Kim Jong-un Directs Farmers To Stop Growing Tall Corn

Kim Jong Un Corn Mandate

Even well-off families Can Only Add a Handful of Rice to Their Corn Meal Porridge
Corn (maize) long ago replaced rice as North Korea’s staple food. North Koreans call corn meal “corn rice”. The well-to-do eat steamed rice; for others, corn is their staple food. Depending on a family’s economic status, the rice-to-corn ratio varies. Well-off families don’t use more than 50% corn; as the household budget becomes more strained, corn’s share grows.

Mrs. Kang Un-hui (alias) of Pyongsung city in South Pyongan Province has not so far had to worry about food thanks to her husband, who is a police officer. However, now only her husband gets a food ration. It has been several months since the food ration ended for the three other family members. Even so, they are not starving, but the quality of their meals has fallen sharply. Long ago, they only ate steamed rice. Last year, their meals were half corn and half rice. This year they struggle to be able to mix a handful of rice into the corn meal.

Says Mrs. Kang: “These days, if you’re not pretty rich, the quality of your meals worsens. Now, a family that can afford corn meal is doing well. It’s gotten to the point that it’s hard to have corn meal with even one handful of rice. If our family is like this, other families will be even worse-off. Apart from North Koreans of Chinese origins, everybody is like this. Even so, that does not mean we should complain. My husband has steady work, and I’m just grateful that he can keep his position. I hope that the country’s food situation will improve quickly and we can receive our food rations in the usual way.”

Okay, the image (Kimmy Crack Corn?) is an obvious photoshop intended for political snark, and I’m not going to post the source in order to protect their anonymity. The story dated 4 July 2012, quoted verbatim, is unaltered.

But there is something odd in that report, and it has to do with rice and corn.
Lookee here:

Grains Comparison[Source]

So why is corn (maize) disparaged as a staple in North Korea when it has three times as many calories and more nutrients? Is it because it’s a crop cultivated in the Americas? I dunno, Babs, but I do know this.
The U.S. don’t raise no rice-fed cattle.

North Korea’s sparse agricultural resources limit agricultural production. Climate, terrain, and soil conditions are not particularly favorable for farming, with a relatively short cropping season. Only about 17% of the total landmass, or approximately 20,000 km2, is arable, of which 14,000 km2 is well suited for cereal cultivation; the major portion of the country is rugged mountain terrain.[1] [Wiki]

That means North Korea has approximately 12% of its landmass good for growing grains, and it grows mostly rice. The government takes most of the rice away from the private subsistence farms.

So much for the Workers’ Paradise. Eat dirt, peons.

The Power Grab of Barack Hussein Obama

The Progressives accused Bush of abusing the powers of the Presidency. They were projecting onto him, their intentions. Barack Hussein Obama has governed like a 3rd World Style Progressive. He has a State Capitalist economic policies, engages in demagogic rhetoric and abuses of power. Obama has even admitted he wishes he can act with dictatorial like powers. In fact, he has engaged in power grabs.

Candidates never keep their promises once in office. But even by the unlovely standards of his political peers, President Obama has pulled a rather impressive switcheroo from the anti-Bush to Bush-plus. He ran on a platform to undo President George W. Bush’s legacy and restore government accountability, even signing the pledge from the Reason Foundation (where I work) to “fully and robustly” work toward “open, transparent, and accountable government principles.”

[….]

1. War-making powers. During the campaign, Obama famously declared that when it came to bombing Iran’s nuclear facilities: “The president does not have the power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.”

But not only did he not get prior congressional approval before bombing Libya, which poses no threat, he refused to get approval even 90 days after the fact as required by the War Powers Resolution Act. Why? Because he insists that unless troops are committed, we are not engaged in a war, only “kinetic military action.”

[….]

2. Civil liberties. During a 2005 speech, Obama rightly condemned the “false choice” between liberty and security posed by the Bush war on terror. So what does he do after getting elected? Not only does he not return the civil liberties that Bush took away, he confiscates more.

[….]

3. Legislating through bureaucrats. If this assault on civil liberties is chilling, so is the manner in which Obama and his congressional minions are colluding to hand over control of the economy to unelected bureaucrats.

Consider the Independent Payment Advisory Board that Obamacare created. Its 15-member board, appointed by the president, has virtual carte blanche to cut Medicare spending by mandating “evidence-based medicine” (code for rationing) or slashing physician payments. Its “recommendations” will have the force of law unless Congress passes—with a three-fifths supermajority in the Senate—alternative cuts of an equal amount. This, in essence, delegates away Congress’ legislative powers.

[….]

4. Killing the auto industry through regulatory fiat. At least the president worked with Congress before delivering the financial and health care industries to the clutches of bureaucrats. If only the auto industry had been so lucky. The administration’s newly proposed fuel economy standards are the regulatory equivalent of declaring war on carmakers, as I noted in my last column. However, as with Libya, the administration failed to involve Congress, in a clear departure from past precedent when Congress has set the standards and the EPA has implemented them. This time, the EPA is doing both.

Read it all: Obama’s Top Four Power Grabs

I don’t really agree that Bush took civil liberties, since I was able to criticize his policies without fear of retribution. The other 3 examples of Obama abusing his power are spot on. He is trying to emulate the 3rd World tyrants he grew up admiring.

Jesse Lee's Twitter icon
Jesse Lee’s Twitter icon: Fascism with a smile!

Drudge didn’t seem to have this, so I emailed it to him…

HuffPo says Obama appoints “Director of Progressive Media & Online Response”.

According to HuffPo’s description of a memo that THEY received from the White House, his tasks include “helping coordinate rapid response to unfavorable stories” and “pressing to make the administration more popular on the web”.

Jesse Lee’s twitter is http://twitter.com/#!/jesseclee44.

For what it’s worth, I say that Mr. Lee’s duties constitutes propagandizing and campaigning on the taxpayers’ dime. And I say that now ALL Obama supporters on ALL forums may RIGHTLY be called “government trolls” operating under the marching orders of their new field commander. Whereas until now, that was just an insulting speculation.

I meant it about the Obamaphiles. They are officially trolls. Every Obamaphile, every time, every forum.

Happiness is: watching a leftist strategy backfire.

Like “Crash The Tea Party”, or even… dare I say it… Splattergate!

By the way, I pointed this out on HuffPo and they promptly deleted me. 😆

“OK, turning on the White House Twitter machine that they issued me in 3… 2… 1…”

The derogatory comments garnered by Jesse Lee’s first attempt to post on Twitpic are well worth reading. Evidently, a significant proportion of the online community isn’t buying his propaganda.

Revolutionary Holocaust: Live Free or Die

Yesterday Glenn Beck had one of the greatest documentaries ever shown on TV.  His Revolutionary Holocaust: Live Free or Die, exposed the origins of Progressivism. This Ideology, which has it’s origins in the French Revolutionary and the Jacobins, has created more suffering in Human History than any other movement with the exception being Islamo-Imperialism. It has been responsible for the death of millions through genocide and mass murder.

Progressivism comes in many flavors, Nazism, Bolshevism, Maoism, Fascism, the 3rd World Liberation Ideology and the American New Left (Progressives). Although there are differences, the result is the same: an elite controlling the masses.

Here at the Blogmocracy we have been documenting the Progressive Movement for the last 7 months and now Beck has validated our work.

Below are clips from the documentary, enjoy!
