Do not think that for one second that the same media which trashed Hillary Clinton for daring to seek the nomination in 2008 instead of passively making way for the Young Messiah will not  protect her in 2016.

by John Podhoretz

When it comes to Obama-era scandals, the American Right’s predominant emotion is frustration — a frustration that causes hypertension levels usually seen only in Cubs fans and the unfortunates hired to do PR for Lindsay Lohan and Shia LeBoeuf.

Liberals dubbed Ronald Reagan the “Teflon president” because they felt nothing ever stuck to him. President Obama is the Scotchguard president; the would-be scandals that ought to be dogging his administration simply seem to bead up into little droplets before they are briskly wiped away.

Conservatives will tell you, and rightly so, that this is happening because the mainstream media — the prestige press and the network television commentariat — are committing sins both of commission and omission. At times, they act as the president’s blocking tackles in some respects, speaking with contempt and dismissal when the scandals are even mentioned.

When they are not actively working in his defense, the media’s managers are downplaying the scandal stories as a general rule — and the failure to pursue them aggressively has the effect of quieting them down.

Why is this happening? Ironically, the mainstream media heavyweights may feel liberated from the responsibility of covering Obama administration malfeasances because of the existence of the alternative conservative media that have arisen over the past 20 years — talk radio, Fox News, and multiple websites.

Mainstream media types loathe the conservative media as much as the conservative media loathe them. The mainstream thinks conservative media are hysterical, ideologically driven by bad or stupid or evil ideas, and are simply after liberal scalps. They do not want to join those they consider jackals.

But the conservative media serve a second purpose, not only for their audiences but for the mainstream. The existence of the Right media means that the stories are being covered by someone, which relieves them of some of the responsibility they might otherwise feel to do the job themselves.

Even better, from their point of view, they also believe the stories are being covered in such a way that the mainstream media can dismiss them and attack them.

Well, did you know that the Attorney General of the United States was held in contempt back in June 2012 by the House of Representatives for refusing to provide documents to oversight committees regarding the demented Justice Department program that peddled guns to drug dealers later used to kill a federal agent?

That was no small thing — in fact, never before has such a sanction against a sitting cabinet member been declared by Congress. An unprecedented event is the very definition of news, and yet it went all but unacknowledged when it happened — dismissed as an election year stunt to harm the presidential candidacy of a man 90% of those who work in the media voted for.

[……]

Amazing to think it was only 11 months ago that the Internal Revenue Service admitted — on its own! — that it had outright targeted conservative groups for special (i.e., hostile) scrutiny in considering their applications for tax-exempt status. The matter seemed so serious that the president himself said he was outraged by it: “It’s inexcusable and Americans have a right to be angry about it and I am angry about it.”

Though he promised to hold the guilty parties accountable, and though several people resigned and/or retired, what has gone on since looks very much like stonewalling.

The IRS’s general counsel answered “I don’t recall” 80 times — 80 times! — when members of Congress asked him about what went on.

The now-retired person specifically in charge of the matter has repeatedly resorted to Fifth Amendment silence rather than answer Congressional questions.

[……]

And the once-angry president? He isn’t so angry any longer. There was “not even a smidgen of corruption” at work there, he told Bill O’Reilly.

Obama’s attitude is the mainstream attitude. Move along, nothing to see here.

This week, the former deputy director of the CIA acknowledged that he had disobeyed his then-boss, David Petraeus, and edited the administration’s talking points about the attack on an American consulate in Benghazi in September 2012 to remove reference to a terrorist attack.

You may not have heard about it. Why? Because the media long ago decided it was not interested in Benghazi. More that that: the one star reporter who was, Sheryl Atkisson of CBS News, found it necessary to quit her job earlier this year amid reports she couldn’t get airtime because her boss disapproved of the story.

The person serving as Obama’s secretary of state when the attacks happened actually demanded to know what difference the details made about the murder of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others in Benghazi. That person is now the frontrunner for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2016.

She, too, will get 90% of the media vote.

Obama is Scotchguarded because the people who are supposed to be holding him to account are the ones holding the spray can.

Words, just words.

To, if, what, where… Just words, no meaning in and of their selves. This is what the liberals have discovered. It is what conservatives don’t understand. Words only mean what the individuals employing them mean, nothing else, and at no other time. A dictionary full of words means nothing, it has no meaning, those are just empty pages laying around filled with unused words.

A lie is defined by conservatives as an intentional application of words by one individual to other individuals where in the truth is intentional distorted or concealed. To a liberal, there is no such thing as a lie (unless it’s the liberal on the receiving end of the lie) there are only words, words to be used to achieve whatever goal the liberal desires.

Words that only take on meaning when they are actively being used, that have no meaning the second that they are no longer needed to achieve something. To a conservative guns do not kill, human beings kill, and sometimes they use guns to do that killing. To a liberal, words are like guns, they don’t mean anything in and of themselves, they are just tools, they cannot do or mean anything by themselves.

Barack Obama and Erick Holder understand the above statements better than even most liberals. Better even then the useless imbeciles in the Fifth Column Treasonous Media who have so ruthlessly employed those concepts to get the first Marxist elected and protect him from being exposed as the liar and treasonous Marxist he is.

House Judiciary Committee opens formal perjury investigation into Holder testimony

Eric Holder may face an uphill battle in his charm offensive with the media. He’s already failing miserably on Capitol Hill. Today the House Judiciary Committee opened a formal investigation into Holder’s testimony last week to determine if the Attorney General committed perjury:

The top two Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday formally initiated an investigation into whether Attorney General Eric Holder lied under oath during his May 15 testimony on the Justice Department’s (DOJ) surveillance of reporters.

Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) and Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.), the chairman of the subcommittee on investigations, sent a letter to Holder detailing specific aspects of his testimony that they say conflicts with subsequent media reports.

The letter demands specific answers to questions raised by later revelations that, despite his protests to the contrary, Holder not only knew about Department of Justice efforts to accuse reporters of crimes under the Espionage Act of 1917, he personally approved the warrant that made the claim:

“How can you claim to have never been involved in the potential prosecution of a member of the media but you were admittedly involved in discussions regarding Mr. Rosen’s email?,” the letter asks. “How can you claim to have never even heard of the potential prosecution of the press but were, at a minimum, involved in discussions regarding Mr. Rosen?”

You see, perjury isn’t a lie when it’s told by a liberal like Erick Holder, or even Barack Obama. Erick Holder lied to congress over Operation Fast and Furious and the useless imbeciles in the Fifth Column Treasonous Media protected him. Barack Obama lied to the entire United States of America protecting his stooge Erick Holder.

The Fifth Column Treasonous Media are at it again.

Too dumb to check: Holder’s huddle with media on press freedoms will be … off the record

Gut-check time for the press: If they’re truly offended by the DOJ’s secret snooping on James Rosen and the AP, they won’t agree to attend Holder’s gladhanding session unless/until he agrees to make it on the record, right? Press freedom and government transparency are either important or they’re not. If they’re not, then yeah, an off-the-record session in which the powers that be privately assure a guild that they’re on their side will do just fine. Happens all the time in the Obama White House.

Which is it?

The news of a meeting between Holder and the bureau chiefs comes amid widespread criticism from journalists and civil liberties advocates over the DOJ’s seizure of Associated Press phone records and an accusation that Fox News reporter James Rosen could be part of a criminal conspiracy for his reporting.

The fact that Holder is meeting with the bureau chiefs is on the record, but Nanda Chitre, acting director of the DOJ’s public affairs office, confirmed to The Huffington Post that the meeting itself will be off the record. Media organizations, however, will surely want such a newsworthy meeting with the attorney general to be on the record, and it remains to be seen if they will agree to meet under off-the-record ground rules.

Remember, words in and off themselves have no meanings, they only mean what the person using them intends them to mean and only for when they intended them to. When the useless imbeciles in the Fifth Column Treasonous Media use words to hide things or to give them meanings other than what those seeing or hearing those words believe they should mean, it isn’t lying. It’s, well, honestly, it’s whatever the useless imbeciles claim it is.

This is why Barack Obama and Erick Holder have so far gotten away with the lies that they have told. Because the Fifth Column Treasonous Media have done everything to protect the Obamanation administration, despite the fact that the Obamanation administration is and has betrayed their trust.

The Fifth Column Treasonous Media has been hoisted upon their own petard in the most ironic of fashions. They vested the totality of their self worth’s, of their emotional beings in Barack Insane Obama being who they wanted him to be, in who they hoped that he was. They wanted and needed him to be their fantasy perfect Marxist Messiah.

The problem is, he isn’t, wasn’t and never will be their perfect Marxist Messiah. More importantly, Barack Insane Obama never intended to be the useless imbeciles in the Fifth Column Treasonous Media’s perfect Marxist Messiah, it was always his intention to betray the Fifth Column Treasonous Media.

Now the Fifth Column Treasonous Media cannot return the favor without exposing themselves as, well, the useless imbeciles that they are. Like I said, hoisted deliciously upon their own petards. Tragically for the average American, it means that the Obamanation administration is going to continue being protected. Protected by useless imbeciles who have their genitals caught in a meat grinder, they can’t get free of what they have done, and only can prevent further mutilation of themselves by continuing to lie about what they have already done.

Dershowitz: Drop George Zimmerman’s murder charge

SANFORD, FL - APRIL 12: George Zimmerman (C) appears for a bond hearing with his attorney Mark O'Mara (R) at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility April 12, 2012 in Sanford, Florida. Zimmerman was charged yesterday with second degree murder in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin who died February 26, 2012. (Photo by Gary Green/The Orlando Sentinel-Pool/Getty Images)

Yesterday’s release of the Trayvon Martin autopsy report lends further credence to George Zimmerman’s claim of self defense in the shooting of Martin. The only injuries to Martin’s body were the fatal bullet wound to the heart and abrasions on his knuckles. There is no evidence that Zimmerman landed even one blow on Martin while the injuries sustained by Zimmerman included 2 black eyes, a broken nose and cuts to the back of his head. Most of that evidence was known to the police on the night of the incident yet State Attorney Angela Corey withheld that evidence from the affidavit charging Zimmerman with 2nd degree murder. Alan Dershowitz claims that by withholding known evidence, Corey has acted unethically, unlawfully and unprofessionally and the charge against Zimmerman should be dropped.

A medical report by George Zimmerman’s doctor has disclosed that Zimmerman had a fractured nose, two black eyes, two lacerations on the back of his head and a back injury on the day after the fatal shooting. If this evidence turns out to be valid, the prosecutor will have no choice but to drop the second-degree murder charge against Zimmerman — if she wants to act ethically, lawfully and professionally.

There is, of course, no assurance that the special prosecutor handling the case, State Attorney Angela Corey, will do the right thing. Because until now, her actions have been anything but ethical, lawful and professional.

She was aware when she submitted an affidavit that it did not contain the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. She deliberately withheld evidence that supported Zimmerman’s claim of self-defense. The New York Times has reported that the police had “a full face picture” of Zimmerman, before paramedics treated him, that showed “a bloodied nose.” The prosecutor also had photographic evidence of bruises to the back of his head.

But none of this was included in any affidavit.

Now there is much more extensive medical evidence that would tend to support Zimmerman’s version of events. This version, if true, would establish self-defense even if Zimmerman had improperly followed, harassed and provoked Martin.

Viktor Bout, a notorious Russian arms dealer known as “the Merchant of Death”, was captured in Bangkok and extradited to the U.S. in 2008. He was convicted of selling weapons to terrorists (specifically Columbia’s FARK) in 2010 and sentenced to 25 years in prison. Now it seems that Attorney General Eric Holder wants to return Bout to his native Russian so he can serve out his term in the Motherland. Just one hitch; the Russians have always contested the charges against Bout and his conviction in a U.S. court.

Attorney General Eric Holder told Russian news outlets that the U.S. may return convicted arms dealer and terrorist Viktor Bout, the infamous “Merchant of Death,” to Russia to serve out the remainder of his 25-year prison term related to his terrorism conviction in the United States.

In 2010 Holder called Bout “one of the world’s most prolific arms traffickers.” He has also labeled the Russian ”a source of concern around the globe for decades.” But Russian news agency Itar-Tass reported that Holder moderated his tone from those prior statements.

Bout, 45, was arrested in Bangkok in 2008 and extradited to the United States. He was found guilty in 2010 of arms smuggling conspiracy and sentenced to 25 years in prison and five years of supervised release. Additionally, he was fined $15 million for his role in conspiring to sell artillery and missiles to the terrorist Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia. After spending more than a year in solitary confinement, Bout was transferred to a prison in Brooklyn where he awaits another move, to a maximum security prison in Colorado.

The Russian government has contested Bout’s trial, calling the evidence “too thin to make far-reaching accusations.”

In 2010, the Daily Beast alleged ties between Bout and the Russian intelligence service. The 2005 film “Lord of War” is allegedly based on Bout’s experience as a veteran arms dealer with major roles in numerous international conflicts.

Hmmm… “One of the world’s most prolific arms traffickers”? I wonder how Viktor Bout would compare to  the ringleader of an international gunrunning enterprise known as “Fast and Furious”?
