Conservatives tired of the Republican Party

I laugh when I hear the media claims the GOP has gone extreme Right.  On Social issues you can argue the GOP is Conservative, but on economic, fiscal and foreign policy, no way. The truth is historically speaking the Republicans are a Center-Left Party that manipulates Conservatives through the use of social issues. Many Conservatives are realizing the con job that the GOP has pulled on them.

It should come as no surprise that the Republican National Committee has been “covertly” supporting Mitt Romney throughout the primaries, as POLITICO recently “revealed.” It was the worst-kept secret in Washington

The RNC has always been the center of Republican insiderism — what the insiders call pragmatism. Consider, back when Roger Stone was at the Young Republicans, in 1975, he hung up a portrait of Ronald and Nancy Reagan in his office. Within hours, the order came down from the chairman’s suite: Take the picture down. At once.

Stone was not the only conservative with misgivings about the GOP. Reagan, the über outsider, called for a “new Republican Party” back in 1977. Reagan wanted the GOP to shed its country club, corporate boardroom image and become a genuine conservative movement, focused on the individual.

Reagan’s words threatened the status quo of the scions and heiresses of the country club and corporate boardroom set. The former California governor and his conservative followers were never accepted by these insiders — even after he won the presidency in 1980.

Reagan and Stone were not alone in their discomfort with the GOP — or the broader meaning of Republicanism. Indeed, Stone recently left the GOP, as have millions of others — judging by the dwindling numbers of real conservatives willing to associate with the Grand Old Party.

Although Conservatives will vote for Mitt Romney,  for many this could be the last time they vote Republican. If Mitt Romney governs as the Liberal his record indicates it is and gets us in a war in Syria, that will be the end of the Conservative support of the GOP. This is their last chance and many like me are dead serious. The GOP is on notice.

The GOP Money now supporting Mitt Romney

With Chris Christie declining to run, GOP big money insiders are now pledging allegiance to Mitt Romney.

With Governor Chris Christie confirming today that he won’t seek the presidency, some big-name donors are finally ready to commit themselves to Mitt Romney.

“A lot of us who normally would have been in this presidential race a long time ago, have been waiting for Christie to make a decision,” said Georgette Mosbacher, a Republican uber-fund-raiser and finance co-chair of the Republican National Committee who was among a group of Republican bundlers hoping to convince Christie to enter the race. “I think tomorrow, we’ll be contacting one another and probably put something together with Romney.”

“I’m going to go with Mitt Romney,” said John Catsimatidis, another donor who had been intrigued with Christie, in a brief phone interview this afternoon.

The GOP elites again are trying to pick the Republican candidate. It’s up to the grass roots to resist and defat the Rockefeller wing of the GOP.

The media was abuzz with Liberal Republican Tim Pawlenty endorsing fellow Liberal Mitt Romney. Rick Perry has pulled a trump card to counter this. Louisiana Governor, Bobby Jindal has endorsed Rick Perry.

Tampa, Florida (CNN) – Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is backing Rick Perry for president, a major endorsement for the Texas governor as the campaign for the Republican nomination enters the crucial fall stretch of the primary calendar, a source tells CNN.

Jindal is on his way to Florida and will be Perry’s guest at Monday night’s “Tea Party Republican Debate” broadcast on CNN from Tampa, the source said. Jindal is expected to formally make the announcement prior to the debate.

The battle between the Rockeferller WIng of the GOP and the Reagan Wing is under way.

The Democrat’s favorite new Republican: Karl Rove

Back during the Bush years Karl Rove was at the center of every conspiracy invented by the Left. Rove stole the 2000 election, he was behind 9/11, he invented the Iraq WMD threat and was behind Hurricane Katrina. He was the evil genius behind the Bush administration. Well times have changed!

Karl Rove, over the past few years, has taken shots at Tea Party Economic/Fiscal Conservatives. He’s been the voice of the GOP Establishment against the Conservative revival. Now he’s attacking Texas Gov. Rick Perry. Rove has been getting applause for these attack from the Left. They are calling Rove a voice of reason in the GOP. Talk about a change!

In the past few days, Karl Rove, President George W. Bush’s long-time consigliere and an erstwhile hate figure on the Left, has been welcomed back into polite society. Democrats who previously thought the only place Rove should be was in jail have been murmuring approvingly about his wisdom and moderation.

At the same time, Left-wingers whose only debate about Bush over the past decade has been whether he was stupid, evil or a lethal combination of both, are suddenly recalling the former president’s “compassionate conservatism”. The Huffington Post’s Howard Finemann noted that he was better read and more thoughful than previously given credit for and now seemed “like Pericles”.

The change of heart has been prompted by the appearance on the national scene of Governor Rick Perry. He was branded as “not presidential” by Rove, chiding him for his “very unfortunate comment” in suggesting that it would be “almost treasonous” for Ben Bernanke , chairman of the Federal Reserve, to print more money before the 2012 election. Perry had added that Bernanke might get treated “pretty ugly” if he visited Texas.

[…]

They first sought to marginalise Mr Perry, the longest-serving governor in Texas history and a man who has presided over the creation of a million jobs under his stewardship of the state, as a Bush clone.

Now Democrats now seem to have decided to portray him as crazier than that nice, centrist Mr Bush. The establishment media has eagerly followed suit. Speaking on PBS, the Washington Post’s Karen Tumulty declared that while Bush’s conservatism was “born very much of hope and affirmation” while Perry’s was “born very much of anger”.

Under the guise of ensuring Republicans don’t choose a candidate too extreme for the general election, Mr Rove has been an eager ally in this.

Karl Rove is becoming the latest Republican to be a useful tool for the Democrats. They always knew Rove was no Conservative. He politically used Conservatives by giving them red meat on social issues without addressing economic or fiscal concerns. Now that Conservatives are worried about economic issues and are threatening the Liberal Republicans’ 23 year grip on the party he’s in attack mode. This change is why Rove is now beloved by Democrats.

Karl Rove is going down the David Frum route. A Republican they can use against the Conservatives, who can be held up as a sign of moderation. The Left can keep Karl Rove.
