Indonesia: Halal Sex

(h/t: Winds of Jihad)

Uploaded by france24english on Jul 25, 2011
INDONESIA : Hallal sex. Saudi men travel to Indonesia for sex tourism. And so they don’t break any religious laws: they marry the prostitute for a day or two…

From Newstime (NZ):

France 24 TV goes undercover in Indonesia to explore a bizarre trend in the country’s sex tourism industry. A growing number of Saudi Arabian men are temporarily marrying according to Quran Chapter 4 Verse 24 “… agree Mutually (to vary it), …” (Mu’ta marriage 4:24, temporary) Indonesian prostitutes to have sex with so that they don’t technically engage in non-marital sex. Therefore, in their opinion, their sexual relations with a prostitute are religiously lawful.”

According to Wikipedia…

Nikāḥ al-Mutʿah (Arabic: نكاح المتعة‎ “marriage for pleasure”), is an extremely controversial fixed-term marriage system in Shi’a Islam, rejected in Sunni Islam. The duration of this type of marriage is fixed at its inception and is then automatically dissolved upon completion of its term. The marriage is contractual and is subject to renewal. Financial payments may be made between the couple, usually with the male paying the female mahr or dower.

It’s All About the Rupiah and the Rial:

Despite the fact that both Saudi Arabia and Indonesia are both Sunni Muslim countries, when there is money to be made from sex tourism, the supposedly Shi’ite-only practice of Mut’ah is considered halal nonetheless. Go figure.

Mut’ah is a ‘rial’ moneymaker for the imams in Shi’ite Iran:

Winds of Jihad: ‘Muta’, Temporary marriage or legalized prostitution

Holy Shiite! Pious pilgrimage just got more exciting at Imam Reza’s shrine in Iran, where for a reasonable fee (see price list below) a mullah can join any eager pilgrim in holy matrimony of “temporary marriage” with his choice of a lovely, fully hijabed, and properly veiled prostitute for a period between 5 hours to 10 days. Pedophiles welcome: girls as young as 12 years of age are standing by. Not to worry, the mullahs got them covered: all “temps” under 14 must show a written consent from their fathers or male guardians (no doubt on advice from the recently fired, now freelancing ACORN specialists).

We are not making this up…

Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, The Supreme Leader of Iran, the Shia Grand Ayatollah, 1979-89 said in his official statements:

“A man can quench his sexual lusts with a child as young as a baby. However, he should not penetrate. Sodomizing the baby is halal (allowed by sharia). If the man penetrates and damages the child, then he should be responsible for her subsistence all her life. This girl, however, does not count as one of his four permanent wives. The man will not be eligible to marry the girl’s sister. It is better for a girl to marry when her menstruation starts, and at her husband’s house rather than her father’s home. Any father marrying his daughter so young will have a permanent place in heaven.”

Speechless…

Fatheaded Fatwas

Now they’re coming for the…smileys?

From World’s Craziest Fatwas

Pile of smileys
The Evil Emoticons

The Fatwa: Multaqa Ahl al Hadeeth: Emoticon fatwa

I can almost get behind this one. Sure, they’re annoying, but evil? Really? Well, to a Muslim forum looking to make a name for itself—yes.

According to Muslim Internet Forum Multaqa Ahl al Hadeeth, “Emoticons are forbidden because of its imitation to Allah’s creatures whether it is original or mixture or even deformed one and since the picture is the face and the face is what makes the real picture then emoticons which represent faces that express emotions then all that add up to make them Haram.” Um…so should I hide away all of my child hood drawings while I’m at it? I sucked at art.

Additionally, “A woman should not use these images when speaking to a man who is not her mahram, because these faces are used to express how she is feeling, so it is as if she is smiling, laughing, acting shy and so on, and a woman should not do that with a non-mahram man. It is only permissible for a woman to speak to men in cases of necessity, so long as that is in a public chat room and not in private……Define ‘necessity’….hormones count? or a really big smiley face…

3D smiley with tongue out

Verdict: How do they find the time to think about this crap? 🙂 XOXOX 😉 XOXOX 😛 XOXOX 😀

Many more here.

I don’t know whether this involved a formal fatwa, but still…

Pakistan: Taliban make bonfire of un-Islamic cloth in Wana

(h/t: Blazing Cat Fur)

July 26, 2011

PESHAWAR, Pakistan: A Taliban group in Pakistan on Tuesday burned a huge quantity of cloth taken from shopkeepers, saying it was too thin to be made into suitably modest garments, officials said.

The Islamist extremists stormed shops in Wana, the main town of the lawless South Waziristan tribal region, which borders Afghanistan, and made a bonfire of the cloth in a public area near the bazaar.

Shopkeeper Rahimullah Khan told AFP that at least eight armed men burst into his premises and took away bundles of raw cloth that they said was too thin to make respectable clothing.

“They said it was un-Islamic to wear clothes that don’t properly cover the human body,” Khan said.

More here.

By that logic, Pakistani Muslims of both sexes aren’t allowed to have cloth to make underclothes or sleepwear. They have to wear the same oppressively hot, heavy outerwear day and night, with no undergarments to absorb their sweat. Glad I don’t live there!

Dog Haters in Iran and San Francisco

What do Iran and San Francisco have in common?

  • Dog-haters
  • Jihadi-sympathizers
  • Moonbats who thought they could control radical Muslims

Iran bans pet ads, brands dogs “unclean”

Of course, so did the prophet of Islam: “Ibn Mughaffal reported: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) ordered killing of the dogs, and then said: What about them, i. e. about other dogs? and then granted concession (to keep) the dog for hunting and the dog for (the security) of the herd, and said: When the dog licks the utensil, wash it seven times, and rub it with earth the eighth time.” — Sahih Muslim 551

Note also that just as unclean as dogs are unbelievers.

Sharia Alert from the Islamic Republic of Iran: “Iran bans pet ads, brands dogs ‘unclean,'” from NewsCore, August 27 (thanks to Weasel Zippers):

IRAN today banned all advertisements in the country for pets, pet shops, pet food and other pet products, claiming that people’s love for their dogs and cats may lead to “evil outcomes”.

The edict, announced by Iran’s powerful Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, is based on a fatwa issued by Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi, 86, a hardliner who lives in Iran’s holy city of Qom.

Read the rest. The comments are truly fascinating.

Okay, I’ll admit it. Although I’m mostly a cat person, I like dogs too. But that isn’t the point here. The real issues here have to do with tyranny, and with the unreasoning hatred and disgust that some people feel toward innocent living creatures.

Whenever any government, at any level, arrogates the power to micromanage the lives of its citizenry to this extent, we have a problem. Evidently, in the case of San Francisco, they might have become a little embarrassed by the ridicule resulting from media exposure. Iran, on the other hand, has no such compunctions.

San Francisco Pet Ban Delayed

San Francisco has told its contentious plan to ban the sale of all pets but fish to sit and stay — until January at the earliest.

The city garnered national headlines last month, when the city’s Animal Control and Welfare Commission proposed banning all pet sales in a move aimed at keeping small animals from being dumped on the Animal Control.

That commission last night, however, opted to put off discussion of its potential ban until 2011. The commission did come up with a new idea, however: Requiring would-be pet owners to obtain a license and take classes. This would ostensibly cut down on impulse purchases of guinea pigs and other small animals inundating the Animal Control office.

Let it be known that, as far back as last month, SF Weekly suggested alternatives: a “guinea pig fee” to offset the city’s costs in caring for hordes of abandoned rodents or a waiting period for potential pet buyers — “the Guinea Pig Brady Bill.”

These half-serious suggestions don’t look so outlandish anymore.

Gadget to help women feign virginity angers many in Egypt

Reporting from Cairo – Whether it’s seen as a clever little gadget to help a woman keep a secret or a devilish deception that threatens Islam, the Artificial Virginity Hymen Kit is not welcome in Egypt.

The kit allows a bride who is not a virgin to pretend that she is. A pouch inserted into the vagina on her wedding night ruptures and leaks a blood-like liquid designed to trick a new husband into believing that his wife is chaste. It’s a wink of ingenuity to soothe a man’s ego and keep the dowry intact.

Diana West: Losing our way to victory

And what war would that be? Since 9/11, the answer to this question has eluded our leaders, civilian and military, but it remains the missing link to a cogent U.S. foreign policy.

It is not, as our presidents vaguely in-voke, a war against “terrorism,” “radicalism” or “extremism”; and it is not, as the current hearts-and-minds-obsessed Af-ghanistan commander calls it, “a struggle to gain the support of the (Afghan) people.” It is something more specific than presidents describe, and it is something larger than the outlines of Iraq or Afghanistan. The war that has fallen to our generation is to halt the spread of Islamic law (Sharia) in the West, whether driven by the explosive belts of violent jihad, the morality-laundering of petro-dollars or decisive demographic shifts.
