Freedom Week: Fear And Manipulation Are The Greatest Prison Guards

In honor of Passover starting this evening, with Tuesday being the first full day, I thought I’d go in a slightly different direction. A completely non religious discussion inspired by a religious event or celebration. Passover, for my non-Jewish friends is at its core, a celebration of freedom. More specifically, it means to those of us who are Jewish, our deliverance from bondage, (enslavement,) by God, and as a consequence of that deliverance, the agreement that we would live our lives according to the laws of the Torah, (the first Five Books of Moses found in the Old Testament of the Bible.) So, for this week, my topics will be a celebration of that spirit of freedom, what it means, how do we achieve it, keep it, and prevent the usurpers of such from gaining a foothold on ideology within our societal thought.

There are two conditions required in order for an entire population to be subjugated. One of those conditions is that there must be a group of elites or a ruling class that wishes to do the subjugating. The second condition that needs met is that the population in question must, for the entire duration of that subjugation, be incapable of doing anything about it. Those doing the subjugating will always live in constant fear of losing their upper hand. For them, Life itself will always be a paradox. Having a population that is totally and forever subordinated, and at the same time, constantly a threat if awakened to the possibility of revolt.

That is why slavers will institute certain precautions among their chattel. Education will be disallowed, most specifically, Slaves will not be allowed to learn the art of reading and writing. Disarmament is a must, as in complete gun control. Fear must be instilled, but a deeper and more subtle fear than what you might believe. Yes, making chattel fearful of immediate reprisal for breaking the rules is a necessary tool, but it is not the complete picture. Even more useful is making the subordinate population fearful for their very existence, thus convincing them to become complicit in their own bondage. Even more insidious, convincing the enslaved that they are not a permanent servant class, and controlling their behavior through mass manipulation techniques taught in every Group Dynamics Class on college campuses across our Fruited Plains.

Let’s explore those last two items in a more focused context. How do potential overlords achieve these ends? How do you convince an entire segment of the human population that without your protection from some perceived boogeyman or collection of unseen dangers, they would perish? How do you get them to be afraid of those boogeymen in the first place, meaning initiate the perception necessary to establish the ruse?

Fear, contrary to what you may believe is not a human failing. It is an evolutionary defense mechanism, which in the past helped us, as a species, to survive. When I managed Woolworth Stores in some of America’s crappiest neighborhoods, I happened upon an alcoholic named Norm. One day Norm came up to me and said, “you should try being an alcoholic John, it gets rid of your inhibitions.” I told Norm that I liked my inhibitions just fine, and that inhibited behavior was in fact what kept mankind alive for from his first appearance on Planet Earth. When you think to yourself, “should I play in traffic, in front of that oncoming tractor trailer?,” it is your inhibitions that say, “probably not a good idea.” It is the fear of falling from great heights that convinces your natural curiosity to not test the laws of physics by throwing yourself off of tall buildings to determine if you might indeed be able to fly. Fear and inhibitions were those very things that made early man not pull the tails of lions, poke bear while sleeping, or tug on Superman’s cape. What makes us different as species, is our ability to temporarily control those hardwired pieces of our natural design. The entire point I’m trying to make here is that those pimping fear in order to control everyone have a distinct advantage to begin with, and that advantage is that we are, all of us, genetically predisposed to be fearful pretty much most of the time.

Being a follower, is also hardwired into most of us. I know that this one hurts to read, and more specifically, most people actually see themselves as leaders. The truth is however, that this is not so. From the beginning of our first steps upright as people, when Simian Chromosomes 2 and 13 fused, forming our Human Chromosome number 2, with its two centromeres and three telomeres, our survival has been enhanced by living in collective groups, rather than individually. For any such social structure, leaders and followers are always established, with genetics playing a particular role in determining alphas and betas, (leaders and followers.) After the Nuremberg Trials, in which the world at large refused to accept officially any defense in which the betas of Germany professed that they were merely followers, a pretty smart guy named Stanley Milgram decided to test if it were possible after all that people in general would really be willing to simply follow a maniacal leader to commit genocide. What he found was to say the least, chilling.

Of Milgram’s original 40 test subjects, 4 were removed from the study due to a breakdown of the control conditions, (the actors involved failed to convince the test subjects of the ruse,) 35 deliberately killed off their victims, and 1 person refused. The single failure by the way was a Catholic Priest, scoring one for those of you with faith. Our humanity really is connected to our faith in a higher power. Also of note, Milgram eventually lost his job at Yale due to the fall out from this experiment, as many of those tested over the course of this study needed psychological counseling due to their realization that they were indeed willing to commit murder simply because a person in authority ordered them to do so. If WWII proved one thing, it is that human beings are predisposed to be followers, and that we are capable of being manipulated in mass, even if that manipulation leads us to do terrible things. For those of you who say it could never happen again, I would simply point to Josef Stalin’s mass murder in the Soviet Union, and Pol Pot’s mass murder in Cambodia, both of which happened after WWII. Both were instances of subordinates being ordered to exterminate millions of people based on ideological or racial grounds, and following those orders without question or failure.

I’m sure that many who read this will be those precious few alphas who are leaders and not followers, but the vast majority will be followers who view themselves as leaders. In Milgram’s experiment, each of the subjects was interviewed prior to the testing, and each one of them professed their belief that they were strong enough to stand out from the crowd and were essentially non-conformist in nature. My personal belief is that the first step in controlling these parts of our nature, genetically coded into us through millennia of natural selection, is recognition of the existence of this truth. Only by recognizing that we are being led against our will, or fearful for possibly irrational reasons, can we overcome the effects of those realities.

Always question the premise for which information is presented to you. Don’t allow for others to frame the debates of the day, dictating terms upon which decisions are made. We, as people with inalienable rights granted by our creator have a say so in matters pertaining to our existence as well, meaning, self determination. As a small lad who was a member of BBYO, (for you Christians out there, think church youth group,) I participated in a leadership weekend. There was some hippie present who taught us a class in Group Dynamics, doubtless based on his work at some leftist corner of what ever institution of higher learning was providing him protection from the consequences of living in the real world. We glossed over the basics of recognizing that when collected together as a group, people will begin to act in concert in certain respects, without recognizing the phenomenon. This behavior will begin to take on a life of its own, and will do so in every instance of any group’s formation. Even today, and in the most unlikeliest of places, I can see evidence of this in motion. Not only can this group behavior be noticed, but it can be manipulated, and most of the members of the group will follow suit. There probably will be a few dissident influences, but there is a methodology of dealing with those as well. The means of dealing with those dissident influences is easier for leaders who are organized, and looking out for them specifically. The success of the dissidents, similarly depends upon the ability to organize, but that success can be accomplished. For what makes groups easy to manipulate, is also the thing that the manipulators fear the most, and that is the recognition of the manipulation. People are generally not pleased to learn that they’ve been conned. They’re downright mad beyond belief if they feel that they’ve been led to a bad end.

Milgram’s test subjects did not just go away after his experiments were done. They contacted the University in New Haven, Connecticut demanding his head upon the realization that he had played with their emotions, consciousness, and pointed out how easily they could be led into tossing aside their humanity. The people of Germany held war crimes trials for decades after the original Nuremberg Trials had ceased, hunting people for prosecution deemed to low on the totem pole to be considered war criminals by the International Court. Truth and knowledge are the tools which will make combating the weapons of the left possible.

Barack Obama: “If only I were a Dictator”…

In what has become a reoccurring theme, Barack Obama lamented the fact that he isn’t a Dictator, able to ignore the United States constitution and simply order his agenda into existence at will.

Obama: If I Could Bypass Congress on Immigration, ‘I Would Do So’

During remarks on immigration, President Obama was confronted onstage by a protester calling on him to use executive power to bypass Congress on the issue.

The protester, standing behind the president during a speech in San Francisco, was joined by others who began to chant “Stop deportation!” “If, in fact, I could solve all these problems without passing them through Congress, I would do so,” President Obama responded. “But we’re also a nation of laws.”

He ended his lament with the phrase, “But we’re also a nation of laws.” The irony here is think enough to cut with a dull butter knife. Funny how when dealing with his signature law, Obamacare, he has violated the law repeatedly. From it’s passage in the middle of the night through the highly dubious practice of “Reconciliation” the fact that it originated not in the House of Representatives as required by Law, but the Senate. The multiple executive alterations of it, to the numerous delays, and even finally to his “Fix” of the Laws required policy cancellations. Obama has done nothing but violate Laws which he did not agree with.

Then we move on to numerous Court orders he has blatantly ignored, his refusal to defend existing Laws that he doesn’t like such as the Defense of Marriage Act. One is left wondering how he could make the claim “But we’re also a nation of laws.” without his mouth bursting into flames. Thus we find ourselves reflecting on his previous desire to be a Dictator.

Obama wishes he had an easier job, like president of China

Mr. Obama has told people that it would be so much easier to be the president of China. As one official put it, “No one is scrutinizing Hu Jintao’s words in Tahrir Square.”

Tahrir Square, for those who don’t understand the stupidity of this comment, is in Egypt. Hu Jintao had nothing to do with Tahrir Square, Hu Jintao was the Communist Chinese Dictator responsible for the massacre that took place in Tiananmen Square, change a single name, and sadly most people lose the significance of what Obama was saying, remind them that he was speaking not of Hu Jintao words in Tahrir Square, but of his actions in Tiananmen Square and the meaning of Barack Obama’s statement comes into crystal clear focus.

Goldwaterite Historical Update: Hu Jintao was not the leader of China during the 1989 Tiananmen Square crackdown. The leaders of China were Deng Xiaoping and Li Peng.

Welcome to totalitarian America: Pastor Terry Jones arrested before planned 9-11-2013 Qur’an burning

Notice how nobody says, “It’s a free country!” any more?

That’s because it isn’t. Earlier on 9/11/2013, 1389 Blog posted this notice at the top of its main page: Worldwide burning of 2,998 Qur’ans on September 11, 2013 at 5pm EDT (Livestream Link).

Such was not to be. We have so many laws in the US and in all of its States, counties, and localities that, if any governmental body or official wants to get you, for any reason or for no reason, they can and they most certainly will. It is both physically and logically impossible for any American to be in compliance with all of the applicable laws and regulations all of the time, or even most of the time. Unless, of course, one is part of the power elite or a member of one of its protected classes (such as Muslims) who are being used as clubs to beat the rest of us over the head with.

Orlando Sentinel has the story:

The controversial Gainesville Pastor Terry Jones, known for his plans to publicly burn copies of the Muslim holy book, the Quran, was arrested Wednesday in Polk County, deputies have confirmed.

Jones, 61, was arrested on felony charges after a traffic stop near a pharmacy in Mulberry, a small town in Polk County, just before 5 p.m. He faces charges of unlawfully transporting fuel and openly carrying a firearm.

Deputies say Jones was riding in a pickup truck that was towing a smoker and trailer filled with kerosene-soaked Qurans. He also had extra bottles of kerosene inside the truck bed.

According to Jones’ website, he had plans to burn 2,998 Qurans in the Tampa Bay area on Wednesday at 5 p.m. He was arrested along with Associate Pastor Marvin Sapp minutes before the scheduled burning.

Sapp’s pickup truck was seized. He was also charged with unlawfully transporting fuel and received several citations related to improper lighting on the trailer.

“My detectives had many conversations with Terry Jones prior to today,” Sheriff’s Grady Judd said Wednesday. “He was told he was welcome to come to Polk County and express his first amendment rights. However, if he violated the law, he would absolutely be arrested and placed in the county jail.

“On Sept.11 he arrived in Polk County, violated the law and our detectives arrested him and booked him into the county jail just as he was informed.”

As pastor of Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Jones’ controversial stances have drawn widespread scrutiny.

Most notably, Jones announced plans to burn copies of the Muslim holy book, the Quran, in 2010 at his church, prompting protests and condemnation from international leaders.

Last April, he organized a Sanford event in support of George Zimmerman, the man acquitted in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

Zenster Explains Why Islam Is Not Worth Salvaging

Do you have links or citations on sexuality in Islam?

A recent post at Gates of Vienna, Islamic Sexuality: A Survey of Evil, announced that Ann Barnhardt will be the keynote speaker at the Center for Strategic Analysis annual seminar in Las Vegas on Saturday, September 24th.

If you have links or citations regarding Islamic sexuality, please forward that information to Ann Barnhardt at the email address on her website.

Zenster weighs in:

In the comments on the blog post cited above, Zenster explains how Islam brings physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual ruin to every individual and society that embraces it:

Comment #4:

I think it is important to note that whatever passes for “love” in Islamic culture may well be a far cry from the romantic intimacy by which we define it in the West.

Way too much of Muslim sexual interaction involves subjugation, ownership, denial of vulnerability, outright force and a host of other behavioral motifs that simply defy, if not prohibit, the development of healthy attachments or constructive interpersonal bonding.

As Pat Condell has noted, Islam is a culture of rape be it hetero or homosexual. The entire practice of purdah (female confinement), is a strong driver in both male and female homosexuality while ensuring that whatever matches do occur are usually driven by political or commercial interests instead of for true love.

As a flip-side to all of this, imagine how any attempts at actually establishing a healthy romantic relationship must be done secretly and in total opposition to all social norms. The taint that this must cast upon an individual’s valiant efforts to defy such abnormality can only serve to further warp the substrate of interpersonal exchange.

The whole concept of marrying off children to people they have often met briefly or not at all means that a disproportionate number of Islamic marriages are coerced and potentially loveless. To imbue something so physically and emotionally intimate as marriage with an undercurrent of detachment is not just an abomination but serves to desensitize a culture overall.

This desensitization is manifest in the way that cruelty is so commonplace and barely given a second glance. The Islamic obsession with death is another facet of this same anti-life frame of mind.

If one examines how Islam imposes the death penalty for both adultery and apostasy, it becomes readily apparent that this ideology is nothing but a spiritual and psycho-sexual gulag.

Consider these other commonplace aspects of daily Islamic life:

No dogs for children to play with and learn from about unconditional love and devotion.

Illiterate mothers who cannot read a bedtime story to their children or help them learn how to read.

No freedom of speech that permits healthy discussion and critical analysis of current events.

No freedom of religion that is so vital to a pluralistic society.

No graphic depiction of most living forms which curtails artistic creativity.

No public displays of affection that lend a romantic atmosphere to daily life.

No pork or other haram foods that widen the diet and give variety to sustenance.

No beautiful or shapely women proudly strutting their stuff on the street.

No non-liturgical music to break up the monotony of constant religious worship.

No alcohol to unwind with and enhance convivial gatherings.

No co-ed intermingling that allows young people to refine their social skills.

Now, imagine how barren and loveless such a world must be. From all indications, it would seem that healthy loving relationships would be the exception and not the rule. If one reflects upon the monumental amount of misery and human suffering that Islam has inflicted throughout its entire history, the sheer existence of this inhumane ideology becomes a blatant affront to all Western traditions of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Comment #7:

Jewel: [#5] Other than the muezzin’s five times a day call to worship, there is no music allowed.

My qualification was to prevent nitpickers. In reality, you have only further cemented my case. Thank you for the constructive input.

As someone who is self-taught on several instruments, performs publicly and also composes and writes lyrics in a wide variety of styles, I cannot imagine living without music.

Astonishingly enough, even cynical old Friedrich Nietzsche said:

Without music, life would be a mistake.

Comment #52:

The list in my original comment (#4), was from a long time ago and omits one very important thing:

Any society populated by a majority of females who have been genitally mutilated can only be one that is so devoid of sexual fairness, true mutual pleasure and anything even remotely resembling gender equality as to be permanently and irreversibly dysfunctional.

It is impossible to imagine how anyone who advocates or defends FGM (Female Genital Mutilation), can possibly talk about any sort of wholesome, functioning community.

A woman who has been subjected to FGM is essentially being raped every day of her life. Intercourse or no intercourse, fulfilling, satisfying lovemaking has been permanently denied her ― as it often is for many victims of rape ― and that is perpetual rape of a most heinous sort.

Any culture that countenances FGM cannot possibly claim to have “normal” or “healthy” sexual mores. It is a physical impossibility. A man who advocates or defends FGM is unworthy of a woman’s attentions and deserves, at best, to live a solitary and involuntarily celibate life…

Comment #57:

Hesperado: [#54] In Muslim countries, Muslim women are mainly the practitioners of FGM on the little girls.

Which is why I lost all sympathy for Muslimas a long, long time ago.

Muslim women are not salvageable. They are thoroughly brainwashed co-dependent enablers of their victimizers. There’s no hope of a Lorena Bobbit movement arising from them in any numbers sufficient to make a difference.

You are, once again, preaching to the choir. It is not just “Muslim women [who] are not salvageable”.

THE ENTIRETY OF ISLAM IS NOT SALVAGEABLE.

This is the point I was making in the “A Pathetic Badge of Honor” thread. To wit:

I have long maintained that, even if it were possible to disregard terrorism ― and it most certainly is not ― shari’a law’s institutionalized misogyny is still an ultimate deal-breaker with respect to ever allowing Islam to participate as an equal on the world stage.

Neither do I believe that Islam can be rehabilitated. Just rendering equality for women would make Islam alien unto itself. Abject Gender Apartheid is an unspoken “pillar” of Islam.

There is so little in Islam that is worth salvaging and such intense internal opposition to any such thing that reformation or rehabilitation is rendered nigh well impossible to the point where there is no way to even visualize how it might be achieved.

To close, imagine how much more peaceful and less hostile or miserable this entire world would be if Islam simply did not exist. What more damning thing can be said of Islam?

Q.E.D.
