Captain James Tiberius Kirk and his dilithium-powered toilet plunger with 4-dimensional crystalline scrubbing bubbles was no match for the tribbles clogging the septic system of NCC-1701. From Wiki:

“According to The Star Trek Encyclopedia, the registry number ‘NCC-1701’ was devised by Matt Jefferies, art director of the first Star Trek series, inspired by an old science fiction cover that Gene Roddenberry liked, with a starship flying through space. Jefferies, who was a pilot, based NCC on 20th century aircraft registration codes. In such 20th century usage, an ‘N’ first letter refers to an aircraft registered in the USA. A ‘C’ for a second letter refers to a civil aircraft. Jefferies added a second ‘C’, just because he thought it looked better.”

BFD. I might have cared about that kind of trivia as a teenager, but most of us grew out of it. Times change, and around here, the BFD trivia is referred to as

Such a Warm Welcome!

There are conflicting reports of a recent visit by Star Trek Freak, King Abdullah II of Jordan, to a town located in the southern part of his country.
The discrepancy deals with just how the King was welcomed, just a day after he sacked (fired for us here in the USA) his Prime Minister to accommodate his subjects’ demands:

A security official said a crowd of youths flung objects at the monarch’s motorcade in two incidents in the town of Tafila, 200 kilometers (125 miles) south of Amman, just a day after Abdullah bowed to popular demands for an elected prime minister. This official, insisting on anonymity because he is not authorized to discuss royal matters, said the king was unharmed.
Government spokesman Taher Edwan later called the report “totally baseless.”
“There was no attack whatsoever with empty bottles and stones,” he said. “What happened is that a group of young Jordanians thronged the monarch’s motorcade to shake hands with him.” He said when police “pushed them away, there was a lot of shoving.”

A lot of good your noble appearance on Star Trek did ya, eh King? Just think, they’ll elect a Prime Minister so they can institute Islamic “reforms” which include even more virulent anti-Semitism!
Too bad you can’t take off to the Delta Quadrant….

Hello Fellow Blogmocracy Netizens!

Well, Chrisopher Plummer would be proud of these lines. It was he who started the whole thing. This group only finished it!

And now here’s a question put to you: If Star Trek equivocated the Klingons with the Russians, and the Romulans with the Chinese…then who are the Islamofascists? And the Progressives?
