Raaaaacism?

Yesterday, hackers changed the message on one of the ubiquitous portable illuminated traffic signs in Florida. From NBC Miami, we get this report:

A highway sign flashing “NO LATINOS NO TACOS” greeted drivers on the Palmetto Expressway in Northwest Miami-Dade, after hackers managed to alter it early Tuesday morning.

The sign was in the northbound side of the 826, right near the Northwest 25th street exit.

It’s unknown how long the sign had been flashing the message, but by 6 a.m., members of the Florida Highway Patrol and a road crew had turned the sign away from the highway and were working to erase the message.

Almost immediately the MSM and left-wing blogs (like this one) tagged the prank as right-wing racism. Seems that everyone has forgotten about this unadulterated image:

According to the race-baiters, illegal immigrants and legal hispanics are way too stooopid to figure out the complexity of a programmable road sign, so it’s gotta be the evil Mr. Whitey McConservative. Good thing that the lovely and gracious Missus X is a Latina, because I’d never be able figure out how to make tacos or burritos on my own.

Meanwhile, this was spotted near Copperhill, Tennessee:

Much of today’s racism is promoted by the left, just like it always has been. And because of it, we have another post for an Overnight Open Thread.

Only morons, cheats and liars still believe in Man-Made Global Warming

Here’s a great article about the human-caused global warming hoax, perpetuated by the likes of morons such as Algore and a certain 58 yr. old comic book reading, tricycle riding, washed-up ukulele playing, pony-tailed douchebag (whom shall remain nameless to avoid embarrassing her) from yesterday’s London Daily Telegraph…

By James Delingpole

Well of course I would write a headline like that having just spent the last three days in Chicago at the Heartland Institute’s 4th International Conference on Climate Change. This is the event the cackling, cloak-wearing, be-fanged AGW-denying community attends every year to glorify in their own evil. And naturally, in the wake of Climategate, a mood of uproarious triumphalism has prevailed as distinguished skeptical scientists, economists, and policymakers from around the world – Pat Michaels, Richard Lindzen, Ian Plimer, Bob Carter, Fred Singer.. you name them, they’re here – have gathered to dance on the smoldering ashes of the mythical beast ManBearPig.

Except we shouldn’t use that word “skeptic” any more. Richard Lindzen – Godfather of Climate Realism – told us so in one of the keynote addresses.

“Skepticism implies doubts about a plausible proposition,” he said. “Current global warming alarmism hardly represents a plausible proposition.” Not least, he pointed out, because the various activist scientists, greenies and government institutions pushing AGW theory have failed to “improve their case over 20 years.” So paper thin are the AGW movement’s arguments that pretty much the only defences left to them are desperate techniques like the appeal to authority (“the Royal Society believes in AGW and the Royal Society is, like, really old and distinguished, so AGW must be true”) and cheap slurs.

Alan Caruba’s theory about Barack Obama

I received this email and it is absolutely spot-on! Mr. Caruba’s excellent work can be read at his blog Warning Signs.

I have this theory about Barack Obama. I think he’s led a kind of make-believe life in which money was provided and doors were opened because at some point early on somebody or some group took a look at this tall, good looking, half-white, half-black, young man with an exotic African/Muslim name and concluded he could be guided toward a life in politics where his facile speaking skills could even put him in the White House.

In a very real way, he has been a young man in a very big hurry. Who else do you know has written two memoirs before the age of 45? “Dreams of My Father” was published in 1995 when he was only 34 years old. The “Audacity of Hope” followed in 2006. If, indeed, he did write them himself. There are some who think that his mentor and friend, Bill Ayers, a man who calls himself a “communist with a small ‘c'” was the real author.

(…..)

The mainstream political media fell in love with him. It was a schoolgirl crush with febrile commentators like Chris Mathews swooning then and now over the man. The venom directed against McCain and, in particular, Palin, was extraordinary.

Downtown Blogmocracy

There was an interesting discussion rant thread late last night/early this morning over at The Village. Although it was filled with the usual lies and distortions, there was a larger than average portion of manic vitriol coming from the vapor-ridden.

It’s intuitively obvious to the causal observer that someone spiked LVQ’s vaporizer with Testor’s; therefore, this thread is dedicated to Mr. Cut-n-Paste and the blog he rode in on. Here’s to you.

Did someone say Overnight Open Thread? Thought so.
