Memory Eternal

Let us begin by honoring the memory of those killed for their bodily organs during the Kosovo War and its aftermath. Memory Eternal (Vechnaya Pamyat/Вечнaјa Пaмјat in Serbian Cyrillic) is the traditional Orthodox Christian hymn commemorating the dead. This version is sung by St. Sergius’ Choir, at St. Sava’s Serbian Orthodox Church in Cleveland, Ohio.

America Forgets

It’s amazing. When the Serbs were accused of committing atrocities, our congressmen couldn’t jump up fast enough on the floor of the House to condemn them, yet something as horrific as this, they and the media remain silent. It’s news all over Europe, but we’ve heard nothing about this in the states.

EUobserver: EU and US accused of cover-up on organ trafficking

Investigator Dick Marty
Investigator Dick Marty

…A report published by Mr Marty in December sent shockwaves through the international community when it linked Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci to a gruesome crime ring which carried out organ harvesting and heroin smuggling in the region.

Serb prisoners held in special detention camps were killed and had their organs extracted for sale on the international black market in the 1990s, claimed the 27-page document.

A former leader of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), Mr Thaci’s name was frequently cited in intelligence and diplomatic reports from Kosovo sent by western information agencies such as the FBI, MI6, “but the western politicians persistently remained quiet,” Mr Marty said in the interview.

“Everybody kept quiet. That’s the real scandal, not my report in which I only wrote what many have known for a long time,” he added.

That claim appears to be supported by a recently leaked US diplomatic cable which suggests former Dutch state secretary for European Affairs Frans Timmermans warned the US in 2007 that senior Kosovo officials were heavily involved in criminal activities.

“Kosovo is run by people who live off crime … [they have] no other means to support themselves,” Mr Timmermans reportedly told US officials in The Hague, according to the cable published by WikiLeaks.

An EU mission in Kosovo, Eulex, is currently investigating the recent allegations, but the supervisory body is plagued by internal problems that will prevent witnesses giving real evidence, Mr Marty said.

“There is no secrecy. All translators are local, there are many local staff. That is why even the most confidential information has been systematically leaking,” he said.

“If I gave [Eulex] the names of the witnesses I interviewed [as called for by the EU], their lives would immediately be under threat.”

Instead, a special investigation unit from abroad with a credible witness protection programme is needed, suggested the Swiss politician – something he feels Europe will oppose as it will expose their previous unwillingness to act.

“Europe is never going to accept that. Because it knows that my witnesses would really talk and reveal that a large part of the European politicians knew all along what was going on in Kosovo. Do you really think that Brussels wants to hear something like this,” he said.

Read it all.

The KLA and Organ Trafficking Update

It appears that the Organ Trafficking story about Kosovo and the KLA just got a new player and a new organization that helped in the cover up: Soren Jessen Petersen, the head of the UN’s mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) from 2004 to 2006. Apparently, the Serbs are claiming that  the UN and Mr Petersen were involved in covering up the actions of Prime Minister Hashim Thaci who is known to have “headed  Kosovo Liberation Army faction which controlled secret detention centers in Albania where human organ trafficking was alleged to have taken place in the aftermath of the 1998-99 war between the guerrillas and Serbian forces.”

As of yesterday, Serbia has requested that the international war crimes court investigate Soren Jessen Petersen, former head of UNMIK. Isn’t this nice! Now it appears that the UN was also in on the criminal activities of the KLA. I wonder if the UN chiefs on the ground were getting any narcotics money as bribes?

I had to dig down to AFP and the Pakistani news service to get this story, then i found it on Breitbart. I am pretty sure that means that Christian Ammanpour wont be breathlessly gushing over the details of this story on CNN.  I wonder how this would be covered if it were the Serbs trafficking in organs?

UN covered up organ trafficking report, says Serbia

Serbia asked the international war crimes court for the former Yugoslavia to investigate a former UN chief in Kosovo for covering up a report on organ trafficking, a report said on Sunday.

Serbia’s minister for cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) wrote to chief prosecutor Serge Brammertz seeking an inquest into Soren Jessen Petersen, the head of the UN’s mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) from 2004 to 2006, Blic newspaper reported.

“We are waiting for ICTY to open an inquest into UNMIK officials at the time for contempt of court,” minister Rasim Ljajic told the newspaper.

Council of Europe rapporteur Dick Marty published a report earlier this month that linked Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci to organ trading and organised crime, which Thaci has denied.

UNMIK investigated possible organ trafficking in 2004, but it did not take it further citing lack of evidence.

“At the time, UNMIK said it did not have a report on organ trafficking and had no proof … But in 2008 our war crimes prosecutor obtained 16 pages of this report,” Ljajic said.

Marty’s report said Thaci headed a Kosovo Liberation Army faction which controlled secret detention centres in Albania, where the human organ trafficking was alleged to have taken place in the aftermath of the 1998-99 war between the guerrillas and Serbian forces.

Earlier this month, Council of Europe reporter Dick Marty, who led the two-year effort to uncover alleged crimes committed by Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, published a report linking the premier to organ trading and organized crime.
Marty implicated Thaci in organ trafficking, accusing him of being a top organized crime boss.
The report released just days after the first general election in Kosovo since it declared independence from Serbia in 2008.
Thaci was said to have headed a Kosovo Liberation Army faction which controlled secret detention centers in Albania where human organ trafficking was alleged to have taken place in the aftermath of the 1998-99 war between the guerrillas and Serbian forces.
Thaci has denied the allegations and denounced them as a smear campaign launched against him and the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).

BELGRADE — National Hague Cooperation Council Chairman Rasim Ljajić says he will ask the Hague Tribunal to initiate “contempt of court proceedings”.

They would be launched “against all those who interfered with the investigation into the illegal human organs trafficking in Kosovo”.

The report on this issue published on Thursday concerns the killing and organ harvesting from a large number of Serbs and other civilians kidnapped in Kosovo by the ethnic Albanian KLA, in 1999 and 2000.

Speaking for B92 on Friday evening, Ljajić said he will on Monday request that proceedings be launched against former heads of UNMIK, including Chief Soren Jessen-Petersen “and several other persons who interfered with the investigation because the policy of the international community in Kosovo at the time put stability before justice”.

“They knew about all these charges and suspicions, but they did nothing to prosecute or examine them. On the contrary, they did all they could to cover up the whole thing and to prevent witnesses from participating and testifying about the crimes committed at the time,” Ljajić said.

Special Political Adviser to the Hague Tribunal Chief Prosecutor Frederick Swinnen meanwhile told Tanjug that this office is “monitoring Belgrade’s moves, but will not voice its stand until it receives the request to launch the proceedings which the Serbian authorities announced”.

Here is some more background on Prime Minister Thaci:

The report by the Council of Europe has named Kosovo’s Prime Minister Hashim Thaci as the “boss” of the criminal underworld behind the grisly trade.

Thaci was the political leader of the KLA during the Kosovo war in 1998-1999.

The Kosovo government has dismissed as “baseless and defamatory” the draft report, which was obtained by the British newspaper The Guardian.

Pristina has also issued a warning, saying it will take legal and political measures against what it called the “slanders.”

The report, which is the result of a two-year-long investigation by the special rapporteur of the Council of Europe, Dick Marty, is due to be published on Thursday.

It charges the KLA of secretly transferring its Serbian and Albanian prisoners from Kosovo to Albania, where they were murdered for their body parts.

Those organs were later sold on the black market to people in Canada, Germany and Israel.

The alleged crimes occurred after the Kosovo war ended in 1999.

The KLA has also been accused of involvement in heroin trade, and there is evidence that its activities in organized crime continue to the present day.

Marty is set to give his report to the legal and human rights committee of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg on Thursday.

The development comes as Thaci’s Democratic Party (PDK) won Kosovo’s parliamentary elections held on Sunday.

Kosovo opposition parties have cried fraud, claiming that the PDK has cheated.

In February 2008, Kosovo unilaterally declared independence from Serbia, and has so far been recognized by 68 countries, including the United States and a vast majority of the European Union.

The vote constituted the country’s first parliamentary elections since it proclaimed independence in 2008.

A response to:
Clinton Heads to Belgrade for Talks on Kosovo, Serbia’s EU Bid

By: Stella Jatras

Good afternoon, Mr. Gomez. Since you were kind enough to give your email address (which few editors do!) in your commentary, Clinton Heads to Belgrade for Talks on Kosovo, Serbia’s EU Bid, I consider it an invitation to present my comments regarding Hillary and William Jefferson Clinton, or as the old program said, “You Asked For It,” and for that I thank you.

Let me begin with the following: In violation of International Law, the NATO Charter and WITHOUT the approval of the US Congress, NATO, at the urging of President Clinton (and Hillary,) bombed tiny Yugoslavia that did NOT have weapons of mass destruction, NEVER attacked us nor any other NATO country, and was NEVER a threat to us nor to any other NATO country. It was all based on the images we saw on TV. I invite you to read my A War Of Images, that was published in Jewish World Review. At the time we bombed Serbian civilians, NATO consisted of approximately 900 million members – and bombing tiny Yugoslavia with approximately 10 million in population and we thumped our chests like an 800-lb gorilla!

I strongly suggest you read Kosovo & Yugoslavia: Law In Crisis, at: http://jurist.law.pitt.edu/hayden.htm.

In 1995, NATO, bombed the Bosnian Serbs at the Markale Market Place – we all saw the images with the dead bloated bodies every hour on the hour by CNN’s Christiane Amanpour (whose father is Iranian and did have a dog in this fight) – an atrocity blamed on the Serbs. However, Yossef Bodansky, the author of “Bin Laden: The Man Who Declared War on America,” wrote in his book “Offensive in the Balkans,” the following:

Phase Three started with the self-inflicted major terrorist provocation. On Friday 5, 1994, a major explosion rocked the Markale — Sarajevo’s main market place — causing heavy casualties. What was immediately described as the ubiquitous “Serb mortar shell” was actually a special charge designed and built with help from HizbAllah experts and then most likely dropped from a nearby rooftop onto the crowd of shoppers Video cameras at the ready recorded this expertly-staged spectacle of gore, while dozens of corps of Bosnian Muslim troops killed in action (exchanged the day before in a ‘body swap’ with the Serbs) were paraded in front of cameras to raise the casualty counts.

“This callous self-killing was designed to shock the West especially sentimental and gullible Washington, in order to raise the level of Western sympathy to the Bosnian Muslims and further demonize the Serbs so that Western governments would be more supportive of Sarajevo’s forthcoming aggressive moves, and perhaps even finally intervene military.”

Maj. General Lewis MacKenzie (First UNPROFOR commander to Bosnia) also confirmed that “cameras were on the ready,” to take pictures of the Markale Market Place massacre allegedly to have been committed by Serbian forces when in reality, Bosnian Muslims were the ones who killed their own people.

Re: Hillary’s little sojourn to Bosnia – apologizing saying that she ‘Misspoke’ About Bosnia Trip. Gee! I thought she was the smartest woman in the world, or so she told us!

Furthermore, I spoke with William Nash, who was the commander of U.S. troops in Bosnia and was at the Tuzla airport with Hillary Clinton. He said there was no threat of sniper fire at the airport during her visit. He said that Mrs. Clinton was gracious during her visit and took pictures with the soldiers, but “she never had her head down. There was no sniper threat that I know of.

Hillary’s fake story reminds me of when Mr. Kinzer (NYT magazine, 1994) wrote of Christiane Amanpour: “Advocate or not, Amanpour has developed a style of her own. She has a strong ego, and is satisfied only when she can dominate a story, as she has in Bosnia.” I guess that includes a little stage management when appropriate. According to another journalist who was with Ms. Amanpour during a visit to Kosovo, some of the journalists were taken on a orientation flight along the border between Kosovo and Albania by helicopter and were advised to wear flak jackets for the flight because of possible ground fire from Albanian positions. When the flight returned, Ms. Amanpour, wearing a flak jacket, taped her report for the CNN audience with scenes photographed from the helicopter in the background… really dramatic stuff. The only problem is, she had not accompanied her cameraman on the flight. The flak jacket and the taped film of the flight were all for effect. And to think that Cokie Roberts was criticized for wearing a coat and having a picture of the Capitol Building in the background when, in fact, she was being filmed in a studio.

The article is from my pen, entitled Odd Alliance at State and CNN? which you can read at http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=16082 Also: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2206485/posts, where I posted my comments regarding Christiane Amanpour.

I strongly advise you to get a copy of John Schindler’s book, Unholy Terror: Bosnia, Al-Qa’ida, and the Rise of Global Jihad, where he makes the following points:

* how the Bosnian conflict has been misrepresented by the mainstream media, covering up the large role played by radical Islam and al-Qa’ida;

* how Osama bin Laden used Bosnia as a base for terrorist operations worldwide—including attacks on the United States from the Millennium Plot to 9/11;

* how veterans of the Bosnian jihad have murdered thousands of Americans and conducted terrorist attacks around the world;

* how the Clinton administration, in collaboration with Iran, secretly supplied Bosnia’s mujahidin, including al-Qa’ida, with millions of dollars of weapons and supplies;

* how America’s Bosnian allies have been in covert alliances with radical anti-American regimes in several countries;

* why Bosnia and its secret jihad matter to America and our War on Terrorism today.

And what have we accomplished in the Balkans? Bosnia and Kosovo are corridors into Europe and into the United States (i.e., Ft. Dix.) with their jihad – and Oh! by the way, it was Hillary who welcomed Kosovo Albanians to the United States at Ft. Dix in 1999.

And may I ask a question of you, Mr. Bloomberg. Are you or were you aware that the Bosnian Muslims and the Kosovo Liberation Army were killing their own people in order to get us to fight their battle, which we willing did thanks to our President Clinton? It certainly took America’s mind off of Monica. Did you see the pictures of al-Qaida terrorists holding the heads of Serbs? Or the report of KLA drowning grandmothers in bathtubs in Kosovo? I often wonder, what did the Serbian people ever do to us other than be our ally in World War II where they rescued over 500 downed American pilots (known as Halyard Mission), and what was their reward for their sacrifices? We bombed their mothers, their fathers, sisters and brothers. See: “Halyard Mission” and Mihailovich Honored at World’s Largest Private Air Show – AirVenture July 2009 and The Serbs Chose War, by Ruth Mitchell.

Although I have merely touched the tip of the iceberg, I have already taken up enough of your time and I thank you for lending me your ear.

Best regards,

Stella (Jatras)

P.S. If you go to www.yahoo.com or www.google.com, and type in my name, Stella Jatras, you will understand why I received a death threat from the UCK, the Albanian arm of the Kosovo Liberation Army.

FYI: I am not a Serb, nor did I know anything about Serbians until our intervention into the Balkans in the 1990s…….
