Bin Laden’s death will restore the Obama Boom

Lately the once heralded and historic Obama Boom has been on the ropes. Inflation is raging thus raising the cost of living. Wages have declined or remain flat, leading to declining living standards. The economy grew at an anemic 1.8% last quarter. Even people who were hyping the economy were beginning to have doubts. Now, with the killing of Osama Bin Laden, they are proclaiming the comeback of the Obama Boom!

Though the market saw little initial effect from Osama bin Laden’s killing, some analysts say the news could have a significant long-term impact on the U.S. economy.

Economists and money managers see bin Laden’s death as a potential psychological pivot point away from the “Lost Decade” of low confidence and recession ushered in by the Sept. 11th terrorist attacks.

“It’s such an emotional event. There is a chance we will look back at this as the marker where the corner was turned,” said James Paulsen, chief investment strategist at Wells Capital Management. “We screwed up on WMD, we backed out of Iraq. We don’t know what we are really doing in Afghanistan. We had a terrible mortgage crisis. Maybe this is the moment when the national psyche changes. This is emotional enough that people may say, ‘The U.S. is back.’ And sometimes that is what it takes to get people investing and hiring.”

So Osama Bin Laden was the reason the economy was anemic the last 10 years? Wow I never knew he had that much power. I guess globalization, debt accumulation, fiscal irresponsibility (Both Parties) and the housing bubble burst had nothing to do with it. Now with Bin Laden dead the economy will roar!

The Obama Boom is back!

What a joke! These Progressives are really reaching with this.

Obama plans to use political capital from Osama Killing

I knew this would happen. Barack Hussein Obama is planning to use the Osama killing to promote his agenda. He is now playing the role of national savior, which is right out of the 3rd World Liberation playbook. This role he will play will be used to silence opposition to his rule. In the debt ceiling battle, he will play the Osama card against the GOP.

“Bin Laden is the single greatest thing in his presidency so far to feed into his long game,” said a senior Democratic operative, referring to Obama’s effort to portray himself as a responsible adult surrounded by political toddlers.

[….]

In the short term, Obama has been given a boost just in time for his battle with congressional Republicans over the deficit and the debt ceiling. By defining the bin Laden raid as a chance to rekindle the bipartisan spirit present after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks — as he has repeatedly since Sunday night — he is practically daring the GOP to shatter the new era of good feeling during this week’s tough negotiations over the deficit.

At a bipartisan dinner Monday night at the White House, Obama made the case for comity, the bedrock of his reelection pitch to independents in 2012.

“Obviously we’ve all had disagreements and differences in the past. I suspect we’ll have them again in the future,” he said after a day of rapid-fire disclosures about the bloody firefight at bin Laden’s compound 35 miles north of Islamabad.

“But last night, as Americans learned that the United States had carried out an operation that resulted in the capture and death of Osama bin Laden, we” — and here he was interrupted by applause — “you know, I think we experienced the same sense of unity that prevailed on 9/11. We were reminded again that there is a pride in what this nation stands for, and what we can achieve, that runs far deeper than party, far deeper than politics.”

The Republican leadership is already afraid of Obama, imagine now with the Bin Laden killing. Boehner and his Eunuchs need to grow a pair and take Obama on. He is counting on the role of national savior for his 2012 election. Obama should not be allowed to play this role.

An Iraqi connection led to finding Bin Laden

Despite evidence that Saddam and Iraqi intelligence had ties to l-Qaeda, The Left called Iraq a distraction. The truth is that Saddam had given safe haven to various Al-Qaeda operatives like Zarqawi. Iran and Syria as well have assisted Al-Qaeda. After 9/11 the US was justified in attacking any one of these 3 after Afghanistan. The invasion of Iraq was justified. The Wilsonian Democracy spreading nonsense that we tried to implement was what led to the mess that place became. China and France got the oil contracts, the US got nothing out of the war. The Christian population was cut in half and the US did nothing. In retrospect, I would have opposed the war since it became some Progressive project, not putting a boot around the neck of our enemies. However, the invasion of Iraq, actually led to the capture of Osama Bin Laden.

In 2004, about six weeks after the capture of Saddam Hussein, Kurdish police nabbed a high-ranking al-Qaida operative named Hassan Ghul in a town near the Iranian border. It wasn’t long before Ghul was telling CIA interrogators about one of the organization’s couriers, who used the nom-de-guerre of Abu Ahmed al-Kuwaiti.

“Hassan Ghul was the linchpin” in finding and killing Osamabin Laden, a U.S. official told The Associated Press on Monday. Ghul told the United States that the Kuwaiti-born Pakistani now known to have been Sheikh Abu Ahmed, who was killed along with the terrorist chieftain he served on Monday by U.S. Navy SEALs, was a crucial figure within al-Qaida.

[…]

Ghul may have been next-to-unknown to Americans, but not to Newsmax readers. As early as March 8, 2004, Newsmax featured a newswire story  noting that Ghul was found with “a strategic memo from Abu Mussab al-Zarqawi, the mysterious terror leader allegedly behind the bombings of Shiites in Iraq.” And that “Ghul also yielded intel on bin Laden’s position.”

Iraq was a mix bag. Militarily it was a success and it killed some of Al-Qaeda’s best fighters. However it proved that spreading Democracy in the Islamic world is a fool’s errand. If the invasion assisted us in getting information on where Bin Laden was, that is one aspect that should be considered a success.
