Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of North and Central America
Office of the Secretariat

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 2nd, 2012

Record of Protest Against the Infringement of Religious Liberty by the Department of Health and Human Services

The Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of North and Central America, which is comprised of the 65 canonical Orthodox bishops in the United States, Canada and Mexico, join their voices with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and all those who adamantly protest the recent decision by the United States Department of Health and Human Services (http://www.hhs.gov/news/press/2012pres/01/20120120a.html), and call upon all the Orthodox Christian faithful to contact their elected representatives today to voice their concern in the face of this threat to the sanctity of the Church’s conscience.

In this ruling by HHS, religious hospitals, educational institutions, and other organizations will be required to pay for the full cost of contraceptives (including some abortion-inducing drugs) and sterilizations for their employees, regardless of the religious convictions of the employers.

The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees the free exercise of religion. This freedom is transgressed when a religious institution is required to pay for “contraceptive services” including abortion-inducing drugs and sterilization services that directly violate their religious convictions. Providing such services should not be regarded as mandated medical care. We, the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops, call upon HHS Secretary Sebelius and the Obama Administration to rescind this unjust ruling and to respect the religious freedom guaranteed all Americans by the First Amendment.

A Glimpse Into Your Obama Care Future

This article from the UK is just a glimpse of what will happen in the US under Obama Care. Wait times to see your doctor will go into months, by then you will be dead or that flu will have become full blown pneumonia. Or those meds you needed to have adjusted will cause you to pass out while driving. There will be less and less American trained doctors practicing. They either won’t be able to keep their practices running because of lower payouts per visit/procedure without any tort reform to lower their insurance rates and/or the patient to doctor ratio will get so high that they will burn out trying to see enough patients to keep their offices in the black. And then there will be a ‘crisis’. This crisis will  play like this: We aren’t producing enough Doctors! Let’s import some!

This has already happened in England, then comes the replacement doctors from some third world rat hole who only got his medical degree because uncle Achmed bribed the local politician to get his nephew in. The Third World doctors will be more than happy to practice here at a cut rate just to get out of where they are now. This will break the back of the American Doctor’s and ruin them as a political force against the government health care by bureaucracy. So what you say? The American Medical System provides just about all of the major medical break throughs in medicine and procedures because the free market encourages these advances. These advances probably already saved your life or the life of someone you know. This will come to a screeching halt.

The loss of independent high quality American doctors to low quality, poorly trained, yet compliant to the government, foreign trained doctors is part of the plan, you can take that to the bank. It doesn’t take a genius to prescribe some opiates and a wheel chair while you wait for that hip replacement that will never happen at your age, and hey, if he messes up and kills you in your retirement, well, that’s less the government has to pay out. And there is a bonus, they will tow the government line and never fight back for the patient for fear of losing their visa. Think this is hyperbole? It is already FACT in the UK, and is part of the larger Obama Care plan here.

It’s bad enough that we have exported our manufacturing to China. Now we are in effect going to export our health care to Pakistan.

Shortage of family doctors leaves health care in crisis
The NHS is facing a chronic shortage of family doctors after official figures showed some GPs were responsible for 9,000 patients.
By Rowena Mason,
More than a million people were registered with a GP who served more than 3,000 patients, almost twice the average list size of 1,600.

Experts warned that doctors with vast numbers of patients might not be providing the best service, with their practices seeing poorer care and longer waiting times.

The figures show the worst surgeries for securing a doctor’s appointment within two days have 50 per cent more patients per GP than the average practice.

Leading doctors warned that the problem was likely to be exacerbated by reforms planned by Andrew Lansley, the Health Secretary.

Dr Michael Dixon, chairman of the NHS Alliance, which represents the UK’s primary care trusts, said it was a question of whether doctors were “able to cater as well for each patient with a list once they get much over 2,000 or 3,000”…

“We’re not producing enough GPs as opposed to specialists,” he said. “Our workforce is in the wrong place. It’s in hospital whereas it needs to be in the community. This is already beginning to show and it will get worse over the next year or so.”

England has 25,000 family doctors, but there are growing concerns that the NHS faces a retirement crisis. According to a survey by the British Medical Association published in June, one in eight GPs is planning to retire within two years.

A third of that group raised concerns about NHS reforms while pay freezes, pension changes and increasing workloads were also significant factors.

The shortages have been exacerbated by the retirement of a generation of Asian GPs who came to Britain during the 1960s and 1970s.

The search for replacements is hindered by restrictions under which the NHS is only allowed to employ foreign doctors if there are no suitable staff in Britain or the European Union.

By Asian, they mean Pakistanis who came in to fill the gap left by less Britons going to Med School becasue it simply wasn’t worth it under socialized medicine.

Romney advisers helped create Obamacare

Many people have pointed out the similarities between Obamacare and Romneycare. Well it turns out that Obama’s team did model Obamcare on Romney’s plan. They even consulted some of Romney’s advisers to create Obamacare.

Newly obtained White House records provide fresh details on how senior Obama administration officials used Mitt Romney’s landmark health-care law in Massachusetts as a model for the new federal law, including recruiting some of Romney’s own health care advisers and experts to help craft the act now derided by Republicans as “Obamacare.”

The records, gleaned from White House visitor logs reviewed by NBC News, show that senior White House officials had a dozen meetings in 2009 with three health-care advisers and experts who helped shape the health care reform law signed by Romney in 2006, when the Republican presidential candidate was governor of Massachusetts. One of those meetings, on July 20, 2009, was in the Oval Office and presided over by President Barack Obama, the records show.

“The White House wanted to lean a lot on what we’d done in Massachusetts,” said Jon Gruber, an MIT economist who advised the Romney administration on health care and who attended five meetings at the Obama White House in 2009, including the meeting with the president. “They really wanted to know how we can take that same approach we used in Massachusetts and turn that into a national model.”

Mitt Romney is a Progressive. He will be the doom of Conservatism.
