This is amazing. If you cross your eyes and focus on the middle image you get an awesome 3D effect of one of the hundreds of Frieda Kahlo’s self portraits.
Make sure that no one else is in the room who might bonk you on the head while your eyes are crossed because they might stay that way (according to your mom) and you won’t be able to enjoy The Overnight Open Thread.
For those of you who have never run across the artwork of Jim Woodring, you’re missing out on some of the most surreal (and sometimes disturbing) pen and inkwork that I’ve seen. Woodring based a lot of his subject matter on hallucinations he had as a child, and decided to record them on paper.
His most recognizable character is Frank, a good guy who goes on bizarre adventures, often accompanied by Madame Pupshaw (sort of a cat) and Pushpaw (sort of a dog). None of the characters speak.
Woodring’s online store is awesome. It’s full of delightful oddness, perfect gifts for the hard-to-get, and presented for your review on The Overnight Open Thread.

A long time ago one of Bunk’s friends got the “Rock ‘em Sock ‘em Robots” for Christmas. Bunk was filled with envy, until he saw what a stupid piece of carp it really was, but it was cool for 15 minutes until my friend and I decided to take it apart to find out why it was really a piece of carp.
That’s when the carp hit the fan with my friend’s Mom. Bunk realized that his own mom was calling about the same time and had to go.
Yeah, Bunk woosed out, but Bunk wasn’t stupid either, and survived to fess up and tell his story on The Overnight Open Thread.
Thanks to Urban Infidel for the inspiration; no retouching was necessary. The resemblance is more than coincidence… yet one is awesome and one is not. I also notice that 24 hours is up, which means it’s time for the awesome Overnight Open Thread.
