How and why Obama still could lose Illinois, from someone who lived there for years

And that someone is me. Now, is it probable? About maybe a 20% chance. But is it possible? Yes, I believe it is.

Outside of Cook county, which is where Chicago is located and where the voters are terminally stupid, I mean heavily dumocratic, and the northern suburbs of Chicago, which has a large population of Jewish voters who, because of their “stuck on stupid” mentality of always voting for dumocrats, even when the dumocrats are inept (and anti-Semetic and anti-Israeli), and also where a lot of first-generation immigrants live, there’s little chance of Obama losing there.

But don’t dismiss the dumocrat voters who are disillusioned with the Obama regime- The unemployed and the under-employed, especially among minority voters. They still do support him, especially the black voters, but the question is, will they turn out to actually vote for him in the numbers they did in 2008?

My educated guess would be no, for the simple reason that the “wow” factor that was there in 2008 is gone now that a lot of them realize that while Obama may look more like them, he hasn’t made their lives any better, and a lot would admit he’s made things worse, mainly by promising so much, and delivering so little, to the people who were most susceptible to buying into Obama’s “hope and change”.

Then there’s the other parts of the Chicago-land area, mainly the western and southern suburbs.

The western suburbs, where I used to live, tended to vote heavily Republican, with 2008 being the exception, but I think a lot of that was that like a lot of voters across the country, they were tired of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the terrible economy, and blamed the Republicans for those due to the fact they were in power when all this happened, and it seemed change was needed.

But if you look at which party runs most western suburbs today, it’s almost 100% GOP-controlled again, so those GOP voters seem to have returned “home” in 2010.

And the southern suburbs, which used to be all dumocrat, are starting to see shifts in their political winds, from dumocrat to Republican. They’re about 65% to 35% dumocrat. And the further south you move away from Chicago, the more Republican voters you’ll find.

So while I would never call Illinois a red state at this time, I could see a scenario where Obama loses it. If all the stars align correctly.

Rodan Addendum: Bob is right in his analysis. A new poll shows Mitt Romney leading in the Chicago suburbs.

In the city of Chicago itself, he retains a 60-29 lead over Romney. But the Republican challenger leads 45-38 in the surrounding areas. Across the county as a whole, Romney leads 43-31 among independent voters, a crucial voting bloc. Romney also holds a 44-38 lead among male voters, and a 53-40 lead among white voters.

If Obama has to defend Illinois, this means that Romney can put Florida and North Carolina away early in the cycle.

GOP elite preparing to backstab the Romney-Ryan ticket

The Republican convention hasn’t occurred yet, but the GOP elites are already preparing sabotage. Many Republican insiders are trashing Paul Ryan to the media. Rather than gear up for a epic fight, they are backstabbing the ticket and hoping to undermine it.

You’ve heard them on television and read them on POLITICO — cheerful, defiant statements from Republican political professionals about Mitt Romney’s bold masterstroke in tapping Paul Ryan as his running mate, and turning the 2012 presidential race into a serious, far-reaching debate about budgets and the nation’s future.

Don’t buy it.

Away from the cameras, and with all the usual assurances that people aren’t being quoted by name, there is an unmistakable consensus among Republican operatives in Washington: Romney has taken a risk with Ryan that has only a modest chance of going right — and a huge chance of going horribly wrong.

In more than three dozen interviews with Republican strategists and campaign operatives — old hands and rising next-generation conservatives alike — the most common reactions to Ryan ranged from gnawing apprehension to hair-on-fire anger that Romney has practically ceded the election.

What really angers the Republican elites is that Mitt Romney is not a Bush Error (88-08) style Progressive. They had backed him assuming they were getting another Leftists. By selecting Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney has sided with the Economic Conservative/Tea Party Wing of the Republican Party. These elites know very well that if Romney-Ryan win, it will be the end of  Progressive control over America. These Republicans are really Leftists at their core and just disagree with the Democrats on the pace of Socialism. They are now seeing the possibility that they will be shut out of power. Hungry for their power, the GOP elites will do everything they can to sink the Romney-Ryan ticket.

Finally, some sanity from Hollywood: Clint Eastwood backs Gov. Romney, says country “needs a boost”

“I know what you’re thinking libturds: “Did he fire six shots, or only five?” Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I’ve kinda lost track myself. But being that this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you’ve got to ask yourself one question: “Do I feel lucky?” Well do ya, punks?”

Screw those sissy lib Obama-worshipping girly “men” actresses like George Looney, Brad Pitt, and Leonardo Di Caprio. The last American actor who is/was a “real man”, Clint Eastwood, has made Mitt Romney’s day by endorsing the GOP nominee for President…

Clint Eastwood endorsing Romney’s presidential bid

SUN VALLEY, Idaho (AP) — Clint Eastwood just made Mitt Romney’s day.

The Oscar-winning director and longtime movie star says he’s endorsing the Republican presidential candidate.

Eastwood tells The Associated Press that he’s backing Romney because, in Eastwood’s words, “I think the country needs a boost.”

Eastwood is among the Romney supporters attending a fundraiser for the Republican candidate Friday night in Sun Valley, Idaho.

Eastwood won Academy Awards for directing and producing “Unforgiven” and “Million Dollar Baby” and starred in those films as well as the Dirty Harry movies.

Time for action!

Please read the whole post before you comment!

For the past two years on this blog, I have been complaining about the Leftist direction of the Republican Party. After the Tea Party led victory in 2010 the GOP caved to Obama in the lame duck session. The Republicans then make Progressive Republican and political eunuch, John Boehner, the new House Speaker. This was a bad start to what should have been a new start for the GOP. Then in the primaries, Conservatives like Jon Huntsman and Newt Gingrich where rejected in favor of Progressives like Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney. As we know, Romney won the nomination, thus confirming Leftist control of the GOP.

The GOP’s 20 year culture war has failed. Rather than co-opt the popular culture, Republicans have abandoned it to the Left. The result is that very few people under 30 are Republicans. In fact being a  Republican is not viewed as cool. Contrast that with the Reagan era when the image of  being a Republican meant you had money, had great vacations and got hot women. Now the image of a Republican is an old crank who hates young people and wants to impose a theocracy. I am not saying this is true but that is the image. The Right has itself to blame for abandoning the popular culture to the Progressives and engaging in a losing culture war.

On foreign policy I have nothing in common with the GOP. The Republican Party is addicted to nation building wars. They supported Obama’s illegal war in Libya on the behalf of Jihadists. Currently Republicans like John McCain, Lindsey Graham and Mitt Romney support the ethnic cleansing of Syrian Christians and want to install an Islamic government in Syria. The GOP elites have an obsessive hatred of Russia. They don’t just hate Putin, they hate the Russian people. If a war broke out between Russia and an Islamic nation, the GOP would back the Jihadists. I finds this repulsive eleven years after September 11th, 2001. Let make this clear, I am not an isolationist. I am a Jacksonian and anti-Jihadist. I feel the US should stand up to Islamic aggression but not nation build. We should only go to war for economic reason or stop Islamic aggression.

A couple of weeks ago I flirted with the idea of going to the Libertarians. After much thinking and research I realized this is a dead end. On the surface the Libertarians are more of a match for me than the current Trans-nationalist Progressive version of the Republican Party. But the reality is that it’s a party made up UFO conspiracy theorists and 9/11 “truthers”. There is one logical political home for me and that is with the Republican Party.

No, I don’t agree with current nature of the GOP but I am not alone. There are good Republicans like Rep. Ltc. Allen West, Sen. Pat Toomey, Bobby Jindal, Marco Rubio (on economic/fiscal issues not foreign policy), Susana Martinez, Sarah Palin, Paul Ryan, Andrew McCarthy, Rush Limbaugh and others who also don’t agree with this version of the Republican Party. Instead of abandoning them I will join them in the fight against the Tranzi Progressives of the GOP.

One mistake the Tea Party made was thinking that protesting and winning some elections in 2010 was enough. They didn’t realize the extent of the power of the Progressives Internationalists in the GOP. So while in 2010 they may have had a good year, in 2012 the GOP establishment got their guy Romney as the nominee. The reason the Tea Party failed was because they didn’t take over the Republican Party at the Precinct level!

Many people don’t realize that the GOP is actually made up of local committees at the county level. These local Republican leaderships are made up of Precinct Committeemen. It is these Precinct officials who elect the County and State GOP leadership. These officials are the ones who determine which candidates get on the ballot and who wins the Party’s nominations for local, state and federal offices. This is what the Tea Party needs to focus on now. It is time for Conservatives and Libertarians to begin to take over the Republican Party at the Precinct level. Here are a couple of links on this subject and some really interesting information.

What we need to do as soon as possible. Why we need to do it. Why it will work. If. We. Unite. NOW!

As Judson Phillips has advised, we (that means YOU and me — each one of us) have to DO two critical things simultaneously: become precinct committeemen in the Republican Party AND become poll watchers and poll workers to make sure the vote is not stolen.

We are weakest where we should be strongest, and most of us don’t know it. At the precinct level, from which all power withing the Republican Party comes, over half of the precinct committeeman slots are VACANT.

Precinct Project

Real political change begins at the local level and there is no section of political geography smaller or more local than the Precinct. By getting involved in the political process at that level you can begin to exert a growing influence on the world around you and do your part in promoting the ideals and principles that American’s have protected for generations.

The Precinct Project has been launched in an effort to help educate and motivate conservatives across the country to become more involved in the political process. Toward that end, we are working to gather and curate an ever-growing amount of information about how to become a Precinct Chairman or Committeeman, how to be effective in that role and how to maximize your impact within the party system.

It is our goal to serve as a nexus of information related to becoming a Precinct Committee member and excelling in that position. To that end, we will provide general and state specific information about the laws and practices of each state. The information in this site shouldn’t be taken as legal advice but as a primer to help educate voters and those interested in influencing their community. If you have information that you believe would be helpful to this sites’ visitors we would greatly appreciate you sharing it with us. We will work to keep the information on the site as fresh and accurate as possible.

The Neighborhood Precinct Committeeman Strategy to Take Back the Republican Party and then America at the Ballot Box

The Neighborhood Precinct Committeeman Strategy, outlined below, entails a tried-and-true, peaceful, Constitutional, ballot box solution to our present political predicament. The procedures and system for this solution have been in existence for decades. Obama used them. (You can get the Strategy as an ebookhere.)

Do Not Waste Your Time.

If you think you already have the solution for stopping the Democrats’ headlong rush to destroy our country, I don’t want to waste your time. Stop reading.

Stop wasting your time and do not read any further if you will not go to a Republican Party meeting or walk a precinct on behalf of a candidate. If the future of your country is worth a few hours a month outside your comfort zone, read on. (If you’d rather watch a video explaining the strategy, click on the video below — about 13 minutes total.)

(Hat Tip: Dan ‘ColdWarrior’ Schultz from Hot Air)

I am personally doing research on all the Republican clubs in my area.  This weekend I will buy more suits and start making calls and sending emails to these clubs. I will make my voice heard at these meetings and form alliances with like minded people. Will everyone agree with all of my ideas? Nope and I don’t expect anyone to. All I ask is that other Republicans listen to what I have to say. By starting at a local level I might be able to influence others and begin to change the culture and direction of my local Republican Party.

I ask others on the blog to follow the links and start doing research on their local Republican Party. If enough of us get involved, we may begin to make a change. Its time for action. Blogging is good, but we need to get out there and make a difference. That is what I intend to do.

This should be the logical conclusion of the Tea Party movement. The fundamental transformation of the Republican Party into an authentic Center-Right Party!
