Last night like many of you, I was watching the riots in Baltimore on TV. One thing that struck me were the law abiding residents who were angry at the looters attacking stores and cars. One man came out and pointed out how the rioters had smashed his car, that he uses to get to work. I asked myself, why weren’t these residents fighting back against the Black Guerrilla Family and their allies? It then dawned on me, Maryland has some of the strictest gun control laws in the country.
Last year, then Governor, Martin O’Malley signed a bill, that further restricted, the Constitutional rights of the residents of Maryland, to own guns.
Maryland’s gun laws are now among the strictest in the nation.
Governor Martin O’Malley signed the sweeping gun control measure Thursday. Under the new legislation, which the governor helped push through the General Assembly, anyone buying a handgun will have to submit fingerprints to obtain a license. The bill also bans 45 types of assault weapons, but those who own the weapons before the law goes into effect will be allowed to keep them.
Gun magazines will be limited to 10 bullets, gun ownership by people who have been involuntarily committed to a mental health facility will be banned, and Maryland State Police will be able to suspend the licenses of gun dealers who fail to comply with recordkeeping obligations.
As a former resident of a gun control state, who now lives in right to bear arms state, I can tell you what these laws really do. The goal of gun control is to have minorities and middle class whites disarmed and at the mercies of criminals. It is virtually impossible for a minority (who is not politically connected) or a middle class white to obtain legal firearms in these states. Rich white progressives on the other hand either get gun permits every easily or have armed guards.
Gun Control creates the need for a powerful police state, that becomes the enforcer of progressive policies, see the Eric Garner case. Police unions supports gun control laws, since that means more money for cops and more political power for them. In other words, government creates a problem in this case, out of control gangs to justify a need for more governmnet in the form of the police state.
If Maryland did not have gun control laws, the law abiding residents of Baltimore, would have protected their property and hunted down the Black Guerrilla Family thugs causing this mess. But this is not what the governmnet wants, they want us dependent on them to protect us.
The riots in Baltimore are a direct result of gun control laws that are a violation of our constitutional rights to bear arms.
Update: When it rains, it pours with bad news.
Iran has fired at a U.S. cargo ship and has directed it to Bandar Abbas port on the southern coast of Iran, Al Arabiya News Channel has reported on Tuesday.
Up to 34 American sailors are believed to be onboard the ship, Al Arabiya reported.
