Nicolas Sarkozy loses French Election

Socialist Francois Hollande defeated incumbent French President Nicolas Sarkozy. Before anyone sheds tears, Sarkozy was an admirer of Obama and supported the Islamic takeover of Libya. His loss will not make a difference. It is the French who will now pay the consequences of electing a Far Left Socialist.’

Socialist Francois Hollande has been elected as France’s new president.

He got about 52% of votes in Sunday’s run-off, according to early projections, against 48% for centre-right incumbent Nicolas Sarkozy.

Mr Sarkozy has admitted defeat, saying: “Francois Hollande is the president of France and he must be respected.”

Analysts say the vote has wide implications for the whole eurozone. Mr Hollande has vowed to rework a deal on government debt in member countries.

Exuberant Hollande supporters have already converged on Place de la Bastille in Paris – a traditional rallying point of the Left – to celebrate.

Mr Hollande capitalised on France’s economic woes and President Sarkozy’s unpopularity.

The socialist candidate has promised to raise taxes on big corporations and people earning more than 1m euros a year.

He also wants to raise the minimum wage, hire 60,000 more teachers and lower the retirement age from 62 to 60 for some workers.

Let the French reap what they sow.

Europeans Still Love Obama

Obama’s approval is in the low to mid 40’s. It’s still too high for his poor job performance. Either way Americans have soured on Barack Hussein Obama. However, in Europe Obama remains deeply popular. He actually made a campaign stop in Berlin, something not seen for a President. Despite his failures he is beloved on the old continent.

CANNES, France – After spending less than 36 hours in Europe last week for a G-20 summit of world economic leaders, President Obama may wish he could run on his record for re-election here rather than back home.

The stalled U.S. economy, his biggest political burden, is doing just fine by today’s European standards. His actions in 2009 to stimulate the economy, administer bank bailouts and regulate financial institutions, attacked by Republican opponents, were the subjects of tutorials for European leaders who increasingly must follow his lead.

And his national security record — a full Iraq pullout, the slower planned exodus from Afghanistan, the successful military operation in Libya and especially the killing of terrorists led by Osama bin Laden — is appreciated.

“We need the leadership of Barack Obama,” French President Nicolas Sarkozy gushed just hours after the U.S. president’s arrival here. “He is much loved and much liked here in France.”

Well Sarkozy, if the Republicans put up a Economic/Fiscal Conservative as their candidate, you can have Mr. Obama in 2013. Make him the head of your collapsing European Union. Then again, I wish Obama on no nation.

The fact that his policies are considered successful in Europe explains why that continent is in trouble.

Update: At the G-20 Summit, Both French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Obama we caught talking when they thought the microphone was off. The subject was Israeli PM Netanyahu. Both both mean had nothing good to say about the Israeli leader.

PARIS –  French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who has labored to improve French relations with Israel, said he “can’t stand” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and called him a liar in a conversation with President Barack Obama.

[….]
In the remarks Thursday in Cannes, Sarkozy said: “Netanyahu, I can’t stand him. He’s a liar.”

According to the French interpreter, Obama responded: “You are sick of him, but I have to work with him every day.”

Nice friends Israel has.

Sarkozy to Visit Libyan Rebls

French President Nicolas Sarkozy was the lead instigator against Qaddafi. The Libyans fined a French Oil company and rejected a bid by Rafael to provide fighters for their air force. The French President also did this to boost his re-election bid next year. Obama and the US were suckered in to assist this endeavor. Even worse, evidence has come out that the Libyan rebels are affiliated by AL-Qaeda and there are even Hizb’Allah fighters present as well. Despite this, French President Nicolas Sarkozy will visit the Jihadist stronghold of Benghazi.

PARIS, April 22 (Reuters) – French President Nicolas Sarkozy intends to make a short trip to the Libyan rebel bastion of Benghazi, sources close to him told Reuters on Friday, as France steps up airstrikes against Muammar Gaddafi's forces.

The head of the opposition Libyan National Council, Mustafa Abdel Jalil, invited Sarkozy to the eastern city when he met the president in Paris this week, telling reporters a visit would boost the morale of opposition fighters.

Sources close to the president said that Sarkozy — the first foreign leader to formally recognise the Libyan rebels — is likely to accept the invitation but would not advance a date.

This is just sickening! American treasure is being spent for French and British oil interest. We will borrow money and get nothing out of it. This needs to end!

When the Libyan “Popular Uprising” began back in February, many of us here at the Blogmocracy knew something was fishy. Other prominent Conservative blogs like Hot Air, plus websites like National Review and Weekly Standard, were all calling for intervention Libya. This blog proudly was the only Conservative blog at the time that didn’t repeat the RNC talking points. We said: “stop, something fishy is going on”.

Our resident Jihadi expert, Philip Daniels pointed out there were reports that Al-Qaeda created an Emirate in Eastern Libya. Many were doubtful of this. I knew that Philip was correct and did the following post that same day.
