Lets see if I can do this on the POS chromebookpieceofshitgarbageswillmachine. (too lazy/pain to walk up the steps to get the windows machine)

I HATE this thing.

Anyway, for those of you interested, Flosports has NZ v Argies this weekend (do check it out, I get no money if you sign up)…
Much to AI’s chagrin, Las Pumas beat the All Blacks in NZ last week. Now it’s time for payback…OR…God Forbid, a Sweep on home turf. South Africa has the Wallabies again. SA is perhaps unbeatable and I’m afraid the roos are going to get crushed again.you wont see any transvestites or kneeling either.

    Get a Raspberry! LOL

I am running the kids version of the operating system. Raspberry was designed for small children.

All you need is an old TV, a keyboard and a mouse. Fucking thing is a mess wiring wise as it is the size of a packet of smokes.

Lets me post here, on X, pick up Outlook mail, Google mail watch movies on Youtube and Tubi and Amazon and do spreadsheet shit.

Ideal configuration is use an old TV, wireless mouse, wireless keyboard and put the little fucker in an enclosure and velcro it to the back of the TV.

If someone software wise breaks it slip in another cloned SD card of the working version and in two minutes you are back up and running.

I has a video, which is too big for X

I am enjoying a very nice $17 five liter box of Cabernet that Walmart kindly delivered to me this afternoon as I was feeling sad.

Before I have had too much wine and I am incapable of remembering anything about today do you think it would be sensible to write myself a note and stick it on the fridge tonight so I see it tomorrow?

” There is a dead cat in the bathroom ”

    I think I will write myself a note….

And a big thank you to all my friends in the Houston area that did absolutely nothing to help me ease Boris the cat over the rainbow bridge and ease his suffering.

You know who you are. A big fuck you.

Included in that big fuck you is UPS who lost my new phone that was capable of doing Uber. My old phone iPhone 7 could no longer Uber.

Was due on August 2nd, Boris was still eating.

Also an enormous fuck you to the people I once had in my life that I cared for and when I needed moral and emotional support in these past six weeks and two dead cats ignored me.

Hey fuck humanity, I still have two cats left.

Hey I always look on the bright side. Now I only have two cats and now I can declare that fact to the rent place.

Rule is, no more than two cats. CHECK!

Pay $250 per cat rental deposit. I can do that!

Rent per cat $35 per month. OK, what it is is what it is.

Finally! due to cats dying I may be able to become legal.

    Counting cats….. Two left.

Looks like the bed is all mine tonight.

Sorry to be boring but, having no friends in the USA, no family and being old the cats are what kept me going.

Can’t die! Who would look after the cats?

I need to be healthy, be fit, be mobile because cats rely on me.

A wonderful reason to stay alive!

50% of cats died in last six weeks. 50% of reason to live died.

Good news is the humane shelters will not take the remaining two cats.

So I am stuck with them, and they are stuck with me until they decide to die.

Got to clean out the bathroom cabinet tomorrow though. Make space for more dead cats.

This is strange, it is like you knew your grandma was dying and she crawled into the cupboard under the bathroom sink and died.

But even when dead it is not real.

Tomorrow I have to do what I have to do. Not tonight.

On another subject someone on the last thread mentioned reading Mien Kampf.

It may be a banned book and something that should be erased from history but I say not.

It is important that history is preserved, not erased.

What happened in the past gives us an understanding as to what is happening now in the world.

As to Mien Kampf I made it through the first three pages of an online translation. It was hard work reading it.

Maybe a better translation in hard copy would have kept me interested.

Unpopular opinion to post here but if Hitler and his regime would have not targeted a certain religious sect and the infirm and the mentally unstable people and also not started invading other countries then Germany would now be the number one economic and military power in the world.

After the first world war Germany was in a mess. Hitler turned that around.

    Then he went nuts….

Schlicter is at it again. Funny column, but brutal

Great work, Europe. No really, you’re doing fine. You’ve got British toadies threatening to extradite American citizens for speaking freely and some dork at the European Union threatening an American citizen for daring to have an online interview with one of America’s two major party presidential candidates. That’s going to go over well. Good thinking because Europe can sure afford to alienate the members of one of America’s two political parties.

The Russians are coming? Hey, sounds like a personal problem, Monsieur Pierre Le Beau and Sir Adrian Wellington Smythe-Grimbsy. Turn off the Eurovision Song Contest and go fight your own damn wars. Or just submit. You have more in common with the Bear than America nowadays. You both arrest people for speaking freely.

The United States and its alleged European allies used to have something in common. Now, the Euros are decrepit subjects oppressing their own native citizenry for the ruling clique to retain power, and Americans are proud and free citizens who refuse to kneel with the guns to make sure we never have to. There’s a big disconnect between us and them, or rather between us and their globalist ruling class that has zero interest in actual democracy. Europeans can submit like sniveling, craven serfs. Not us – and don’t call us to bail you out again either.

    @ eaglesoars:

While I was reading that, a memory popped up.

I think it was Bush 43’s 2nd election. Some British newspaper (Guardian?) selected a ‘typical’ American town – it was in Ohio – got its voter rolls and had too-big-for-their-britches Brits (looking at you, Lady Antonia Fraser) write letters BEGGING their American pen pals not to vote for Bush.

The blowback was EPIC!! And hilarious (“Dear Lord Snootful”). In utter and complete humiliation, the paper shut down the effort in about 4 days and just memory-holed the entire thing.

Explains what will happen when Kamala goes after price gouging in the food chain. (And from one commenter: He left out ration cards which lead to black markets)

    1. The government announces that grocery retailers aren’t allowed to raise prices.

    2. Grocery stores, which operate on 1-2% net margins, can’t survive if their suppliers raise prices. So the government announces that food producers (Kraft Heinz, ConAgra, Tyson, Hormel, et. al.) also aren’t allowed to raise prices.

    3. Not all grocery stores are created equal. Stores in lower-income areas make less money than those in higher-income areas, as the former disproportionately sell lower-margin prepackaged foods (“center of the store”) instead of higher-margin fresh products like meat (“perimeter of the store”). Because stores in lower-income areas aren’t able to cover overhead (remember, even if their wholesale costs are fixed, their labor, utilities, insurance, and other operating expenses aren’t fixed… yet), grocery chains start to shut them down. Food deserts in rural areas and in low-income urban areas alike become worse.

    4. Meanwhile, margins for food producers are also quickly eroding. Their primary costs (ingredients, energy, and labor) aren’t fixed, and their shrinking gross profits leave less cash flow available to cover overhead, maintain facilities, and reinvest in additional production capacity.

    5. Grocery chains, which have finite shelf space, start to repurpose their stores (those they didn’t have to shut down, I should say) to sell more non-price-controlled items—everything from nutrition supplements to kitchenware to apparel—and less price-controlled food products. Your local Kroger or Safeway starts to look and feel more like a Walmart.

    6. Food producers stop making products with lower margins. Grocery chain start competing with each other to secure inventory. Since they can’t compete by offering stronger prices (remember, producers aren’t allowed to raise prices here, and, even if they could, grocery chains no longer have the gross profit to bear price increases), they compete on things like payment terms.

    7. Small grocery chains start to shut down entirely, or get sold to larger chains like Kroger. In addition to not being able to cover fixed costs, a major reason for this is because they can no longer reliably secure delivery of products, due to producers prioritizing sales to larger customers, which are able to leverage their stronger balance sheets to offer superior payment terms.

    8. Smaller food producers—which typically sell via distributors, rather than directly to grocery chains—start to go out of business. Because these producers have an additional step their value chains, and because they have lower volumes over which to spread their fixed costs, their cost structure is inherently disadvantaged compared to major food producers. When grocery stores aren’t able to raise prices, cutting product costs becomes all the more important, and deprioritizing purchases from smaller producers is an easy way to do so.

    9. As supply chains break down, lines start to form outside grocery stores every morning. Cities assign police officers to patrol store parking lots, and food producers draft contingency plans to assign armed escorts to delivery trucks.

    10. The federal government announces a program to issue block grants for states to purchase and operate shuttered grocery stores. The USDA also seizes closed-down production facilities.

    11. The government announces that prices for all key food costs—corn, wheat, cattle, energy, etc.—are also now fixed, to stop “profiteers” from gouging the now-government-operated food industry.

    12. Shockingly, the government struggles to operate one of the most complex industries on the planet. The entire food supply chain starts imploding.

    13. Communism, mass starvation, and the end of America quickly ensue.

I’m so sorry about your cat. You did your best to care for it. I’ve been thinking about what you might do to dispose of the body given the circumstances. The local animal control may be willing to pick up the body and dispose of it. Would it be feasible to contact the apartment complex’s mgmt and ask them to contact animal control? You don’t want the remaining animal(s) to get infected nor you either.

    What did I tell ya!

42/10 bloodbath and so the Eden Park curse on all pretenders remains intact for a half century now.

All Blacks coach fed the ABs raw steak , raved them up and sent them on a hunt and kill vendetta.

Pumas had butterflies when they ran out onto the turf. The Haka went well and the ABs had blood in their eyes. It was all down hill for the Pumas from there.

    🙂

It wasn’t pretty with the rain and the mud and all but it was inevitable. Teams that hazard themselves by squeezing out an odd win in NZ hazard their health when the ABs come knocking for retribution. The crazies that happened towards the end of the game at the ‘Cake-tin’ in Wellington last week, may be in the record but the ABs are back in charge after last weeks craziness!

All bullshit aside the ABs were back in the slot again after the craziness of last week in Wellington.

The Eden Park curse on visiting teams remains secure still after 50 years of visiting teams attempts. There was a sole draw by the British Lions in the mid 1990s I think but the no loss record remains half a century in!

    🙂

The ABs HAVE to get their ‘line-outs’ sorted or the Irish will hammer this deficiency.

That is exactly what will follow if the US goes down this particular dead-end lane.

Given immediate past history, I seriously don’t think the US is capable of running free and fair electrons. The Republicans at least know ‘know their enemies’ and the shameful criminal shenanigans of which they are capable. It’s not only a clarion call to ‘get out the vote’. It’s a demand to shut down the cheating of the socialist (would be communist) left. Extreme misogyny to be treated as terrorism under UK government plans

Extreme misogyny will be treated as a form of terrorism for the first time under government plans, it was reported.

Yvette Cooper, the home secretary, has ordered a review of the counter-terrorism strategy to address violence against women and girls and identify gaps in current legislation and examine emerging ideologies, according to the Sunday Telegraph.

Under the proposals, teachers would be legally required to refer pupils they suspect of extreme misogyny to Prevent, the UK government’s counter-terror programme.

Cooper told the Telegraph: “For too long, governments have failed to address the rise in extremism, both online and on our streets, and we’ve seen the number of young people radicalised online grow. Hateful incitement of all kinds fractures and frays the very fabric of our communities and our democracy.”

With the approach of ‘thought crime’ in the dystopian Britain 2024 and 1984 have merged. After 40 years of ‘capture’ by the authoritarian Fascist Left, it’s the turn of the Constabulary’s turn to suffer socialist / communist ‘capture’. Now the true danger approaches, where fear of the authoritiatoreans enters into every crack in the social structure of the UK.

    Easy to explain Eagles.

UK Labour has now totally lost control of the Muslim vote and the UK Muslims are block voting against Labour. So Starmer now targets muslims as anti-Labour, and are capturing former Labour Parliamentary seats in the crazy ‘First Past the Post’ voting system. Being a not quite so covert Communist these days Starmer will use ‘hate speech’ law and thought crime against anyone who opposes socialist Labour. Starmer is an equal opportunity oppressor!

Fun fact, the Antifa pallets of bricks idea originated from Berlin. I had video of this, but old Twitter deleted the video.

Germany is home to Antifa and its associates Rosa Luxemburg, and the communist parties, Die Linke. The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) are connected.

The DSA took Antifa on as a paramilitary unit via resolution 9. Obama’s Indivisible, used for the resistance, had partnered with the DSA.

One for Mr Coldwarrior who has five in his house and I suspect there maybe sometimes a fight for computer access.

I finally unboxed my big boy computer due to boredom.

A refurbished HP systen that is unable to run windows 11.

What happens is corporate call centers etc ditch their systems on a regular basis and get sent to a recycler.

Anyway, this system came with 16GB ram, a 256GB SSD, DVD burner and a shit load of USB ports. A cheap ass keyboard and a generic mouse.

21 inch monitor, new that I have not unboxed. I has more monitors than eyeballs here.

Anyway, the fucker is fast. Not pre loaded with all the crap you get on a new new o ne and windows 10 professional.

At $139 a bargain for someone who needs fast computing power very cheap to prevent fights.

At 16:20 it is historically incorrect. They sent a photo reconnaissance spitfire to take pictures. It wasn’t one in the movie.

The photo reconnaissance version of the spitfire has clipped wings. Why who the fuck knows.

    Ignore Google, I knows.

    Funny how that works!

At 6 I had a common sparrow who inhabited a laundry. It tested Tippy the cat regularly until the inevitable happened. Found the sparrow with intestines hanging out. Insisted that my mum patch it up as she was a nurse and MUST know how to fix stuff up. I nursed it, fed sugar water through an eyedropper and fed it crushed wheat and honey for 2 days before it died. It was a common sparrow who used to shit on the laundry floor. Cried my eyes out.Buried it in a large matchbox in a flower bed out in the back yard. It was a bloody common sparrow for crying out aloud …..but there you go! Half a dozen decades later and I still remember that sparrow!

    Strange that!

A cooking post and a complaint.

I buy ground beef by getting the 3lbs bags of frozen 1/4 pound beef patties. Yes it may be very slightly cheaper to buy a tube of fresh ground beef but then it requires portioning out and freezing.

My complaint. This latest bag of 80/20 has ZERO fat content!

I put them in my little frying pan and try to fry them in their own fat and nothing. No fat exudes. I have to add half a teaspoon of lard to get them sizzling.

Hey life is good when I am complaining that the cheap ground beef I bought is not actually as poor quality as it was supposed to be.

However my body is craving peas for some reason. So, lunch may be peasy cheesy.

One can of Libbie’s sweet peas, 10g powdered parmesan, 28g shredded sharp cheddar and 62g alfrado sauce. Served with a generous side of bacon, and maybe a sausage or two.

Same colouration, looks like it had been involved in an explosion at a Martha Stewart paint factory so new cat is probably female.

It is a genetic and chromosome thing. Male cats have varied colouration and distinct patterns. Female cats can be born with the ability to be all colours all over.

    @ eaglesoars:
The place where I live is all fucked up now. Georgie was obviously poisoned. Either by poison targeted at cats or he ate a poisoned mouse or rat.

Boris was FIV+ and he came home after two years being gone just to die.

Anyway, there is a rodent problem in this apartment complex, and roaches and bed bugs. I took a walk this morning and there are many glue traps scattered about the place, usually behind the AC units.

Management are trying to kill the rodents, and also killing the cats.

in 2017 when Natasha, a feral cat and with no home, came into my life I had her spayed. Cost me $15. Under the TNR program in Houston.

Trap-Neuter-Return is successfully practiced in hundreds of communities and in every landscape and setting. It is exactly what it sounds like: Cats are humanely trapped and taken to a veterinarian to be neutered and vaccinated. After recovery, the cats are returned to their home, their colony outdoors.

The idea is to create a non-breeding cat colony. If you remove all cats from an area then other cats will move in. Creating a non-breeding but territorial cat colony stops that happening. TNR cats are distinguished from other feral cats by the fact that one ear is clipped.

If animal control is called in to eradicate feral cats the theory is they do not removed the marked TNR cats.

LOL Natasha is a clipped eared feral cat, now about as feral as I am.

Boris was a clipped eared TNR cat too.

Anyway as a result of the current apartment management hatred of cats we are over run by fucking mice!

I am not a green environmentalist nut job but sometimes I prefer natural methods of pest control. Here the pests are not cats, but the fucking mice.

The tipped ear contributes to the cat’s safety as it signals to animal control officers and neighbors that the cat has been fixed and is being cared for.

Dems always call everything an “investment.” Notice that she never answered the actual question, which was where the money is going to come from.

And the bit about how giving people money to buy houses they can’t afford is going to increase property tax revenues was just stupid. Reminded me of the time Jesse Jackson Jr. said that the government should hire all the unemployed people, because then they would pay taxes and that would generate revenue for the government.

I had a mouse problem once. I love rodents, they’re very smart and I had a pet mouse named Shrankley. But they are destructive beyond belief and if you get them in your house the next thing you know is that the insulation has been stripped from the wiring and your house burns down. It broke my heart but I had to kill them.

Peanut butter on cheese. First time it didn’t work. I had little peanut butter paw prints in the kitchen sink. No cheese, no mouse.

After DNC Platform Was Printed, The Program It Touts As Top Border Success Was Shut Down For Fraud

The Democratic Party’s 2024 platform cites as its top plan for “expanding legal immigration & deterring illegal immigration” a program that, just after the platform was finalized, was revealed by an internal audit to be ridden with fraud and shut down.

“The Biden-Harris Administration established a humanitarian parole process for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans (CHNV), which allows people from these four countries who have a sponsor in the U.S. and who pass a background check to come to the U.S. for a period of two years to live and work lawfully,” the platform, the centerpiece of this week’s Democratic convention, says.

On August 2, news broke that the Department of Homeland Security had pulled the plug on that program in mid-July after an audit found that large numbers of “sponsors” were lying about their connection to immigrants seeking residency.

The program continued for nearly 18 months after the Associated Press reported that many sponsors were posing as friends and relatives to exploit migrants, charging them for the cover story. Such arrangements were so prevalent, there were entire Facebook groups dedicated to them.

The internal audit found that 100 IP addresses, representing individual computers, were responsible for filling out 51,133 sponsor application forms. One IP address was responsible for 1,328 applications, according to the Federation for American Immigration Reform, which obtained the audit. The sponsor using that IP address, which was traced to Mexico, purported to be an American.

Nearly 5,000 of the forms included verbatim language in the section where migrants are asked to explain why they journeyed to the United States. Another 5,000 forms included the same language with just a single word changed.

Sponsors used 465 nonexistent ZIP Codes, and repeated 100 addresses were between 124 and 739 times each, suggesting that the “sponsors” were not only using fraudulent addresses, but coordinating to game the system. Sponsors also used obviously fake Social Security numbers, like 111-11-1111.

Some would-be sponsors were focused on sponsoring girls under 18.

The photo reconnaissance version of the spitfire has clipped wings. Why who the fuck knows.

    Ignore Google, I knows.

Reduces the incipient drag, lightens the wing weight but also bumps up the wing-loading and increases the top speed. They could have put winglets onto the wingtips to have the same effect as the clipped tips but the engineers didn’t know about upswept wing-tips in those days.

I’ve been watching the Daily Wire’s coverage of the DNC. They have some interesting takes on things.

Their working theory on the Walz choice for VP is the same as mine, namely that most of the other candidates calculated that Harris is going to lose and begged off. Walz was the only one dumb enough to sign up.

They have a point. If Harris and Walz do win, that means presumably up to the next 4 election cycles are off the table. Most of those other candidates (Newsom, Wittmer, Shapiro in particular) want to run themselves. They’re actually banking on Harris losing, so they can run in 2028.

    Apparently it’s been worse

Dhahran has a hot desert climate (Köppen: BWh), featuring summers among the hottest and most humid in the world, and virtually frost-free winters. Temperatures can rise to more than 40 °C (104 °F) in the summer, coupled with high humidity, [citation needed] given the city’s proximity to the Persian Gulf. The highest recorded temperature in Dhahran is 51.1 °C (124.0 °F).[2] In winter, the temperature rarely falls below −2 °C (28 °F), with the lowest ever recorded being −5 °C (23 °F) in January 1964.[3] Rain falls almost exclusively between the months of November and May. The Shamal winds usually blow across the city in the early months of the summer, bringing dust storms that can reduce visibility to a few metres. These winds can last for up to six months.

It has been reported that on July 8, 2003, the dew point was 35 °C (95 °F) while the temperature was 42 °C (108 °F), which would indicate a heat index of 79 °C (174 °F), one of the highest heat indexes ever reported.[4]

Certainly nothing memorable. A lot of heavily edited retelling of her life story. She conveniently left out the part about growing up in Canada.

CNN Anchor: Dems Want To Appeal To Men Who Aren’t ‘Testosterone-Laden’

Speaking from the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday night, CNN anchor Dana Bash argued that the Democratic Party was appealing to men who were not “testosterone-laden,” contending that Democrats like Tim Walz and Doug Emhoff can speak to those kinds of men.

The subject was broached in a three-way conversation between Bash and fellow anchors Abby Phillip and Jake Tapper.

“The gender gap, in American politics, has been trending very strongly, for years,” Tapper contended. “But this year, at least according to polls, it is so strong. The women — the women vote is overwhelmingly for Harris. The male vote overwhelmingly for Trump, though not as much.”

That launched Bash into her analysis of the Democrats’ appeal to men who were not “testosterone-laden”:

Yes. And there’s the gender gap. Then there’s the idea that for the last month, the Democratic Party has been rallying around a woman, at the top of the ticket, which is, the only other time they did it, which is in 2016. And it has been noteworthy to see how they are learning about what to do, and how to confront Donald Trump, as the opponent to a woman, 2016 and now, very different campaigns, very different female candidates.

But they are doing so in trying to put forward male figures, Tim Walz being one of them, Doug Emhoff, last night, who can speak to men, out there, who might not be the sort of testosterone-laden gun-toting kind of guy, who wants to listen to Hulk Hogan, and the kind of players that came out at the RNC, or might want to listen to that.

Did I tell ya’ll about the melon story? Probably not.

Anyway nice juicy melon arrived and I put it in the fridge to make it cool and delicious.

While waiting for the melon to chill I may have drunk a few cans of beer. Hey it is hot in Texas and they keep warning us on the news to stay hydrated.

Melon was chilled, so instead of cutting it into lady like slices I just cut it in half and scooped out the melon meat with a spoon. It was not fully ripe and it was difficult to do but I ate it anyway.

An hour later the beer and melon went through me faster than a dodgy Chicken Vindaloo from a hole in the wall restaurant in Bradford ( A town in Yorkshire, near Leeds and famous for its diversity )

Question, do I stop drinking beer or do I not eat an under ripe melon?

The five are still employed but are teleworking and are no longer allowed in the field. They cannot do any investigative work.

There is a looming spike in Medicare premiums coming and Democrats are desperately trying to stop that spike in Medicare premiums before the election.

The Inflation Reduction Act redesigned Medicare Part D by capping patient out-of-pocket spending and spending and shifting the cost to insurers. Squeeze insurers whole reduce the government’s projected cost for entitlements.

Democrats anticipated that premiums would go up so they capped the annual increases in base premiums to 6%.

Insurers are now reporting that many people’s premiums are about to increase dramatically for Medicare Part D.

Why? Well, because the cap only affects people who get the bare bones plan and the majority of people who have Medicare Part D do not have the bare bones plan.

If you think democrats care about the premium increase, you are wrong. However, Democrats are in panic mode because seniors will be notified of those increases before the election.

So, democrats are using the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid to do damage control, they are using Medicare demonstration projects to delay notification of the premium increases until after the election.

Democrats wanted to shift costs to insurers in the Part D redesign so insurers would have the liability of managing the costs.

This backfired…insurance companies are raising costs.

Now seniors are screwed and the IRA will cost much more then Democrats told you it would.

HELLO Republicans, why are you not screaming about this everywhere?

    interesting

For most of American history, significant personality disorders were treated as problems and their sufferers largely relegated to the fringes of society. But in the emerging Cluster B society, narcissistic, borderline, histrionic, and antisocial psychological traits can now be found in those elevated to positions of power and celebrated by our institutions. The new status quo is an emerging leadership class that rules through emotional blackmail and uses the cover of various “victim” groups to impose its agenda on society. If citizens dissent, they are branded hateful bigots, accused of lacking empathy, and sometimes banished from public life.

What is left unsaid is that Elon could get them back next week. The reason for February is NASA does not want to abort the mission of the crewed flight that will bring them home.

Plan is only send up two to the ISS instead of the four that were scheduled to do a six month mission. The stranded astronauts do the ISS work of the two left behind then all four come back in February.

If they scrubbed the crew 9 mission and just went up to get the stranded ones back they could be home next week.

February is not a Musk delay, it is NASA.

Another tiny problem is that Starliner is blocking a docking port and they cannot get it undocked and out of the way without someone onboard.

Which means the SpaceX Crew-8 will have to depart ISS before SpaceX Crew-9 can launch.

Leaving five on the ISS. With only a Soyuz that carries 3 available as an escape plan if ISS has an emergency.

A cooking post. I started cooking again because no matter how I try cannot break the 200 pound barrier.

Anyway, a great thing to cook is a frittata which is like a quiche but with no crust. ( In England nobody eats quiche, that is gay, it is called a bacon and egg pie )

Oven is broke but my trusty air fryer helps me. Using one of those silicon inserts I can get six eggs, a quarter pound of shredded cheddar, a quarter pound of chopped hamburger and several chopped up meatballs and some chopped onion in it.

Problem is the very bottom does not get cooked in the air fryer. It requires cooking, then cooling, then partitioning then portions put in a skillet to cook the bottom.

But it is messy. So today I devised a cunning plan! Place a flour tortilla in the bottom of the silicone insert, but cut it up into six pieces and align the pieces with the handles so when my frittata was cooked then I would know where to divide it.

Great result! the six bits of tortilla floated to the top. Eggs on the bottom of silicone insert not cooked.

    Hey, I try…..

Just now the eggy and meat thing is in the fridge. Lunch before afternoon nap ended up being a can of campbells chicken soup.

I really should buy frozen TV dinners. Nuke it for three minutes, and eat it before I change my mind.

Imagine if Donald Trump had a brother-in-law who was the head of the civil rights division of the DOJ and fraudulently negotiated a $6.6 billion dollar settlement to people who were never really injured by the DOJ, a settlement that paid his big-time donor Democrat lawyers like $200 million dollars?

That would be the number one story in America, but Kamala Harris’s brother-in-law does it and there’s a complete media blackout.

I just finished watching a new Netflix docudrama series, Wyatt Earp and the Cowboy War. It’s actually pretty good. The majority of it (4 out of 6 episodes) is about what happened after the gunfight at the O.K. Corral.

  250. lobo91
    253 | August 24, 2024 11:34 pm

They even managed to get most of the technical details right. They even got the location of the big gunfight correct (it wasn’t actually at the O.K. Corral, but in the street behind it).

I only spotted one glaring error. After the gunfight, the sheriff picks up an empty cartridge casing off the ground and looks at it. The problem is that aside from the double barrelled shotgun carried by Doc Holliday, all the guns used were single action revolvers, and nobody took the time to reload. There’s no reason for an empty cartridge to be left on the ground.

Telegram messaging app CEO Durov arrested in France

PARIS, Aug 24 (Reuters) – Pavel Durov, the Russian-French billionaire founder and CEO of the Telegram messaging app, was arrested at Bourget airport outside Paris on Saturday evening, TF1 TV and BFM TV said, citing unnamed sources.
Durov was travelling aboard his private jet, TF1 said on its website, adding he had been targeted by an arrest warrant in France as part of a preliminary police investigation.
TF1 and BFM both said the investigation was focused on a lack of moderators on Telegram, and that police considered that this situation allowed criminal activity to go on undeterred on the messaging app.

    OH,

On June 3, 1965, NASA astronaut Ed White became the first American to walk in space during the Gemini IV mission. The spacewalk began at 3:45 PM EDT over the Pacific Ocean near Hawaii, when White opened the capsule hatch and used a hand-held oxygen-jet gun to push himself out. He was attached to the capsule by a 23-foot tether and a 25-foot umbilical, and floated in space for about 20 minutes, circling the Earth at 17,000 miles per hour and traveling 6,500 miles. White used the gun to propel himself to the end of the tether and back to the capsule three times. The spacewalk ended over the Gulf of Mexico

Yale researcher Dan Kahan studied the personality and cultural differences of Americans and found a fascinating distinct cluster: white hierarchical individualistic men

    [insert chart here]

Hierarchical individualist men don’t just not overlap with everyone else on the risks of climate change, they’re on a different planet.

But hierarchical individualists aren’t universally fearless people. They just have different risk assessments.

For example, white hierarchical individualists find the idea of gun regulations to be incredibly high risk, but almost no one else does. Here’s the full chart of risk perceptions:

    [insert chart here]

Kahan’s fascinating research further solidifies that differences in views of reality are fundamentally motivated by personality and values differences.

Curious whether you’re a hierarchical individualist or an egalitarian communist? Here’s the test:

One of the crew members of Apollo 7 was R. Walter Cunningham who was the Lunar Module pilot.

Lookie here! Kamala may not be a naturalized citizen after all. Mommy and Daddy broke some laws

    https://x.com/pepesgrandma/status/1827843680935239961

Huge news folks along with Kamala documents galore!! Kamala Harris may possibly not be a naturalized US citizen! But wait, it’s not what you think. This is due to special immigration laws nobody has considered. Plus it seems both her mama Shamala, and father broke some laws too!

You see, the Department of Justice and FBI opened an investigation of Kamala Harris’ alien Indian mother for unauthorized work and marriage fraud in 1967.

Now, this next thing doesn’t affect anything, I think. ‍♀️ But Kamala’s mom had an extended deportation order that expired 5 days before Kamala was born!

Also, when Kamala Harris’ mother claimed to be a Caucasian on her Indian daughter’s birth certificate, the alien INS scheduled for deportation concealed her nationality as a citizen of India in violation of the 1952 Walter-McCarran Act that controlled alien immigration when she arrived in 1958

Claiming to be a “Caucasian” for an alien from India in 1964, whose admission on an H-1 student visa came with tight restrictions under the 1952 McCarran-Walter Act, created a federal law problem for Gopolan.

Based on the McCarran-Walter Act of 1952, which established the immigration laws under which her mother had entered the nation in 1958, Kamala Harris could not be “naturalized” as a half-breed child of an Indian from India and a British Jamaican. The Luce-Cellar Act of 1946 was still in effect limiting the number of Indians immigrating to the United States of America to no more than 100 per year when she was born in 1964. The current Vice President of the United States of America should have applied for a student visa and then citizenship when she entered this nation’s borders from Canada as an adult in 1982.

More on Kamala’s mom’s (Shyamala) DOJ issues:

Fourteen years after she requested a January 6, 1972 dissolution from her “on paper” July 5, 1963 marriage to Jamaican alien Donald Jasper Harris, Indian alien Shyamala Gopolan lied on federal immigration forms she submitted through Immigration & Naturalization Services (INS) to the United States Department of Justice and said that she was married.

The “marriage” lie was found in Gopolan’s Immigration Visa and Registration application “flagged” with the identifier “(b)(6)” for “unauthorized work fraud.” She also got the (b)(7)(c) flag for “unauthorized status changes.’ It meant each time she asked for permission to work she was already working.

“Shyamala, whose previous presence in the United States of America was under a student visa – had signed the federal “Immigrant Visa and Registration” form attesting to being married to an “immigrant.” The date next to her signature is February 3, 1986.”

“The late Shyamala Gopolan’s marriage lie appears to be among the first INS investigators exposed in the 154-pages of investigatory records reviewed that are contained in her United States Department of Justice’s alien file.”

As for dad, Jamaican alien and admitted Marxist Donald Jasper Harris’ visa had identified him as a “British” citizen of Jamaica as he concealed his work and research for the Jamaican government’s University of the West Indies. His dual role as a student and Jamaican government researcher violated the Foreign Agent Registration Act when he entered the nation in 1959. Identifying himself as “British” instead of an “African” citizen of Jamaica made him, like Shyamala Gopolan, appear to be Caucasian on paper.

The father of our nation’s vice president completed an economic research project in 1964 for the Jamaican government on computers he used at Berkeley. His secret presence inside the state-owned University of California as an unregistered agent and citizen of Jamaica gave him access to “national defense secrets” through its libraries and databases.

Shymala also submitted a middle name change for Kamala while under deportation orders.

There’s tons more, and statutes are cited. Source to be provided.

My head is spinning and we seriously need an attorney to review this.

    just follow that thread

Looks like the same sort of trap as trying to prove that Obama wasn’t eligible. How did that work out?

Nope, they were tunnels used by terrorists cunningly disguised as an underground railway network by putting a few fake trains in them.

Spicy fried asian noodles. I ran out of Mi Goreng so decided to make my own with beef tallow, soy sauce, and Vietnamese chili sauce. Originally I had used coconut oil (solid) like the original packaged type, but substituted the tallow and it was mind blowing.

Yes, this is Tim Walz tweeting about his dog Scout. Only problem is that these are two completely different dogs.

    Back on the Raspberry.

Went for my afternoon nap a couple of hours ago and while snuggling up with Natasha was annoyed bu my new, one week old, refurbished PC making the diddly boop, diddly bop sounds they make when something USB is disconnected and re-connected.

Eventually got out of bed to discover the USB ports at the back were wet. How could that be?

Lifted up the computer and there was a small lake underneath it. Powered down computer.

That is the last think it ever did. I am not angry, I do not seem to be able to get angry any more. Seems like Glen decided to mark his territory. Not just mark it with a tiny squirt of piss but a full blown empty his bladder at the USB ports at the back.

New refurbished HP computer arrives tomorrow. $139 which includes a monitor which I don’t really need as I did not unbox the last one!

So until then it is just me and my Raspberry!

For the techno geeks here it has two USB ports and two USB3 ports, one Gigabite Ethernet port, Bluetooth and WiFi and two HDMI ports, it supports two monitors.

4GB ram and that one is running on a 32GB SD card but it can run on a USB flash drive or an external USB hard drive or SSD.

If a cat pisses on it then all I have to do is wash it in isopropyl alcohol and we are good to go!
