1992 was a good year for me, I was 17 and one year into my DJing gig. I did it for fun, not be someone big and I did it because at the time I was (still am)a huge Hip Hop fan. 1992 was politically an interesting year, it was the year the Reagan coalition collapsed when after Bush I’s anemic economic record, Economic Conservatives went over to Perot. This allowed Bill Clinton to get elected.

Musically saw Grunge take off and Hip Hop become the pre-eminent club music in Urban and suburban areas. There were many good songs from soundtracks. My favorite movies were Juice, White Man Can’t jump, Deep Cover, Boomerang and Zebra Head. Good times and great memories.

Scenario by Tribe Called Quest was my favorite track of the year. To this day, this song gets people jumping in clubs.

Scenario remix came out a few weeks after and was strictly a club banger

Here’s another club banger Party Groove by Showbiz and AG.

Here’s Dre and Snoops’s first collaboration from the Deep Cover soundtrack. This was a West Coast track that had acceptance in the New York scene.

This was Snoop and Dre’s 2nd track of 1992, off the now classic Chronic. Ain’t nothing but a G thang!

From the Juice soundtrack, here’s a classic NY club banger. Uptown Anthem by Naughty by Nature.

Also from the Juice soundtrack, here’s Eric B. and Rakim’s Know the Ledge.

From Zebra head Queen’s finest Nasty Nas, whom I had the pleasure to met and DJ for. This was the song that put him on a national level. It’s Half Time.

Now comes Strong Island’s finest Pete Rock and CL Smooth. This song reminds me of all the people I lost, They Reminisce over you.

From White Men can’t jump which stared Rosie Perez, Woody Harrelson and Weslie Snipes comes this song from Main Source. Like Nas, they were from QUeensbridge projects which was the hood right next to mine. Here’s faking the funk.

For my Irish peeps, here’s House of Pain’s Jump Around. This is The Pete Rock remix which was very popular in the clubs. The Irish Kats in my hood really loved this track.

This track reminds me of when I did gigs down in South Beach. 2 Live Crew’s I Want to Rock!

Cypress Hills Hand on the pump.

From Mary J Blidge’s first album. This is my favorite track of it, What’s the 4111 featuring Grand Puba. This was on the B-Side to Real Love. This was the side of the single played in the clubs.

From Strong (Long) Island here’s Das Efx with They want EFX.

Here’s one of my favorites and I met these rappers. Lords of the Underground’s Birth of the Funky child.

So many memories of that era. I know most of you don’t like this music. However it was part of my life and I still look fondly towards those years. Special shout out to Brick, real recognize real, we lived during a great era. Special birthday shout out to Natasha tonight.

Liberalism is a Mental Disorder Rap Song

As many of you all know I am a hardcore Hip Hop head. I have been into Rap music since the early 80’s when I was a young kid growing up in Queens, NY.  I DJ’d Rap music in the early to mid 90’s when it was truly raw street music. I understand many Netizens here don’t like the music and unlike a certain Jazz Musician I never impose my tastes on any of you. I may post videos from time to time but its more for me to reminisce and share a part of my identity with you.

Blogmocracy Netizen Mr. Paul Revere brought this video by Conservative rapper Infidel where he pays tribute to Michael Savage and totally destroys the Tranzi progressives as mentally sick.

Here is Michael Savage’s interview with the Rapper Infidel.

This is an Open thread for a Saturday

Al-Qaeda using Hip Hop to promote Jihad

As a Hip Hop fan and former DJ, I find this twisted. Al-Qaqeda is doing this to influence young people to make Islam look cool. It is an American who did this video for Al-Qaeda to brainwash the youth.

Al Qaeda exporting jihad with a hip-hop vibe

LONDON (CNN) — The latest video from Somalia’s al Qaeda-backed Al-Shabaab wing is as slickly produced as a reality TV show but with a startling message — complete with a hip-hop jihad vibe.

Mortar by mortar, shell by shell, only going to stop when I send them to hell,” the unidentified voice raps on the video, which runs at least 18 minutes.

The video also shows a man reported to be Abu Mansoor al-Amriki, dubbed “The American” by al Qaeda. He apparently is now in Somalia training and counseling Somalis from North America and Europe. He speaks in American English.

The reason young people might fall for this is because or education system isn’t good. Our History Classes don’t teach the truth about Islam. This is a disturbing fan that the music I love is being used to promote Islamo-Fascists.
