The US owes more than the entire planet can pay back!

by 1389AD ( 62 Comments › )

Get ready for some high-octane nightmare fuel!

The warning in the title comes from Mark Steyn, who has repeatedly expounded upon the perils of sovereign debt. We owe so much that the entire planet does, indeed, have a serious problem.

As if all that were not enough, the oft-quoted figure of $16 trillion federal debt is deeply understated because it does not include the unfunded Medicare, Medicare Prescription Drug Program, Social Security, military and civil servant pensions that the federal government has promised to provide. The total is beyond anything we can imagine without some innovative graphical visualizations.

Oh, and by the way…
The above visualization does not even include the horrific levels of state and local governmental debt, as well as unfunded pension liabilities at the state and local level, not to mention the private sector.
Sick smiley with fever
I have never claimed to be a prophet. That said, I had some horrifically high fevers as a small child, and they produced some of the worst dreams anyone can have. I remember one of them. Through no actions of my own, I owed an exponentially increasing amount of money. As the debt rocketed toward infinity, an angry mob pressed ever closer, clamoring for the money and struggling to get its hands on me.

I never found out what happened after that…

Uploaded by SDAMatt2a on Mar 14, 2012

While Dick Cheney may be too afraid to enter Canada, bestselling author Mark Steyn will be taking to the stage as a replacement with ‘Steynamite’, where Steyn will be taking his fearless brand of commentary and analysis to the stage for Torontonians to hear.

Ryan Ruppert, president of Spectre Live and organizer for the Cheney event said, “While we are disheartened that the Cheneys do not feel comfortable coming to Canada, we are gratified that our own Mark Steyn will not be intimidated either by protestors or government censors.” He added, “On April 24th, Mark will exercise his freedom of expression at the Metro Convention Centre with bestselling author Michael Coren.”

Tickets are available with discounted prices for earlybirds at Spectre Live’s Steynamite page.

What’s a Keynesian, anyway?

Voters and taxpayers need to know why Keynesian economics is EPIC FAIL. Obama’s “stimulus” left us with a huge deficit and did NOT restart the economy.

“Fear the Boom and Bust” a Hayek vs. Keynes Rap Anthem

Econstories.tv is a place to learn about the economic way of thinking through the eyes of creative director John Papola and creative economist Russ Roberts.

In Fear the Boom and Bust, John Maynard Keynes and F. A. Hayek, two of the great economists of the 20th century, come back to life to attend an economics conference on the economic crisis. Before the conference begins, and at the insistence of Lord Keynes, they go out for a night on the town and sing about why there’s a “boom and bust” cycle in modern economies and good reason to fear it.

Fight of the Century: Keynes vs Hayek Round 2

Uploaded by on Apr 27, 2011

“Fight of the Century” is the new economics hip-hop music video by John Papola and Russ Roberts at http://EconStories.tv.

According to the National Bureau of Economic Research, the Great Recession ended almost two years ago, in the summer of 2009. Yet we’re all uneasy. Job growth has been disappointing. The recovery seems fragile. Where should we head from here? Is that question even meaningful? Can the government steer the economy or have past attempts helped create the mess we’re still in?

In “Fight of the Century”, Keynes and Hayek weigh in on these central questions. Do we need more government spending or less? What’s the evidence that government spending promotes prosperity in troubled times? Can war or natural disasters paradoxically be good for an economy in a slump? Should more spending come from the top down or from the bottom up? What are the ultimate sources of prosperity?

Keynes and Hayek never agreed on the answers to these questions and they still don’t. Let’s listen to the greats. See Keynes and Hayek throwing down in “Fight of the Century”!

Starring Billy and Adam from http://www.billyandadam.com

The next video describes Keynesianism from Keynes’ own point of view:

Keynesianism Part I – It’s All About Spending

Uploaded by on Oct 24, 2010

Is our prosperity derived from a continual circular flow of spending? Is it impossible for a society to increase it’s total savings? Can deficit spending by a government step in to replace private activity in order to maintain full employment and restore lasting economic growth? What is a liquidity trap and what does it mean for the economy? What did Keynes really mean by “in the long run, we’re all dead”?

In this EconStories mini-documentary, we explore the foundations of Keynesian economics with Keynes most famed biography, Lord Robert Skidelsky.

In the next episode, we’ll dig deeper into some of the most controversial aspects of Keynesianism including the notion that ditch digging or world war could provide a pathway to economic recovery and prosperity.

Ezra Levant Kicks Margie Gillis In The Interpretive Dance

Uploaded by blazingcatfur on Aug 12, 2011

Ezra rages against the Canadian Broadcast Standards Association and the campaign by tax payer parasite Margie Gillis to censor SunTV.

THE INTERVIEW AND THE BACKLASH (READ MARGIE GILLIS’ INSTRUCTIONS FOR VENGEANCE):

Sun News Interview with Margie Gillis – part 1

Sun News Interview with Margie Gillis – part 1

Hello Margie Gillis and friends…..

“Done the best for my country”……stop waving the flag, you are nothing but a glorified panhandler….there is no difference between you and some pesky wino following me down the street whining about his lot in life and how it deserves to be lifted by a small “donation”..

“A Canadian Dance Icon”……[expletive deleted]….aren’t we laying it on a little thick there Margie???…….suffering from the delusional stage of Alzheimer’s now are we????…..well perhaps you can join Margaret Trudeau, another “Canadian Icon” and picker of the Canadian taxpayers’ pocket (my my my…won’t you two have a lot to talk about), as she slides not so gracefully into old age dabbling in recreational pharmaceuticals and drunken driving…….nothing like the blather and flatulent ramblings of an old woman, suffering the debilitating effects of a terminal case of O.L.B.S. (Old Liberal Broad Syndrome), to give the hard working taxpayers of Canada a severe case of indigestion.

I watched the interview you gave you shameless old con artist, set off my gag reflex more times than Margaret Trudeau has been ridden by rock stars ….but Margie dearest, the winds of change are blowing…soon your “funding” will be cut and you will be relegated to your rightful place: giving interpretive dance lessons to the other “Les Connaisseurs De La Sous Le Pont”…..where, holding your bleary eyed audience spellbound and breathless in anticipation, you can regale them with wild tales of your glory days spent dipping into the Public Purse.

Later Margie, you master gourmand you, you can brew up a pot of “Souris avec des fèves au lard” and then, making the evening complete….the spectacular, Rat et le pigeon flambé ….all whilst sipping Listerine cocktails ‘neath Le Pont Mercier……….bathed in the glow of your faded youth and Montreal at night……a fitting end to your parasitic career.

I am so very very very glad the long run of the Liberals is over…..soon you and yours will only be a bad memory….a frightening tale I tell my grandchildren…….“Gather round kiddies and let me tell you about Margie Gillis and her 1.2 million dollars”……..”Oh No Grandpa…..you’ll frighten the kids!!!!!”…..

THIN SKINNED SENATOR JIM MUNSON AND HIS BARREL OF PORK

To Margie Gillis et. al.:

Hello there….its me…..again….

I am forwarding a response to my email “The Panhandling Dancer”………it comes from Canadian Senator Jim Munson.
(see his response below)

Senator Munson, in his role as senator (“Senator”…the very definition of parasitic) feels that my objection to Margie Gillis’ picking the pockets of Canadian taxpayers can be classified as “You are very sick” and “You understand nothing”

Well Senator Munson, after a lifetime spent in the profession of “reality twisting” and “politically correct manipulation of fact” (mainstream Canadian media) you really hit the jackpot when old “Mumbles Chrétien”, the “Swindler from Shawinigan”, in appointing you senator….gave you your very own barrel of pork. And now, as a senator, and just like Margie Gillis, at taxpayers expense, you spend your days vigorously polishing a chaise lounge with your ass…….. I “understand” that very clearly.

But I digress……

You see Munson……there is a difference between me and you….its called reality…..I understand that when a person receives 1.2 million dollars in Public funding for “interpretive dance”, a pursuit that can, at best, be described as the imitation of epileptic rodenti, and, at worst, the quintessential definition of “artsy-fartsy”, its glorified welfare, plain and simple…….so please, in the future, refrain from the sport of Liberal politicians and mainstream media……”Pissing on the public and then telling them its raining”

In closing Senator Munson…..and please forgive my profanity…..why don’t you seek Public funding for something that, as a Canadian senator and politician, you would be eminently qualified for…..”Interpretive Dog-F***ing”………

Hugs and Kisses….

Regards, Don Laird
