AMERICAN VERSION

AUSTRALIAN CALIFORNIA VERSION

In this particular example, Aussies’ cans are definitely bigger than ours, and have 40% more beef. You gotta open ’em from the bottom, though, since gravity points up from the Land Down Under. Otherwise you’ll be cleaning your ceiling and missing out on an Overnight Open Thread.

*[Update: Apparently the Skippy Premium Chunks In Gravy are not from down under at all and are a product of Del Monte Foods in California. It’s dog food. I’d found the image on Aussie Phil’s website in June of 2008 and assumed it was a product of the Land of Oz. Lo siento poco. –Bunk]

Long Beach to Sydney Roadtrip, or Desert Bus?

Who’s with me? Meet back here in an hour with gas money.

Check out the route. Don’t miss No. 16 in the directions.  We’re headed for the wide open thread tonight.

Now, for some of you who can’t get time off of work without worrying if work will be there when you return, here’s an alternate roadtrip: DESERT BUS.

Here’s the lowdown. DESERT BUS is a simulation video game of pure endurance. The goal is to drive the bus from Tucson AZ to Las Vegas NV at a maximum speed of 45mph through the featureless desert, and back again.

The cruelest aspect of the game is that the bus’ steering is slightly out of alignment and it drifts to the right so you have to steer for the entire ordeal. If you run off the road, you go back to start.

But that’s not the worst. You can’t pause the game for anything.

Here’s the part that’s pure evil.  If you make it to Las Vegas, get this: YOU EARN 1 POINT, and then you then have the option of turning around and doing it again.

Highlights of the trip: a bug hits the windshield, and the sun goes down.

There have been DESERT BUS competitions for charity, too.  Don’t believe me? Lookee here.

Here’s a more recent video of Penn describing the purpose of the competitions with contact info.

So what’ s your choice? Roadtrip to Sydney, Desert Bus, or Beer Run?

Australia prepares for U.S. decline.

Australia is doing the right thing here. With the Neo-Stalinist Progressive movement having a choke hold on America, our allies need to rely on themselves.

A Pacific Warning

Since World War II, U.S. military dominance has underpinned the Asia-Pacific region’s prosperity and relative peace. So it’s cause for concern when one of America’s closest allies sees that power ebbing amid unstable nuclear regimes such as Pakistan and North Korea and the expanding military power of China.

In the preface to a sweeping defense review released Saturday, Australian Defense Minister Joel Fitzgibbon writes: “The biggest changes to our outlook . . . have been the rise of China, the emergence of India and the beginning of the end of the so-called unipolar moment; the almost two-decade-long period in which the pre-eminence of our principal ally, the United States, was without question.”

Any ally of America must do the same.  This country has had 3 weak leaders in a row, Bush I, Clinton and Bush II. Now we have the Neo-Stalinist Obama aka Maobama as President. He is also a weak ruler and he wants the US to be friends with our enemies. The writing is one the wall and until the Progressive Movement is defeated and driven from power, all US allies must look out for themselves.

The whole world needs a leader like this!

sharia

Australian PM, Kevin Rudd, makes his case perfectly clear. It’s simple. If you leave your home country because it is crap, don’t try to bring the crap to your new host country.

Lankaweb: Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.

Separately, Kevin angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation’s mosques.

Quote: ‘IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians. ‘

‘This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom’ ‘We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!’ ‘Most Australians believe in God.

This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools.

If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.’ ‘We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us. ‘

‘This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, ‘THE RIGHT TO LEAVE’.’ ‘If you aren’t happy here then LEAVE.

We didn’t force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.’ Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves, WE will find the courage to start speaking and voicing the same truths.

Update from Bible Believer in Sweden:

Too good to be true

The first part of the message suggests that Prime Minister Howard (Rudd in later versions) told Muslims who wished to live under Islamic Sharia law that they should get out of Australia. This is partly true in the sense that a high profile Australian political leader did make comments suggesting that Islamic extremists who desired to turn Australia into an Islamic state should leave and that Howard condoned such strongly worded rhetoric. However, it was in fact then Federal Treasurer Peter Costello who actually uttered the comments.
