The Temple Mount is in our hands! I repeat, the Temple Mount is in our hands!

-General Uzi Narkiss announcing the liberation of Jerusalem, June 7, 1967

Today marks the 42nd anniversary of one of the most amazing miracles of our lifetime.  After approximately 2,000 years of exile, the Jewish holy city of Jerusalem has once again been united, liberated, and placed back into the hands of the G-d’s chosen people.  The significance of this momentous event to the history, identity, and religious prophecy of the Jewish people cannot be overstated. It is a blessing of biblical proportions!

If G-d was still writing the Torah, Jerusalem’s liberation in 1967 would have gone into it.

The dreams, prayers, yearnings, and greatest unimaginable hope of countless Jews throughout history had finally been answered.  G-d’s promise had been witnessed and fulfilled!  The Temple Mount is in our hands…the Temple Mount is in our hands:  Jerusalem -Judaism’s holiest city, our greatest joy -has been liberated!

The Six Day War was a watershed moment in Jewish history.  Only days before the great victory, Israelis were facing a national calamity, an existential threat, as five Arab armies were amassing to snuff out the 19-year-old state.  Plans were drawn to convert parks to cemeteries – so palpable was the threat.  Before the war, Israel’s farmers in the Kinneret communities were being fired upon regularly from the Syrian-controlled Golan Heights, fresh water supplies were under constant threat of enemy diversion, and of course the holy places were inaccessible: the Western Wall and Temple Mount, Joseph’s tomb, Hebron and more were all under Arab control.

In the wake of the war, however, Israel had swelled to thrice its size.  From the majestic Hermon to the blue beaches of Gaza, from Kfar Etzion to Kfar Darom, from Mount Sinai to the Temple Mount, Israel expanded west, east, north and south just as the Biblical prophecy foretold.   In the same Biblical vein, the Arab armies not only lost, they seemed to flee in seven directions. The desert was strewn with boots which Egyptian troops took off to hasten their retreat.

The Six Day War saw Israel’s security established, as the buffer between Israel and her enemies grow significantly. No less important was the euphoria generated by the miraculous victory – now Israel saw itself as more than surviving, it was thriving! Worldwide Jewry received a boost of national pride. This pride brought about an unprecedented wave of North American Aliyah and eventually brought about Soviet Jewish aspirations to break out of the iron wall. The war also awakened a will to settle those lands liberated – to live in and around Hebron and Shechem, to climb the heights of the Golan, to farm the desolate sands of Gaza.

The Six Day War also awakened a longing for a rebuilt and united Jerusalem. The Western Wall plaza was created, the Jewish Quarter was brought back to life, and the gleam of the Temple flickered in the eyes of the saints.

The Six Day War is at once a modern victory fought with planes and artillery, and at the same time a triumphant return by an ancient people to their ancient homeland. It is a testament to the grit and valor of Israeli society and the Israeli soldier, yet it is also the revelation of G-d’s Mighty Hand to save His nation which had been strewn amongst the nations for two thousand years.

After Obama’s Meeting With Netanyahu, MSM Works Overtime To Manufacture Anti-Israel Sentiment

The international mainstream media has been working overtime to shift the narrative regarding the Arab-Israel conflict, and place all blame on Israel’s shoulders – despite the reality being the complete opposite.  Although many of us have come to accept this from the press, a sharp left turn against Israel has become more apparent, and they are using all the weapons of propaganda in their arsenal.

Fauxtography

What better place to start than with with Fautography from the AP in Bilin?  The Associated Press would have you believe that this man holding a key aloft in one hand, and raising the other in a defiant fist, directly in front of a photographer Bernat Armangue simply “passed out” from tear gas at a Nakba demonstration this week.

For those who do not know, Bilin is home of the West Bank’s longest continuous run of manufactured dissent and grandstanding for the cameras.  It is “ground zero” for the ISM, and their ilk to Paliwood riots, and “IDF abuses”.

Inverting The Facts / Shaping The Discussion

The AP however, didn’t stop there.  Much of their, and other’s, media coverage of Netanyahu’s meeting with Obama this week tended to concentrate on Netanyahu’s refusal to formally endorse the creation of a Palestinian state dispite the fact that this is a misnomer regarding his position.  In fact, while with President Obama,  Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, spoke eagerly about renewing negotiations and expressed support for Palestinian autonomy.  Despite this, the media’s coverage implied that his position presented an obstacle to peace.

While the media outlets focused on the negative with Netanyahu, the real obstacle to peace – Hamas – continued to be treated completely differently.  In an Associated Press article published the day after the meeting, the A.P. provided a platform for Hamas leaders to propagandize to the West and falsely express “moderate” positions, such as a quote from Hamas lawmaker Yehiye Moussa saying, the group is “not demanding to destroy Israel.”

This is despite the fact that, as writer Karen Laub point out, that Hamas is not about to change its ideology – which explicitly precludes any recognition of Israel.  Insofar that it is the historically stated position of Hamas that it is their ultimate goal to destroy Israel, an honest reporter would have to conclude that nothing has changed with Hamas.  However, Karen Laub streteches reality to note that Hamas has begun “raising the possibility they would someday accept a Palestinian state alongside Israel.”

So while Netanyahu’s call for Palestinian autonomy is treated as insufficient and anti-peace, Hamas’s rhetorical, though not ideological or practical, shift from total rejectionism is presented as a cause for hope.

Blaming The Victim; Ignoring The Huge Kiffiyah Wearing Elephant

Last, but definatly not least, in this hall of shame is England’s “The Independent” which stands out from the crowd with a glaring omission.

In an article by Donald Macintyre, “Israel goes cold on plan for regional peace deal,” a list of “obstacles to peace” includes issues such as settlements, Palestinian infighting, Iran, Syria and Israel’s own apparent reluctance to publicly endorse a Palestinian state.

Putting aside the relative importance or otherwise of issues such as settlements being primary stumbling blocks, Macintyre conveniently forgets a very real and potentially the greatest obstacle to peace – Palestinian terror and violence.

How can Macintyre omit the thousands of missiles fired from Gaza at Sderot and surrounding Israeli communities for several years (and before the Hamas takeover of the Gaza Strip)? Indeed, only the day before Macintyre’s piece was published, Sderot endured a Qassam rocket attack on a courtyard adjacent to two private homes. One resident was wounded while several others were treated for shock.

And how can Macintyre forget the brutal campaign of suicide attacks against Israeli buses, cafes and other civilian targets that has claimed the lives of over 1000 Israelis and wounded thousands more since the year 2000? While major attacks have declined recently thanks to Israeli counter measures such as the Security Fence, the incentive for terrorist groups to carry out similar acts of violence has not.

We could also add to the list other potential obstacles to peace, for example, Palestinian intractability on issues such as the right of return, incitement in Palestinian media and the education system that has poisoned Palestinian minds, and the increasing role of Islamic extremism represented by Hamas.

The way that the Pro-Arab propagandists, useful-idiots, and Terror sympathisersr associate home building, with murder is truly disgusting.

DONT JUST SIT THERE….DO SOMETHING!

Please write to The Independent – letters@independent.co.uk – to remind them that there are many potential obstacles to peace and that some of these that the paper has omitted, are the responsibility of the Palestinian side to overcome.

You can also contact The Associated Press – to remind them of their duty to provide unbiased, truthful reporting on such an important issue.

Obama to Israel; heel, sit, now roll over and beg!

From : Telegraph UK

The President will use a meeting with Mr Netanyahu in Washington on Monday to tell him that from now on Israel must earn its privileged relationship with America.

Mr Obama will make clear that he will not allow his foreign policy objectives to be dictated by the Jewish state’s interests, and that its leaders must resume working for peace with the Palestinians.

I hope Israel stands up and gives TOTUS the middle finger!
Now lets see what the TOTUS administration says to the “Palestinians”

March 2, 2009 From : CNN

The United States has offered more than $900 million to help the Palestinian people, particularly those in Gaza, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced Monday.

“Only by acting now can we turn this crisis into an opportunity that moves us closer to our shared goals,” Clinton said at a Gaza donors conference hosted by Egypt in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh.

“By providing humanitarian assistance to Gaza, we also aim to foster conditions in which a Palestinian state can be fully realized.”
[…]
President Obama has not ruled out talks with Hamas but said the group must first renounce violence, recognize Israel, and abide by previous agreements that successive Palestinian governments have reached with the Israelis.

The article makes no mention if the $900 million is contingent upon anything and it doesn’t sound like they have to beg for it either. The mythical Palestinians have rejected peace with Israel for 60 plus years, even $1 trillion dollars is not going to make them change now.

U.S. Training “Palestinian” Army; Warns They Might Become Terrorists

Since at least 2006, the U.S. has been funding and training -to the tune of 161 million American tax dollars so far- a huge, and professional “Palestinian” army to take over when if they get another state.  The individual heading this future debacle is Lt. Gen. Keith Dayton, U.S. security coordinator for Israel and the Palestinian Authority.   Lt. Gen Dayton has lived and worked in Jerusalem and across the West Bank, overseeing the creation of three “Palestinian” battalions of troops, hand-picked in the West Bank, trained at an academy in Jordan, and then deployed in the Judea and Samaria.  These three 500-man battalions are intended to grow, to as many as ten battalions.  During a speak to the  Washington Institute for Near East Policy (“WINEP”) Dayton stated that their mission is to “create a Palestinian state.

Frighteningly, the training which has already occurred is only the beginning.  While speaking in Tukarm (In Judea/Samaria) Lt. Gen Dayton stated that “If it goes the way the administration has asked for, we will accelerate dramatically what we are doing here in terms of training and equipment, and filling in the gaps in between.”

The additional training program requires approval from Congress for more funding that would allow the construction for more “Palestinian” military bases in Judea and Samaria.  Without defining the cost of the additional training and construction, Dayton stated it will entail “more financial support than we have ever had before.”  That is quite a statement about a group that has received more than 1 billions dollars per year from the U.S. alone.

Both the past Bush administration and the current Obama government declared the training helps the standing and security of PA Chairman and Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas, who they foolishly consider a moderate peace partner for Israel, despite his refusal to recognize Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state, and his “government’s” policy of killing people who sell land to Jews.

This brilliant idea was born of the naive belief that these troops would primarily be deployed against two targets in Judea & Samaria: criminal gangs, and Hamas.  Lt. Gen. Dayton is no dummy.  He fully recognizes that by organizing and training thousands of highly organized “Palestinians”, professionally led, he is creating in effect a nationalist army that like all other attempts to train, fund, and outfit “Palestinians” will be used against Israel.  From his comments to WINEP, you would think that this was actually his intent.

Responding to a question from Paul Wolfowitz, Dayton responded to these concerns by issuing a not-so vailed threat to Israel stating that:  “the troops can only be strung along for just so long…there is perhaps a two-year shelf life on being told that you’re creating a state, when you’re not.”

‘PA Army May Rebel’ if Israel Does not Agree to Peace Demands

His comments were tantamount to a warning that a rebellion is around the corner if Israel does not agree to PA demands, according to investigative journalist Robert Dreyfuss, writing in The Nation magazine.

“To my ears, at least, his subtle warning is that if concrete progress isn’t made toward a Palestinian state, the very troops Dayton is assembling could rebel,” wrote Dreyfuss, who also has authored a book blaming the United States and Israel for having allegedly encouraged the existence of Hamas as a way to weaken former Palestinian Liberation Organization leader Yasser Arafat.

In his speech, Dayton did not detail methods used by the PA security forces, but Human Watch Rights has accused the PA and Hamas of resorting torture to as well as summary executions.  One PA Arab is on death row for the stated crime of selling property to Jews.

He focused on the “national security interest of the United States to help resolve the Israeli-Palestinian dispute” and his re-shaping the PA forces. He said that his position as U.S. Security Coordinator was created “to allay Israeli fears about the nature and capabilities of the Palestinian security forces,” a term used instead of “soldiers” in order not to conjure up an image of a military force in the PA.

However, his comment on the consequences of the failure to establish a new PA state indicated that the PA army – or special force –  might use its counterterrorist training to attack Israel as well as possibly rebel against the PA.

Several terrorist attacks and attempted attacks the past two years have involved PA security forces. In January, 2008, a PA security officer, a PA clerk and a third terrorist were involved in the murders of Ahikam Amihai and David Rubin who were hiking near Hevron. One of the victims managed to kill one of the attackers before succumbing to his own wounds. A third youth escaped unharmed.

Beyond the obvious problems with this scenario (the cost to the American tax payer, the threat to Israel) the training of these troops actually directly conflicts with the “Palestinian” responsibilities per the Oslo Accords -signed by them in 1993 -which limit “Palestinian” military activities. So, once again, while the U.S. is insisting that Israel follow past agreements, they are allowing (and in this case directly assisting) the Arabs flaunt their obligations.

This isn’t the first time that the U.S., or Israel has tried the “let’s train them, and arm them; what could go wrong” tactic towards Arab-Israel peace.  If it were, I just might give it the benefit of the doubt -because I want peace as much, if not more, than the next person.

In only 2006, after the U.S. transferred weapons, money, and training to Abu Mazen’s (Mahmood Abbas) personal “Force 17”, the “Palestinians” stated that they would never use any force against their own people, or Hamas, but instead would us all weapons transferred from the U.S. against Israel.  True to their word, not too long thereafter the weapons were used in a terrorist attack against Israel.

In 2007, (after numerous weapon transfers from the U.S. and Israel) while Hamas was squabbling with Fatah, Palestinian Authority President, Abu Mazen, called on Palestinian factions to put an end to weeks of infighting and instead “raise rifles against the Israeli occupation.”

When will we ever learn?
