Obama to Dine With Senate GOP
[via]

Republican Senators were directed to provide their own transportation (as did our Prezzy) unlike us peons whose transportation is paid for by tax dollars. Maybe I got that one wrong, but it’s too late to correct it in time for

Ezra rages against the Canadian Broadcast Standards Association and the campaign by tax payer parasite Margie Gillis to censor SunTV.

THE INTERVIEW AND THE BACKLASH (READ MARGIE GILLIS’ INSTRUCTIONS FOR VENGEANCE):

Sun News Interview with Margie Gillis – part 1

Sun News Interview with Margie Gillis – part 1

Hello Margie Gillis and friends…..

“Done the best for my country”……stop waving the flag, you are nothing but a glorified panhandler….there is no difference between you and some pesky wino following me down the street whining about his lot in life and how it deserves to be lifted by a small “donation”..

“A Canadian Dance Icon”……[expletive deleted]….aren’t we laying it on a little thick there Margie???…….suffering from the delusional stage of Alzheimer’s now are we????…..well perhaps you can join Margaret Trudeau, another “Canadian Icon” and picker of the Canadian taxpayers’ pocket (my my my…won’t you two have a lot to talk about), as she slides not so gracefully into old age dabbling in recreational pharmaceuticals and drunken driving…….nothing like the blather and flatulent ramblings of an old woman, suffering the debilitating effects of a terminal case of O.L.B.S. (Old Liberal Broad Syndrome), to give the hard working taxpayers of Canada a severe case of indigestion.

I watched the interview you gave you shameless old con artist, set off my gag reflex more times than Margaret Trudeau has been ridden by rock stars ….but Margie dearest, the winds of change are blowing…soon your “funding” will be cut and you will be relegated to your rightful place: giving interpretive dance lessons to the other “Les Connaisseurs De La Sous Le Pont”…..where, holding your bleary eyed audience spellbound and breathless in anticipation, you can regale them with wild tales of your glory days spent dipping into the Public Purse.

Later Margie, you master gourmand you, you can brew up a pot of “Souris avec des fèves au lard” and then, making the evening complete….the spectacular, Rat et le pigeon flambé ….all whilst sipping Listerine cocktails ‘neath Le Pont Mercier……….bathed in the glow of your faded youth and Montreal at night……a fitting end to your parasitic career.

I am so very very very glad the long run of the Liberals is over…..soon you and yours will only be a bad memory….a frightening tale I tell my grandchildren…….“Gather round kiddies and let me tell you about Margie Gillis and her 1.2 million dollars”……..”Oh No Grandpa…..you’ll frighten the kids!!!!!”…..

Regards, Don Laird (A non compassionate taxpayer!!!!)

THIN SKINNED SENATOR JIM MUNSON AND HIS BARREL OF PORK

To Margie Gillis et. al.:

Hello there….its me…..again….

I am forwarding a response to my email “The Panhandling Dancer”………it comes from Canadian Senator Jim Munson.
(see his response below)

Senator Munson, in his role as senator (“Senator”…the very definition of parasitic) feels that my objection to Margie Gillis’ picking the pockets of Canadian taxpayers can be classified as “You are very sick” and “You understand nothing”

Well Senator Munson, after a lifetime spent in the profession of “reality twisting” and “politically correct manipulation of fact” (mainstream Canadian media) you really hit the jackpot when old “Mumbles Chrétien”, the “Swindler from Shawinigan”, in appointing you senator….gave you your very own barrel of pork. And now, as a senator, and just like Margie Gillis, at taxpayers expense, you spend your days vigorously polishing a chaise lounge with your ass…….. I “understand” that very clearly.

But I digress……

You see Munson……there is a difference between me and you….its called reality…..I understand that when a person receives 1.2 million dollars in Public funding for “interpretive dance”, a pursuit that can, at best, be described as the imitation of epileptic rodenti, and, at worst, the quintessential definition of “artsy-fartsy”, its glorified welfare, plain and simple…….so please, in the future, refrain from the sport of Liberal politicians and mainstream media……”Pissing on the public and then telling them its raining”

In closing Senator Munson…..and please forgive my profanity…..why don’t you seek Public funding for something that, as a Canadian senator and politician, you would be eminently qualified for…..”Interpretive Dog-F***ing”………

Hugs and Kisses….

Regards, Don Laird

Why The World Economy Sucks

(h/t: yenta-fada)

What are we talking about here?

Business Dictionary offers a long-winded, technical definition of sovereign debt. In a nutshell, sovereign debt is debt that a government owes. If a debtor government cannot repay its debt, its creditors (bondholders) do not have the power to force it into bankruptcy and divide up its remaining assets. So if the debt goes bad, both the debtor government and its creditors are in a predicament.

Government debt. Under the doctrine of sovereign immunity, the repayment of sovereign debt cannot be forced by the creditors and it is thus subject to compulsory rescheduling, interest rate reduction, or even repudiation. The only protection available to the creditors is threat of the loss of credibility and lowering of the international standing (the sovereign debt rating) of the country which may make it much more difficult to borrow in the future.

The Greek Debt Crisis Explained in Four Minutes

Note: The above video makes some valid points about the financial house of cards that various governments are busily trying to prop up. That said, I place no faith in the ability of the IMF or any other international financial organization to do anything other than worsen the crash by attempting to delay the inevitable.

I also must point out that there is a tremendous difference between a private enterprise with a good credit rating borrowing at a low interest rate to invest in future productivity, and a government borrowing money for supposedly the same reason. Experience has proven governments to be incapable of investing borrowed money in anything that will result in economic expansion.

The real outcome of such wasteful spending will be more like this chilling ad by Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW):

US Government Wasted Billions in Rebuilding Iraq
h/t: NoThreat2U

By Kim Gamel, AP

KHAN BANI SAAD, Iraq — A $40 million prison sits in the desert north of Baghdad, empty. A $165 million children’s hospital goes unused in the south. A $100 million waste water treatment system in Fallujah has cost three times more than projected, yet sewage still runs through the streets

As the U.S. draws down in Iraq, it is leaving behind hundreds of abandoned or incomplete projects. More than $5 billion in American taxpayer funds has been wasted — more than 10 percent of the some $50 billion the U.S. has spent on reconstruction in Iraq, according to audits from a U.S. watchdog agency.

That amount is likely an underestimate, based on an analysis of more than 300 reports by auditors with the special inspector general for Iraq reconstruction. And it does not take into account security costs, which have run almost 17 percent for some projects.

Read it all.

What a waste!

We need to rebuild America, and we can do it only by restraining our spending, by cutting the deficit, by deregulating, and by lowering taxes.

“Foreign aid” is one place where we need to stop spending money. I do not mean that we should merely “cut” spending, I mean that we should stop entirely. That also means not a penny more for QUANGOs or NGOs such as USAID.

Nation-building = EPIC FAIL

Presidents in both parties like to use the often illusory and temporary benefits that the US government provides for overseas beneficiaries as a PR move and sometimes a backdrop for photo ops. Too bad nobody ever asks the American people whether we want or can afford to spend this money.

The amount of waste, graft, and simple incompetence taking place place on government projects overseas tends to be even higher than that which takes place on the same type of government project at home. One reason is that distance is always and everywhere the enemy of accountability. The other reason is that the US has so often been trying to modernize Islamic countries, which is inherently impossible to do without eliminating Islam. This is one area where I do fault George W. Bush and Condoleezza Rice. Due to their backgrounds in the oil industry, and due to their indoctrination in the fraudulent Wilsonian ideology, neither one of them is intellectually, emotionally, or spiritually capable of comprehending the threat that is Islam.

Money sent to Islamic nations is not received with gratitude. It is interpreted either as an attempt at manipulation on the part of the Judaeo-Christian West, or as a form of jizya and a sign of weakness and dhimmitude.

Any US government spending overseas costs us heavily at home. We cannot afford it; more often than not, it is counterproductive; and the sooner we put an end to it, the better.

GWB and the Republican Party have paid the price for these fruitless attempts at ‘nation-building’.

The exchange of comments that appeared on a prior thread on 2.0: The Blogmocracy, regarding this very issue, underline my point:

What to do?

Our politicians must be taught the lesson that ‘nation-building’ is always and everywhere doomed to fail. But that will happen if, and only if, people like ourselves hold their feet to the fire.

If you are an American, I ask that you write, call, or better yet, VISIT the offices of your US Senators and your US Representative. Tell them NO more tax dollars should go to foreign aid or nation-building, and that the money should go instead toward deficit and tax reduction. If you visit their district offices, you will usually be able to talk with a staffer. That’s just fine – the staffers relay constituent concerns to the legislator, and your message will get through.
