Islam most Negatively Viewed Religion in America

In a new poll released by Gallup, 53% of Americans have an unfavorable view of Islam and 42% (Progressives, I bet) have a favorable view. This is in contrast to a 71% favorable view for Judaism,  91% for Christianity and 58% for Buddhism. Clearly the issue isn’t American intolerance, the problem is Islamic Imperialist Aggression against us. It doesn’t help either that people from the Dar AL Islam don’t immigrate, they colonize and seek to impose their way on us. They always make excuses and blame others for their troubles. If it’s not Christian Racism, they blame Israel and Zionists for all their problems. It’s making Americans tired of their whining hence the low poll ratings for their movement.

In a separate question asking Americans to express their overall view about each of the four religions evaluated, Islam is the most negatively viewed. Nearly one-third of Americans (31%) say their opinion of Islam is “not favorable at all” versus 9% who say their opinion is “very favorable.” This stands in contrast to Americans’ views of Christianity and Judaism, which are far more likely to be “very favorable” than “not favorable at all,” while Buddhism draws almost equally positive and negative opinions at the extremes. Gallup conducted the nationwide U.S. survey between Oct. 31 and Nov. 13, 2009, spanning the Fort Hood shooting in which a U.S.-born Muslim military doctor killed 13 people on the Army base on Nov. 5.

This is no shock to me. When I’m out at bars and the subject of Islamo-Imperialism comes up, the anger expressed by the people is deep. Americans are a mellow easy going people who could care less what God a person worships. The problem is Islam is not just a religion, it is a Political movement based on Arabization and exterminations of other cultures. I should know, the Arab Muslim tried to exterminate my Spaniard ancestors. Luckily we resisted and after a 700 year war, the invaders  were driven out. I am proud for the brave resistance to Islam my Ancestors did.

Americans are at a breaking point and one or a few more attacks and this nation will erupt like a volcano. A tolerant people can only take so much before that have had it. The Gallup Poll proves that the Islamo-Imperialists are on thin ice.

As we are enjoying our long weekend, it is once again that wonderful time and I have found a discussion that couldn’t be more appropriate for a blog by Rabbi Kalman Packouz of Aish Ha’Torah. Enjoy!

One of the distinguishing features of human beings from other species is that we can talk, and one of the distinguishing features amongst human beings is how we use the gift of speech. Do we speak in an elevated manner or in a crass manner? They way we speak says a lot about us – who we are, how we perceive ourselves, who we identify with.

The Torah teaches that human beings were created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). Since God has no corporeal image, the Torah is telling us that we were created in a spiritual image of the Almighty – that we can emulate the Almighty in doing kindness and that we can use speech to perfect this world.

Many times people are not aware of how they speak. Use of curse words demeans the speaker who, after all, should look upon him/herself as a holy individual created in the image of the Almighty!

Also, people need to be aware of how they use speech when talking with someone or about someone.  Loshon hora (literally, “evil speech”) is derogatory speech and is forbidden by Jewish law even when it’s true – unless there is a compelling requirement to share the information. Loshon hora is the fuel for hatred, jealousy and contention.  It can break an engagement, end a marriage, destroy a partnership, ruin a life. However, proper speech can bring harmony and build relationships. Words can hurt, words can heal.

King David’s wrote in Psalms 34:12-14, “Who is the one who desires life …? Guard your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit.”

[What are some of the major reasons] people speak derogatory speech? A Jewish Sage and expert on the subject enumerated 7 basic reasons: (1) Anger – losing control. (2) Joking – seeking a laugh no matter who the joke hurts.  (3) Arrogance – to aggrandize oneself at the expense of others.  (4) Giving up hope – thinking that it is impossible not to speak loshon hora.  (5) Seeing that others aren’t careful – following the bad example of others.  (6) Judging others unfavorably – we tend to see the negativity in others that we have in ourselves.  (7) Ignorance – not knowing the laws governing proper speech.

If we understand what motivates us to speak poorly of others, we can correct our ways in order to speak properly.

10 PRACTICAL GUIDELINES FOR
POSITIVE SPEECH

  1. 1. Do not express damaging or derogatory information about someone that might cause him physical, psychological or financial harm, even if it is true and deserved.
  2. 2. Promote people’s well being. When in doubt, don’t speak out.
  3. 3..Humor is great, but make sure jokes aren’t at someone else’s expense.
  4. 4. Be kind to yourself. Speaking badly even about yourself is unethical.
  5. 5. Don’t listen to gossip. If you can’t change the direction of the conversation, it is advisable to leave.
  6. 6. If you inadvertently hear damaging information, you should believe that it is NOT true.
  7. 7. Always give others the benefit of the doubt and focus on the positive.
  8. 8. Words once spoken can’t be erased. Think before you speak, especially if you are angry, hurt or jealous.
  9. 9. Use kind and supportive words with your children and spouse whenever possible. Harsh words can cause irreparable harm as can speaking derogatorily to others about the ones you love most.
  10. 10. It is not only permitted, but required, to warn a person about potential harm – for example, that a potential business partner has a repeated record of embezzlement.

For more on this subject.

What we say, (and don’t say) has a major impact on our relationships and our words are the ambassadors of our souls.  We are often told in the real world that “we are what we eat” but in the blog world is more appropriate to realize that – you are what you say!

Everyone have a meaningful weekend, a blessed “new year” and for those Jews who take the opportunity to keep the life-multiplyer of Shabbat – Shabbat Shalom!

Rabbis to US Ambassador: Time to ‘Go Biblical’ with Arabs

Arutz Sheva is reporting that the Rabbinical Congress for Peace (RCP) has met with America’s Ambassador to Israel to request a change in American policy in the Middle East.

This isn’t the first time that the Rabbinical Congress for Peace has sent a message to Obama:

The Rabbinical Congress for Peace (RCP) comprised of over 350 leading rabbis in Israel and 850 abroad has sent a message through a personal contact to President-elect Barack Obama congratulating him on his election and at the same time reminded him of his prayer at the Western Wall and the biblical promise of Jewish sovereignty in the entire Land of Israel.

The RCP wrote that “we appreciate the fact that on your last visit to Israel you prayed to G-d at the Western Wall in Jerusalem, the holiest Jewish site, and according to media the following was the text of your prayer: “Lord-Protect my family and me. Forgive me my sins, and help me guard against pride and despair. Give me the wisdom to do what is right and just. And make me an instrument of your will.”

“Consistent with your focus on the will of G-d we trust that you are aware of the will of G-d when it comes to Jewish sovereignty in the entire Land of Israel. We therefore trust that you will accord the will of G-d concerning all of Israel the same divine importance as you do with regard to other areas of the will of G-d.

“The last 15 years have proven without a shadow of a doubt that the “land for peace” formula, besides being a formula that goes against the Divine will, is ineffective, obsolete, and an exercise in futility. Most of all it is a dangerous policy that only leads to bloodshed and instability in the region…”

Rabbinical Congress for Peace reminds Obama of G-d’s promise

In today’s meeting with America’s Ambassador to Israel, Mr. James Cunningham, the Rabbinical Congress for Peace explained everything to him with a refreshing directness that needs to be promulgated in America on an ongoing basis.

Rabbis to US Ambassador: Time to ‘Go Biblical’ with Arabs
December 31, 2009

(IsraelNN.com) A delegation of the Rabbinical Congress for Peace (RCP) met with U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Mr. James Cunningham, today and called for a reassessment of the entire U.S. policy vis-à-vis the Israelis and Palestinians. The rabbis told Ambassador Cunningham that it was time to try the Biblical approach to the dispute over the Land of Israel.

“The past 17 years have proven without a shadow of a doubt that every square inch ceded by Israel to the Palestinians was transformed into a platform of hatred and terrorism,” RCP Director Rabbi Avrohom Shmuel Lewin told the ambassador. “In other words, the ‘land for peace’ formula in the Israel-Palestinian context, besides being a formula that goes against the Divine will, is ineffective, obsolete, and an exercise in futility. Most of all it is a dangerous policy that only leads to bloodshed and instability in the region and harms vital American interests in the region as well,” Lewin said.

‘Land for peace doesn’t work’

The delegation was headed by Rabbi Joseph Gerlitzky, Chairman of the RCP, who is also the Rabbi of Central Tel Aviv where the US embassy is located. Rabbi Gerlitzky presented the ambassador with the Halachic (Jewish legal) ruling signed by over 350 prominent rabbis in Israel that it is forbidden to give up even one inch of territory controlled by Israel today because it will bring bloodshed and instability to the region.

“In the name of the overwhelming majority of rabbis in Israel,” he said, “we request of you Mr. Ambassador, to convey our Halachic message to President Barack Obama that it is time for a complete reversal and reassessment of U.S. policy in the Middle East. The ‘land for peace’ policy never worked and harms U.S. interests in the region and the world at large.”

Ambassador Cunningham told the rabbis that he does not see how the problem can be solved “without taking into consideration the Palestinians,” to which Rabbi Gold remarked: “Ever since we started taking the Palestinians into consideration the situation only worsened.”

The ambassador asked the rabbis, “So what is your solution to the problem?”

Rabbi Gerlitzky replied: “You must switch the entire approach to the situation. We all believe in the Holy Bible and up until now we tried every formula except for that which is delineated in the Bible. Let’s try it and who knows, Mr. Ambassador, maybe this is your defining moment, that G-d Almighty has placed you in this capacity in order to precipitate a new course which will bring a true peace to the entire region.”

The Bible says that the Land of Israel belongs to the Jewish people exclusively, and commands the Jews to defeat any enemy nation that encroaches on that sovereignty.

Rabbis to US Ambassador: Time to ‘Go Biblical’ with Arabs

The Rabbinical Congress for Peace is right! There is NO Middle East Peace Process and the attempts to pretend otherwise have resulted in nothing but bloodshed and war. Repeating the same mistakes for another 17 years would be monstrous.

It’s time to understand that Israeli sovereignty over the land is the only solution. It doesn’t mean that all Arabs would have to be expelled. Israel has 1.5 million Arabs living inside the green line.

Israel could give some Arabians in Judea, Samaria and Gaza a type of residency permit that would NOT allow them to vote Israel into an Islamic state while also NOT allowing them to have access to all of Israel again (as they had prior to the first and second intifadas).

Israel must have sovereignty over all the land from the Jordan River to the Sea.

Because of work, and the early Shabbat, I didn’t have enough time to produce a full Friday Night Shabbat Open Thread. Not wanting to leave you all wanting however, I provide the following blueprint to what usually becomes the aforementioned.

To those who keep the Shabbat, have a wonderfully meaningful one, and to those who do not, enjoy your Friday night and weekend.

*UPDATE – Place a note in the Kotel (“Western Wall” of the Temple Mount)
