(AGI) Brussels — Some members of Vlaams Belang, an intensely xenophobic Flemish nationalist group, occupied the roof of an Antwerp building that the municipal authorities will turn into a mosque. The protest against “the islamisation of Antwerp” and the “supermosque” (as Vlaams Belang leader Filip Dewinter defined it) may continue next week with a pork barbecue in the same building.

I think it is important to note that whatever passes for “love” in Islamic culture may well be a far cry from the romantic intimacy by which we define it in the West.

Way too much of Muslim sexual interaction involves subjugation, ownership, denial of vulnerability, outright force and a host of other behavioral motifs that simply defy, if not prohibit, the development of healthy attachments or constructive interpersonal bonding.

As Pat Condell has noted, Islam is a culture of rape be it hetero or homosexual. The entire practice of purdah (female confinement), is a strong driver in both male and female homosexuality while ensuring that whatever matches do occur are usually driven by political or commercial interests instead of for true love.

As a flip-side to all of this, imagine how any attempts at actually establishing a healthy romantic relationship must be done secretly and in total opposition to all social norms. The taint that this must cast upon an individual’s valiant efforts to defy such abnormality can only serve to further warp the substrate of interpersonal exchange.

The whole concept of marrying off children to people they have often met briefly or not at all means that a disproportionate number of Islamic marriages are coerced and potentially loveless. To imbue something so physically and emotionally intimate as marriage with an undercurrent of detachment is not just an abomination but serves to desensitize a culture overall.

This desensitization is manifest in the way that cruelty is so commonplace and barely given a second glance. The Islamic obsession with death is another facet of this same anti-life frame of mind.

If one examines how Islam imposes the death penalty for both adultery and apostasy, it becomes readily apparent that this ideology is nothing but a spiritual and psycho-sexual gulag.

Consider these other commonplace aspects of daily Islamic life:

No dogs for children to play with and learn from about unconditional love and devotion.

Illiterate mothers who cannot read a bedtime story to their children or help them learn how to read.

No freedom of speech that permits healthy discussion and critical analysis of current events.

No freedom of religion that is so vital to a pluralistic society.

No graphic depiction of most living forms which curtails artistic creativity.

No public displays of affection that lend a romantic atmosphere to daily life.

No pork or other haram foods that widen the diet and give variety to sustenance.

No beautiful or shapely women proudly strutting their stuff on the street.

No non-liturgical music to break up the monotony of constant religious worship.

No alcohol to unwind with and enhance convivial gatherings.

No co-ed intermingling that allows young people to refine their social skills.

Now, imagine how barren and loveless such a world must be. From all indications, it would seem that healthy loving relationships would be the exception and not the rule. If one reflects upon the monumental amount of misery and human suffering that Islam has inflicted throughout its entire history, the sheer existence of this inhumane ideology becomes a blatant affront to all Western traditions of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

My qualification was to prevent nitpickers. In reality, you have only further cemented my case. Thank you for the constructive input.

As someone who is self-taught on several instruments, performs publicly and also composes and writes lyrics in a wide variety of styles, I cannot imagine living without music.

Astonishingly enough, even cynical old Friedrich Nietzsche said:

Without music, life would be a mistake.

The list in my original comment (#4), was from a long time ago and omits one very important thing:

Any society populated by a majority of females who have been genitally mutilated can only be one that is so devoid of sexual fairness, true mutual pleasure and anything even remotely resembling gender equality as to be permanently and irreversibly dysfunctional.

It is impossible to imagine how anyone who advocates or defends FGM (Female Genital Mutilation), can possibly talk about any sort of wholesome, functioning community.

A woman who has been subjected to FGM is essentially being raped every day of her life. Intercourse or no intercourse, fulfilling, satisfying lovemaking has been permanently denied her ― as it often is for many victims of rape ― and that is perpetual rape of a most heinous sort.

Any culture that countenances FGM cannot possibly claim to have “normal” or “healthy” sexual mores. It is a physical impossibility. A man who advocates or defends FGM is unworthy of a woman’s attentions and deserves, at best, to live a solitary and involuntarily celibate life…

Muslim women are not salvageable. They are thoroughly brainwashed co-dependent enablers of their victimizers. There’s no hope of a Lorena Bobbit movement arising from them in any numbers sufficient to make a difference.

You are, once again, preaching to the choir. It is not just “Muslim women [who] are not salvageable”.

THE ENTIRETY OF ISLAM IS NOT SALVAGEABLE.

This is the point I was making in the “A Pathetic Badge of Honor” thread. To wit:

I have long maintained that, even if it were possible to disregard terrorism ― and it most certainly is not ― shari’a law’s institutionalized misogyny is still an ultimate deal-breaker with respect to ever allowing Islam to participate as an equal on the world stage.

Neither do I believe that Islam can be rehabilitated. Just rendering equality for women would make Islam alien unto itself. Abject Gender Apartheid is an unspoken “pillar” of Islam.

There is so little in Islam that is worth salvaging and such intense internal opposition to any such thing that reformation or rehabilitation is rendered nigh well impossible to the point where there is no way to even visualize how it might be achieved.

To close, imagine how much more peaceful and less hostile or miserable this entire world would be if Islam simply did not exist. What more damning thing can be said of Islam?

In Defense of the EDL

Admin note:
Three of the four owners of the blog believed this issue to be squashed and felt this thread was late and unnecessary. At the very least it needed a disclaimer. It read as if it was a Blogmocracy statement and the whole team had not been consulted. The one admin that fully agreed with it happened to be the one on duty ~:) and it was published without comment.

With respect to the EDL, all of the admins are in agreement and we absolutely stand with the EDL in their fight against the islamization of England. It is not contrary to that opinion that we also stand with Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller in saying that the EDL should do everything to make sure the message stays on focus and that they keep the fringe element from hijacking their cause.

An Open Letter to Pamela Geller

As most readers already know, earlier today Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs posted a prominent repudiation of the English Defence League, including references to their alleged infiltration by “neo-fascists”.

A group of Counterjihad bloggers and writers has joined together to publish this open letter to Ms. Geller. Most of us are Europeans, but not all — we also have signatories from the United States, Canada, and Australia.

If you are a blogger or a writer and want to add your signature to this letter, please send your name and URL to me (unspiek [at] chromatism [dot] net), or to the proprietors of other sites where it has been posted.

Dear Ms. Geller,

We the undersigned are writing to register our astonishment and dismay at your public denunciation of the English Defence League, and in particular your reference to the “neo-fascists that had infiltrated the administration of the group”.

This is a grossly inaccurate and unfair slander against the leaders and membership of the EDL, who have never wavered in their refusal to include neo-Nazis, fascists, or adherents of any other ideology that seeks to divide people based on their ethnicity. The core mission of the EDL has always been, and remains, to stop the encroachment of sharia and Islamic fascism.

For the past two years the English Defence League has been on the front lines of the resistance to sharia and militant Islam in England. Its leaders have put their own lives in danger by doing so. They live under constant threat, not just from murderous Muslim zealots, but from their own government, which has harassed and arrested them repeatedly. Tommy Robinson, the leader of the EDL, has been arrested multiple times, and is currently facing trumped-up charges designed to put him and the EDL out of action.

To paraphrase Geert Wilders: “I was dragged to court by leftist and Islamic organizations that were bent not only on silencing me but on stifling public debate.” The EDL is being dragged into a kangaroo court of uninformed public opinion. The more people’s fears can be raised, the more quickly debate can be smothered.

In the final analysis, as Geert Wilders points out, the strength of our community depends on the freedom we feel to “enter our convictions in the open lists to win or lose”.

All communities inevitably experience conflicts based on differences of opinion. It is crucial that we approach one another’s efforts in good faith, presume the other’s efforts to be well-meaning until conclusively proven otherwise, support initiatives made by others that further our common cause, and refuse to be dragged into parsing ever more finely our differences.

Our ideal of the “perfect” can kill any merely “good enough” effort.

Your unfortunate statements were picked up and repeated by other websites and blogs, some of them quite prominent and well-respected. This has done harm to our common cause, and has driven a completely needless wedge between the American and European wings of the international Counterjihad.

To help heal the damage that has been done, we insist that you apologize in a public forum to the English Defence League.

Its leaders and members are heroes, and their organization is widely considered a beacon of hope in Europe. All Europeans who resist the Islamization of their countries look to the EDL for inspiration, and all of them stand in solidarity with it in its struggle.

We strongly request that you reconsider your deplorable words and withdraw them.

Groundswell of support for Geller and Spencer on EDL

Pamela Geller has an important update on the recent blogwar over the English Defence League:

Apparently an update is required on the blogwar against Atlas that is being waged by vultures with an altogether nefarious agenda. It’s not important, because these bottomfeeders just bang keyboards and jockey for position on the bottom of the food chain. But to be clear …….

I stand by my concern about the increasing antisemitism in the ranks of the admins at the EDL. We have no intention of breaking with the EDL if they purge these antisemitic elements. If they do not, they will be finished as a force for good in England. I was immediately reassured that these rogue elements would be routed out. End of story. This campaign to gang up on Geller by small “counter-jihadists” trying to make a name for themselves clearly is motivated by something enitrely different. Something very ugly and transparent.

There are pages and pages of this kind of stuff. Here is just one example. “Hel Gower” is a powerful EDL administrator. She “liked” this page.

We applaud those who stand against this kind of poison. As John Jay wrote, “Pamela Geller did not cause any problems in the EDL; she simply recognized them. And this fact was admitted, endorsed, recognized and a promise adduced by Tommy Robinson to fix it.”

And Brian of London said: “Pamela is one of the stalwarts of the counter Jihad. She’s doing great work over in America and I don’t like the way in which she was personally attacked (along with Robert Spencer) over this.”

Bravo.

Calling attention to a problem is not a crime. We are not the problem. There can be no compromise with antisemitic elements in the EDL or anywhere else. As Ayn Rand said, “In any compromise between food and poison, it is only death that can win. In any compromise between good and evil, it is only evil that can profit.”

I understand that several people have asked that their names be removed from the list of signers of Gates of Vienna’s “Open Letter to Pamela Geller.” They are to be commended for righting a wrong. Get the facts, first. Many of those who have signed have not a cursory knowledge of what actually happened.

Many good people have written in support and defense of me in GoV’s recent attack (their entire front page was attacking me in one giant hot mess). I am not sure who he is working for or why, but it’s not kosher. That’s for shiz.

A Briefing on the European Counterjihad

Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff originally met Col. Allen West back in February 2010 at the Freedom Defense Initiative in Washington D.C. She shared a podium with him to discuss the hate-speech case against her for the first time in front of an American audience. Col. West was one of the featured speakers at the event, and the video of his speech went viral on the internet in a number of languages.

Elisabeth and I renewed our acquaintance with Col. West last Thursday afternoon following ACT! for America’s legislative briefing on Capitol Hill. The Colonel is now a member of Congress representing Florida’s 22nd District, and is perhaps the most knowledgeable and dedicated anti-jihad politician in Congress. We caught up with him that afternoon at his office in the Longworth Building.

We had arranged to meet with Rep. West for three closely-related reasons. First of all, Elisabeth wanted to update him on the status of her case: since she last spoke to him, she had been tried and convicted of “denigration of religious beliefs of a legally recognized religion” for her statements about Mohammed’s sexual proclivities, as evidenced by the consummation of his marriage to a nine-year-old girl. Readers who are unfamiliar with the details of Elisabeth’s case should see the archive for more information.

Our second purpose was to acquaint the congressman with some of the more prominent European political parties that oppose the Islamization of their countries. Col. West already knows Geert Wilders, of course, and there are other parties — some of them relatively new — with whom he may well want to establish a working relationship. Elisabeth and I spoke for a while about several of these parties, and discussed the possibility of his visiting Europe at some point in the future for an on-site look at what is happening.

Our third reason for meeting with him was to present him with a briefing paper on the growing Islamization of Western Europe, and the resulting emergence of social and political resistance to it. This document was designed to be used as a reference for Rep. West when he hears about one of these “Islamophobic” parties in the news, or is contacted by their representatives. It gives an outline of the parties’ current electoral status, and grades each party and organization based on its philosophy, origins, legislative positions, and political allies.

The information we provided can be readily consulted by the congressman and his staff to help them understand the current situation in Europe without relying on biased presentations by the media and EU government bodies. The briefing paper contains better information than the CIA could provide, since it is gathered through grassroots networks in Europe rather than assembled from European media digests.

The data for the paper were collected and written up by various European members of the International Civil Liberties Alliance living in the countries involved. I acted as the overall collator and editor, and also wrote the general introduction. An excerpt:

Except for the Algerians who remained in France at the end of the colonial period, there were few Muslims in Western Europe until full-scale immigration began in the late 1970s and early 1980s. In what is now known to be a deliberate policy of the European Community (today the European Union), the flow of immigrants into Europe accelerated in the 1990s, and exploded in the 2000s, especially in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and the UK. Each country has its “preferred” sources for Muslim immigrants: Pakistanis for Britain, Algerians and Tunisians for France, Moroccans for Belgium and the Netherlands, and Turks for Germany and Austria.

Exact demographic figures are difficult to come by, since the collection of statistics based on ethnicity or religion is officially discouraged, and is even prohibited in some countries. France, for example, does not allow government agencies to include ethnicity in their data-gathering. Britain collects data on residents’ countries of origin, but lumps together everyone born in the UK as “British”, regardless of parentage.

Estimates of the Muslim current population are therefore largely educated guesses. Activist organizations in various countries have made estimates based on names recorded in hospital birth records, or by statistical evaluation of surnames in telephone directories. The impact of Muslim crime (which is disproportionately high) can be determined by tracking the names of convicted offenders in court records. However, a number of countries prohibit the publication of offenders’ names, so this methodology is not available everywhere.

The population estimates used here are based on a database of figures published in 2004. Current estimates are derived from anecdotal evidence, including the likely level of illegal immigration.

The percentage values derived from the 2004 data, and our estimates of current figures, are summarized in this table:

It is important to bear in mind that all of the anti-Islamization parties and organizations in Europe are characterized as “extreme right-wing” groups. This is true no matter how socialist they are in their economic policies, nor how progressive they are on social issues, such as gay marriage, global warming, etc. None of that matters — opposition to Islamization is the sole criterion that earns them the descriptor “extreme right-wing”.

That is, an American fiscal conservative might find it hard to make sense of all these “right-wing extremists” in a European context. Many — probably most — of the anti-jihad parties are at least as Socialist as the Democratic Party here in the USA, yet they are staunch opponents of mass immigration, and their leaders are taking enormous risks to buck the EU establishment and resist the Islamization of their countries.

Elisabeth and I are hoping that our efforts will help bridge the murky transatlantic waters between anti-jihad political leaders in America and Europe. The lack of understanding runs in both directions, and with luck we will someday get the opportunity to present the American perspective to receptive audiences in Europe.
