Alec Baldwin might run for NYC Mayor

Progressive activist and actor, Alec Baldwin, sees opportunity in Anthony Weiner’s troubles. The scandal ridden Congressman was considered one of the favorites for the 2013 New York City Mayoral election. Now with his mess, it has given the Long Island native, Baldwin, a shot at the mayoralty.

Alec Baldwin is mulling a run for mayor of New York City now that kinky Congressman Anthony Weiner appears to have sexted himself out of the 2013 race.

The “30 Rock” star, who has long talked about running for political office, believes Weinergate has shaken up the field of candidates enough that he might have a chance to win, a friend of the actor told The Daily.

“Alec said, ‘Hey, maybe this changes the race. The dynamics have shifted,’ ” said Baldwin’s pal.

“The Democrats need a high-profile candidate, and Alec can fill that bill.”

Baldwin, a die-hard Democrat originally from Massapequa, a suburb on Long Island, N.Y., has said 2012 will be his last year on “30 Rock,” which would free him up for a 2013 mayoral run.

The sad part is, he probably could win. Alec Baldwin as mayor would have to actually make decisions instead of complaining. Seeing his thin skinned temperament, he would be a disaster as mayor. But he has the right to run and it would be up to New York City residents whether they want Alec Baldwin as mayor. I can guarantee, he would be comedy gold!

The Young flee New York

New York state’s Progressive policies have killed the nation’s once leading job creation machine. Before the great recession, NYers were fleeing the state in droves. Decades of Leftist Democrats and Rockefeller Republicans killed NY’s economic competitiveness. The jobs created in NY now are mostly low wage, with a few high paying jobs. This has shut down upward mobility for young workers and is forcing them to flee.

For more than 15 years, New York state has led the country in domestic outmigration: For every American who comes here, roughly two depart for other states. This outmigration slowed briefly following the onset of the Great Recession. But a recent Marist poll suggests that the rate is likely to increase: 36 percent of New Yorkers under 30 plan to leave over the next five years. Why are all these people fleeing?

For one thing, according to a recent survey in Chief Executive, our state has the second-worst business climate in the country. (Only California ranks lower.) People go where the jobs are, so when a state repels businesses, it repels residents, too.

There’s also more work in Gotham than in the state as a whole. The problem is that the kind of work available shows that the city accommodates new immigrants much better than it supports middle-class aspirations. A recent report from the Drum Major Institute has the data: “The two fastest-growing industries in New York are also the lowest-paid. More than half of the city’s employment growth over the past year has been in retail, hospitality and food services, all of which pay their workers less than half of the city’s average wage.”

[….]

The implications of Gotham’s “hourglass economy” — with all the action on the top and the bottom and not much in the middle — are daunting.

America’s economy is rapidly resembling NY. Mostly low wage jobs created and just few high end with no middle wage jobs. This is an unsustainable model.

Why New York is an unattractive city to live in

New York City had a renaissance in the 1990’s when Rudy Giulliani was mayor. Racial tensions died out, crime went down and thanks to Rudy’s pro-business attitude, companies flocked to the city. The 2000’s is  a different story, under the dhimmi mayor Mike Bloomberg New York City has deteriorated. The cost of living has skyrocketed, jobs are scare due to Bloomberg’s tax increases, public sector unions are leeching off the taxpayers the Jet Setters have taken over Manhattan and the outer boroughs are rapidly becoming Islamic. This is signs of a dying city that once lead the nation in wealth creation and innovation. Young professionals no longer view it as place to make their careers, instead places like Texas have become the place for wealth creation.

New York, I love you — but I can’t make the math work.

Like lots of media professionals (and fashion mavens, artists, musicians, et al.), I’ve penciled out the numbers for what it would mean to take a job in New York City. There’s barely enough room on the back of the envelope for subtracting the double-dose income tax hit from the city and state, and that’s before even adjusting for cost of living.

That’s one of the reasons I’m in Dallas. You know, Texas, the state that parlayed this year’s census data into four new House seats — pinching the two lost by the Empire State — because people actually want to live here.

Lots of Texas professionals love New York this way: fly in for $200 round trip, suck down the city’s beefy marrow of culture for a weekend and jet back to live cheap and pay no income tax. It’s all the pleasure and we keep our treasure.

Folks are voting with their pocketbooks; between 2000 and 2008, $846 million of New York’s personal income saddled up and jingle-jangled down to the Lone Star State.

As an ex New Yorker it really saddens me. I miss the city I grew up in but the because of the expensive cost, taxes, lack of economic opportunity and Islamic presence, I would never return. Until New York City gets real leadership, it’s on a  downward spiral. It would not shock me if in 10-15 years, it resembles Dearborn with calls to prayer heard regularly and people living off public assistance. The great dynamic New York is a thing of the past and only the elite will enjoy living there.

Bin Laden destroyed more than the Twin Towers on 9/11, he destroyed the soul of a city with the assistance of Mike Bloomberg.

Breaking News: Bloomberg’s office helped 9/11 Mosque

Mayor Mike Bloomberg is a supporter of Islamic colonialism. He lobbied for Islamic immigrants to settle in New York. He supported the Muslims taking over New York’s cart vendor businesses and disgusting Halal food has now replaced delicious Kosher food. In short he is a viceroy for the Islamization of America. Not only did Bloomberg backed the 9/11 ground zero Islamic colonial center, but actively promoted it!

Dozens of e-mails between Mayor Bloomberg’s aides and developers of the proposed mosque near Ground Zero reveal a cordial, if not downright cozy, relationship and the length to which a top city staffer went to help the project — even drafting a letter for the group soliciting support from the community board, and providing the fax number to send it.

In one exchange, Community Affairs Commissioner Nazli Parvizi penned the draft of a letter to be sent by Daisy Khan, a key sponsor of the project known alternately as Cordoba House or Park51, to the chairperson of Community Board 1, Julie Menin, as the panel prepared to vote on its recommendation on the project.

The letter drafted by Parvizi thanked Menin for being open-minded about the plan for a mosque and cultural center — which by then had become a flashpoint issue around the nation.
This is why this nation is in trouble. Our elites are supporting the enemy. Mike Bloomberg is  a traitor and he deserves no respect.

Update: The US governmnet is allowing American companies to circumvent snactions with Iran.

WASHINGTON — The Treasury Department has granted nearly 10,000 special licenses to American companies over the past decade so they could sell some types of products in Iran and other countries the U.S. considers terrorist sponsors, The New York Times reported Thursday.

Companies such as Kraft Food and Pepsi and some of the largest U.S. banks benefited, the newspaper said.

The Democrats and the Elitist Rockefeller Republicans are traitors. Also, why is trade with Iran OK, but not Cuba. The answer is obvious, Iran is Islamic and Cuba is Latin-Catholic.
