Al Sharpton sells his life story rights for $531,000 (to his own charity)

If he’s indeed selling his life story rights, we should purchase them for $531,001.00 and redefine him as a quadrasexual alien nematode.

Just a thought.

Al Sharpton was a FBI snitch

Al Sharpton always appeared to be a rat to me. I have always suspected many of these “community organizer” types were government moles. That is why no matter how many times they agitate, they don’t face serious jail time. Now my suspicions about Sharpton have been confirmed.

Reports are now circulating that Al Sharpton was a FBI informant. For a number of years in the mid 80’s he recorded conversations with members of the Genovese crime family in the NY area. Al Sharpton was more than just a street agitator, he was working for the very system he condemned.

Later this week, Obama will travel to New York and appear in a Manhattan hotel ballroom at the side of the man whom FBI agents primarily referred to as “CI-7”–short for confidential informant #7–in secret court filings. In those documents, investigators vouched for him as a reliable, productive, and accurate source of information about underworld figures.

The ex-informant has been one of Obama’s most unwavering backers, a cheerleader who has nightly bludgeoned the president’s Republican opponents in televised broadsides. For his part, Obama has sought the man’s counsel, embraced him publicly, and saluted his “commitment to fight injustice and inequality.” The president has even commented favorably on his friend’s svelte figure, the physical manifestation of a rehabilitation effort that coincided with Obama’s ascension to the White House. This radical makeover has brought the man wealth, a daily TV show, bespoke suits, a luxury Upper West Side apartment, and a spot on best seller lists.

[….]

Beginning in the mid-1980s and spanning several years, Sharpton’s cooperation was fraught with danger since the FBI’s principal targets were leaders of the Genovese crime family, the country’s largest and most feared Mafia outfit. In addition to aiding the FBI/NYPD task force, which was known as the “Genovese squad,” Sharpton’s cooperation extended to several other investigative agencies.

TSG’s account of Sharpton’s secret life as “CI-7” is based on hundreds of pages of confidential FBI affidavits, documents released by the bureau in response to Freedom of Information Act requests, court records, and extensive interviews with six members of the Genovese squad, as well as other law enforcement officials to whom the activist provided assistance.

Like almost every other FBI informant, Sharpton was solely an information source. The parameters of his cooperation did not include Sharpton ever surfacing publicly or testifying on a witness stand.

Genovese squad investigators–representing both the FBI and NYPD–recalled how Sharpton, now 59, deftly extracted information from wiseguys. In fact, one Gambino crime family figure became so comfortable with the protest leader that he spoke openly–during ten wired face-to-face meetings–about a wide range of mob business, from shylocking and extortions to death threats and the sanity of Vincent “Chin” Gigante, the Genovese boss who long feigned mental illness in a bid to deflect law enforcement scrutiny. As the mafioso expounded on these topics, Sharpton’s briefcase–a specially customized Hartman model–recorded his every word.

Sharpton is a 2 faced rat who deserves no respect.

MSNBC has mastered the art of making unracial things racial

Let’s see, you have race hustler Al Sharpton, Chris “tingles” Matthews, Rachel “Maddog” Maddow,  Toure, the incredibly nasty Martin Bashir, and rageaholic Lawrence O’Donnell – all of whom are either demagogues, wannabes, alcoholics and malignant narcissists who condescend to every “person of color” (God I hate that term) because at heart they are cowards.

by Jonah Goldberg

Why do they seem so determined to also make it racial?”

So asks Joy-Ann Reid, the managing editor of TheGrio, a web magazine owned by NBC News whose mission is to “focus on news and events that have a unique interest and/or pronounced impact within the national African Americans audience.” The “they” in question are conservatives and journalists asking, among other things, why President Obama hasn’t inserted himself into a new criminal-justice case the way he did in the Trayvon Martin tragedy.

The irony-impaired Reid was asking that question about a heinous murder in Oklahoma, where, according to police, an Australian student was shot by a black youth with the help of two friends (one of whom was white) “for the fun of it.” Police allege that the bored teens spotted Christopher Lane jogging and decided to follow him and shoot him in the back.

Reid asked the question while guest-hosting a show on MSNBC, a network that has mastered the art of making unracial things racial. Just two days earlier, Reid had insisted that there’s a “neoconfederate thread” running through the gun-rights movement. Whatever that means.

Then there’s MSNBC fixture Chris Matthews, who insists, with considerable regularity, that any criticism of Barack Obama is driven by “white supremacy.” Critics of Obamacare, Matthews claims, believe that “the white race must rule.”

Another MSNBC host, Martin Bashir, recently insisted that outrage over the ongoing scandal at the IRS is really nothing more than coded racism. The IRS is the new “N-word,” according to Bashir. “So this afternoon, we welcomed the latest phrase in the lexicon of Republican attacks on this president: the IRS. [………………]”

Lawrence O’Donnell, another MSNBC host, assured viewers during the Republican National Convention last summer that Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell’s joke about Obama’s playing too much golf was really a deliberate racist dog whistle. “These people,” O’Donnell insisted, “reach for every single possible racial double entendre they can find in every one of these speeches.”

And that of course leaves out Al Sharpton, an MSNBC host who can best be understood as the racial equivalent of an ambulance chaser.

Against this backdrop, Reid’s asking why anyone would bring race into the discussion is a bit like a pornographer asking, “Why make this about sex?”

But let’s get back to her question. One high-minded response might be that conservatives are bringing race into this discussion because they are simply doing what has been asked of them by Reid and countless others, including the president and the attorney general: They’re trying to have that coveted “national conversation about race.” Of course, the conversation that the conversation-mongers want is entirely one-sided; they only want to talk about why their ideological enemies are racists.  [……….]

But the truth is, that’s not what is going on. To the extent that people are bringing up race it is to turn the tables, rhetorically at least, on people like Reid and her MSNBC colleagues for their relentless — some might say shameless and disgusting — effort to exploit the George Zimmerman murder trial.

Recall that there was no evidence Zimmerman was motivated by racial animus, a fact so inconvenient to NBC News that it unethically edited Zimmerman’s 911 call to make it sound like he was racist. (NBC later apologized and Zimmerman is rightly suing.) This inconvenient truth was also why numerous news outlets insisted on describing Zimmerman as a “white Hispanic” — to bend the facts to fit the preferred narrative.

Australian and British newspapers — which do not care about imposing a monolithic liberal narrative on race — are reporting that Lane’s alleged murderers may have been driven by motives other than boredom. But even if the initial reporting proves accurate and these thugs were just trying to break the monotony of the dog days of summer, the lesson for the MSNBC crowd should be the same.

From Obama down to his cheerleaders in the press, liberals have declared unremitting war on their ideological opponents, cynically polarizing the country along racial — and, when possible, gender — lines. They, not conservatives, have been the ones dragging race into any and every political dispute they can. This disgusting strategy has worked well for them, galvanizing minority voters and tarring the Republican brand. I don’t particularly welcome the fact that conservatives are fighting fire with fire, but you can hardly blame them given how liberals like Reid have been asking for it for so long.

It’s time to fire Al Sharpton!

I think one of the most disgusting instances of political pandering was the way all the Democratic candidates for president in 2004 (including Joe Lieberman) pandered to Al Sharpton and not one of them had the guts or decency to bring up the Tawana Brawley or Freddie’s Fashion Mart incidents. By the way Mr. Radosh is wrong,  Joe Scarborough’s Show is losing viewers and he is not even a token “conservative” but at best a center-left pseudo Republican.

by Ron Radosh

Do you remember Tawana Brawley? If not, you must go and watch the video co-produced by RetroReport and the New York Times. The Times starts by giving us a wrap-up of the case:

The news reports at the time, in the late 1980s, were horrific. Tawana Brawley, a 15-year-old African-American girl from New York State, was said to have been abducted and repeatedly raped by six white men. She was found with “KKK” written across her chest, a racial epithet on her stomach and her hair smeared with feces. She was so traumatized, according to reports, that at the hospital she answered yes-or-no questions by blinking her eyes. Making the crime even more vile, if that were possible, she and her lawyers later claimed that two of the rapists were law enforcement officials.

Enter a relatively unknown (at the time) African-American activist named Reverend Al Sharpton. Rushing to get in touch with young Tawana, Reverend Al became her mentor, spokesman, and leader of the mass protests demanding justice for Brawley, the victim of an apparent white racist attack. In the process, Sharpton accused the police officer — who Sharpton said had actually attacked her — along with the assistant district attorney who prosecuted the case, Steven Pagones. “The evidence,” Sharpton said, proved that “an assistant district attorney and a state trooper did this.” Sharpton led mass picket lines at New York state offices, which I recall at times included the always gullible folk singer Pete Seeger.

[………..] It was too late for Officer Harry Crist Jr., who committed suicide because of the false accusations made against him, or for Assistant DA Pagones, whose career was ruined and whose reputation was smeared.

Writing today at The Daily Beast, Stuart Stevens calls it a “shocking reminder of the toxic mix racial exploitation and personal ambition can produce.” It should be, he writes, “required viewing for the NBC News executives who are heavily invested in rehabilitating a key culprit of this loathsome episode: the Rev. Al Sharpton.” Stevens is correct, and let me put it more boldly: It is time for MSNBC and its parent, NBC News, to fire Rev. Al Sharpton.

R_s640x427

There was some justice for the family of the dead police officer and for the unjustly accused Pagones. The two lawyers working for Brawley, Alton Maddox and C. Vernon Mason — both radical New York leftists — had their law licenses revoked. But as we know, despite a long record of outrageous, racially charged actions carried out by Sharpton, which Stevens summarizes for us, the activist’s career began to skyrocket.

Sharpton became a media celebrity, a kingmaker of Democratic Party politics, and the man all candidates had to grovel before in order to get approval because he had succeeded in anointing himself as the self-proclaimed leader of America’s black community. Yet Sharpton continued to reveal his antisemitism, continued to make false charges on other issues, and, as Stevens puts it so well, he “spent decades vomiting hate, leaving innocent victims in his wake.” And as PJ Media readers well know, he has continued his role in the protests he organized at the time of the Trayvon Martin shooting. [……..]

Sharpton is not alone. But one thing stands out. Instead of suffering retribution for his continuing sins, he has been singularly rewarded. His greatest reward was NBC’s fairly recent appointment of Sharpton as anchor of his own program on MSNBC. He is also a regular commentator on other programs, including the network’s highly rated Morning Joe with Joe Scarborough. [………]Imagine the scandal if Sean Hannity or Bill O’Reilly took leadership of a conservative activist group while hosting their own TV talk programs. We know that all hell would break loose the very first day. Sharpton is being touted, as Stevens puts it, as a “credible source of information.”

That persona, as a result of this new 15 minute documentary, is now up to being challenged. In the documentary, when asked to comment about his role in the Brawley episode, Sharpton is clearly anything but apologetic. As Wayne Barrett, the former political writer at the old Village Voice with his friend the late Jack Newfield, says in the program, Sharpton still thinks he did nothing wrong. [………] Yet the media always come when Sharpton makes a call, as they did in Florida after the Martin shooting.

One other point must be made about Sharpton’s comments made for the documentary. First, he says, incredulously, that “something happened,” as he tries to imply that perhaps Brawley was right in her original charges. Second, he goes on to argue — and you must watch him say this in the video — that even if you think he is wrong, he acted because of his commitment “to social justice”!

Sharpton does not seem to realize it, but he is saying that “the end justifies the means,” the old apologia all leftist radicals use to explain away their most heinous acts. The holy grail of seeking “social justice” excuses anything, even false accusations that led to the suicide of one person and the end of a career for another. Beware of those who invoke social justice as the explanation for their actions.  [………]

Yes, MSNBC is an upfront leftist news organization. Joe Scarborough, who regularly is balanced by the usual assortment of leftists and liberals, is the rare exception — the token conservative hired because he once was in Congress and has ties to the Hill and many friends to call upon for interviews and as guests. The network last year took the step of firing Pat Buchanan, whose upfront paleoconservative views offended the network honchos, and whose latest book at the time was accused of racism.

Nothing Buchanan wrote or did, however, compared one iota with the offenses of Al Sharpton, which continue unabated to this day. It is time that NBC do what they did to Buchanan. It is time to fire Sharpton, for he has made clear in his unwarranted defense of his actions in the Brawley case that he has learned nothing, and that he is still a purveyor of inflammatory racial charges that undermine any remaining credibility needed for the position of a news network anchor.

[…….] Even an avowed leftist network has to be called to account when it crosses the line and tries to give a classic demagogue a position on its news staff.
