraud.

Help The NObama Sticky Note Campaign Go Viral!

Here’s how to get the campaign started in your own neighborhood. It takes very little effort, it costs almost nothing, and, most important of all, it helps other beleaguered members of the public to realize that they are no longer alone.

YourDaddy’s Politics: The Sticky Note Campaign Hits Georgia Supermarkets

The Sticky Note Campaign is making deliveries in Georgia Supermarkets now. Super-Charged with Conservative ideals REAL Americans all over the country and even an awakened Democrat or two are now participating in this grass roots initiative. It’s not a partisan issue either; no one can afford these rising prices at the gas pump or the grocery store.

I just realized that I need to order more FREE PRE-PRINTED Sticky notes from the Koch Brothers – gotta go now.

Be sure take pictures of your STICKY NOTES, upload them to your Facebook, TAG all your friends in the pics and then also be sure to share them with the event page.

RedState: It’s fun. It’s easy. It’s cheap. Join the Sticky Note Campaign!

Here’s something we all can do — and all you need is some Post-It notes!

A Facebook page has been set up for this campaign. The people behind it are encouraging people to send in photos of their own like the ones above.

To borrow a line from an old leftie, “…and, friends, they’ll think it’s a movement!”

By the way, I like the emphasis on food and gasoline, since the official Consumer Price Index does not include — are you ready for this? — food and energy!

Grocery prices increased 6.5% in March from early January, an annualized increase of 26%, according to a report from Consumer Growth Partners. The group called the rise the “sharpest in a generation.”

…A 25% increase in gasoline prices this year combines with higher food costs to take $18 billion out of monthly household spending on discretionary items… Consumer Growth said in its report, which compiles data from Target, Walmart and Aldi stores in four U.S. states.

No word on whether the price of sticky notes has gone up significantly. If we all do our part, however, demand should skyrocket!

Getting Started

  • Get some sticky notes, either regular or “Super Sticky,” in whatever color you like. 3″x3″ is the best size for this purpose.
  • Bring something to write with that won’t run if it gets wet, such as an ordinary ballpoint pen, a Sharpie marker (the new retractable felt-tip is easier to carry), or even a pencil.
  • After posting each note, use your cellphone or a pocket camera to snap a photo of it before you leave.
  • If you have a Facebook account, please upload the photos to the Facebook event page as explained above.

Optional: Ordering Preprinted Sticky Notes

  • You can create your image ahead of time using your own graphic program (e.g., Photoshop or GIMP) and your own fonts. For an image that will be printed on a 3″x3″ notepad, the original should be 900×900 pixels or larger. Alternatively, you can draw your art with black ink on white paper and scan the image at 300dpi or greater. Save the result in .png format.
  • If you are not equipped to create your own digital image, you can often use the design software provided by the print shop or office supply retailer to create your image. They can also scan and upload your artwork from paper if you don’t have access to a scanner.
  • You may want to get together with your friends and fellow political activists to share the expense of ordering sticky note pads with several different messages.
  • A less expensive alternative is to order a self-inking rubber stamp with an image that will fit on a sticky note.
  • Sample sticky-note images created by 1389AD are shown below. Feel free to print from them, distribute them to others, and so forth, without restriction.

Sticky Note Campaign – Yes We Can

Sticky Note Campaign – Can’t Afford Gas

Uploaded by KingSmokeRing on Apr 30, 2011

****** “America’s GAS-ROOTS movement”! ******

visit https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=197324990309059

Purchase a pad of large sticky notes. Write on each one, “How’s that Hope & Change working out for you?” Every time you stop to fill your vehicle with gas, place your sticky note somewhere on the pump before you drive away. DO NOT be destructive in ANY way! Place your sticky note somewhere, so as not to impede the next customer’s ability to read the pump’s digital readout.

After placing your sticky note, please consider taking a digital picture, then uploading it to our wall. Please tell us in which city and state the picture was taken. This is meant to be a “quiet” protest by our silent majority of Americans, to be served upon this administration!! Thank you all for your support!

Green Technology, Unicorns, and Adult Memories.

Gas right now, for those of us in flyovercountry is, for all intents and purposes $4 per gallon. The general belief is that it will soon be $5. This really should not shock anyone, as one of Barak Obama’s campaign promises to the SEIU, Acorn, AFSCME, and the coalition of the smug, (the ecofascists,) was that he would do exactly that to gas prices. You may not have known this, as our alphabet media sources made the decision for us all that this part of Obama’s message was not really all that important for us to know. Now that gas prices are that high, and it is clear that America is feeling the pain, Obama has taken to the airways to fix blame, anybody but him. Oil company executives are getting the blame this time around. He is talking about record profits, and the supposed subsidies that they receive. Let me disabuse you of this nonsense first.

The Oil companies have not reported their earnings yet for this quarter. How on Earth can Obama, or any politician for that matter know what the profits are, let alone whether they are at record levels. Dissemination of that particular information, of any publicly traded company, prior to being released to the general public as a whole is in fact against the law. So, if President Obama is privy to that knowledge and has made the decision to announce that prior than the boards of those companies, he has violated the insider trading laws and should be impeached for such.

Next, how did profit become a dirty word in America? In a free market system, such as ours used to be, and I hope will be again, profit and loss are equally important. When a company reports a profit, it is a measure not only of how wealthy the shareholders have become, but also of the value they have provided for the community at large. Oil companies produce a product. That product has proven to be so useful to the rest of us, that its usage has become literally a part of every aspect of our society. Oil companies did not trick us into making this situation, we found these uses for ourselves. Now that we are able to use it for making every aspect of our daily lives more convenient and comfortable, many have come to believe that it should be a basic right, akin to a free press and the right to bear arms. That oil company profits are big, is an indication that they have done a good job in supplying us with their valuable product with not a single interruption of supply, and in a manner which has also been convenient.

Subsidies, this is a specious argument at best. The fact is that oil is a product that has become so popular, the government has not only seen fit to tax the income of companies who produce it, but also levy an invisible extra tax at each location where it is dispensed. Not only the federal government is in on this, state and local governments have figured it out as well. The net flow of cash between oil companies and the various government entities are flowing more to the government than the other way around, I can assure you. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t believe the government should be subsidizing any business, but claiming that allowing Oil companies to take tax deductions is a subsidy is just plain dishonest. Most especially since they are actually paying a tax beyond their share of corporate taxation rates.

While green technologies are not like unicorns in the sense that they really don’t exist, they are every bit as useful right now. That does not mean that we should shut down all research and development of Solar, Wind, Hydro Electric, Nuclear, etc. On the contrary, keep going. But shutting down Oil and saying we will use a form of energy which honestly will not be able to do the job necessary is just plain stupidity. Edicting that in 10 years time, we will be operating our nation on 20% green sources can only have a limited amount of effects, not one of them good. We will be forced to cut our overall energy usage, which will create a real hardship for many Americans, the poorest among us will be hit the hardest. These technologies have been around for a very long time, and have not been developed to date not because of a lack of government intervention, but because that even with the full weight of the government behind them and against oil, oil is still more efficient, and in fact a vastly superior product.

So, besides demonizing big oil, or the patsy of the month, what else is President Obama and his team of academicians doing to help out?

Here is what the Obama Administration is really doing to help Americans with their pain at the pump.

Shell Oil Company has announced it must scrap efforts to drill for oil this summer in the Arctic Ocean off the northern coast of Alaska. The decision comes following a ruling by the EPA’s Environmental Appeals Board to withhold critical air permits. The move has angered some in Congress and triggered a flurry of legislation aimed at stripping the EPA of its oil drilling oversight.
Shell has spent five years and nearly $4 billion dollars on plans to explore for oil in the Beaufort and Chukchi Seas. The leases alone cost $2.2 billion. Shell Vice President Pete Slaiby says obtaining similar air permits for a drilling operation in the Gulf of Mexico would take about 45 days. He’s especially frustrated over the appeal board’s suggestion that the Arctic drill would somehow be hazardous for the people who live in the area. “We think the issues were really not major,” Slaiby said, “and clearly not impactful
The closest village to where Shell proposed to drill is Kaktovik, Alaska. It is one of the most remote places in the United States. According to the latest census, the population is 245 and nearly all of the residents are Alaska natives. The village, which is 1 square mile, sits right along the shores of the Beaufort Sea, 70 miles away from the proposed off-shore drill site.
The EPA’s appeals board ruled that Shell had not taken into consideration emissions from an ice-breaking vessel when calculating overall greenhouse gas emissions from the project. Environmental groups were thrilled by the ruling.

Barak Obama is banking on the fact that for the most part, our media are not only biased, but willing to lie to us as well. Why shouldn’t he? They were very willing to do just that throughout the 2008 campaign and the first 29 months of his Presidency. An example of one network not in his pocket, and they are continuously vilified for it. All we relly need to combat the goofy arguments of the left are the glimmerings of an adult memory.
