If You Think The Democrats Are Running From Obamacare Now, Just Wait Till October

In the never ending game of, “is the conservative, evil, stupid, senile, or crazy,” Sarah Palin drew the stupid card, and they even made a movie about her to prove it. Game Change showed us a Palin so vapid, and simultaneously vacuous, that I honestly believed that Ed Harris, the guy playing John McCain, would at one point knock her over and begin using her as a kettle drum. The great quote from the movie was Sarah saying, “we have to win this race so I won’t have to go back to Alaska,” nice. Something happened on the way to labeling Sarah stupid though. Each of the, “dumb things,” Sarah said during that campaign, have either come true or been proven correct.

So while we all have a laugh at the Woman not properly vetted to take the Oath of Office, and worse yet, not fit to lead, let’s grab a quick glimpse of the guy who actually was elected as our nation’s number two, before we continue.

After the election, Sarah Palin penned in early 2009, an op-ed in which she passionately argued against the passage of Obamacare. During that impassioned plea, she described the cold realities which would await Americans when facing, “Death Panels.” The usage of that term of course threw the political left into a tizzy. “Sarah is just plain stupid, that she would try to scare Americans into believing such a crazy thing.” Of course, those panels are called, “Independent Payment Advisory Boards,” and the phrase, “Death Panels,” itself comes from the British Citizens, who dubbed their counterpart of that particular piece of our legislation as such. It is a derogatory term for a body of bureaucrats making life and death decisions for all of us, not based upon medical considerations, but upon bureaucratic ones instead. What brings it all home is the fact that when ever pressed about the moronic economics of Obamacare, the left always pointed to Britain as one of their shining examples of how well the law would work, and indeed was already working in other industrialized nations.

The first glimpse of the Death Panel reality can be seen by clicking the link.

Rolain was diagnosed with the tumor in early 2014 and was unable to receive treatment for months because of enrollment problems with the state’s Obamacare exchange, Nevada Health Link, Rolain’s husband Robert said in a June press conference.

Robert Rolain said his wife’s tumor went from treatable to fatal as they awaited coverage. Following multiple enrollment issues, the couple bought insurance through Xerox. The plan was supposed to begin in March, but Xerox miscommunicated its start date so the couple didn’t know they had coverage until May, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Las Vegas insurance broker Pat Casale, who helped Rolain with the enrollment issues, told the Review-Journal that he knows multiple people who are “in serious need of care” but aren’t receiving it despite the fact that they’ve paid premiums.

We have now had our first death-by-government-bureaucracy casualty of Obamacare. But, like every good leftist knows, one death is a tragedy, and a million deaths are a statistic. Right now, Linda Rolain’s death is a tragedy, and one that could have been avoided, death by Obamacare. Fear not my fellow comrades of the land formerly reserved for the free and brave, by this time next year, she’ll have been joined by many others, thus completing that short walk from tragedy to statistic. Sorry Linda, you’re only the first in an eerily long and depressing line.

Milton Friedman once quipped that if you wanted to rid the desert of sand, all you’d need to do would be to appoint some government bureaucrat the task of keeping sand in the desert. Welcome to that desert my fellow good subjects, the sand I speak of is what’s left of the world’s greatest health care system. And as hard as this news may be to hear, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

As unpopular as this law is, the really scary stuff hasn’t even hit yet. That loud and palpable convulsion America experienced in November of last year, when about 8 Million or so people nation wide were unceremoniously informed that they couldn’t keep their plans, doctors, or facilities, that they liked, will seem like the happy days when almost a third of Americans felt Barack Obama was really good at his job.

Insurers have already started to dribble out the really good news that premiums will be skyrocketing due to out of control costs inflicted by adding a massive money sucking infrastructure with out benefit to a system that was operating well enough to actually make 85% of Americans happy with its function. Come to think of it, what institution in our nation’s history besides health care could ever have made that claim?

The problem of course is that those cost curves aren’t coming down, at least not in the land known as reality.

Insurers got a close look at the profiles of the enrollees in the individual health-insurance market this spring, and they turned out to be sicker than projected, as the “young invincibles” took a pass on ObamaCare in 2014. That means that premiums will go up in the fall in order to cover the added expense of the higher-risk enrollments — and that has the Obama administration spin team working extra hard this summer to cover their rear ends just before the midterms:

Even the upcoming rate hikes that almost everyone in the nation will face this year however is only a side show annoyance in this colossally bad idea made national law. the true devastation will occur when and if the employer mandate ever kicks in. It’s been pushed back once already, and something tells me that the Democrats holding office in Washington will try to delay it through at least the 2016 Presidential Election. Those 8 Million dropped subjects will seem like small potatoes indeed when the vehicle by which a vast majority of our number becomes too encumbering to keep in place.

Buy stock in companies that produce pitch forks and torches. When 200 Million Americans lose their health care coverage, because compliant plans that won’t be designed to actually pay benefits make the fines cheaper than the, “coverage,” something tells me that they’ll be plenty upset.

Just as a side note: Maybe instead of debating about what to do with the new crisis caused by our petulant man child President along our Southern border, we should be worried about the adoption of the very economic system that made their original nations such hell holes as our own economic system. Change it back please!

Watch for the spin when this one breaks folks. A software bug is going to be blamed for the number that are finally reported on the Obamacare enrollment numbers.

Software Bug Implicated in Massive Duplication of Obamacare Enrollees: Actual Enrollment Less Than 4 Million

Initial reports from an independent audit of the Obamacare enrollment records has revealed bad news for the Obama administration. While it was initially reported that enrollment had exceeded the goal of 7 million individuals, it appears that as many as 3 million of those enrollees may simply be duplicated names.

This shocking miscount was revealed in an independent audit performed by the accounting firm Bryce and Brynwalter. In their report, which will be released publicly next week, the firm details the massive miscount and offers some insights as to how it occurred.

While the details remain unclear, it appears that the duplications arose as a result of the enrollment software mishandling middle names and middle initials. Enrollees that entered their middle name or middle initial were logged twice. For example, John T. Smith would be logged both as John Smith and as John T. Smith.

Everyone with two or more functional braincells knew that Obama was lying when he claimed that Obamacare had reached it’s target goal of signing up 7 million people. Hell, even Obama knew he was lying.

And if you are wondering why all of a sudden Kathleen Sebelius is being fired, err, resigning, wonder no more.

Sebelius to resign as secretary of HHS

So they hit their target of seven million sign-ups and she’s still out the door before the dust settles, eh? Seems … not so triumphant.

Allegedly she jumped rather than waiting to be pushed, but the Times catches something I missed last week. She wasn’t at the Rose Garden ceremony where O declared Mission Accomplished after they hit seven million. Hard to believe she wouldn’t want to be there to join the victory lap after taking so much grief from so many sides for so long over the website. Was she not invited?

Officials said Ms. Sebelius, 65, made the decision to resign and was not forced out. But the frustration at the White House over her performance had become increasingly clear, as administration aides worried that the crippling problems at HealthCare.gov, the website set up to enroll Americans in insurance exchanges, would result in lasting damage to the president’s legacy…

Last month, Ms. Sebelius approached Mr. Obama and began a series of conversations about her future, Mr. McDonough said. The secretary told the president that the March 31 deadline for sign-ups under the health care law — and rising enrollment numbers — provided an opportunity for change, and that he would be best served by someone who was not the target of so much political ire, Mr. McDonough said.

“What was clear is that she thought that it was time to transition the leadership to somebody else,” he said. “She’s made clear in other comments publicly that she recognizes that she takes a lot of the incoming. She does hope — all of us hope — that we can get beyond the partisan sniping.”

Sure… she voluntarily resigned, after promising that she would be around long after November. This is called damage control. The Obamanation Administration knows that the truth is coming out and want to have Sebelius safely out of office and beyond the reach of a congressional subpoena.

Addendum: Is this Obama Waco/Ruby Ridge, or the start of a new American Revolutionary/Civil War?

A fight is brewing in Nevada and it looks to have the potential for bloodshed on a par with the Waco and Ruby ridge Massacres.

Militias head to Nevada rancher’s standoff with feds: We’re not ‘afraid to shoot’

Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy’s decades-long battle against the federal government over grazing rights has heated to the point where militia groups have joined in and taken up spots against the feds who’ve circled his land — and talk is, they’re not afraid to open fire.

A spokesman for the one of the militia groups said as much to local 8 News Now: I’m not “afraid to shoot,” he said.

Margaret Houston, Mr. Bundy’s sister and a cancer survivor, said at a town hall gathering this week that the situation “was like a war zone” and that she felt “like I was not in the United States,” The Daily Mail reported.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal described it this way: “Serious bloodshed was narrowly avoided,” in a story about how dogs were unleashed on a woman who was pregnant while the rancher’s son was hit with a taser.

On Tuesday, armed Bureau of Land Management agents stormed Mr. Bundy’s property, escalating a court dispute that’s wound for two decades over the rancher’s refusal to pay for grazing fees.

Mr. Bundy’s view is that he owns his property — that it’s been in his family’s hands for centuries — and he doesn’t have to pay for his own 900-head of cattle to graze on the 600,000 acre Gold Butte property.

The government, meanwhile, says the land belongs to it, and agents have swooped and circled, closing off roadway access to the property and flying helicopters overhead the family’s home.

The Feral government is spoiling for a fight, they didn’t buy 6 billions rounds of ammunition for their Schutzstaffel agents just for target practice. How do I know this? Because you don’t use Hollow-point rounds for target practice. Nor am I the only one who thinks that this is the case.

Tea Party Lawmaker: Nev. Cattle Roundup ‘Reminded Me Of Tiananmen Square’

PHOENIX (CBS Las Vegas/AP) — A group of Republican Arizona lawmakers are upset with a brewing showdown in Nevada between the federal government and a rancher who claims rights to graze his cattle in a remote area about 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas.

Rep. Bob Thorpe of Flagstaff said Thursday he is among about three dozen state legislators sending a letter to federal and Nevada officials about the standoff between rancher Cliven Bundy and Bureau of Land Management officials.

Federal officials say Bundy has racked up more than $1.1 million in unpaid grazing fees over the years while disregarding several court orders to remove his animals.

Thorpe says lawmakers aren’t arguing over whether Bundy has broken laws or violated grazing agreements. They’re more concerned with what they perceive as government heavy-handedness and how officials are restricting protesters to “free speech zones” near the closed off federal land.

Tea Party Republican state Rep. Kelly Townsend tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal she was shocked after seeing the video where federal police used a stun gun on one of Bundy’s sons.

“Watching that video last night created a visceral reaction in me,” Townsend told the Review-Journal. “It sounds dramatic, but it reminded me of Tiananmen Square. I don’t recognize my country at this point.”

Political Cartoons by Lisa Benson

Last week we were treated to that special form of Presidential Kabuki Theater that stands out as the one thing that this White House and its little man child President seems adept at. Was there ever any doubt in anybody’s mind that 7 Million Obamacare Enrollees would be the number magically reached? Somehow, as if by divine providence, and after only a cool $684 Million of your taxes allocated on the single most obnoxious advertising campaign ever inflicted upon the public at large, Barack Obama got to spike that number reached football of his, and declare once again that all debate on the issue is now over. It’s a good thing that we’ve talked about this whole myth of Seven Million thing once before. For only in the woozy dream like alternate Unicorn infested Universe inhabited by Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid, would a figure that sees a mere 15% of those mandated by law to sign up for product touted as free by our government actually do so, would such a farce be considered a success. Next week, April 15th will be rolling on by, and last year’s portion of your pay check owed to the federal behemoth will officially be due. My guess is that a vast majority of Americans who are mandated by law to pay that bill will have done so. Does that mean that a majority of Americans love paying their taxes? What would be the result if 85% of the people who owed a tax bill, refused to pay it, or even file? Balanced Budget Amendment inflicted sir, next question please.

As luck would have it, Rasmussen has provided us with a glimpse into the grade the American People have given Obamacare thus far. Here’s a spoiler alert, success is not a word I’d use to describe the mood of the American People now saddled with a $2.7 Trillion bill on something sold to them for the low low cost of $984 Billion. Couple that with the small fact that somewhere in the neighborhood of 6 Million of them who used to have access to health care, no longer can make that claim, thanks to the very act that promised them affordable care would be had by all.

From the TownHall article linked to above:

Just one week after President Obama bragged about a mere 7.1 million Obamacare “enrollees” from the Rose Garden (after asking for a prime time television slot and being denied by all networks), a new poll from Rasmussen shows just 23 percent of Americans believe Obamacare is working.

Few voters consider the new national health care law a success, and most think repeal of the law is likely if Republicans take over Congress in November.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 23% of Likely U.S. Voters view Obamacare as a success so far. Twice as many (46%) describe the health care law as a failure. For 29%, it’s somewhere in between the two.

Now, here’s the bad news. So far, we’ve only been treated to the small potatoes. That’s right my fellow inhabitants of the worker’s paradise formerly known as the land of the free, the loss of coverage, doctors, the increases in premiums, and the hiking of deductibles to a level so high, you’ll never finish paying out of pocket, is not the big bomb this sucker has to drop upon us at all. That mandate was postponed for one more year, and will not officially go into effect until a day after the 2014 midterm elections.

So far, that rumbling you’ve heard was only associated with the individual mandate, and only affected those who did not get their insurance through their employer. This next bomb will be roughly 10 times that size and scope, and at that time, roughly 70% of all Americans, those who still have their same doctor, plan, and access to health care, will suffer the same disruption experienced by 6 Million people this year. My bold prediction, based on the grumbling heard this year, is that anyone stupid enough to spike that Obamacare football at that time will find himself or herself escorted from town via torch and pitchfork.

You may be thinking to yourself that no one would be stupid enough in this environment, and with what we know is going to happen next, to be telling people that they were proud of doing this to us in the first place, and you’d be wrong. Behold my fellow future inhabitants of the reeducation camps, I give you Nancy Pelosi, and her conversation with the ever incompetent and obnoxious Candy Crowley.

Please bear in mind when you listen to Nancy’s math, that our population totals over 400 Million people, and all those not included in her numbers are now well and truly screwed.

Also, pay close attention to the first 10 seconds of Nancy’s pontification, as those seconds are telling.

There was something said by San Fran Nan in that clip which I did find interesting. Beyond her promise that Democrats would plant their flag on Mt. Obamacare for 2014 and beyond, despite the empirical evidence to the contrary, she’s also noticed that Robert Gibbs, the former Press Secretary replaced by Jay Carney, who’s also decided to leave, has predicted another delay of the coming employer mandate. Mr. Gibbs it would seem, believes that our President, filled with a political courage not seen since Neville Chamberlain, might be inclined to put off for one more year, telling 280 Million Americans officially that they can not keep their plans, doctors, ability to seek treatment, or even find adequate replacements for the same. Nancy also took the opportunity to speculate as to why a once trusted ally would dare to speak such treason. Her diagnosis? Yep, he’s been paid off by the Koch Brothers. Astounding is a word that comes to mind. I’m blown away by such an astute analysis, and even more blown away by the fact that CNN’s barely sentient hostess decided not to question the theory in the slightest. Now, that’s objective reporting! I can surely see why Fox is so thoroughly trashed by the political left as being Faux News. With hard hitting reporting like that, I am forced to conclude that there’s nothing to see here, or anywhere.

I don’t know what worries me more, that CNN a supposed member of our watch dog media has accepted the premise that any who dare to speak out against this monstrosity must have been a paid stooge, or the fact that in 7 months time, 280 Million more Americans will lose any hope of seeking medical services, as mandated by law, and they have failed to ask one single question of the woman most responsible for seeing this through as to how this would in any way be helpful while she was sitting in their hot seat.

Now, I can understand that Nancy Pelosi is who would be representative of the people of San Francisco. There’s precious little beyond mutant hippies living there anymore. But our story doesn’t exactly end there, does it? After all, the rest of the Democrats in the House have made this bubble headed zombie their queen, and any who believe in the mythical creature called the conservative Democrat should take a good look. You’ll have a better chance of finding a Bigfoot or a Chupacabra. Just ask Bart Stupak’s former constituents. (Those of you from West Virginia should be regretting Joe Manchin just about now.)

Political Cartoons by Glenn McCoy

During a previous life, I managed stores for the F.W. Woolworth Company. One day I got, “promoted,” to a store where the previous manager had been fired. His offense was that he was basically, “Bozo the Clown.” The Regional Director who put me into the store came to visit me about a week into my tenure there, and beat the living daylights out of me. He knew that the problems that I faced there were not of my doing, and he knew further that it was going to take longer than a week to clean things up. The store had organizational problems, operational problems, merchandising problems, and most importantly resembled Beirut after the trouble started. As he left, and believe me, I’d never been so happy to see a person leave, he looked at me and said, “don’t let yourself get down. None of this is your fault, but that does not change the fact that you’re responsible for it now. You have six months where the suits will be willing to cut you a little slack. After that, they’ll expect to see tangible results. It won’t matter at that point whether six months is a reasonable amount of time or not, that’s just the expiration date on patience. My job is to see that you beat that deadline and get things turned around before the suits run out of patience.” His message to me was that as the top guy in the store, everything right or wrong with the store at that time, was my personal responsibility. I had ownership of all the right and wrong within that operation, and if I wanted the top spot, I had to live with that ownership. I went a full year without a day off, and actually managed to go through my first of several divorces while in beautiful Pontiac, Michigan.

There is an iconic photograph which has over the years since its capture, been used to highlight the relationships between current and past Presidents. The photo below, actually won a Pulitzer Prize in 1962. What is somewhat lesser known however, is the story behind it.

The photo was taken at a widely publicized meeting between John Kennedy and Dwight Eisenhower shortly after the, “Bay of Pigs,” fiasco. President Kennedy, like all Presidents with the unfortunate exception of George W. Bush, was an avid watcher of the polls, in particular how Americans in general felt about the job he was doing as our Chief Executive. The meeting in question was staged mostly as a photo op. President Kennedy wanted to be seen by the public as a President who was willing to consult with well respected advisers, especially when his ill advised operation blew up in such a spectacular fashion.

During the meeting, President Kennedy remarked, “all I did was to follow your plan.” Former President and General Eisenhower quickly corrected the younger Kennedy with the following statement. “Excuse me Mr. President, but it ceased being my plan on January 20, 1961. At that time sir, it became your plan.” He then went on to point out some of the finer details which were changed significantly since the changes in administration, and how those small changes changed significantly the results of the operation, and included a bit about the importance for a Commander in Chief to weigh carefully the advice of his field Commanders. But the important part of the conversation, and one that every President must live by remains this:

Excuse me Mr. President, but it ceased being my plan on January 20, 1961. At that time sir, it became your plan.

Every time some well deserved criticism of the current President finds its way to the arena of ideas, we’ll hear the refrains of, “yeah but.” The, “yeahbuts,” as I like to call them all have one major theme in mind. It wasn’t the Bamster’s fault, as former Presidents did the same thing, started what ever program it was that has everybody peeved, was left a mess, is less guilty than his predecessors, or just hasn’t had ample time to fix all of the problems yet.

I do have some specific examples in mind, and these are mostly related to tripe I’ve listened to recently.

“The NSA domestic spying program is merely a continuation of a Bush Administration Program.”

The answer is yes it is, however leaving it there is an intellectual dishonesty that bears scrutiny. While it is true that the Patriot Act gives the Department of Homeland Security permission to seek warrants for wiretaps based upon the lowered threshold of Reasonable Suspicion, and that the FISA Court has no oversight, no appeals process attached to it worthy of mention, and no opportunity for those accused to confront their accusers or materially defend themselves in any way, equating the Bush usage of FISA with the Obama usage of this program is worse than comparing apples to oranges. First off, under the Bush Program, and as wrong as the whole thing is, his Administration at least used the Reasonable Suspicion threshold to obtain those warrants. For each and every Bush Administration warrant, a specific target was named, based upon previous investigation. Many of our wins were a result of those warrants, including the Obama spiking of the Bin Laden football, repeatedly during the run up to the 2012 election. That is a far cry from Barack Obama’s blanket warrant to tap the phones and cell phones of every man, woman, and child in the United States of America. Equating the two is beyond intellectual dishonesty, and moves into the realm of flat out deceptive. It does however highlight a terrible reality, and that is what ever brilliant idea is set up by one President does not disappear during the inauguration of the next. It is still possible that a Bill Clinton might follow a Ronald Reagan. Any program of government, no matter how well intentioned, can be turned into a force for evil, and as Barack Obama has shown us, with seeming lightning speed.

Two of the more pernicious comparisons involve the left’s most hated President, Ronald Reagan.

First we have the great Reagan raised taxes 11 times myth.

This piece of crapola has been debunked so many times, and yet continues to raise its ugly head any time economic debate crops up, that I think the rumor was started as an effort to cast Reagan in George Romero’s next Living Dead effort. This of course got its Frankenstein like creation with the 1986 Tax Reform Act. In that piece of landmark legislation that saw our top marginal tax rate dropped from percentages in the 70’s to 33%, also saw the elimination of several deductions, many of which were not designed to aid businesses in classifying true costs of their operations as costs, but were instead designed to tweak behavior contrary to what pure market conditions might otherwise dictate. Relaxation of those silly cafe standards, deregulation of trucking and rail industry which allowed for trucking companies that did not trucking at all to earn Millions in phantom profits, not offering tax credits to produce goods and services that would be otherwise ignored by a market place left free from political whimsy were all achieved through this legislation. That simplification of the tax code is what is being referred to as, “Reagan’s 11 tax increases.” It is a lie, and not a very clever lie at that.

The other bit of dishonesty is the comparison of the number of Executive Orders issued. During his State of the Union Address this year, President Zero announced that should the House refuse to simply acquiesce to his lordship’s desires, he would use his phone and pen, (which he possesses by the way,) to simply skirt the Constitutional limits placed upon any President and issue his decrees via executive fiat. The thought of a President appointing himself a despot goes against every founding principle of our nation, and is something that most Americans are staunchly against. (The hard core sycophants of both major political parties are all in favor of this when it is their guy occupying the big desk, but will whine like stuck pigs when that spot is taken by the other guy’s chosen favorite son.) Not all Executive Orders are of the despotic stripe however. Bear that in mind when you hear this next bit of lunacy. It would seem the the latest strategy is to point out that Ronald Reagan actually signed his name to more Executive Orders than Barack Obama has at this point in either man’s Administration.

All executives, in any organization, must issue dictates as to how they will enforce the policies within the purview of what they administrate. Ronald Reagan signing an Executive Order that limits coffee breaks of federal employees to two per day at 15 minutes each is in no way the equivalent to Barack Obama signing an order that expands the scope and authority of the EPA beyond any constraint placed upon it by Congress when that agency was established. There is a vast difference between demanding that a new federal form be implemented that seeks to further financial scrutiny involving miscellaneous expenses supported by tax payers and one that grants the Department of Education authority to use armed teams to affect the arrest of people delinquent with their student loan repayment. (That last one has already happened for real by the way, just in case anyone got the bright idea to label the sentiment hyperbole.) As a matter of fact, not a single one of Reagan’s Executive Orders, voluminous as they are, has been called into question here, which leads me to believe that they couldn’t find any actual examples of nefarious behavior on the part of our 40th President.

One of the Articles of Impeachment drawn up against Richard Nixon was for his mere mention of using the IRS to thwart the activities of his political adversaries. Barack Obama has crossed that line, and actually used the IRS as his personal campaign tool. I believe that he should be impeached and found guilty of the actual crime that he’s committed. I know that it won’t happen, which is shameful. At some point in time, the Political Left in this nation should be held to some small accounting of the actions that they take. I know that what I’ll get instead is some statement that some Republican Assembly Person in some city will have made some politically incorrect statement, and the whole world will lose its collective mind. Then we’ll see several former self styled conservatives who have taken that as the last straw in a world gone mad, and will lament the Republican Party’s unfortunate shift to the world of crazy radicalism. In the meantime, incandescent light bulbs are becoming illegal to produce and sell, cafe standards are making it twice as expensive to drive cars as a free market would otherwise dictate, soda pop is under assault by the food Nazis, and farmers are forced to treat spilled milk in the exact same fashion as an industrial chemical spill.

The bottom line is that there are vast differences in how the various duties of President have been executed between Barack Obama, and every other person to have held the position. While many of his actions might appear to be the same as previous Presidents, the fact is that the specifics do matter, and they matter a lot.
