It’s an Open Thread!

We are $1200 for $1000 and a bunch of bets were made last week. 3/5, so back to $1300 FOR $1000.

Let’s see what’s in store for week 7 besides the Ireland V New Zealand match that we will get to later.

None of the games are piquing my interest. So, no bets this week.

Waitaminute…

8 Oregon @ 7 Washington 3:30 PM. Won’t matter. Georgia will beat either of these pretenders by 21. but, what the hell, the always overrated Ducks are 3 point dogs to the dogs (Huskies), heh. Anyway, Bo Nix is the Ducks QB, and he is very, very good. Ducks beat the spread (I always lose when I go this way).

Florida @ South Carolina 3:30 PM. The Gators are only 2 point favorites? I’ll take them to cover. That spread just looks weird.

10 USC @ 21 Notre Dame 7:30 PM. ND is at home in a classic rivalry game and the Irish are 2 point favorites. They won’t cover. ‘SC has a hell of a QB who will be playing on Sunday.

RWC 2023

Saturday at 1500 eastern, two of the best teams in the world are going to square off in the knock-out round of the Rugby World Cup. It’s Ireland v New Zealand. If yinz have access to Peacock online do watch it. this should be one for the ages. Let’s add this to the ledger: Ireland is 2 point faves to win, I’m going for NZ to beat the spread. I have my reasons, even though ireland are the faves to win it all.

There are other matches, but none that promise to be this great, this week…except on Sunday:

France (at home) v South Africa (1500 eastern). SA is the most physical team out there and they are playing against a great France team on French soil. again, on peacock, do watch if you have a chance. This one will get very chippy unless the ref clamps down early. SA are 2 point dogs in vegas. They should be able to get under the French skin and cause a lot of penalties anad beat that spread, France loses the story pretty fast after they have been belted in the mouth a few times and then get dirty and play stupidly.

I’m trying this on a chromebook, frankly, this would be impossible without a mouse. the puti suggested that i get a gamer mouse that works on all platforms. good on her. the funky LED gamer mouse works so here we go: (no spell check)

The Rugby World Cup is going mostly as planned. The fun starts next weekends as the also-rans are elimated this weekend.

So, i lost last weekend and am at $1200/1000, i quit the week before at $1300/1000.. However, it’s not real money.

ahhh…i have to save before leaving the page

12 Oklahoma @ 3 Texas 12:00 PM. the longhorns are 5 point faves at home anbd beat the spread

I’m done betting the Vols and LSU. sorry. been let down over and over and over and over..

11 Alabama @ Texas A&M 3:30 PM.the chromebbok is acting all messed up. anyway, ‘bama is only a 2 point fave over the aggies, yinz know what? i never bet against saban. but i will today! AGGIES at home!

Colorado @ Arizona State 6:30 PM. coach prime and his team have been put back to earth. good. now is time for real building. they are 3 point faves and beat the spread.

20 Kentucky @ 1 Georgia 7:00 PM. KY is the new oregon state. yeah whatever. they are 13 point dogs v the best team in the country, they don’t cover and fall back to mean.

F1 is in Qatar and it is dusty as, well, the desert. Oddly. do watch the race as the best in the world try to figure out what to do in the sand.

It’s an open…yinz know that.

Ryder Cup. All that is glorious and victorious about American golf is versus the stuffy Euro-weenies just outside of Rome. This isn’t your standard pro outing, there are no golf claps or decorum. it is golf at its most primal. the fans don’t shut up, the players talk shit, no holds are barred. Euro is up 6.5-1.5 after Friday’s 4 ball. It’s gonna get real fun for today’s foursomes and sunday’s all important singles play with 12 points on offer. first team to 14.5 wins. i watch the US open and The Masters at Augusta. I cheer at the Ryder Cup. Do watch on Sunday morning even if yinz aren’t golf fans. It’s great stuff.

woot. we were 4/4 last week so it’s $1300/1000. we made 30% ROI in 5 weeks. I would quit here if this were real money, it aint. zo:

#8 USC @ Colorado 12:00 PM. It’s the second game against top 10 for Coach Prime and his Buffs. They got slaughtered last week and brought down to earth. Don’t count out these guys in the long run tho. Today they are 21 point dogs at home against the storied Trojans of USC. I’m not touching this game..

22 Florida @ Kentucky 12:00 PM. Ummmm… the wildcats are 1 point faves at home versus ranked gators. K has beat FL the last 3 times. But, jeeze, i dunno. The gator run offense is physical, brutal in fact. I take the gators to cover on the road.

frankly, none of the other games are worth watching.

Rugby Wold Cup 2023

Nz destroyed the Italians on Friday night. no surprise there.

the upcoming matches are not worth watching this weekend. they are on Peacock if yinzs want to familiarize yinz self’s with the sport. All hell breaks loose in a week or two.

ITS AN OPEN THREAD

I was even for week 3, so one down, $900/1000 thus far. My Alma Mater and The Vols broke my heart last week. Here we go:

4 Florida State @ Clemson 12:00 PM. Clemson is not rated, but they are at home in Death Valley, one of the loudest venues in all of sport. It’s on my bucket list to see. The Noles aren’t getting much respect tho, they are only 2 point favorites. I think they can cover.

15 Ole Miss @ 13 Alabama 3:30 PM. That’s right, ‘Bama has a loss and isn’t in the top 10. The press is questioning Nick Saban…yeah…don’t. ‘Bama is a 6 point favorite and covers. Don’t back Saban into a corner, ever.

19 Colorado @ 10 Oregon 3:30 PM. Coach Prime Time takes his flying circus west to the perpetually over-rated Oregon Ducks. This is it, Coach Prime, welcome to the big time! This ain’t Jackson State any more. No one is giving the Buffs a chance, they are 21 point dogs on the road. Colorado has no defense but has an incredible offense. The Ducks have QB Bo Nix. 21 points? Hell, if Colorado covers its a moral victory. If they win? Well, miracles can happen. 21 points…Jeeze…I want them to cover. But. Bet with your mind, not your heart. The Buffs don’t cover. Betting against Coach Prime just seems wrong.

6 Ohio State @ 9 Notre Dame 7:30 PM. The Buckeyes travel to play in front of Touchdown Jesus. ND hasn’t won a championship since they built stands in front of Jesus’s lower half. Coincidence? Nope. OSU will choke later in the season but not today and they cover the 3 point spread. Tear down those stands and you’ll win again, ND.

Rugby World Cup

Last week had no surprises EXCEPT, Fiji beat Australia….oh my! And the Italians are 2-0! South Africa plays #1 rated Ireland at 1500 EST Saturday. Ireland has looked flat and South Africa are always tough. The rest of the matches should be as expected for the top 5. All of the action is on Peacock Network.

SUNDAY! it’s the Caribbean Professional League final on the Willow app. As of now, I have no idea who is in. They are doing the playoffs now.

F1 is in Japan and it’s on at 0100 Sunday AM. I’ll be getting home from work at midnight, we pre-ordered a ton of Sushi to be picked up by Mrs Coldwarrior at 2300 Saturday night, saki and Sapporo’s are also on order.

Have a great weekend!
