Crossing The Line: The Intifada Comes To Campus

As most of us here already know, the true bigots and anti-Semites are on the left. You know, those understanding, tolerant and all-caring liberals/progressives. Yeah right. Piss on those scumbags. Most college campuses are nothing but places of intolerance, ignorance and anti-Semitism, where it’s not only okay to attack Israel and call for its destruction, but downright “chic”.

But just don’t protest the worldwide jihad the muslims are committing on a daily basis against Christians and Jews, and followers of other religions or no religion at all. Here’s a 6 minute video from some of our institutions of higher “learning”, along with a viewing guide-

VIEWING GUIDE

Shaping the World

College is a time for social action, student protest and the formulation of ideas and worldviews; a time to broaden one’s mind and for students to begin to shape the world they live in. In North America, college students have been instrumental in some of the biggest protest movements of the 20th Century, including the fight to end the Vietnam War, Women’s Rights and the Civil Rights Movement. Today, the activism continues with students fighting against the genocides in Tibet and Darfur and the war in Iraq.

Anti-Israel or Anti-Semitic?

There is one issue that seems to evoke more hostility then any other – Israel. Israel’s Operation Cast Lead at the close of 2008 evoked feelings of resentment and hatred from people throughout the world. There was something “different” about the protests that this war sparked as the line between anti-Israel policy and anti-Semitism became blurred. These protests weren’t just against Israel but also against the Jewish People. Around the world, synagogues and Jewish graves were desecrated and anti-Semitic chants were shouted at protests – even on the streets of America.

The Obama–CodePink–Hamas–Muslim Brotherhood Connection

In a recent post on The Blogmocracy (Bernardine Dohrn & William Ayers vs Egypt), we discussed Obama pals Bernardine Dohrn & William Ayers and their newest mischief against Israel.

Dohrn and Ayers went to Egypt with “Code Pink” and others to try to stage a march into Gaza to try to force Israel and Egypt to open their borders with Gaza. In Caroline Glick’s article “Code Red on Code Pink,” she described Egypt’s reaction to the group:

Led by Code Pink founder and California Democratic fund-raiser Jodie Evans, the demonstrators were not welcomed by Egyptian authorities. Many were surrounded by riot police and barbed wire as they demonstrated outside the US and French embassies and the UN Development Program’s headquarters.

Bernardine Dorhn blamed Egypt’s response to their campaign as being Israel’s fault, but Caroline Glick describes Egypt’s reaction to this group later in her article:

the Egyptian authorities’ actions were clearly informed by their understanding that, with their ties to Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, Hizbullah, Syria and Iran, Code Pink and its friends are active collaborators with the jihad war machine.

Code Pink and their friends also have ties to the White House:

Code Pink, for instance, is welcome at the Obama White House. Its leader Evans was an official fund-raiser for Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. Evans visited the White House after travelling to Gaza last June. While there she met with Hamas leaders who gave her a letter for Obama. Evans met Obama himself at a donor dinner in San Francisco last October where, while standing in front of cameras, she gave him documents she received in Afghanistan, where she met with Taliban officials.

Then, too, among the board members of the Free Gaza movement is former US senator James Abourezk. Abourezk is reputedly close to Obama and according to knowledgeable sources has been a key figure in shaping Obama’s policy towards Israel.

Then, too, like Evans, Dohrn and her husband, Ayres, are also friendly with the president of the United States. Dohrn and Ayres have been Obama’s political patrons since he launched his first campaign for the Illinois state Senate in 1996. In White House visitors’ logs, Ayres is listed as having twice visited the building since Obama’s inauguration.

The text of the letter from Hamas that Code Pink delivered to Obama in June 2009 is here: CODEPINK delivers peace letter from Hamas to Obama

Carl in Jerusalem wrote on his blog on January 13, 2010:

It seems that President Obama’s friends at Code Pink were protected by Hamas in Gaza, and have paid protection money both to Hamas and to Obama.

How deep are the ties between the so-called antiwar group Code Pink and the terrorist group Hamas? Deep enough that Hamas guaranteed Code Pink’s safety when the group led an international delegation of anti-Israel leftists to Gaza in late December for the ‘Gaza Freedom March.’

Code Pink claims to have delivered “tens of thousands of dollars in humanitarian aid” to Hamas-controlled Gaza to protest a blockade of the terrorist enclave by the civilized world.

Before Code Pink departed for Egypt where the march was based, co-founder Medea Benjamin told the Western Massachusetts publication The Reminder that Hamas “has pledged to ensure our safety.”

Code Pink was co-founded by Jodie Evans, a top donor and fundraiser for President Barack Obama. Jodie Evans has maintained close ties with Obama and his administration throughout the first year of Obama’s term in office, including two visits to the White House in June just days after a previous Code Pink trip to Gaza where they were given a letter from Hamas to deliver to Obama….

When the pressure starts from Obama for Israel to negotiate with Hamas, you’ll know where it’s coming from.

As if the ties between Code Pink and friends with Obama’s White House and Hamas weren’t disturbing enough, Code Pink also has ties with the Muslim Brotherhood:

Code Pink To Muslims: ‘Help Us Cleanse Our Country’ by Nancy Morgan

As Americans keep a wary eye on Muslim radicals in Yemen, little attention is being given to a far more dangerous enemy right in our own backyard. Under the banner of ‘anti-war’ activism, the radical group Code Pink is running banner advertisements on the English language version of the official Web site of a terrorist sympathizing group, the Muslim Brotherhood, one of which invites the Muslim Brotherhood to “join us in cleansing our country.”

The ad is entitled ‘Arrest The War Criminals.’ Only problem is, Code Pink believes the war criminals are none other than George W. Bush and Co. And they’re actively recruiting radical Muslim terrorists to help them in their cause.

A link on the ad goes to a web site that actually calls for the kidnapping of former President George W. Bush, his wife Laura, his family, and various former administration officials. To date, not a peep has been heard from the Secret Service.

Maybe that’s because Jodie Evans, the co-founder of Code Pink was a top fundraiser for Barack Obama. Or maybe not.

This isn’t the first time the rabid feminist anti-war group has had amicable ties with terrorists. As Andrew Breitbart’s Big Government reports:

“The Muslim Brotherhood published a statement by Code Pink issued in May to promote Code Pink’s trip to Gaza that month. In December, the Muslim Brotherhood published an open letter to Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak by Code Pink and the Gaza Freedom March decrying the Egyptian government’s refusal to allow the group passage into Gaza.”

If you’re under the mistaken impression that the Muslim Brotherhood is a benign member of the ‘religion of peace,’ you might want to get the straight poop from David Horowitz’s Discover the Networks. Here.

Once again, yet another radical group is discovered to have close ties to President Obama. Yawn.

We also have a group of American citizens actively rallying jihadists and encouraging them to commit war crimes. Hey, I can hardly keep my eyes open.

Most alarming however is the absolute media silence.Well, they’re not actually silent. They are otherwise engaged in the life and death debate over how many times Harry Reid should apologize for his sin of speaking the truth about race.

The media ‘watchdogs’ are asleep and the ones we trust to protect us are instead offering aid and comfort to our enemies when they’re not prosecuting Navy Seals, CIA officials and anyone else whose job is to keep America safe. What’s wrong with this picture?

Kudo’s to The Jawa Report for being the first to report on this situation. Hopefully they won’t be the last.

So there are ties (including financial ties) between the President of the United States Barack Obama and a radical left wing group (Code Pink) that pays protection money to Hamas and delivers letters from Hamas directly to the White House WHILE ALSO rallying and encouraging jihadists to commit war crimes against former President of the United States George W. Bush, his family, and various former administration officials.

Code Pink does all this as part of Code Pink’s virulent anti-America and anti-Israel agenda.

What’s wrong with this picture, indeed?

The Cultural Revolution Comes to U-Minn Twin Cities

You know how conservatives have been complaining that college campuses are often little more than thought-suppressing propaganda mills for the Left, where political correctness is used to control the expression, and even the minds, of students?  It really, really looks like we weren’t kidding,

Do you believe in the American dream — the idea that in this country, hardworking people of every race, color and creed can get ahead on their own merits? If so, that belief may soon bar you from getting a license to teach in Minnesota public schools — at least if you plan to get your teaching degree at the University of Minnesota’s Twin Cities campus.

In a report compiled last summer, the Race, Culture, Class and Gender Task Group at the U’s College of Education and Human Development recommended that aspiring teachers there must repudiate the notion of “the American Dream” in order to obtain the recommendation for licensure required by the Minnesota Board of Teaching. Instead, teacher candidates must embrace — and be prepared to teach our state’s kids — the task force’s own vision of America as an oppressive hellhole: racist, sexist and homophobic.

The task group is part of the Teacher Education Redesign Initiative, a multiyear project to change the way future teachers are trained at the U’s flagship campus. The initiative is premised, in part, on the conviction that Minnesota teachers’ lack of “cultural competence” contributes to the poor academic performance of the state’s minority students. Last spring, it charged the task group with coming up with recommendations to change this. In January, planners will review the recommendations and decide how to proceed.

The report advocates making race, class and gender politics the “overarching framework” for all teaching courses at the U. It calls for evaluating future teachers in both coursework and practice teaching based on their willingness to fall into ideological lockstep.

The first step toward “cultural competence,” says the task group, is for future teachers to recognize — and confess — their own bigotry. Anyone familiar with the reeducation camps of China’s Cultural Revolution will recognize the modus operandi.

You know, the only thing missing from all of this is a down-ding button.

Liberal elitists aren’t elite

Great editorial by Mike Rosen in which he points out that the pretentions of those on the Left are divorced from reality,

When it suits their purposes and advances their political agenda, liberals are unabashedly elitist. Nonetheless, they recoil from that term when conservatives label them as such. Their reasoning is positively schizophrenic, confusing private behavior with public policy.

A true elite is one whose talents place him, objectively, at or among the top in his field. Tiger Woods is an elite golfer, in fact, the best in the world. Albert Einstein was an elite scientist, a genius. Michelangelo, an elite artist. An “elitist,” on the other hand, is one who is not necessarily talented or brilliant but who simply regards himself as such, and who would subordinate others to his will.

Al Gore, for example, is certainly not an elite scientist. In fact, he’s not a scientist at all. He’s not a physicist, climatologist or meteorologist. He’s a politician, and when it comes to the highly debatable subject of climate change, he’s just a guy with an opinion. As an advocate for a doomsday version of the theory of human-induced global warming, he selectively and misleadingly brokers the work of actual scientists and other polemicists in this field. To the extent that Gore would dictate how people, businesses and governments behave in the course of imposing environmental and economic policies, he’s a pretentious elitist in the worst sense of that term.

[snip]

One liberal pontificated that he wants only the “best and the brightest” in government to “run our country.” I suspect he and I would disagree about who the best and brightest are and what qualities earn them that distinction. My list certainly wouldn’t include Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Barack Obama, to whom I don’t defer as my intellectual superiors. His list probably wouldn’t include Ronald Reagan. Moreover, I don’t want government or politicians to “run our country.” That’s a statist view. The state is not society; it’s a subset of society. It’s the height of pretentious elitism to believe that any panel of bureaucrats is smart enough to “run” our intricate market economy. The Soviets tried that.

Exactly.  One thing that always strikes me about the so-called elite is how singularly and uniformly incompetent they tend to be.  This is especially true with respect to the issue of climate change.  Indeed, it can be taken as a truism that the more sure a person is about the “truth” of anthropogenic global warming, the less that person actually knows about the science involved.

There are two main reasons why people are leftists: they want somebody to take care of them (if they are in the vast mass of useful idiots propping up the ideology) or they want to control other people.  It is those in the latter group who generally tend to think of themselves as “elite,” though the vast mass generally tends to be conned into thinking the same thing about those few at the top.  I’ve literally had people tell me at great length about how intelligent and wise Obama is.  Meanwhile, I’m sitting there wondering if they’re referring to the same Obama that I’m thinking of?

After all, the real Obama can’t even say more than two sentences in public without the aid of a teleprompter.  The real Obama can’t even make a decision about Afghanistan while our troops are dying from the idiotic rules of engagement that his administration has saddled them with.   The real Obama can’t even write his own book, but had to have another leftist write it for him (and that was poorly done too, I might add.  I mean, I’m not an elite, but at least I wrote my own book all by my little ol’ self, and did all my own research, too.

Elitism is uniquely a product of collectivist thinking.  Elitism presupposes the existence of hierarchy within group interactions, and the top of that hierarchy is filled by those who have managed to impose themselves upon those below them, though usually not for objectively meritorious reasons.  Typically, advancement in a collective setting involves reward for conformity to the group ideals.  If those ideals are bad, or make no sense, then the result is that those who advance the furthest because they are the most zealous or effective at promoting those ideals tend to be people who are not, in the wider sense, as foresighted, wise, or munificent in their dealings outside the particular group setting.  This is why tone-deaf party hacks tend to be the ones who rise to the top in political parties.  This is why top bureaucrats tend to be those most effective at stonewalling and protecting the interests of the bureaucracy as a body, even if efficient service to the customer is lacking (and this is true in both the public and private sectors, by the way).  This is why dictatorial systems inevitably end up being so vicious and cruel – those who are best at punishing non-conformists end up reaching the highest offices.

Ironically, individuals who don’t feel the need to impose themselves onto others generally tend to be more individually meritorious than those who prosper within collectivist, leftist systems.

This explains the sea change in American governance that has occurred over the last 60 years.  When our nation was founded, it was founded by men who had individually excelled in their fields, and who did not require government intervention to prop them up, nor did they desire to intervene in the lives of others so as to induce their dependence.  Starting with the Great Depression, however, the shift in attitude on the part of those in political power was that the common man was too incapable to provide for himself, so the government would provide for him.  Of course, the first failure of the outflowing of efforts on that part was the prolonging of the Great Depression by several years, to be ended only by the artificial economic injection provided by World War II.  Since then, the elitist attitude has given us a failed War on Poverty, and any number of “deals” which have fallen through.  In turn, our government has largely been filled by those who cannot think for themselves, and who are primarily interested in maintaining and advancing the bureaucratic systems in place.  “Intelligence” and “capability” are no longer measured in terms of individual merit,  but in terms of “a willingness to perpetuate the welfare state,” which makes a mockery out of what those terms really mean.

Hence, the drive to socialise our health care system, even though there are any number of market-based reforms that could be put into place instead, and that have the added advantage that they would actually work.   But they wouldn’t increase the power of an elite that needs to validate itself by inducing dependence in the expanding underclass.

The “elite” in this country are afraid of individual initiative.  This is because individual initiative refutes the “need” for an elite, and would bring to the fore individuals whose talents and capacities far exceed the “elite” like Pelosi, Reid, Obama, Gore, Frank, and the rest.
