VOTE FRAUD ALERT: DOJ Blocks Texas Voter ID Law.

The Obama Department of Just Us has objected to the Texas Voter ID law which was passed overwhelmingly last year by the Texas Legislature. DOJ says that “Texas has not ‘sustained its burden’ under Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act to show that the new law will not have a discriminatory effect on minority voters”.  This latest outrage is just one more example of the Pharaoh-in-Chief ™ and his minions continuing to rule against the will of the American people. It also shows that the regime will do anything to encourage and enable vote fraud ahead of the Texas Primaries and the November election.

The department’s head of the civil rights division, Tom Perez, wrote a a six-page letter to Texas’ director of elections saying that Texas has not “sustained its burden” under Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act to show that the new law will not have a discriminatory effect on minority voters. About 11 percent of Hispanic voters reportedly lack state-issued identification.

Perez wrote that while the state says the new photo ID requirement is to “ensure electoral integrity and deter ineligible voters from voting” the state “did not include evidence of significant in-person voter impersonation not already addressed by the state’s existing laws.”

Perez added that the number of people lacking any personal ID or driver’s license issued by
the state ranges from from 603,892 to 795,955, but of that span, 29-38 percent of them are Hispanic.

“According to the state’s own data, a Hispanic registered voter is at least 46.5 percent, and potentially 120.0 percent, more likely than a non-Hispanic registered voter to lack this identification,” Perez wrote.

A must see video: What we can ALL learn from the late, great Andrew Breitbart in this most important year of 2012…

I urge all of you to watch, listen to, and most importantly, ABSORB Andrew Breitbart’s 16 minute speech at CPAC last month. He understood the big picture and what’s most important THIS YEAR!

This isn’t 1992, nor 1996, when we were hoping to keep Bill Clinton, who, back in those days, was considered a radical leftist, from becoming President.

Nor is it 1980, when most of us were hoping for Ronald Reagan to defeat Jimmy Carter.

This is so much more important, especially if you love our country the way it is, and don’t think there’s any need to “fundamentally transform” America, nor go around apologizing for our supposed “sins”.

Remember folks, that, in the end, we’re all on the same side. And our most important goal in 2012 is removing this America-hating Marxist and his administration of unaccountable “czars”.

And remember what Obama’s senior adviser Valerie Jarrett said in 2008 to Tom Brokaw on “Meet The Press”: “(Obama) will be ready to rule from day one”. And most importantly, remember that this was not a slip of the tongue.

Watch the speech and pay attention, especially after the 9:00 mark….

Real and Perceived Consequences of Shale Gas Development

There has been a dramatic increase in the numbers of shale gas wells drilled in the U.S. during the past ten years. The most prolific shale gas fields are the Barnett (north central Texas), Haynesville (northeastern Texas and western Louisiana) and the Marcellus (portions of Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and New York). Hydraulic fracturing (fracing) of the producing formation is the process by which high volumes of water are pumped downhole under high pressures in order to fracture the productive formation thereby releasing the gas to production.

As one would expect, the anti-fossil fuel green crowd and their lawyers have sought to do everything in their power to block drilling in these new gas fields. Their main ploy has been to claim that fresh groundwater has been polluted as a result of the fracing process. The main and simple truth of the matter is that (as illustrated above) the groundwater formation, just below the surface,  is cased with surface casing pipe. Additionally, the entire production string is cased from the producing zone to the wellhead . The producing formation which is fraced, is a mile and a half below the groundwater formation. The idea that fracing a well causes ground water contamination has as much merit as someone who lives a mile away from you claiming that their ceiling leaks every time you flush your toilet.

The University of Texas’ Energy Institute last week concluded and published the results of an exhaustive investigation into many issues related to shale gas development. Their conclusions pretty much mirror what industry experts have been saying for years. The findings

Researchers found no evidence of aquifer contamination from hydraulic fracturing chemicals in the subsurface by fracturing operations, and observed no leakage from hydraulic fracturing at depth.

Many reports of groundwater contamination occur in conventional oil and gas operations (e.g., failure of well-bore casing and cementing) and are not unique to hydraulic fracturing.

Methane found in water wells within some shale gas areas (e.g., Marcellus) can most likely be traced to natural sources, and likely was present before the onset of shale gas operations.

Surface spills of fracturing fluids appear to pose greater risks to groundwater sources than from hydraulic fracturing itself.

Blowouts — uncontrolled fluid releases during construction or operation — are a rare occurrence, but subsurface blowouts appear to be under-reported.

The study further shows that public perception of the fracing process has been negatively impacted by the overwhelmingly negative reporting by the biased and scientifically ignorant press.

Energy Institute researchers analyzed print, broadcast and online news media coverage of shale gas development in the Marcellus, Haynesville, and Barnett shale areas. They found that the tone of media coverage has been overwhelmingly negative in all forms of media. Roughly two-thirds of the articles and stories examined were deemed negative, a finding that was consistent nationally and at local levels.

Researchers also found that less than 20% of newspaper articles on hydraulic fracturing mention scientific research related to the issue. Similarly, only 25% of broadcast news stories examined made reference to scientific studies, and about 33% of online news coverage mentioned scientific research on the issue.

Don’t take my word for it. Read the entire article here.

Gallup State Numbers Predict Huge Electoral Loss for Obama

In what is perhaps the best election related news that I’ve seen in a long time, Gallup’s latest national poll numbers show what I have been predicting all along; a November blowout of Obama of Reagan-Carter proportions.

Gallup released their annual state-by-state presidential approval numbers yesterday, and the results should have 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue very worried. If President Obama carries only those states where he had a net positive approval rating in 2011 (e.g. Michigan where he is up 48 percent to 44 percent), Obama would lose the 2012 election to the Republican nominee 323 electoral votes to 215.

Gallup adds:

Overall, Obama averaged 44% job approval in his third year in office, down from 47% in his second year. His approval rating declined from 2010 to 2011 in most states, with Wyoming, Connecticut, and Maine showing a marginal increase, and Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Minnesota, New Jersey, Arizona, West Virginia, Michigan, and Georgia showing declines of less than a full percentage point. The greatest declines were in Hawaii, South Dakota, Nebraska, and New Mexico.
