Enough with the “Rape Culture” bullshit

This is an excellent takedown of the radical “feminist” propaganda that is so prevalent in America today, especially college campuses:

It was probably about 20 years ago that I first heard the repulsive charge that America has a “rape culture.” It has now metastasized into the mainstream, but was a new theme back then. I was hired to entertain at a luncheon for women and girls and the group before me was making a presentation on the subject. Mercifully, I missed most of it, but what I did hear enraged me so badly it took all the strength I had to try to be funny following it.

My first thought was, “You are slandering my beautiful husband, my wonderful brother, my kind and gentle son, my countless decent, responsible male friends. In short, virtually every man I know, not one of whom is a rapist.” Not to mention my beloved country.

And, you are full of crap. Dangerously wrong-headed crap. The 50-year assault on all things male, the neutering of America has not been without dire consequences.

So, let’s review, ladies of the Perpetually Furious Grievance Crowd:

Do you have all your lady bits intact, particularly the one that triggers sexual pleasure? Then thank God you live in America and kindly shut up. Just for a minute, because you are, in addition to being wrong, terminally boring.

Are you able to leave your home without a male chaperone? Then thank God you live in America and refrain from making scurrilous charges.

Are you able to drive a car? Then thank God you live in America and paint, please, with a slightly less broad brush.

Are you covered in black from head to toe so that the sun never shines on your face?
No? Then thank God you live in America and help publicize the actual War on Women.

If you ARE covered in black from head to toe so that the sun never shines on your face, are you able to practice your religion in peace in this freedom-loving country? Good for you. Maybe you could do something about extending freedom of religion to people living in the countries you came from instead of hoping to restrict our freedom. Just sayin’.

Have you been able to go to school from kindergarten on, and even gone on to college and medical school and law school without having to worry about being kidnapped or having acid thrown in your faces? Then…well, you know the drill.

American men are, in the main, hard-working, chivalrous, brave, protective, and reliable. And have also mastered deodorant, unlike the men of some continents I could mention. They also have strong egalitarian instincts and will respect women who do not whine and who can do their jobs without asking for special privileges.

This hits it exactly on the head. American culture does not and never has condoned rape. Rapists are not held up as simply doing what men do (except for people like Roman Polanski on the Left; Akin and Murdoch said their pieces on rape, and lost their elections that had seemed in the bag. Whoopi Goldberg defends Roman Polanski and says his wasn’t a “rape rape”, and she is still wildly accepted by the Left), but instead are condemned by society and imprisoned (though, in fairness, I have to say that I think rapists deserve the death penalty). Contrast that with the Islamic culture around the world, where a rape victim can face execution herself for “adultery” even as the rapist is set free. You hear only a deafening silence from the Left about the many atrocities of the Islamic world. There is a “War on Women”, but it is not led (or even tangentially supported) by the Republican Party. It is in Islamic nations that it is being fought aggressively. It is also visible in the mostly Third World practice of sex-selective abortions. 200 million baby girls have been ripped from their mother’s womb and executed for the crime of being female, and the so-called “feminist” Left can’t find it in their hearts to even issue a strongly worded letter about it. But hey, Mitt Romney has binders full of women! Because sexism.

The Hillary Rosen comment has shifted the war on women narative

Thanks to Rick Santorum taking the Left’s bait and crusading against birth control, the GOP was tagged as having a war on women. Polls show this was hurting Republican chances in the fall, but now the tide has turned. Hillary Rosen’s comments attacking Ann Romney for choosing to raise her kids instead of working showed the Left’s true anti-family agenda. These comments struck a cord with people and has created a backlash. With the exception of Charles Johnson, most Progressives including Hillary Rosen herself have distanced themselves from these comments. But the damage has been done and the war on women narrative has changed.

Democrats played defense Thursday, after an unforced error by veteran Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen criticizing stay-at-home mom Ann Romney allowed Republicans to turn the tables at a time when their likely standard-bearer is scrambling to close a massive gender gap.

Rosen eventually apologized, but not before Romney was handed a a life preserver, if only a temporary one, on an issue related to women — a set of concerns that caused him to tack right in the hard-fought Republican primary.

[….]
At a minimum, Romney’s campaign was able to change the narrative for 24 hours and try to erode some of the large deficit it is facing against President Barack Obama with women voters. White House press secretary Jay Carney was peppered with questions about the flap at a news briefing. And it knocked Team Obama off message on the sixth anniversary of the signing of Romney’s Massachusetts health-care law, a date it had hoped to highlight to great effect.
It also prompted conservatives to rally behind an all-but-assured GOP nominee about whom they continue to have misgivings

I hope Republicans don’t botch this like they did the war on religion.
