It would be hard to hold onto a mortgage if one barely qualifies and inflation kicked in. I think there is an initial 3 year mark. Where the homeowner gets an understanding that that point if they can maintain the mortage. Plus people losing jobs.

And hard to hold onto a 4-plex as a landlord if a city puts a moratorium on evictions. 1 bad long term squatter will destroy the investment.

10 year jail sentence in my area. Even if the firing pin is not there.

Had a friend with a minor felony who was in a house that the police searched. They found an old .22 with no firing pin in it in a closet. They arrested him on a felony firearms violation even though the gun wasn’t his and he didn’t know it was there.

The judge and the lawyers had a jones on to give him the minimum 10 year felony sentence. He was lucky and got off on an unrelated techincality.

Felony gun possession is one of the most abused laws in the country. In my state if you had less than honorable discharge from the military there is a lifetime ban on gun ownership. 10 years in jail can come out of a drunken discharge from the military 30 years ago.

All those dystopian novels I read growing up? I had no idea that I’d get old and wind up living in one. These vids and the prancing Blazing Saddles Kansas City boy in the White House, a country with a President suffering from mid to late stage dementia, 1/2 the political leadership who think that there are more than two genders and that biology doesn’t determine gender, and social media corporations who believe that they need to tell the rest of us what to think. This is a really bad dystopian novel

Nope. Huey Louie and Dewey are pant less. So are the rest of the family

Huey, Dewey, and Louie are triplet cartoon characters created by writer Ted Osborne and cartoonist Al Taliaferro, and are owned by The Walt Disney Company. Huey, Dewey, and Louie are the nephews of Donald Duck, sons of Della Duck, the grand-nephews of Scrooge McDuck, and the friends of Webby Vanderquack. Like their maternal uncles, the brothers are anthropomorphic white ducks with yellow-orange bills and feet. They typically wear shirts and colorful baseball caps, which are sometimes used to distinguish them, since Louie always wears green, Huey wears red, and Dewey wears blue. Huey, Dewey, and Louie have made several animated appearances in both films and television, but comics remain their primary medium. The trio are collectively the 11th most published comic book characters in the world, and outside of the superhero genre, second only to their uncle Donald.[1]

    Also Goofy is an exhibitionist.

<i<Tucker Carlson, the host of the most-watched show on prime-time cable news, uses a simple narrative to instill fear in his viewers. To understand how he promotes extremist ideas and conspiracy theories, we analyzed 1,150 episodes. Here’s what we found.

    https://twitter.com/nytimes/status/1520469304176750593

  47. eaglesoars
    47 | May 1, 2022 12:09 am

On Carlson’s show, he pits the “ruling class” (what he often refers to as “they”) against “you,” his viewers, who are part of a Fox News audience that is 92 percent white and overwhelmingly older, according to Nielsen data. “They” threaten everything “you” believe in.

According to Carlson, “they” include Democratic (and some Republican) officials, members of the media, Big Tech executives, academics, sports and Hollywood stars, and others. “They,” he says, don’t care about “you,” “your children” or “your grandchildren.”

Carlson referred to this “ruling class” in more than 800 of his 1,150 episodes from the beginning of his show in November 2016 through 2021, the extent of our analysis. From 2020 on, he pushed this theory in nearly every episode

Carlson has promoted the idea of discrimination against white people (in more than 600 episodes) and has warned of shifts in gender norms that will threaten masculinity and lead to falling birthrates (in more than 200 episodes).

Carlson has used rhetoric related to an unfounded racist conspiracy theory that falling birthrates and immigration are leading to the replacement of white people. Versions of “replacement theory” have been promoted by extremists and have helped inspire mass shootings.

    ———

ok, you get the idea, that’s enough

    interesting

One of the most interesting and beautiful places I ever visited. 2 weeks after the war finished I arrived and spent 2 weeks touring all over the High Veld with my former Kiwi Regular Force Training Officer, latterly of the Rhodesian African Rifles. Still dangerous as not everyone had stopped shooting and the old scores were still being settled in blood.

Winter is fantastic. 22C EVERY day with blue skies and zero wind. The brush has died back and you can get a good look at the animals. There were 3000 + elephants in the country when I was there. Alas they were shot to pieces for sport by the local former guerrillas using AKMs. The whites remained gunned up to the teeth, and Kev would still bring his 7.62 SLR home every evening and Sally had her .38 revolver firing ‘wad-cutters’ under her pillow. She was a kindy teacher and reserve policewoman, with flaming red hair and big blue eyes.

Too bad the whole place degenerated into starvation, Marxism and tribalism.

    ANOTHER food plant fire. Yesterday

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – A fire took place at Perdue Farms facility in the South Norfolk area of Chesapeake Saturday evening.

The Chesapeake Fire Department is currently working on an industrial fire at the grain processing and storage facility.

Firefighters received a call at 501 Barnes Road at 8:41 p.m. after a plant operator at Perdue acknowledged and verified a fire at the location. All employees from the area were evacuated.

When crews arrived they found a large soybean processing tank with flames showing from the top. Firefighters climbed multiple flights of stairs using multiple hose lines to battle the fire.

The fire was called under-control at 9:48 p.m. with no injuries reported.

Soybean products must now be removed from the tank to verify the fire is completely extinguished.

Mining for bitcoin — by far the largest cryptocurrency by market cap — uses staggering amounts of electricity: Last year, Cambridge University researchers calculated that bitcoin consumes approximately 121.36 terawatt-hours annually. That’s more electricity than is used by the 45-million-person country of Argentina, or by Google, Apple, Facebook and Microsoft combined. Last November, a study by the trading education platform Forex Suggest found that just to offset the carbon emissions of bitcoin and ethereum — the second-most-popular cryptocurrency — would require planting 384 million trees every year.

Then he goes to Liverpool hospital to have a semi-permanent drain put in and will be released to go home. Palliative care will be from the specialist palliative care team from Camden hospital with a specialist nurse rising his home daily. No Chemo or surgery just keeping him as comfortable as possible as nature takes its course. The specialist gave him 6-12 months but given the rapidity of the spread it’s more likely to be 3-6 months. I am so very sorry. But I agree with CW – those nurses (we call them hospice nurses – had them for Mom) are un-fucking-believable. Chris could not be in better hands. The family members – wife, children, etc. – who are directly supporting him – are the unsung heroes in this. Helping someone you love die is the hardest job you can ever have.

As for us – we’re fine. Some frustrations with supply chain issues but that’s small beer knowing what others are going thru. Our spending is accelerated beyond what we anticipated because of the supply chain stuff. We replaced the entire HVAC system, new dishwasher and tomorrow a new water heater. We don’t want to have something actually break and have to wait for a replacement, not after it took 6 months to get a new stove in here. Almost everything in here is as old as the house – 13-14 yrs – which is the life cycle of most of this stuff . One of my best friends – my neighbor when we were both in Virginia, she has the pittie, Thor, who I’ve posted about (I’m his godmother) – she’s now in South Carolina. Their house got hit by lightening while they were away for a few days. Destroyed kitchen . It will be a year.

Just pragmatic stuff. For my birthday – did I post this? – I got all the stuff I could possibly want to start taking care of the birds again. The dogs are happy, Hubby has found his watering holes and his part-time gigs, I have my little cottage to manage/plan and my family to nurture.

Two things on my to-do down-the-road list: re-train on the weapons and load up on ammo; and ham radio.

Russians plunder $5M farm vehicles from Ukraine — to find they’ve been remotely disabled

Russian troops in the occupied city of Melitopol have stolen all the equipment from a farm equipment dealership — and shipped it to Chechnya, according to a Ukrainian businessman in the area.

But after a journey of more than 700 miles, the thieves were unable to use any of the equipment — because it had been locked remotely.
Over the past few weeks there’s been a growing number of reports of Russian troops stealing farm equipment, grain and even building materials – beyond widespread looting of residences. But the removal of valuable agricultural equipment from a John Deere dealership in Melitopol speaks to an increasingly organized operation, one that even uses Russian military transport as part of the heist.

    https://www.cnn.com/2022/05/01/europe/russia-farm-vehicles-ukraine-disabled-melitopol-intl/index.html

On one level, that’s really funny. Then I remember that this is what is in Biden’s Build Back Better crap.

A class of small independent self powered satellites based on a 4″ x 4″ standard building block. You can add standard blocks and design your own satellite or allow RocketLabs to design it for you. A 4″x4″ block self satellite will set you back $50,000 Kiwi (USD 33,000) including launch into an orbit of your own choosing. This allows individual small to medium sized companies to launch their own bespoke satellites. To date RocketLabs have successfully launched around 150 satellites of different sizes depending on how many 4″x4″ blocks they choose.

There is a third stage ‘Bus’ that once in orbit will circularise the low Earth orbit and then kick each satellite out in its own preassigned orbit. it then automatically derbies itself and burns up. RocketLabs and a Finish outfit have agreed to provide a service to de-orbit dead satellites and large space junk to clean up the LEO backyard and stop satellite collisions.

Had some damage done down at the beach over ANZAC week. Some scumbag jumped the farm gate from the lane, reached over and opened the side picket gate on the North side. Walked around the return verandah and down the Western steps fronting the beach, then kicked the Southern high wooden side gate off its hinges.

#2 son put in a report with the local CIB as the ‘natives’ have been a little unruly lately with the odd burglary in the bay.

We’ll put in a couple of cameras and a sigh on the farm gate. Just opportunist thieves looking for a low risk mark. In and out in 2 minutes top. If the property looks secure and has protection they just find an easier mark!

Then she’d drop her line. Catfish and Bloody Mary’s for brunch. (Yes, even farmed catfish should be soaked in buttermilk for at least 15 minutes)

I have a question. I don’t know how to think about this. Ukraine IS being armed. From countries all over the world.

That depletes all these countries weapons inventories.

Which you would think would be a boon to the companies that make all these weapons who would be tapped to re-supply those depleted inventories.

But don’t these weapons need chips?

Aren’t there supply chain issues with chips?

    Thoughts?

This is an interesting read from zerohedge. Why is China doing another massive lockdown? In Shanghai of all places? And what else?

The claim is that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is the primary cause, but this is a distraction from the real issue. Yes, sanctions against Russia will eventually lead to less food supply, but the globalists and the media are purposely ignoring the bigger threat, which is currency devaluation and price inflation created by central banks pumping out tens of trillions of dollars in stimulus packages to prop up “too big to fail” corporate partners.

In 2020 alone, the Fed created over $6 trillion from nothing and air dropped it into the economy through covid welfare programs. Add that to the many trillions of dollars that the Fed has printed since the credit crash in 2008 – It has been a nonstop dollar destruction party and now the public is starting to feel the consequences. Lucky for the central bankers that covid struck and Russia invaded Ukraine, because now they can deflect all the blame for the inflationary calamity they have engineered onto the pandemic and onto Putin.

At work, when filling out my annual performance review, I wrote down my goals for generating white papers for the coming year. When I poked the “check comments” button for fun, it came back with “white papers” highlighted and recommended, “You might consider changing the following”. Same thing when I wrote in a goal of “procuring black bodies for a classified lab”. So, just for grins, I tried a few things, no problem with “seeking sources of purple light” or “identity green field screen lenses”.

Fantastic catch. Electron second stage has successfully reached orbit. The ‘Kick stage will burn the Curie engine to lift the orbit to a circular 500 Km stable orbit and then begin a long sequence of throwing nanosats over the side into preselected orbits as defined by each customer. In all there are 36 separate satellites aboard today.

Meantime the Electron Stage #1 under it’s ballet initially and afterwards it’s recovery parachute was successfully snatched from the air by the heavy recovery helicopter and is now winging its way hack to launch site #1 pad #1 where engineers can do the study how they can relaunch it again. This will essentially double the production capability of Rocket Labs and cut costs by a LOT. Even though these launches are a snip at just $5 million a shot!

The transmission resumes shortly from orbit

    Enjoy

The C of G problem will need a few mods and we’ll see if it’ll work as advertised for a mid flight catch next time.

  180. eaglesoars
    182 | May 2, 2022 10:01 pm

A friend comments: “Whatever position you may have on the issue, leaking a draft SCOTUS opinion to try to change the outcome of a case is a new level of brinksmanship that speaks to the hyperpoliticization of law schools and an accompanying valorization of ‘activism’ in higher ed.”

Assuming this was leaked by a clerk, the leaker should never work in law again. It’s a betrayal of the highest order. But, of course, professionalism has proven to be weak sauce indeed when it comes to restraining activism.

More thoughts from Josh Blackman. “The Court should issue the Dobbs opinion as soon as possible. Do it tomorrow. Don’t wait till Thursday, or next Monday, or the end of June. The longer this process drags on, the worse the Court will be . . . if any members of the majority changed their vote in response to the leak, that change will be seen as a direct response to this leak.”

Update On Food Plants: More Fires, FBI Alert, One Off-The-Wall Explanation

Last week, PJ Media reported on the suspicious number of food processing plants, factories, logistics centers, and other industrial food facilities across the U.S. that had burned, exploded, or had planes crash on them. In the past week, more accidents have occurred, the FBI has issued a warning, possible motives have emerged, and one company offered a rather implausible explanation for the destruction of their facility. At this point, we still have more questions than answers.

Now the fact-checkers have come out in force, so we know there’s nothing to worry about. Right?

    …OH Valley…
Late morning showers/storms over OH will continue to move northeast
into the upper OH Valley through midday while weakening, as a
mid-level low/trough moves from the mid MS Valley to the southern
Great Lakes during the period. In the wake of this activity, the
airmass will gradually destabilize amidst some cloud breaks as a
plume of lower 60s F dewpoints advects north-northeastward into OH
ahead of a weak convectively aided mid-level wave/MCV located over
eastern IN. Model forecast soundings show 500-1000+ J/kg MLCAPE
across central/southern OH with enlarged hodographs. Scattered to
numerous storms will likely evolve during the afternoon with the
stronger storms being capable of hail/wind and some tornado risk,
especially with any sustained supercells before storms congeal and
grow upscale into one or more clusters.

Known him for a quarter century. Remarried 20 years ago to a VERY smart Scots/Irish global leader of a world sports federation. The rule is to always marry a lady who marries down, and brings all of her smarts with her!
The other was a journalist, sub editor and editor of many news papers. Soldier, intelligence operator, one of my best NCOs ever. Identic memory, so I didn’t need a computer way back then, I just asked him. A good catholic boy who knows how to fight. Unbelievable well travelled. Married to his good lady wife who was leader of a conservative political party, and the bane of progressives who tried to best her on TV. She ALWAYS won and never took prisoners! Red haired Northern Irish woman with the temper and guts to do what’s right.

Upside has profit-sharing arrangements with participating businesses. When we bring them a customer or a purchase they weren’t expecting (and prove it!), then together we share in the profit earned on that purchase. Q: What is the animal that has the most teeth?
    A: The snail.

Snails are tiny little creatures. Even the largest variety, the African giant snail, typically only grows to a size of 30 cm. in length and 18 cm. in width, so it’s shocking to find out that they have around 25,600 teeth. A snail, whose mouth is comparable to the size of a pinpoint, has more teeth than any other animal in the world. Referred to as “radula”, they are microscopic in size, but they are all there.

I just Googled most teeth for a land mammal and found this gem.

    https://www.worldatlas.com/articles/what-mammal-has-the-most-teeth.html

    Giant armadillo!

    Behavior
The giant armadillo lives a solitary life. As they are unable to roll into a protective ball, the giant armadillo hides from predators in their burrows during the day and emerges at night. The giant armadillo is known to dig larger holes than other armadillos. The entrance of the hole is about 43 cm wide. After giving birth, the female giant armadillo closes the entrance of the hole to protect the young ones from predators

Now, if anyone here can tell me what statement about a giant armadillo made be laugh I will buy them a beer.

    Still laughing….

Lou: ‘But I can’t come in?’

    Bud: ‘Correct.’

    Lou: ‘Why not?’

We noted Tuesday evening, D (for Diesel)-Day quickly approaches, though it might already be here as U.S. East Coast distillate inventories plunge to a record low, according to new government data.

Weekly petroleum data from Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) Crude Oil Inventories show East Coast distillate inventories are at their lowest ever, dropping to just 22.4 million barrels.

Total U.S. distillate inventories have sunk to levels not seen since the last financial crisis.

Interesting. If true, this means the leak worked and someone was able to sway a Supreme Court decision by prematurely leaking a decision draft. If so, as Eagles has said, this destroys the Supreme Court and any confidence in its decisions. So allowing the continued practice of Molok worship is practicing ‘judicial restraint’?

It’s Orca central down at the beach. This bay used to be called Stingray Bay before Lt. Ngarimu (28th Maori Battalion) won his VC (same as the Medal of Honor but a lot less awarded)in the Western Desert in Libya. So we now inhabit Ngarimu Bay. Apparently the Orca didn’t get the memo! 🙂
The large pods bring their baby orca here in numbers to teach them how to catch and eat Sting Rays. A large pod of about 20+ orca plus lots of babies arrived half an hour ago. They looked as if they were feasting very well. Some large snapper were also jumping out of the water attempting to escape. No chance as the Orca are just too smart and fast. Glad that we have them as regular visitors to our beach. They husband their babies close inshore to where the Sting Rays try to escape in the shallows. No chance

Last week, the Open Markets Institute called on the FCC, the FTC, and the DOJ to block Musk from buying Twitter:

[and got bitch slapped by the FCC]

Finally, I am particularly troubled by arguments that the federal government must act with the purpose of stopping Mr. Musk from enshrining free expression on Twitter. The only merit in such proposals is their candor in proposing something so blatantly illegal. The law in this country does not recognize a government interest in restricting the open exchange of ideas. Labeling content as “fake news” or “disinformation” does not change that. It would be not only unconstitutional, but plainly un-American, for any arm of the government to act against Twitter or Mr. Musk for such a purpose.

Old Testament pagan religion in which the firstborn was sacrificed in a fire to the god Molok (Moloch, depending upon who is doing the translating). God had very strong admonitions to the ancient Israelites relative to this false, evil religion and Israel was punished many times for abandoning the true God and engaging in this pagan religion (“making your sons and daughters pass through the fire, something I never commanded nor dreamed of”). This is not a bad analogy to the liberal fascination with abortion, something that they seem to treat as a sort of sacrament (sacred act) in their circles. Nancy Pelosi actually almost came out and said that once.

World’s Largest Shipper Warns About Stagflation: “Don’t Think It’s Temporary”

    https://zububrothers.com/2022/05/04/worlds-largest-shipper-warns-about-stagflation-dont-think-its-temporary/

The world’s largest ocean and inland freight transportation company warns about gathering storm clouds above the global economy as potential stagflation risks emerge and shuttering of China’s factories because of the COVID-19 outbreak even as it reported record profits for the first quarter.

Maersk’s chief executive Søren Skou was quoted by Financial Times as saying the second quarter is expected to be in line with the first quarter, which allowed the shipper to record the highest profits in its 114-year history.

    However, Skou delivered this warning:

“We are assuming a slowdown in the second half, a normalization. The visibility is quite low. Mainly we see risks building up in the economy, in China with the Covid-19 policy, where they use these very hard lockdowns, some downgrades due to a very high oil price.”

Covid impact is waning on deaths yet deaths remain extremely elevated to the surprise of these executives. They are not calling out the vaccines but it’s clear that they recognize higher underlying mortality trends. We have a National crisis of vaccine deaths/injuries and the cover of Covid is disappearing. That makes sense to me that funeral homes would display a more trackable trend in deaths.

nope. there are many more baby boomers dying than every one else. funeral homes are a gross total aggregator. insurance is not. each death falls in a given age cohort that can be tracked.

Well isn’t THIS interesting. From DeSantis spox Christina Pushaw

Fun fact: Nina Jankowicz worked in the administration of President Poroshenko, an oligarch with a reputation for extreme corruption who jailed my former boss for protesting him. Corruption was THE issue that drove 73% of Ukrainians to vote out Poroshenko & elect Zelensky in 2019.

Her and her color revolution employer were a conduit to enable bribes to be sent to Biden et all.. imo.

Her only qualification seems to be that she is corrupt.
