The Israel Air Force launches a precision strike against various Hamas-linked terror targets in Gaza on 7.1.2009.

You are probably not going to be surprised, but this is just further proof that Hamas uses Arab civilians as human shields in its brutal campaign against Israel’s innocent civilians.

Israel Acts Because The World Wont Defend It

~Daniel Finkelstein of The ‘Times of London’ asks you to “understand Israel.”~

“The origin of the state of Israel…is the experience of  oppression and murder, the fear of total annihilation and the bitter conclusion that world opinion could not be relied upon to protect the Jews.

So when Israel is urged to respect world opinion and put its faith in the international community the point is rather being missed.

The very idea of Israel is a rejection of this option. Israel only exists because Jews do not feel safe as the wards of world opinion. Zionism, that word that is so abused, so reviled, is founded on a determination that, at the end of the day, somehow the Jews will defend themselves and their fellow Jews from destruction. If world opinion was enough, there would be no Israel.

The poverty and the death and the despair among the Palestinians in Gaza moves me to tears. How can it not? Who can see pictures of children in a war zone or a slum street and not be angry and bewildered and driven to protest? And what is so appalling is that it is so unnecessary. For there can be peace and prosperity at the smallest of prices. The Palestinians need only say that they will allow Israel to exist in peace. They need only say this tiny thing, and mean it, and there is pretty much nothing they cannot have.

Yet they will not say it. And they will not mean it. For they do not want the Jews. Again and again – again and again – the Palestinians have been offered a nation state in a divided Palestine. And again and again they have turned the offer down, for it has always been more important to drive out the Jews than to have a Palestinian state. It is difficult sometimes to avoid the feeling that Hamas and Hezbollah don’t want to kill Jews because they hate Israel. They hate Israel because they want to kill Jews.

There cannot be peace until this changes. For Israel will not rely on airy guarantees and international gestures to defend it. At its very core, it will not. It will lay down its arms when the Jews are safe, but it will not do it until they are.”

Among other reasons, Israel was created because the world does not come to the aid and protection of the Jewish people.  After thousands of years of Jews being the victims of murder, rape, pogroms, ethnic cleansing, second-class treatment, abuse, and humiliation, which culminated with The Holocaust, Jews realized that we no longer could foolishly depend on the world and/or world opinion to come to our rescue and save us.   It was in this context that the modern Jewish State of Israel was born.

It is exactly this newly realized Jewish pride, and right to self-defense that the world today, spearheaded by the Islamists, are trying to destroy.

Hamas Leader (Now Former) Nizar Rayyan Trained His Kids to Die

The following article is something to think about the next time you hear that the IDF has killed a Hamas terrorist and his entire family.

“When Hamas leader Nizar Rayyan was assassinated in an IAF strike last week, his four wives and 11 of his children died with him. According to his surviving children, the death of the Rayyan family children was not an accident: Rayyan had trained his wives and children to die with him as “martyrs.”

Surviving family members spoke to local Arab media and said that in the days before his death, Rayyan has repeatedly asked his children, “Who wants to die with me as a martyr?” The children would respond, “Yes, daddy, we all want to be with you alive or dead.”

Rayyan’s adult daughter, Wala, said even the younger children wished to die with their father.  If you had asked my four-year-old sister Aisha, who died in the attack, she would have told you that she preferred to die as a martyr,” Wala told Ma’an news.

One of Rayyan’s daughter-in-laws said she was offered the chance to die with the family. She stopped by the family’s large home in Jabaliya and was asked by Rayyan if she wished to die with him, his wives and their children. She agreed to die, but later left the building, shortly before the IAF strike.

As it turned out, when Rayyan offered his daughter-in-law the “opportunity” to die he had already received a phone call from the IDF warning him to evacuate his house due to an impending airstrike.

The 11 children who died with Nizar Rayyan ranged in age from one year old to 16. Another son died years earlier when Rayyan sent him to carry out a suicide bombing in Gaza. Two Israelis were murdered in that attack.

Rayyan was one of Hamas’ extremist preachers, and believed that those who die fighting Israel die as “martyrs” and go directly to paradise. He encouraged his followers to have several wives and as many children as possible, in order to provide future soldiers in the fight against Israel. He also encouraged Hamas to take over Judea and Samaria and carry out suicide attacks targeting Jews.”

The Images The Media Doesn’t Show

An incredible article written by the mother of an IDF Soldier. Read the article in full HERE.

Excerpt:

Yesterday, mortars were fired FROM the school In Jebalya. This was a direct and intentional attack on Israel, on Israel’s soldiers and population. Mortars are explosions. They are loud. You can’t pretend you didn’t hear them. Many months ago, I went to a ceremony on a base where Elie had completed his basic training. Part of the ceremony included Elie’s group showing their parents what they had learned. After the awards and the talking, some of the soldiers ran to the armored personnel vehicles, while others, including Elie sat on the ground and watched. An officer came near me, as I stood watching with my youngest daughter. He told me to sit down with the girl “on your lap.” So, we sat down, as the soldiers were doing. As another officer was explaining to the crowd about the types of explosives that would be fired, where they would be targeting (the hill a few kilometers in the distance), etc. I saw the soldiers stick their fingers in their ears.

I thought to myself – they’ve been doing this – they know. So I told my daughter to do the same…quickly. She did, and so did I. Except – then I couldn’t hear the explanation and so I uncovered my ears. Now, I’ve lived in Israel more than 15 years, but there is still sometimes a delay factor in my Hebrew comprehension. Now they are going to fire…took me too long and so, I heard and felt the BOOM as the cannons fired.

Everyone in that building yesterday KNEW that the school was being used as a launching ground…and yet, apparently not one of those thought it would be a smart thing to leave. That seems strange to me, unnatural. I was once in Jerusalem, walking with by two daughters when something “exploded” ahead of me. Everyone around me stopped, as I did. It was a bus hitting something that went flying in the air and crashed loudly into something else. People began to move and yet I stood there, unsure what to do. It should be both human instinct and parental instinct to move away from danger.

And the people who now mourn the “innocents” who died in yesterday’s attack on the United Nations school don’t question why people remained in the building from which these weapons were fired. They don’t question that this defies human instinct and certainly what should have been every parent’s first reaction.
