Libraries Are Banning Books Regarding Homosexuality

The mandate of most schools is to provide the most information available on a topic to their students, so as to provide a wide range of ideas on any given subject, to ensure the student receives a well rounded and full education (or at least it should be).  In practice however this usually never the case as political correctness, and liberal emotional sensibilities usually get in the way.  This is even more so true when it comes to Leftist pet-projects like Homosexuality.

With the increasing influx of new information, and personal stories, emerging on the reality of homosexuality which goes against the conditioned general understandings, Leftists are finding effective ways of shutting down all debate on the subject, and further ensuring that only their emotional understanding on the concept of homosexuality can be taught or held.  To ensure that no actual debate takes place, and the students aren’t allowed to have a differing opinion on this subject, they are banning books.

Visit most public school libraries and you’ll find an array of books that address the subject of homosexuality. Many include sexually explicit content, and some even include graphic images.

But if you’re looking for a book that refers to the possibility that homosexuality can be “reversed,” a Chicago-based group says your best bet is the banned books list.

Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays (PFOX) says there’s an entire community of people across the world who say that their sexual orientation changed from gay to straight. But they’re not getting their message out, the group says, because libraries across the country refuse to carry literature that describes these experiences or any studies that support them.

{The Article}

Despite the Left’s claim of being “liberals”, and the vanguard of a liaise fair attitude toward lifestyle choices, and free speech this is rarely the case in reality – especially when it comes to one of their pet racial, class, or gender groups.

Although only the “right-wing Christian Conservatives” get the negative press, and thus bad reputation for “attempting to control society”, and banish any “sin” from the commonplace of ideas it is often the Left who most resembles what the “right-wing” is accused of.  This is simply just another example!

The same Leftists that are so set against a personal story from an actual “ex-homosexual”, have absolutely no problem with providing explicit sexual books to these same students.  Even further exposing the hypocrisy of the Left, it isn’t hard to imagine what the response of the crusaders of political correctness would be if instead the situation was flipped and it was the Right which was attempting to ban books for this explicit sexual nature.

So much for intellectual freedom – political correctness is paramount!

Why conservatives should care about the campaign finance reform issue

So hot it sizzles. (Well, ok, maybe not….)

I’ve discussed before the fact that the Left is basically a knowledge-control cult. The Left hates the free flow of information. This is why they want to kill talk radio. It’s why they want to hand control of the internet to Obama and some Czar that he gets to appoint without the advice and consent of Congress. This is why they cooked up the idiotic idea of having an email address that the leftist ground troops could use to “snitch” on people who aren’t on board with the Democrats’ efforts to destroy our health care system. Campaign finance reform is just another link in that chain. If the government gets to control the flow of money to political parties, then the government gets to control the flow and direction of political discourse. Wrong ideas? No money.

Ironically, this would serve to actually make the government less responsive to the will of the people, not more so. Think about what it would be like it there was no credible political opposition to the government because it has been defunded, and any independent attempts to get the word out via any type of media are criminalized. Consider where we’d be if the Left got its way, and there was no outlet for the millions of Americans who, for instance, oppose the attempt to impose health care “reform” onto us. You’d have the government “doing something,” but the will of the people — as has been repeatedly expressed through everything from polls to town halls — would be completely shut out. That’s what the Left would like to see happen. That’s why the Democrats and their activist groups are so incensed that conservative groups are allowed to publicly debunk all the lies that the leftists are telling us about their health care plans. With the sort of campaign finance scheme they’d like to see put into place, they’d have free run of the marketplace of ideas by default. However, it would no longer be a marketplace, but an echo chamber. In short, the leftists who want public control of election financing are really angling to see a one-party system established — by their party — if it were possible. And consider how responsive to the will of the people one-party systems usually are, which is to say, not at all.

Obama Advocacy Site Calls People Who Oppose Obama “Domestic Terrorists”

Another day, another new low by the kook-wacko Left.  This time around, a “call for action” issued on the advocacy site Organizing for America, started at the behest of Barack Obama, urges people to “fight back” against our “right-wing domestic terrorists”,

President Obama’s grassroots advocacy group is coming under fire for a supporter who pulled the Sept. 11 attacks into the health care debate.

The controversy stems from a notice on the Organizing for America Web site urging reform advocates to use the anniversary of the terror attacks to call on lawmakers to pass health care reform.

“All 50 states are coordinating in this — as we fight back against our own Right-Wing Domestic Terrorists who are subverting the American Democratic process, whipped to a frenzy by their Fox Propaganda Network ceaselessly re-seizing power for their treacherous leaders,” the notice said in part. It has since been scrubbed from the Organizing for America site.

Following criticism from the conservative Heritage Foundation, a spokesman for the Democratic National Committee told FOX News in a statement that anyone can post on the site and condemned the language.

“We certainly don’t agree with these comments, nor do we condone them, just as I’m sure the Heritage Foundation or FOX don’t agree or condone some of the things posted in sections of their Web site,” the statement said.

But the Heritage Foundation’s Rory Cooper said the call to action was actively distributed

This was distributed to people in Illinois, Michigan and North Carolina. So yeah, the original posting was just an independent person who went too far. But when Organizing for America took the next step and invited people to the event, they became complicit in the language,” Cooper said.

Cooper criticized Obama for pushing his message through both the official White House Web site and Organizing for America’s BarackObama.com

It’s interesting, really, to see just how insane the Left becomes when they are challenged.  It sort of puts the gulags and unaccountable “administrative courts” of the Soviet Union into perspective.  That’s the way the Left views things – dissent it patriotic when they do, but its subversive and terrorism when somebody else does it.  Retirees showing up at town halls and giving their ELECTED representatives the business are worse than al-Qaeda.  It’s rather scary that we have an administration willing to allow its name to be put on this kind of rubbish.  It’s rather scary that this administration’s “Green Jobs” Czar is a racist buffoon who thinks 9-11 was a Republican campaign ad.  It’s rather scary that this administration apparent thought it was acceptable to set up a website so people could “snitch” on their neighbours for holding the wrong political viewpoints, 1938-style.  It’s rather scary that this administration has an Attorney General who thinks our own CIA is more of a threat to us than Islamofascist terrorists.  It’s rather scary that we have an administration that is dead set on developing any more energy resources in America, but freely hands out billions to Brazil to develop theirs.  It’s rather scary that we have an administration that is setting up a system for harvesting personal data from social networking sites.

The crazy is strong with this administration, no doubt about it.
