Obama the Hipster President

When I lasted visited NY back in 2012, I met with Speranza and Urban Infidel in Hipster Central: Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The observation I made and one they both concurred with was that Obama is a creation of the Hipster world, not Black America. With the exception of his skin tone (outside the US he would not be considered Black), Obama has nothing in common with most Black Americans. His world, is that of the Hipsters and when he first declared his run for the Presidency in 2007, it was the Hipsters, not Blacks who fueled Obama’s rise.

President Obama has always been skilled at sending out very precise, targeted signals, whether it’s to mainstream swing voters or to his liberal base. But the group Obama works hardest at signaling to is the young, Millennial hipsters who were so vital to his 2008 victory over Hillary Clinton.

As a substantive matter, Obama’s presidency has been terrible for these people. High unemployment numbers for recent graduates. No bending of the curve on college tuition prices. An entitlement system that gets less solvent by the day. And a new healthcare regime that’s an explicit transfer of wealth from younger, healthier workers to older folks and the unemployed.

Yet Obama has made sure to signal that, despite everything, he’s really on their side. We see these signals in the big show he makes each year of filling out his NCAA bracket. (It’s not like there’s a war on or anything.) We see it in his choice of bffs. And above all, we see it in his TV habits, where Obama goes out of his way to let it be known that he’s a huge fan of HBO and Millennial darling shows such as Game of Thrones and True Detective.

Barack Obama is the first Hipster President and is a very powerful symbol to these people. He is considered one of their own and it is this demographic, not Blacks who have the most emotional attachment to this man.

Too many on the Right especially the Conservative element underestimate the Hipsters.

Lucali Pizzeria Owner stabbed

Lucali Pizza, located in Brooklyn is one of the best Pizzerias in the nation. The owner Mark Iacono opened it because he didn’t want another chain restaurant in the Carroll Gardens section of Brooklyn. White eating outside a deli, he was stabbed by a  thug who had a previous criminal record.

A famed Brooklyn pizza-twirler was sliced by a knife-wielding bagel-maker and left in a pool of blood thicker than his red sauce along a hip stretch of Carroll Gardens today.

Mark Iacono, owner of the famed Lucali pizzeria, had just eaten a prosciutto rice ball outside Joe’s Perette Delicatessen on Smith Street when he got a dispute with ex-con Benny Geritano.

Seemingly out of nowhere Geritano, a hood who beat two attempted murder charges in the 1990s and is currently on probation, pulled out a long kitchen knife and lunged, sources said.

[….]

The restaurant, which can keep patrons waiting for three hours for a table, has been hailed as the best pizza in the city by Zagat’s and was named the No. 2 best in the country by GQ in 2009.

Entrepreneurs like Mark Iacono represent the best of this nation. They are the heart of the economy and are the ones who help build this nation. Criminal thugs like Geritano represent the worst of this nation. I wish Mr. Iacono a speedy recovery.

Protest Outside the ‘House of the Lord’ Church in Brooklyn

Last night I attended a protest outside where certain Gaza ‘flotilla’ (aka terror armada) passengers were speaking in Brooklyn, at the House of the Lord Church in Brooklyn. It should be noted that this ‘church’ actually believes in liberation theology, and claims that Jesus was an African, rather than Jewish.

Anyway, back to this protest. Here are pictures of the event. This is my favorite picture of the protest.

Protest

About 40 people of mixed background came to the protest in Brooklyn, on Atlantic Avenue. It should be noted that the Blind Sheikh was based out of the Masjid al-Farooq Mosque, at 554 Atlantic Avenue. This ‘church’ was at 415 Atlantic Avenue. So this protest occurred deep in the heart of Radical Islam.

In any case, the pro-jihadis had this clown singing ‘peace’ songs. It was quasi-comical. Of course, I also was handed the newspaper of the Communist Worker’s Party. Red/Green Alliance strikes again.

Clown

Some of the protesters (i.e., the good guys) started singing “We Con the World” while wearing clown wigs, which is the song popularized by the group Latma. It was quite appropos.

Some observations of the event:

  • A person running for City Council happened to be half a block from the ‘flotilla’ event. I asked him if he was pro-Israel, and he said yes. I then asked him if he backed Israel specifically in the ‘flotilla’ bruhaha, and he said “Well, it is complicated.” And then he went into a long story. I replied that it is not complicated at all and it is about Israel’s right to self defense. I then informed this would-be City Councilman (a Dem, of course), that I will not support him.
  • There was someone from Brazilian TV there, and I told him on camera that what I am most troubled by is language desecration, and I fear for the future over the misuse and defamation of the word “peace.” I told the same to a Columbia School of Journalism reporter.
  • More evidence of the red/green alliance – al-Awda NY sponsored this event, and you had communists handing out the Communist Worker’s Party newspaper. Al-Awda is linked to extremely unsavory jihad groups, as documented here.
  • I saw Turkish flags at this event. Never before have Turkish flags flown at such pro-jihad events. This is an extremely troubling trend.
  • At the event, the so-called ‘peace activists’ were screaming that Zionism is racism.

Overall, it is my considered opinion that peace is not possible while we buy into these false narratives, and claim that those who wish for the destruction of another are ‘peaceful.’ We must fight the war on the English language that the press has bought into, hook, line, and sinker.

And on a final note, I want to say that the pro-jihadis were really…pathetic. I mean, a tired, sad-looking man, singing a hippy-dippy ‘peace’ song, while wearing a jihad scarf? Come on! The only tragedy of this all is that we take these people seriously, and actually treat them like they have a substantial opinion, rather than the farces that they are.

Once we cut off the teat of the Western largesse to our jihadi adversaries, and stop treating the jihadis and their sympathizers as people worth listening to, real peace is possible.
