His statements, and policy is based on many false assumptions, but none more influential than the repeatedly proven false belief that the Phakestinians are suffering from an unprecedented “occupation” by Israel, and that they actually want to live side-by-side with Israel in peace within their own Country.

Carl In Jerusalem, does a fantastic job explaining the folly of this assumption, and gives a bit of a history lesson on the Arab-Israel conflict from an angle that is often not discussed: When Egypt Occupied Gaza.

Below are excepts from Carl In Jerusalem.

Egypt occupied the Gaza Strip from 1948-67.  Had they chosen to do so, and if the real goal of the ‘Palestinians’ and the Arab countries had been to do so, Egypt could have granted Gaza independence as a ‘Palestinian’ state. (Jordan could have done the same with the ‘West Bank’).

But that was not Egypt’s goal and the Arab countries have no interest in the ‘Palestinians’ or a ‘Palestinian state.’ Here are a couple of examples of how the ‘refugees’ in Gaza were treated in the 1960’s, long before there was any ‘occupation.’

Egypt’s policy for the Strip was succinctly spelled out by the deputy governor, Muhammad Flafaga, in an interview appearing in the Danish newspaper Aktuelt on February 9, 1967:

  • Question: Why not send the refugees to other Arab countries? Syria would no doubt be able to absorb a vast number of them. Are you afraid that national bonds with Palestine will be loosened, that the hatred against Israel will vanish if they become ordinary citizens?
  • Answer: As a matter of fact, you are right. Syria could take all of them, and the problem would be solved. But we do not want that. They are to return to Palestine.

UNRWA reported in 1956: “One of the obstacles to the achievement of the General Assembly’s goal of making the refugees self-supporting continues to be the opposition of the governments in the area.”

Ralph Galloway, an UNRWA official who quit in frustration, observed bitterly: “The Arab states don’t want to solve the refugee problem. They want to keep it as an open sore, as a weapon against Israel. Arab leaders don’t give a damn whether the refugees live or die.”

No discussion about the Arab-Israel conflict would not be complete without mentioning the 1974 P.L.O. Phased Plan.

One of the major reasons why the Arab-Israel conflict has yet to be resolved is because we don’t allow ourselves to properly understand it, and instead naively cling to baseless assumptions regarding the Arab goals; namely destroying Israel.

The “Disengagement” from Gaza in 2005 is a recent blaring example of this.

This should be no surprise to anyone. The UN is now saying Iran has enough material fore an Nuclear bomb.

Iran holds enough uranium for bomb

Iran has built up a stockpile of enough enriched uranium for one nuclear bomb, United Nations officials acknowledged on Thursday.

In a development that comes as the Obama administration is drawing up its policy on negotiations with Tehran over its nuclear programme, UN officials said Iran had produced more nuclear material than previously thought.

Iran, the beloved nation of the Left continues to show its true intentions. But the media will find another excuse for this regime.

U.S. Bill To Require U.N. Accountability!

Yesterday, JTA reported that Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R) sponsored a Legislation promoting United Nations reform, which could require withholding U.S. contributions to the U.N relief agency assisting Palestinian refugees.  As of yesterday, it had 39 co-sponsors in the House of Representatives.

un-building-new-yorkUN reform bill garners 39 co-sponsors

The United Nations Transparency, Accountability and Reform Act, sponsored by House Foreign Affairs Committee ranking Republican member Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (Fla.), would require that the United States withhold U.S. contributions to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency unless certification could be provided that nobody associated with, or receiving money from, the agency is associated with terror.

UNRWA has said it doesn’t have the resources to check the background of everyone affiliated with the group, but it does run the names of some of its employees by Israeli intelligence services. A recent report released by the pro-Israel Washington Institute for Near East Policy found that very few of the agency’s 15,000 employees in the West Bank and Gaza Strip are affiliated with terror groups, but said that the agency has allowed itself to become politicized.

The legislation would also require an audit of five other U.N. entities devoted to the Palestinians as well as any other entity that “results in duplicative efforts or fails to ensure balance” in its approach to Israeli-Palestinian issues, and would require the United States to withhold from its regular contributions to the world body the amount of money expended on such duplicative agencies.

Among the other provisions of the bill is one which states that the U.S. must press the U.N. Secretary General to issue a directive requiring all U.N. employees and employees of U.N. agencies to officially and publicly condemn anti-Semitic statements made in U.N.-affiliated forums, and would require any of those employees to be subject to punitive actions for making any anti-Semitic statements or references.

Before you say “finally” or even type your post here, contact your Representatives repeatedly and get them to support this bill!  We should not let this opportunity slip through our fingers.

Don’t just sit there…DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

Contact your Congress person, (both parties) and tell them to sponsor and support this bill.

Then contact your State’s Senators, (both parties) and tell them to support this bill if it gets to the Senate, and/or to otherwise create their own!

Lastly, thank Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R).

UNWRA: The Lords Of Misery

UNRWA perpetuates “Palestinian-Arab” refugee status, and promotes Terrorism for its own benefit.  It should come as now surprise but this UN collusion with Terrorism is being paid for solely by The West.

Israel slams UN ‘provocation’ at Erez

From Jpost

UNRWA LogoThe office of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories slammed UNRWA on Monday and accused the United Nations organization of creating a provocation at the Kerem Shalom crossing by bringing trucks to it carrying supplies that had not been approved by Israel for entry into the Gaza Strip.

On Monday, the Kerem Shalom crossing was opened for the delivery of humanitarian supplies to Gaza, including some 50 trucks with supplies provided by UNRWA. The night before, UNRWA had asked the Gaza Coordination and Liaison Administration to permit the transfer of paper and plastic bags to Gaza, and had been told the request was under consideration.

Despite not having received approval, UNRWA, COGAT officials said, drove several trucks carrying the supplies from Jerusalem to the crossing and coordinated their arrival with several media outlets, which filmed the trucks being turned away.

COGAT Spokesman Maj. Peter Lerner called the incident a “regretful provocation” by the UNRWA spokesman’s office and added that while Israel may eventually approve the transfer of office supplies to Gaza, it was currently focusing on humanitarian aid.

“UNRWA receives preferential treatment at the crossings, and today alone 50 of its trucks were allowed in,” Lerner said.
