Excellent German engineering from Dresden. Get me on the roof, and gimme a couple thousand purple marbles. I’ll record it, post it on the Utoobage, and I guarantee it’ll get more hits than the guy formally known as the Artist formally known as the person formally known as someone else.

And speaking of marbles, don’t lose yours on the Overnight Open Thread.

[Last chance to enter The Contest. Post your entries by midnight tonight, Pacific Standard Time, and we’ll put up a poll this weekend to determine the wiener. –Bunk]

I want to thank all you folks who helped reseat the header beam over the stairs to the basement last Saturday night. When I went downstairs to bring up a fresh keg, the floor and wall were throbbing to the music, and not in a good way.

Coulda been very dangerous, so we reseated the header and installed drag straps and hold downs. We’ve moved the main sound system to the basement, and  installed a bar down there as well. We’re thinking of installing a dumbwaiter for nachos and poutines. Oh, yeah, there’s a new potty room right behind the bar counter.

Not pointing fingers at all, stuff like this happens. After all it’s an old house that was never designed for an Overnight Open Thread.

Wide World of Sports

When I was a kid I loved watching The Wide World of Sports each Saturday, especially for the intro where the same ski jumper racked himself over and over. I really pity that guy, because he became the embodiment of “the agony of defeat,” and the whole world saw his famous ignosecond and groaned. Every week.

Although he walked away with only a mild concussion, Vinko Bogataj‘s name is relegated to trivia games and the occasional Overnight Open Thread.

[Update: Waldensianspirit found this link to Vinko Bogotaj’s artworks. I like it.]

After seeing this post, I remembered that I had another image of Dukiskak on the campaign trail in the Stack o’ Stupid file, and after the Blogmocracy Radio Show it’s time for the Overnight Open Thread.
