Voices From Around The World The Media Missed

When George W. Bush or his administration visited a foreign country, the news feeds were flooded with pictures and articles regarding the Anti-Bush protests and other similar stories to create a feeling that there was an Anti-Americanism being fanned across the World because of Bush’s policies.

Although there might be a valid argument for that point-of-view (one I cannot verify or reject insofar that I must rely on the news), the way that the mainstream media handles Obama and his administration’s visits to foreign nations (and in general) evidences the media bias, and the power the media has to shape the story, and thus the public’s response, and therefore the future.   The election of President Barack Hussein Obama made that very evident.

Below are pictures from Obama’s trip across the world, and those of his administration that you wouldn’t have seen otherwise.  (place cursor over picture for description)

Turkey

Demonstrators hold an anti-U.S. President Barack Obama placard during protests in downtown Ankara April 6, 2009. Obama is visiting Turkey on the last leg of an eight-day trip that marks his debut as president on the world stage, is a recognition of the secular but predominantly Muslim country's growing clout and Washington's desire for its help to solve confrontations and conflicts from Iran to Afghanistan.'Halkin Kurtulus Partisi' reads as People's Independence Party.

A woman protests while holding a banner reading "Obama, dont come to Turkey" during a demonstration in Istanbul on April 6, 2009. Barack Obama, seeking to boost ties with a key Muslim ally, firmly backed Turkey's bid to join the EU and tread carefully on Armenia's decades-old claims of genocide.

Demonstrators shout anti-U.S President Barack Obama slogans during a protest in Istanbul April 7, 2009. Obama is on the last leg of his debut trip on the world stage as president. He is trying to rebuild ties with Muslims after anger at the invasion of Iraq and war in Afghanistan, made more urgent by a strengthening al Qaeda and Taliban insurgency.

Indonesia

Students shout 'God is Great' during a rally against the visit of U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to Indonesia at Jakarta's presidential palace February 18, 2009. Clinton arrived in Indonesia on Wednesday for a goodwill visit to the world's most populous Muslim nation, where President Barack Obama is a popular figure, despite some anti-U.S. protests.

.

England

A demonstrator holds a placard with the words 'Obama kiss my toxic assets' during the "Put People First" march through central London, on March 28, 2009. Tens of thousands of trade unionists, environmental campaigners and anti-globalisation activists took to the streets of London on Saturday to start five days of protests before the G20 summit.

SPAIN

A man wearing a mask resembling US President Barack Obama holds a placard reading "Crisis? Calm down, there is nothing wrong" in front of the Finance Ministry in Madrid on March 28, 2009, during a demonstration as part of a day of protests ahead of the G20 summit to be held in London on April 2, 2009 .US Vice President Joe Biden called for tens of thousands of protesters already on the streets of Europe ahead of a G20 summit next week to give governments a chance to tackle the economic crisis.

Obama’s “No Nukes” Idea Is Not Realistic

Obama has now discussed getting rid of all Nuclear weapons from the planet. But that’s a pipe dream. As this article points out, many like North Korea will not abide by this.

Barack Obama can’t make rogues like North Korea play by his rules

So the White House got its headlines: “Obama promises nuclear-free world”; “Obama: ‘We will put an end to nuclear weapons’.” Yes sir, this guy is good. Barack Obama “promised” what it was not in his power to deliver and everybody believed him.

Does he (or anybody else) really think he can persuade India and Pakistan to give up their beloved nuclear capability while they glare at each other over an ever more hostile and terrifying border?

Obama is your typical naive globalist. This is why I detest Globalism whether the Leftists or Corporatist type. America must keep its Nukes. It’s the ultimate deterrent.

Obama doesn’t let Banks payback TARP

I agree with this opinion totally. Obama is rejecting TARP paybacks so he has a say in the Bank’s businesses. This is Totalitarian in nature.

Obama Wants to Control the Banks

I must be naive. I really thought the administration would welcome the return of bank bailout money. Some $340 million in TARP cash flowed back this week from four small banks in Louisiana, New York, Indiana and California. This isn’t much when we routinely talk in trillions, but clearly that money has not been wasted or otherwise sunk down Wall Street’s black hole. So why no cheering as the cash comes back?

My answer: The government wants to control the banks, just as it now controls GM and Chrysler, and will surely control the health industry in the not-too-distant future. Keeping them TARP-stuffed is the key to control. And for this intensely political president, mere influence is not enough. The White House wants to tell ’em what to do. Control. Direct. Command.

The Question I have is if things recover, will Obama allow the TARP funds to be paid back? Or this is a way for the government to get a of company profits? Either way this is not a good development.

Obama Abandons Afghan Women

What is the point of the Afghan surge if their government allows women to be raped by their husbands. Is this what we are fighting for? If so I am not for helping these people.

Silence Meets Despair of Afghan Women

That was then. This is now: Afghan President Hamid Karzai has just signed a law that forces women to obey their husbands’ sexual demands, keeps women from leaving the house — even for work or school — without a husband’s permission, automatically grants child custody rights to fathers and grandfathers before mothers, and favors men in inheritance disputes and other legal matters. In short, the law again consigns Afghan women to lives of brutal repression.

We wasted American lives for this?  I thought Obama, who is a Progressive, believes in Women’s rights?  Where is Hillary on this? This is another example of the hypocrisy of the Left.  They will sell out their own beliefs to appease Islam.  It is time to leave Afghanistan, let the Taliban have it.  The people there want them.  I say we just firebomb for every terror attack.  Terror should be met with Terror.  Not invading and setting  up democracies.  America needs to stop helping Muslims; screw them, and let them help themselves.
