Mayday Greetings, 2019

I will dispense with the Soviet National Anthem this year as the ‘Revolution’ is already upon us. The Democrat Party has gone full blown socialist. Remember your Marx and Engels, capitalism->socialism->communism. They say that the revolution cannot occur unless there is capitalism first to build into socialism and then communism.

The end goal is the dictatorship of the proletariat. Hayek reminds us that this dictatorship will inevitably end in the removal and destruction of personal freedom as does an autocracy. What occurs is that the complete monopolization of power then resides in a bureaucratic elite, a ‘Nomenklatura’, whose right to rule over all can never be questioned as they are the vanguard of the revolution. There can be no opposition to the elite.

Right now, a former barmaid thinks that she is the vanguard of the revolution. This is laughable on its face. She is but a tool of what has always been there. Her job is to trot out the ridiculous and make them topics for discussion; this is a softening up, to use military parlance. She is a clown placed there to take the initial flak for these outrageous ideas. The vanguard of the revolution, according to Lenin, are professional revolutionaries who are completely committed to communism as the end goal.

Dictatorship does not necessarily mean the abolition of democracy for the class that exercises the dictatorship over other classes; but it does mean the abolition of democracy (or very material restriction, which is also a form of abolition) for the class over which, or against which, the dictatorship is exercised.
— V. I. Lenin

OH, ok, why not

I couldn’t help myself.

More Propaganda, NAFTA Style

The headline reads:

Trump’s New Nafta Faces Mounting Resistance in Democratic House

OK, sure. They hate the man with such a white hot burning anger that they wouldn’t dare give him a win, OK fine.

BUT…the article states this to back up the headline:

Democrats said they want to make it easier to enforce new rules designed to strengthen labor rights in Mexico, saying a lack of worker protections there is hurting wages and job prospects for U.S. workers. Trump administration officials said these concerns can be handled in follow-up legislation that would implement the U.S.-Mexico-Canada-Agreement, or USMCA.

UMMMMM….M’kay….This is the big, deal-busting sabot in the gears? Seriously? Trump has railed against the lack of regs and worker protection in Mexico (and China) since day one. Why would he not sign this?

The headline does not match the article, nor does it match reality.

Harley and Economic Propaganda

The recent news has Harley-Davidson complaining about tariffs and the difficulties it causes for their profit. This is pure economic propaganda espoused by the company and the never-Trumpers.

Harley is losing market share and has declining profit because THEY REFUSE TO LOOK AT THE MARKET. It’s simple, does Cadillac still make the awesomely huge pimp-mobile El Dorado? Is Ford moving away from sedans? See how this goes? Look at your market and adjust to what sells. Harley makes an obnoxiously loud, heavy, expensive motorcycle that less and less people want. The Boomers are the last generation who will buy that bike at those numbers. I rode motorcycles for years and refused to own a Harley. Too heavy, too cumbersome, too expensive for what you get, and the owners tend toward being obnoxious look-at-me weekend warrior assholes who had to have loud pipes to draw attention to themselves and their shiny rattle. I would regularly put on 10k miles a year. That’s a lot for a motorcycle. The Harley riders rarely wave at anyone else other than other Harley riders. All other non-Harley motorcyclists wave to each other tho, as is custom. This myopic attitude is reflected in the management at Harley as well.

SO, does Harley adjust? Will they make a motorcycle to compete with the Japanese, English, and Germans? No, they won’t. They will take the arrogant way out and end up in bankruptcy because they can’t see that making an El Dorado will not sell in a market of fast and stylish CUV’s. I don’t think Harley is capable of seeing the market, partly because of an incredibly overblown ego and partly because, well…obnoxiousness, arrogance, and ignorance.

Don’t blame Trump, you chuckleheads…look in the mirror and look at your market.
