I know there’s a lot of us here who are, or have served, in our great military. There are a lot of businesses offering active duty and retired military service members free meals and great deals to those of us who served and defended our country this Veterans day, 11-11-11. Some have already started.

Businesses such as Applebees, Chili’s, Golden Corral, Outback Steakhouse, T.G.I. Fridays (BOGO free), Subway, The Olive Garden, and Hooters are offering free meals or appetizers to all active duty service members and veterans. Proof of military service is usually required. Click on the link below to see the businesses participating by offering free meals and discounts on merchandise, admissions, etc.

One thing I did notice is that clothier Jos. A. Bank is offering a discount to all active duty and retired military, but that scum-sucking, Obama-loving, piece of crap George Zimmer, who closed some of his Men’s Wearhouse stores to show his support of the occutard swine parasites polluting some American cities, has no Veteran’s Day offers.

We all need to remember that when we need suits, dress shirts, etc.

2011 Veteran’s Day Free Meals and Discounts

Two notes before jumping in:

Proof of Military Service. First, most companies require some form of military ID – including a U.S. Uniform Services ID Card (active/reserve/retired), Current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), Photograph in uniform, be wearing uniform (if your service permits), Veterans Organization Card (e.g., American Legion and VFW), DD214, discharge paperwork, or other form of identification. Other restaurants and companies may only require a photo of you in uniform, or go by the honor system.

Participation. Second, always call ahead to verify locations, times, and participation. Many of the listed companies are franchises and may have different policies. We will do our best to keep this page updated as we find new info.

Say Goodbye To the “Monica”!

FINALLY! The US Army makes the right decision and, effective immediately, the berets which soldiers wore as part of their regular duty uniforms for ten years will be returned to their distinctive places of honor:
The Rangers – Black
Special Forces – Green
Airborne – Maroon
Pictured at right is the Patrol Cap which is now the new headgear for normal duty. And it’s about time! The old beret was, in some circles, derisively referred to as the “Monica”. It never fit in to the Army’s regular ranks. But the beret will still be a part of the formal dress uniform.
To which I reply: Why? Except for the three abovementioned groups, just get rid of the damn thing altogether!
