U. of Illinois Professor: Shouting “USA, USA” at a football game is “politicization, militarism, propaganda and bellicosity”

Read what this esteemed Professor, I mean “Academic Professional”, I mean libturd douchebag, one David Green, who pollutes the minds of students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on a daily basis with his liberal/socialist crap, had to say about students shouting “USA, USA, USA” after a flyover by U.S. Air Force jets after a moment of silence before a football game played on the ninth anniversary of 9-11.

And these scumbag libs wonder why most normal Americans detest them?

This letter to the editor was published in the Daily Illini, the school’s paper-

Block-I chant portrays ‘neither patriotism nor remembrance’

The vast majority of 9/11 observances in this country cannot be seen as politically neutral events. Implicit in their nature are the notions that lives lost at the World Trade Center are more valuable than lives lost in Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine and elsewhere; that the motives of the 9/11 attackers had nothing to do with genuine grievances in the Islamic world regarding American imperialism; and that the U.S. has been justified in the subsequent killing of hundreds of thousands in so-called retaliation.

The observance at Saturday’s football game was no different. A moment of silence was followed by a military airplane flyover; in between, Block-I students chanted “USA, USA.” This was neither patriotism nor remembrance in any justifiable sense, but politicization, militarism, propaganda and bellicosity. The University is a public institution that encompasses the political views of all, not just the most (falsely) “patriotic.” Athletic planners should cease such exploitation for political purposes. They might at least consider how most Muslim students, American or otherwise, would respond to this nativist display; or better, Muslims and others that live their lives under the threat of our planes, drones and soldiers.

The overwhelmingly white, privileged, Block-I students should be ashamed of their obnoxious, fake-macho, chicken-hawk chant, while poverty-drafted members of their cohort fight and die in illegal and immoral wars for the control of oil. University administrators need to eliminate from all events such “patriotic” observances, which in this country cannot be separated from implicit justifications for state-sponsored killing.

David Green,

University Academic Professional

Fortunately, most of the students (must have been the college Republicans) who read what the MF’ing POS had to say disagreed, and strongly! Here’s a few of the comments-

Why are “Academics” so ignorant and smug? As per the norm, a tolerant and open-minded academic slams those with a viewpoint with which he disagrees and load his rant with the usual associations of racism that’s so popular with the intellectually-bankrupt.

David Green is an example of what is wrong with America and the world of academia in particular. Most David Greens of the world surround themselves in a bubble of bobbleheads, an ideological echo-chamber, and over time their myopic view of the world causes them to sound more and more ridiculous. This is so commonplace in academia and that’s sad because people like Green pollute the minds of their students by encouraging them to become as closed-minded as he. Academia at large needs to change its hiring practices and demand their academics have real world experience which should assist those academics in being exposed to other points of view.

My advice for Mr. Green: break out of your echo chamber! Read a book that challenges your point of view! Watch a TV news program that doesn’t tow the DNC’s party line. Do SOMETHING that causes you to look broader than your blinders

This is the product of our College system. Just another sad little liberal who can’t understand why someone would actually love the USA.

In his mind, it’s a crime to be white, to have parents who actually worked for a living and made something of themselves, and who aren’t afraid to be men. That’s a sad little existence. What must it be like to wake up every morning, hating yourself?

I pity you, David. You’re a pathetic little fellow. Probably a communist as well, who’s sitting in your ivory tower pretending that your academic credentials actually make you right. They don’t. They make you someone who’s been able to stay in school long enough to regurgitate whatever you’ve been fed. And it looks like you’ve been fed nonsense, from your putrid vomitous writings.

My advice is that you go out and actually live in the world for a while. You really need to understand the difference between theory and fact, because at this time, you’re a clueless little communist who hates the place that gave you your chances.

Wow. So much wrong with you.

You libs seem to be more obsessed with oil than Halliburton is. If we fought for control of the oil, then where is it? Oh yeah! It’s going to Russia and China, since the Iraqi government just signed contracts with them.

As for taking lives… I truly wish I could put you into a time machine and send you back to any war that any nation has ever fought, just so you could see how truly bloody they have been all throughout human history, for soldiers and civilians alike. I would especially like to send you to watch the muslim wars of conquest. Those have been especially brutal. The fact is that more innocent civilians are killed by drunk drivers on our own roads than are killed by our military operations. If you insist on wasting your time on a Cause, why not drop this one and take up drunk driving? You’d do more good for more people.

As one of those “poverty-drafted” soldiers (who, incidentally, left a $60,000/yr job to enlist at the age of 34) who is currently in Afghanistan and have seen what goes on over here, I remind you that it is better to keep your mouth shut and appear to be a fool than to open it and remove any doubt.
