Hamas hides the casualties suffered by its operatives:
Hamasās main online forum censors the publication of names
and photographs of operatives killed in Operation Cast LeadOn January 10, at 21:41 , all web surfers on Hamas’s PALDF forum (the movement’s main message board) received a message from a user nicknamed āSamedā (āHe who stands firmā). He is one of the forum’s moderators (the user was said to be a muraqib, Arabic for āinspectorā). The message said that according to the policy of the terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip (āthe jihadist resistanceā), it was forbidden to publish photographs, names, or details of those members of the resistance (i.e., terrorist organizations) killed or injured in the fighting until the end of the āIsraeli aggressionā in the Gaza Strip. The moderator said that any message violating those principles would be removed from the forum. He added that they were all āsoldiers of the resistanceā who should avoid providing assistance to the enemy (see Appendix for the complete message and its translation).
It is our assessment that such a policy is designed to achieve three goals:
a) to avoid undermining the morale of Hamas operatives as a result of the death of many terrorists during the IDF’s ground operations (according to IDF reports, more than 200 operatives were killed). With that in mind, and possibly owing to the difficulty of evacuating many bodies from the battlefield, it was reported that Hamas was not holding proper funerals for its fatalities.
b) to deliver to the Palestinian target audience (and to other target audiences worldwide) the message that Israel has no achievements in its ground operation and thus strengthen Hamas’s status and bargaining power when the fighting comes to an end.
c) to confirm (through Al-Jazeera and other media) the false propaganda message that Israel’s military operations are aimed against Gaza Strip residents and that only the civilian population is being hit by the IDF and is paying the price.
Yep.

(IsraelNN.com) Israel has rejected the United Nations Human Rights Council (HRC) resolution “strongly condemning” Israel’s counter-terrorist operations in Hamas-controlled Gaza. The non-binding resolution was adopted Monday by a coalition of 33 African, Asian, Arab, and South American states. Thirteen European states abstained, while Canada was the sole “no” vote. The United States and Israel are not members of the Council.
…
Israel’s Foreign Ministry spokespeople roundly rejected the HRC resolution as “irrelevant and one-sided.” The HRC itself, Israel noted, is dominated by Islamic and non-aligned states, while Western democratic nations “refused to give their support to this resolution or lend it moral credence.” Japan, Korea, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Ukraine and Cameroon also abstained.
…
“The politically-motivated, almost exclusive focus on Israel has become a repulsive habit of the Council,” the Foreign Ministry said, addingĀ thatĀ theĀ Human Rights CouncilĀ is once again exposing “its true face as a body exploited by states whose behavior is far from ideal, where human rights are concerned. This allows the Council’s attention to be diverted from most of the regions of the world, while the fate of their residents is left to criminal negligence or abuse by Council members or their allies.”

Israel finally responds appropriately to the witless U.N.Ā I imagine however that those who are Anti-Israel will very quickly quote this non-binding resolution as “further evidence” of Israel’s violation of international law, and U.N. resolutions.Ā But then again the facts have never been their friend.
