Federal Government hiring surges with wages at $75,000

The US Federal government is hiring even during this recession. The average wage being paid is $75,419, while in the private sector wages

It’s A Good Time To Work For Uncle Sam

President Obama’s call last year for “shared sacrifice” doesn’t extend to federal employees, at least based on the details of his administration’s 2010 budget released this week.

At a time when the official unemployment rate is nearing double digits, and 6.35 million people are receiving unemployment benefits, the U.S. government is on a hiring binge.

Although I am a fan of high wages, this development isn’t good. If the government becomes a viable option of employment with good wages, all of the talented people will go there. This will lead to a weak private sector and more powers in the hand of government.

Obama and Socialism, Hand in Hand.

So yes, we’re in a bit of hard times. Unemployment is on the rise, companies are going out of business and our government thinks a wise approach is to spend gobs of cash that it doesn’t have and take partial control of sections of the private sector.

 

Surely in light of the constant failures of such plans in the past, the Federal Government would shy away from spending MORE money that it doesn’t have. But no.

 

By the time this post is up, Obama will start giving a speech in which he, as part of the nonexistant “Office of the President Elect” will call for drastic spending increases and more control of the proviate sector. Here are some parts of his speech,as provided by these folks.

 

“I don’t believe it’s too late to change course, but it will be if we don’t take dramatic action as soon as possible. If nothing is done, this recession could linger for years. The unemployment rate could reach double digits. Our economy could fall $1 trillion short of its full capacity, which translates into more than $12,000 in lost income for a family of four. We could lose a generation of potential and promise, as more young Americans are forced to forgo dreams of college or the chance to train for the jobs of the future. And our nation could lose the competitive edge that has served as a foundation for our strength and standing in the world.

 

“In short, a bad situation could become dramatically worse.”

 

 

So, at a time in which the economy is very fragile, Obama’s great plan is to have the government spend more money it doesn’t have and grow even bigger and take on even more power. . . for the good of the people of course. (Sound Familiar?)

 

Another snippet:

 

“There is no doubt that the cost of this plan will be considerable. It will certainly add to the budget deficit in the short-term. But equally certain are the consequences of doing too little or nothing at all, for that will lead to an even greater deficit of jobs, incomes, and confidence in our economy. It is true that we cannot depend on government alone to create jobs or long-term growth, but at this particular moment, only government can provide the short-term boost necessary to lift us from a recession this deep and severe. Only government can break the vicious cycles that are crippling our economy –- where a lack of spending leads to lost jobs which leads to even less spending; where an inability to lend and borrow stops growth and leads to even less credit.”

 

That’s right folks. Not only does The Obama Plan call for even more radical federal spending (after all, a 1,000,000,000,000 dollar budget deficit…. read 1 trillion dollars…. isn’t enough spending in the red for a socialist.), but only the government can do it. Mr Hope for Change has no hope for the private sector. Here again we see the constant socialist theme of “You can’t do it, only the government can. Be dependent upon the government.” Any inabilities of the private sector to lead us quickly out of this mess are a direct result of the federal government’s over-taxation and over-involvement with the private sector. And Obama wants to raise taxes further…. We’ve already fought 2 wars over this, folks.

 

I’m going to leave this post with two quotes from a Document that used to have some meaning in Washington:

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.” -Amendment X
