Powerline: Who are the fascist in Europe?

Who are the fascists in Europe?

We write from time to time about European politicians and parties — notably Geert Wilders and his Party for Freedom in the Netherlands — that are standing up against the Islamization of Europe. The left and liberal MSM, both here and in Europe, are quick to label these politicians and their parties “far right” or “fascist.” Unfortunately, one hears the same thing from people who should know better.

There are, indeed, some nationalist European politicians and parties that deserve these labels. Jean-Marie Le Pen in France and Jorg Haider in Austria come to mind. On the other hand, as Soeren Kern, writing in the Brussels Journal, shows, Wilders and his party are plainly not “far right” or “fascist.” Neither, for example, is the Danish People’s Party.

In Europe, the far right and the fascists are anti-semitic. But Wilders’ Party for Freedom and the Danish People’s Party are vehemently pro-Israel (Wilders spent part of his youth in Israel and visits it regularly). As such, they stand largely alone in Europe where anti-semitism has become respectable on the left and where the major parties range from hostile to lukewarm when it comes to Israel. As Kern puts it:

[W]ith few exceptions, the only genuine European supporters of Jews and Israel are on the political right-wing. Indeed, in the bigger scheme of things, Jews have much more to fear from the European left than they do from the European far right.

Charles Johnson Caught in a Lie

Radical Leftist fascist and former Jazz Guitarist Charles “Icarus” Johnson, has been caught lying. He claims that 30’s Radical leftist Father Coughlin was Rightwing. He is taken to tasks by several LGFers, but he continues to baldfaced lie about what Socialism is.

re: #109 neocon hippie

Jonah Goldberg makes a pretty good case that Father Charles Coughlin was a man of the left. Apparently he advocated for the typical social programs, and his complaint against FDR was that the New Deal was not going far enough. He was no libertarian free marketeer.

If you read up on Father Coughlin, it’s just not true that he was a socialist — he was a Bircher-style anti-communist. Again — this is just revisionism to try to put Father Coughlin on the “left.” It’s absurd.

He wasn’t Socialist?  Well, Charles gets exposed here by a poster.

Father Charles Edward Coughlin

Coughlin used his radio program to promote Franklin D. Roosevelt and his early New Deal proposals, (and later to oppose FDR), to issue antisemitic commentary, and later to rationalize some of the policies of National Socialist Adolf Hitler and Fascist Benito Mussolini.

Coughlin’s support for Roosevelt and his New Deal faded later in 1934, when he founded the National Union for Social Justice (NUSJ), a nationalistic worker’s rights organization which grew impatient with what it viewed as the President’s unconstitutional and pseudo-capitalistic monetary policies. His radio programs preached more and more about the negative influence of “money changers” and “permitting a group of private citizens to create money” on the general welfare of the public.[6] He also spoke about the need for monetary reform. Coughlin claimed that the Depression was a “cash famine”. Some modern economic historians, in part, agree with this assessment. [7] Coughlin proposed monetary reforms, including the elimination of the Federal Reserve System, as the solution.

Among the articles of the NUSJ, were work and income guarantees, nationalizing “necessary” industry, wealth redistribution through taxation of the wealthy, federal protection of worker’s unions, and decreasing property rights in favor of the government controlling the country’s assets for “public good.” [8] Illustrative of his disdain for capitalism is his statement that, “We maintain the principle that there can be no lasting prosperity if free competition exists in industry. Therefore, it is the business of government not only to legislate for a minimum annual wage and maximum working schedule to be observed by industry, but also to curtail individualism that, if necessary, factories shall be licensed and their output shall be limited.” [9]

His views combined a number of positions from the left and right, with a big helping of antisemitism. In that regard, he was very much a 30’s style Fascist. It is interesting to note Coughlin’s support for “wealth redistribution through taxation of the wealthy” and the “government controlling the country’s assets for public good.” Those ideas have a lot of support within the Obama administration today.

Yeah Father Coughlin really sounds like a rightwinger. He is calling for redistribution of wealth, something the right is against. But alas, this doesn’t deter Icarus to continue his lies.

Those views are not socialist, they’re authoritarian. You have to look not just at their tactics, but at the outcome they hope to achieve. In the case of Coughlin and Von Brunn, taking control of the economy is a tactic with the purpose of making sure the race remains pure. That’s the real bottom line for many fascist groups — the fear of miscegenation.

Hold on. Socialism isn’t authoritarian and doesn’t believe in wealth redistribution? This is an outright lie. Fascism is a form of Socialism. Charles knows this and he is lying. This is an example of how Progressive Fascists like Charles “Icarus” Foster Johnson project their own views onto others. Redistributing wealth is leftwing, not rightwing.  Kid Icarus is a liar and it is plain for all to see.

Treat this as an Open Thread as well. Its Friday Night, let’s have fun!

Obama’s fake job numbers claims

Obama is claiming that he has saved 150,000 jobs. There is no hard proof of this, however, the progressive-fascist media is reporting it as a fact. This article rips apart the propaganda.

The Media Fall for Phony ‘Jobs’ Claims

Mr. Fratto was a colleague of mine in the Bush administration, and as a senior member of the White House communications shop, he knows just how difficult it can be to deal with a press corps skeptical about presidential economic claims. It now appears, however, that Mr. Fratto’s problem was that he simply lacked the magic words — jobs “saved or created.”

“Saved or created” has become the signature phrase for Barack Obama as he describes what his stimulus is doing for American jobs. His latest invocation came yesterday, when the president declared that the stimulus had already saved or created at least 150,000 American jobs — and announced he was ramping up some of the stimulus spending so he could “save or create” an additional 600,000 jobs this summer. These numbers come in the context of an earlier Obama promise that his recovery plan will “save or create three to four million jobs over the next two years.”

The truth doesn’t matter anymore in our new progressive-fascist era. Whatever Maobama and his cronies say will be taken at face value. The leader of the regime can claim we went to Mars, and the media would back his assertion. I never thought I would see this day in America. One man with all this power. It is really sad.

Meanwhile our debt is increasing, just like what happens in 3rd World progressive-fascist regimes. When the hyper-inflation hits Americans will wake up.

Obama now seeking to control the Internet

Chairman Barack Hussein Maobama is seeking to appoint an Internet Czar. The goal of the Czar is to protect America’s network. In other words the government will now know everything going online.

Obama Set to Create A Cybersecurity Czar With Broad Mandate

President Obama is expected to announce late this week that he will create a “cyber czar,” a senior White House official who will have broad authority to develop strategy to protect the nation’s government-run and private computer networks, according to people who have been briefed on the plan.

The adviser will have the most comprehensive mandate granted to such an official to date and will probably be a member of the National Security Council but will report to the national security adviser as well as the senior White House economic adviser, said the sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the deliberations are not final.

The reasons and intentions sound good, however this opens up the door to government control of the Internet. That I believe is the ultimate goal of Progressives.
