Breaking News: Wisconsin Judge stops Collective Bargaining Law

Judicial activism strikes again. Since the Left can’t when legislative battles, they win in the courts. A Dane County judge issued an amended ruling to stop the law from coming in effect. If this ruling is ignored, the violators will face sanctions.

MADISON, Wis.The contentious collective bargaining law, Wisconsin Act 10, which would strip most public workers of nearly all collective bargaining rights and force them to contribute more to their pension and health plans, is not in effect, according to an amended restraining order released on Thursday morning.

Dane County Circuit Judge Maryann Sumi made the amended ruling at 8:15 a.m. She has already issued an emergency order blocking Wisconsin’s secretary of state from publishing the law. Sumi called a hearing Tuesday to weigh District Attorney Ismael Ozanne’s lawsuit alleging Republican legislative leaders violated Wisconsin’s open meetings law during debate on the proposal.

Sumi re-issued her order on Tuesday — and this time she has warned that anyone who violates it will face sanctions. She amended the ruling on Thursday to read, “Further, based on the briefs of counsel, the uncontroverted testimony, and the evidence received at the March 29 evidentiary hearing, it is hereby declared that 2011 Wisconsin Act 10 has not been published …”

This is disgusting. This Judge is rewarding the Democrats for fleeing the state Senate. Judicial activism is a threat to our Republic. Anytime the Left doesn’t like a law, they get courts to throw it out.

I missed this little tidbit the other day, so maybe some of you guys did as well. Apparently the police and fire departments have decided to threaten the taxpayers of Wisconsin until they give in to the union thuggery.

Can you believe the nerve?!

This is exactly why they SHOULD NOT have collective bargaining for government employees- it holds our safety hostage to union demands! Crazy!

The Leiter Side of Union Thuggery

Last week, as the Wisconsin stalemate was coming to an end, we worried about the potential threat that unionized policemen, in “solidarity” with other unionized government employees, might tolerate or even participate in lawless behavior in order to undermine the workings of republican governance and preserve union privileges. Milwaukee radio host Charlie Sykes reports that Wisconsin businessmen are now receiving letters (pdf) importuning them to oppose Gov. Scott Walker’s efforts on behalf of Wisconsin’s taxpayers:

The undersigned groups would like your company to publicly oppose Governor Walker’s efforts to virtually eliminate collective bargaining for public employees in Wisconsin. While we appreciate that you may need some time to consider this request, we ask for your response by March 17. In the event that you do not respond to this request by that date, we will assume that you stand with Governor Walker and against the teachers, nurses, police officers, fire fighters, and other dedicated public employees who serve our communities.

Update:

I called the number on the letter and asked to speak with Jim Palmer. The lady said that he was in a meeting but she would be glad to take a message. I told her that maybe she could help, I was wondering if she could confirm that the letter sent to Wisconsin businesses about Governor Walker that was linked on Drudge had indeed been signed by Mr. Palmer…

Her response to me was: Yes, and he wasn’t the only one that signed it. There were many signatures.

Always Use A Secure Proxy If You Must Visit MoveOn.org

The hard-left MoveOn.org site, funded by the infamous George Soros, will stealthily collect and misuse your IP address. In this instance, the site is falsely using your IP address to inflate a signature count on behalf of their efforts to shill for the public employee unions. What else MoveOn.org may be doing, or planning to do, with your IP address and your computer, is anybody’s guess.

If you want to visit MoveOn.org in order to keep tabs on what our enemies are up to, be sure to go through a secure proxy service, as Velvethammer did here:

Thanks to AMORC11 of ‘Another Day at the Foundry’ there is solid proof that MoveOn.org is capturing IP’s, an underhanded dirty trick to fraudulently gather signatures of support for their “50-State Mobilization to Save the American Dream”.

Here is a screenshot I took after having accessed the same page going in through http://anonymouse.org. As you can see, since my IP address was hidden I was not forced into signing their letter without my consent.

The text of the letter “50-State Mobilization to Save the American Dream” MoveOn.org is tricking people into signing.

In Wisconsin and around our country, the American Dream is under fierce attack. Instead of creating jobs, Republicans are giving tax breaks to corporations and the very rich and then cutting funding for education, police, emergency response and vital human services. The right to organize is on the chopping block. The American Dream is slipping out of reach for more and more Americans, and we have to fight back.

Can you add your endorsement to the call for emergency rallies in front of every statehouse this Saturday at 12 Noon to stand in solidarity with the people of Wisconsin? We must demand an end to the attacks on workers’ rights and public services across the country. Demand investment, to create decent jobs for the millions of people who desperately want to work. And demand that the rich and powerful pay their fair share.
You can add your name and endorse the call for emergency rallies by following this link:

Thanks!

As we have learned in light of the union protest in Wisconsin, public employee and their unions have the power to bring government to its knees. And their comrades at MoveOn.org are perfectly willing to stoop to any level to come to their aid. Whatever it takes, the ends [will] always justify their means.

MoveOn.org is as anti-American as it gets. So it should come as no shock that they and Obama are thick as thieves

An email to Governor Scott Walker and the Wisconsin Republicans

This has to be shared and read by everyone. Newsradio 620WTMJ in Milwaukee has obtained an email from someone and the FBI is investigating.

MADISON – The State Department of Justice confirms that it is investigating several death threats against a number of lawmakers in response to the legislature’s move to strip employees of many collective bargaining rights.

Among the threats the Justice Department is investigationg is one that was emailed to Republican Senators Wednesday night. Newsradio 620 WTMJ has obtained that email.

The following is the unedited email:

Please put your things in order because you will be killed and your familes will also be killed due to your actions in the last 8 weeks. Please explain to them that this is because if we get rid of you and your families then it will save the rights of 300,000 people and also be able to close the deficit that you have created. I hope you have a good time in hell. Read below for more information on possible scenarios in which you will die.

WE want to make this perfectly clear. Because of your actions today and in the past couple of weeks I and the group of people that are working with me have decided that we’ve had enough. We feel that you and the people that support the dictator have to die. We have tried many other ways of dealing with your corruption but you have taken things too far and we will not stand for it any longer. So, this is how it’s going to happen: I as well as many others know where you and your family live, it’s a matter of public records.

We have all planned to assult you by arriving at your house and putting a nice little bullet in your head. However, we decided that we wouldn’t leave it there. We also have decided that this may not be enough to send the message to you since you are so “high” on Koch and have decided that you are now going to single handedly make this a dictatorship instead of a demorcratic process. So we have also built several bombs that we have placed in various locations around the areas in which we know that you frequent. This includes, your house, your car, the state capitol, and well I won’t tell you all of them because that’s just no fun. Since we know that you are not smart enough to figure out why this is happening to you we have decided to make it perfectly clear to you. If you and your goonies feel that it’s necessary to strip the rights of 300,000 people and ruin their lives, making them unable to feed, clothe, and provide the necessities to their families and themselves then We Will “get rid of” (in which I mean kill) you. Please understand that this does not include the heroic Rep. Senator that risked everything to go aganist what you and your goonies wanted him to do. We feel that it’s worth our lives to do this, because we would be saving the lives of 300,000 people. Please make your peace with God as soon as possible and say goodbye to your loved ones we will not wait any longer. YOU WILL DIE!!!!
