The
liberalssocialistscommies that run NPR (into the ground) are totally clueless and think everyone is as stupid as them and the imbeciles who listen to their horrendous programming.“The proposal to prohibit public radio stations from using Corporation for Public Broadcasting grants to purchase NPR programming interjects federal authority into local station program decision-making. “This legislation would ultimately dictate the daily editorial schedules and news programs of nearly one thousand public radio stations across America.”
Huh??? It doesn’t interject anything because without the federal (taxpayer) funding they’re free to broadcast whatever crappy programs they want without any type of federal oversight. These people are morons.
They claim that only two percent of their annual budget comes from the taxpayers, even though the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which oversees NPR, says it received $420 million, of which about $90 million went to NPR.
Right after the Juan Williams firing late last year, after Williams said he gets nervous if he’s on a plane and he sees a muslim onboard, NPR president Vivian Schiller attempted to go into damage-control mode, but failed miserably, saying that “NPR receives less than 2 percent annually, on average, from government grants, of their annual budget of $166 million.”
Yeah right. You how you can tell when a lib is lying? Their lips are moving.
CPB/NPR also receives taxpayer money from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Departments of Education and Commerce, not to mention the private donations it receives from various lefty foundations and private citizens from its almost daily beg-fests, where for only a $200 donation you get a $2 CD.
But let’s suppose only 2% of their annual budget is taxpayer funded, that’s $3.32 million. What happened to the other, oh, about $86.68 million of our money?
It turns out that these taxpayer-supplied funds are used in what is nothing more than an elaborate shell game. Some of the money goes to NPR to pay for their programming, and some of it goes to local NPR stations, which then have to buy their programming from NPR, so most of the money ends up in the coffers where it started, at CPB/NPR.
Since they claim only get two percent of their budget from us, I’m sure they could find alternative sources for those funds. I’m certain there are a lot of
democratssocialists who are millionaires and billionaires that could fund them. George Soros already donates millions to NPR. Let him cover their tab if he thinks the pollution that is NPR’s programming is so vitally important. The one thing that pisses me off about the bill being written by Republicans is that it would only cut off funding for NPR, not the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
In these days of satellite and cable TV offering hundreds of stations, not to mention satellite and terrestrial Radio with thousands of stations, and of course the internet, there’s no reason whatsoever our money should be used for airing their far left-wing agenda on radio or TV, especially considering the trillions of dollars of debt the libs and some RINOS have racked up in the last few years.
Yeah, I’m a mean SOB, but I say cancel Big Bird and Barney if we have to pay for them! Maybe at the swamp they can put a recipe for Barney burgers in the LFG cookbook.

About that raaaaacist, xenophobic Republican party
by Mojambo ( 212 Comments › )Filed under Democratic Party, Elections, Elections 2010, Politics, Republican Party at November 4th, 2010 - 11:30 am
A certain overweight, perpetually bitter, former musician loves to smear Republicans as bigots. Well let’s see who was elected on Tuesday on the GOP ticket. Someone needs to watch what he says, and let us not forget we had previously elected Bobby Jindal (Governor of Louisiana). With us conservatives, character counts! Let us also not forget Van Tran who came here as a young boy as one of the Vietnamese boat people fleeing repression in 1975, who sadly failed to unseat the bigoted Loretta Sanchez in California.
hat tips – Rodan and “m”
by Guy Benson
After the 2006 midterm elections, many in the chattering class declared the GOP had been reduced to a “regional party” – white, male, and Southern. Since President Obama’s election in 2008, the Leftist mainstream media has worked diligently to paint much of the opposition to his policies as the bigoted and deranged spasms of a marginalized, racist conservative base. The tea party movement represented “racism, straight up” according to political philosopher Janeane Garofalo. Maureen Dowd, Frank Rich, Eugene Robinson, and Bob Herbert practically took turns writing weekly columns slandering conservatives using flagrant race baiting, including an embarrassing election-day screed from Robinson. Chris Matthews complained that the political Right was “monochromatic” for his taste. And the Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid wondered aloud how anyone of Hispanic descent could possibly be a Republican. Then came the 2010 elections.
The midterm election not only busted the myth that the GOP is a regional party – seeing Republican gains in the Northeast, Midwest and West – it also puts to rest the notion that Republicans are a lily white party whose base won’t embrace a diverse slate of candidates. In eight prominent contests, Republicans nominated and elected excellent candidates and fine conservatives who also happen to be people of color:
Nevada Governor – In a deliciously ironic twist, a Hispanic Republican – Brian Sandoval – defeated Rory Reid, son of the very man who suggested that people like Sandoval don’t, or shouldn’t, exist. It wasn’t close: Sandoval dominated Rory Reid and secured a double-digit victory.
New Mexico Governor – Suzanna Martinez became the first female Hispanic Governor of a US State in history – from either party. She ran a disciplined campaign, torched her opponent with one of the most devastating attack ads of the entire cycle, and won by a substantial 8-point margin.
South Carolina Governor – Overcoming nasty rumors about her religion and alleged marital infidelity, Nikki Haley became America’s second Indian-American Governor. (The other, of course, is Louisiana’s Bobby Jindal, also a Republican).
SC-01 – After JC Watts retired from Congress in 2002, the House Republican caucus lost its lone African-American member. Until last night. Republican Tim Scott, a strong conservative, won the open seat in South Carolina’s first Congressional District. He pulled off this feat in the deep south, and did so in a romp – winning by approximately 35 percentage points.
FL-22 – Another black Republican was elected to the House last night: Conservative superstar Col. Allen West. The Iraq War hero handily unseated Rep. Ron Klein, who threw the kitchen sink at West, but to no avail. When this race was called, supposedly “racist” tea partiers and grassroots conservatives rejoiced across the country.
WA-03 – Jaime Herrera chose not to highlight her Hispanic origins in her battle against Democrat Denny Heck for the open seat in Washington’s third Congressional District. She ran a very strong, issues-based campaign, and won comfortably.

Hey, even the Associated Press has noticed. The reporter correctly points out that the minority candidates who have won for the GOP did so in majority white districts. Tim Scott who won in South Carolina was elected in a district that is 70% white. Again, we conservatives care about issues, not your race, sexuality, or ethnic origin.
The Republican wave produced groundbreaking results for minority candidates, from Latina and Indian-American governors to a pair of black congressmen from the Deep South.
In New Mexico, Susana Martinez was elected as the nation’s first female Hispanic governor. Nikki Haley, whose parents were born in India, will be the first woman governor in South Carolina, and Brian Sandoval became Nevada’s first Hispanic governor.
Insurance company owner Tim Scott will be the first black Republican congressman from South Carolina since Reconstruction, after easily winning in his conservative district. Scott, a 45-year-old state representative, earned a primary victory over the son of the one-time segregationist U.S. Sen. Strom Thurmond.
In Florida, veteran Allen West ousted a two-term Democrat to a House seat. He is the first black Republican elected to Congress from Florida since a former slave served two terms in the 1870s.
The last black Republican in Congress was J.C. Watts of Oklahoma. He left office in 2003. There were 42 black Democrats in Congress this term.
Latino Republicans defeated incumbent House Democrats. In Texas, Francisco Canseco beat Rep. Ciro Rodriguez. Jamie Herrera became the first Latino congressman from Washington state.
Opposition to President Barack Obama’s agenda fueled Tuesday’s GOP surge, and many also connected Obama to the rise of minority GOP candidates.
“Color is becoming less of an issue,” said Richard Ivory, a black Republican political consultant and founder of hiphoprepublican.com. “There was a time when the white electorate saw race first and made judgments based on this alone. While black Republicans and Obama disagree ideologically, both are candidates whose message surpassed pigment.”
Mark Sawyer, a UCLA professor and director of the university’s Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity and Politics, said Obama’s election pushed the GOP to adjust to a more diverse electorate by seeking out minority candidates.
But he noted that almost all the victorious GOP minorities were elected in majority-white areas and opposed measures such as comprehensive immigration reform that are favored by many Latinos and blacks.

Fox News tells all!
I’ll spare you the self-righteous, disingenuous drivel from behind the scenes at NPR (a/k/a “Commie Radio”) and cut to the chase:
RAW DATA: NPR Internal Memo on Juan Williams
(h/t: F)
We’re profoundly sorry that this happened during fundraising week. Juan’s comments were made Monday night and we did not feel it would be responsible to delay this action.
Notice that NPR President and CEO Vivian Schiller is not sorry that she used her position as head of a tax-supported organization to suppress legitimate political speech that took place elsewhere. Nor is she sorry for having punished Juan Williams for having told the truth.
She is merely sorry that NPR got caught with its pants down at an awkward moment, namely fundraising week. No doubt she is also sorry that the blogosphere has been reverberating the story everywhere.
Some apology.
Whether or not Juan Williams violated NPR’s policies is not the issue here. NPR determines its policies based on the demands of its hard-left and pro-Muslim constituency – federal government bureaucrats and elected officials, “charitable” foundations, and private donors such as George Soros. Its written policies are interpreted based on the demands of that same constituency. Thus, if one of NPR’s ‘journalists’ or ‘news analysts’ or what-have-you – particularly if that individual is a member of a minority group – strays one iota from the party line, even on his own time, out he goes, and that’s that.
Pull NPR off the public teat
No more US tax dollars should go to support such enemy propaganda. Programs with a hard-left, pro-jihadi slant are offensive to the majority of Americans, and are counter to the interests of anyone who is not an outright traitor to the US. By constantly suppressing any suggestion that Islam is dangerous, NPR gives aid and comfort to the enemies of the US and to the enemies of its (perhaps former) allies.
To make this happen, NPR, PBS, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and the National Endowment for the Arts must all be pulled from the federal teat, once and for all. They have a complicated shell game going, to conceal the extent to which they are being supported by your tax dollars. To prevent the shell game from continuing, all sources of government funding for NPR must be shut off.
We can do it!
The “dark side” will no doubt resort to some scare tactics about “killing Big Bird.” Don’t believe it! The private sector will ensure that the public can still watch or listen to any programs that people actually want, as opposed to those that the propagandists want to foist on us. If enough people still want to see Big Bird, then some other network and/or numerous local stations or cable channels will show Big Bird. Let the market decide, and let the beleaguered US taxpayers keep their money!

NPR fires Juan Williams for telling the truth
NPR Ends Williams’ Contract After Muslim Remarks
(h/t: Nevergiveup and gulfloafer)
by David Folkenflik
October 21, 2010 NPR News has terminated the contract of longtime news analyst Juan Williams after remarks he made on the Fox News Channel about Muslims.
Williams appeared Monday on The O’Reilly Factor, and host Bill O’Reilly asked him to comment on the idea that the U.S. is facing a dilemma with Muslims.
O’Reilly has been looking for support for his own remarks on a recent episode of ABC’s The View in which he directly blamed Muslims for the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. Co-hosts Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg walked off the set in the middle of his appearance.
Williams responded: “Look, Bill, I’m not a bigot. You know the kind of books I’ve written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.”
Williams also warned O’Reilly against blaming all Muslims for “extremists,” saying Christians shouldn’t be blamed for Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh.
Yahoo News has more:
…Williams often appears on Fox as the liberal counterpart to one of the network’s conservative hosts or guests. But some NPR listeners — an audience certainly more left-leaning than Fox’s conservative one — don’t see Williams as an advocate for progressive politics when he appears on the cable news network.
Last year, NPR ombudsman Alicia Shepard wrote that Williams had become a “lightning rod” among NPR’s staff and noted many complaints from listeners after an appearance on O’Reilly’s show.
Williams had described First Lady Michelle Obama as having a “Stokely Carmichael in a designer dress thing going,” a reference to the militant African-American activist. After those comments, NPR executives asked that NPR’s logo be removed when he appears on Fox News.
It can be expected that Fox hosts, especially O’Reilly, will have something to say about NPR’s decision.
[…]
Bernie Goldberg, a Fox News contributor and author of several books on what he describes as liberal media bias, offered his take Thursday morning in an email to The Upshot.
“So Juan Williams is fired for saying something the liberals at NPR find controversial?” Goldberg said. “One more piece of evidence that liberals have forgotten how to be liberal.”
Goldberg continued: “These are the kind of people who brag about how open-minded they are — as long as you agree with them. And here’s the dirty little secret: lots and lots of liberals feel the same way Juan does when they get on an airplane. And a lot of those liberals work at NPR. Juan’s ‘crime’ was saying it out loud.”
Weekly Standard Editor and Fox contributor Bill Kristol also had some choice words for NPR, which he dubbed “National Politically-correct Radio.” Kristol concluded a post about the firing by saying: “NPR — unfair, unbalanced … and afraid.”…
Yahoo News points out that NPR is being pressured by CAIR:
(h/t mjazz for pointing this out)
…The Council for American-Islamic Relations sent out a press release Wednesday afternoon calling on NPR to address the matter. Nihad Awad, the organization’s national executive director, called the comments “irresponsible and inflammatory” and said they “should not pass without action by NPR.”
They certainly didn’t. NPR took action Wednesday night and put out a statement regarding the severing of Williams’ contract: “His remarks on ‘The O’Reilly Factor’ this past Monday were inconsistent with our editorial standards and practices, and undermined his credibility as a news analyst with NPR.”…
Why does NPR hate Black People?
By doriangrey
…Now truth be told, as a conservative I find it distasteful to stand up for Juan Williams, because make no mistake about it, Juan is a liberal. However that said, as a conservative I find injustice even more disgusting than standing up for a liberal who has been unfairly treated and maligned. I usually disagree with Juan, however unlike most liberals I do find Juan to be an honest man with integrity, something quite rare in liberals.
To see one of the few genuinely honest intelligent and forthright liberals in America treated with such disrespect is more than I can bare and sit quietly by and watch. I have no choice but to rise in Juan’s defense and denounce in the harshest terms possible the politically correct demagoguery which led National Propaganda Radio to dismiss him. The management at NPR should be fired immediately and NPR defuned by congress and forced to become a regular for profit company having to defend it’s agenda in the commercial arena of idea’s alongside the conservative talk radio and radio news outlets.
The time has come for NPR to sink or swim in accordance to their merits in the market place of ideas.
It’s long past time to stop all taxpayer funding for the grotesquely biased NPR. If American members of the leftist/jihadist contingent still want to watch and listen, let them pay for it themselves through the infamous NPR subscription drives, a/k/a “beg-a-thons.” The rest of us should not be taxed for what amounts to enemy propaganda.
Oh, and by the way, the main telephone number for NPR is (202) 513-2000 and their fax number is (202) 513-3329. A contact form is here.
Hard-Left George Soros Front Organization Funds NPR
With Grant, NPR to Step Up State Government Reporting
(h/t: Michelle Malkin; thanks to eaglesoars for letting us know)
NPR has received a $1.8 million grant from the Open Society Foundations to begin a project called Impact of Government that is intended to add at least 100 journalists at NPR member radio stations in all 50 states over the next three years…
As eaglesoars points out: “The Open Society Foundation is, of course, George Soros.”

A change in Juan Williams?
I used to HATE seeing Juan Williams on Fox News. But recently, I’ve noticed he’s slowly become less and less proggy. I think, and hope, that one of those politically incorrect and now-prohibited incandescent light bulbs is starting to illuminate over his head.
I would also suggest that it is time to add Juan Williams to our prayer list. He needs the Lord’s help to give him wisdom, same as one hundred percent of the human race, myself included. But while he faces persecution for having told the truth, Juan Williams is in particular need of the Lord’s help.
