What The Left Don’t Understand About Islam

by Iron Fist ( 42 Comments › )

Well, lots of things, really, but this post by Rodger Simon illustrates their greatest ignorance: they don’t believe that the Mulslim Leaders really believe what they are saying. After all, hypocracy is next to Godliness among our Elites (of both Parties). Why would the Muslim leaders be any different? This is a massive weakness, one that they, in their hypocracy, harp on constantly. Aren’t we supposed to try and understand our enemies? In this case, that is advice that they should have heeded.

The Obama Administration Prepares for War With Libya

by Iron Fist ( 68 Comments › )

This is a very disturbing turn of events. Yesterday, as we all know, the UN Security Council in a vote of 10-0 (with 5 abstaining) Authorized a “No-Fly” zone in Libya plus:

Authorizes Member States that have notified the Secretary-General, acting nationally or through regional organizations or arrangements, and acting in cooperation with the Secretary-General, to take all necessary measures … to protect civilians and civilian populated areas under threat of attack in the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, including Benghazi, while excluding a foreign occupation force of any form on any part of Libyan territory, and requests the Member States concerned to inform the Secretary-General immediately of the measures they take pursuant to the authorization conferred by this paragraph which shall be immediately reported to the Security Council

“All necessary measures” is an authorization of war. How far witll we go? I do not know, but the indicators that this article puts forth are that we are contemplating more than a “No-Fly” zone (as authorized by the UN):

At Thursday morning’s hearing before the Senate Armed Services Committee, Air Force Chief of Staff Norton Schwartz said that Qaddafi’s forces had reestablished control over large swaths of territory and that the Libyan leader had tens of planes and hundreds of helicopters in use.

He called the plan to impose a no-fly zone in a few days “overly optimistic” and said “it would take upwards of a week.”

Schwartz was also clear that while the U.S. military can impose a no-fly zone, that’s not likely to stop Qaddafi all by itself. He also noted that to do so effectively might require diverting some resources from the missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“The question is, is a no-fly zone the last step or is it the first step?” Schwartz said.
Asked by Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) whether a no-fly zone could turn the momentum, Scwartz replied, “A no-fly zone, sir, would not be sufficient.”

Will we stop at “not…sufficient”? Notice, too, that Schwartz indicates that this may divert resources from Iraq and Afghanistan. Does this make sense? Only to the Tranzi-Progressives that want to see American military power broken. What will we do? Bare minimum it looks like they want us to be providing close air support and anti-armor capabilities to the “rebels”:

Asked what he learned from the briefing, Graham said, “I learned that it’s not too late, that the opposition forces are under siege but they are holding, and that with a timely intervention, a no-fly zone and no-drive zone, we can turn this thing around.”

Asked exactly what the first wave of attacks would look like, Graham said, “We ground his aircraft and some tanks start getting blown up that are headed toward the opposition forces.”

No matter what spin you put on that, it is becoming co-belligerants with the Islamists, supporting their goals, and either winning or losing with them. Does this strike you as sound US Foreign Policy? We don’t really even know what the “rebels” represent except that that are anti-Qaddafi. That is hardly reassuring.

As has been reiterated on this blog by several authors, there is no compelling American interest in Libya. Even if these “rebels” were Jeffersonian Democrats there would not be compelling American National Interest here, but there is no indication beyond wishful thinking that they are anything resembling such a thing. Their battle-flag has the Islamic Crecent and Star on it, telling the observant that they are Islamists of one stripe or another. Does it make sense to commit American blood and treasure to the establishment of yet another Islamic Republic, whether they vote on their Mullahs or not?

The Orthodox Church’s View of ‘Islam’

The Orthodox Church’s approach to Islam is very simple and is very well spelled out by St John of Damascus (St John the Damascene for the Catholics).  St John was patriarch of Damascus in the 700’s and is the single most important writer in Orthodoxy. He witnessed the rise of Islam first hand and identified what Islam is, a movement brought forward by a false prophet. St John continues in his encyclopedic work “The Font of Knowledge”. “Concerning Heresy”  is contained in this book, in the section On Heresies, he dedicates a portion to the Heresy of the Ishmaelites, being the first apologetic work against Islam by a Christian. :

There is also the superstition of the Ishmaelites which to this day prevails and keeps people in error, being a forerunner of the Antichrist. They are descended from Ishmael, [who] was born to Abraham of Agar, and for this reason they are called both Agarenes and Ishmaelites. They are also called Saracens, which is derived from Sarras kenoi, or destitute of Sara, because of what Agar said to the angel: ‘Sara hath sent me away destitute.’ These used to be idolaters and worshiped the morning star and Aphrodite, whom in their own language they called Khabár, which means great.  And so down to the time of Heraclius they were very great idolaters. From that time to the present a false prophet named Mohammed has appeared in their midst. This man, after having chanced upon the Old and New Testaments and likewise, it seems, having conversed with an Arian monk, devised his own heresy. Then, having insinuated himself into the good graces of the people by a show of seeming piety, he gave out that a certain book had been sent down to him from heaven. He had set down some ridiculous compositions in this book of his and he gave it to them as an object of veneration….

that the book came down to him while he was asleep. Then we jokingly say to them that, as long as he received the book in his sleep and did not actually sense the operation, then the popular adage applies to him which runs: You’re spinning me dreams.

I also invite you to please read this Definitive Reply to Islam (the author’s name had to be withheld)

I wish to note that Orthodoxy reserves this dim view for Islam alone.  Other religions are respected by Orthodoxy.  Islam is not respected, because it is not  seen as a religion.

It is the view of the Orthodox church that Islam was brought forward by a false prophet, Mohamed.  His religious movement is heretical to Christianity and is based upon the ‘dreams’ of a sociopath. The Eastern Churches had the unfortunate luck to have Islam as a neighbor. The fight against in the East continues in Russia and Serbia and has been going on since the inception of the rantings of a false prophet. As a practicing Orthodox I proudly agree whole heatedly with these assessments of Islam.

Religion of Peace Murders More in Chechnya, and Makes Noise in Moscow

The Religion of Peace ™ (ROPMA) tries another murderous attack on the West. The terrorists are all liquidated in a very rapid fashion.

From the Moscow Times:

A brazen attack on the Chechen parliament in Grozny killed at least six people, including Islamist insurgents, and injured 17 others Tuesday morning, a sign that post-war stability in the republic remains fragile.

“At least three attackers managed to get inside the Chechen parliament and blew themselves up,” Mariam Nalayeva, a spokeswoman for the Investigative Committee’s Chechen branch, said by telephone from Grozny.

News reports later in the day spoke of four or five rebels who got through security by following a Chechen lawmaker’s car and started a shootout.

Officials did not immediately comment on the discrepancy in numbers.

The attack began at about 9 a.m., when Chechen lawmakers were about to meet a delegation of 50 officials from the Sverdlovsk region legislature.

The assailants killed at least two police officers, as well as the parliament’s supplies manager, and injured seven policemen and 11 civilians, Nalayeva said.

Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov arrived at the scene soon after the attack.

“As a result of the coherent actions of the law enforcement agencies, the liquidation of the insurgents was accomplished within 15 to 20 minutes, and all the lawmakers and technical personnel were released,” Kadyrov said in a statement.

I like the quick liquidation of Muslim Terrorists, no trial and dispatched to enjoy their own little section of Hell.

Nationalists Calling for ‘Clean Moscow’

Planned Mosque Sparks Controversy in Russia

The leaders of Moscow’s 1.5 million strong Muslim community say they desperately need more places of worship. But a plan to build a new mosque has run into local opposition which is being fuelled by nationalists calling for a “clean Moscow” without Muslims and foreigners.

Small trees are supposed to be keeping the Muslims out of Tekstilshchiki, a district in south eastern Moscow. A young man sets to work with his shovel, pushing it into the earth with a determined kick. Then he places a seedling into the hole and sprinkles earth over it. Using her watering can, Maria Sotova pours some water onto the seedling. “We want a park here and not a mosque or a church or anything else,” says the mother who is here with her six-year-old son. There are about a hundred residents of Tekstilshchiki gathered on this lawn –and they want to prevent the start of construction on an Islamic religious center.

I wonder how soon the Religion of Peace will wait until the Muslim Cowards start attacking the Muscovites who don’t want this brand of ‘religion’ expanded in their fair city?  Fair warning mufties, Moscow and the Russians will fight back, be happy with the mosques that you have. It’s not just the ultra-nationalists and extreme right that doesn’t want the muslim plague in Moscow; the normal Muscovite is no fan of muslims either.
