The Obama Boom: Texas engineer, whose wife sent The Pharaoh his résumé, still unemployed!

A couple of months ago at a Google townhall, a Texas woman, Jennifer Wedel confronted Obama about his claims the economy was booming. She pointed out he was an engineer and had been out of work several years. She blamed the H1-B visas program for this. Bi-partisan support for this visa program has decimated the US IT industry. The Pharaoh asked her to give him her husband’s resume and he was stunned he hadn’t found work. He claims his Theban Priests (advisers) had told him things were great for engineers. Well two months after this meeting, Jennifer Wedel’s husband is still out of work.

FORT WORTH — More than two months after President Barack Obama asked for Darin Wedel’s résumé, the phone is quiet, e-mails are no longer flooding in and the long-sought-after job interviews — which had begun to be scheduled — have petered out.
“Not even recruiting companies are calling anymore,” said Jennifer Wedel, the Fort Worth mother of two who chatted online this year with Obama about her out-of-work husband.
She says his job search has been hurt by a program to hire skilled foreign workers.

[….]

Jennifer Wedel said the whole reason she participated in the chat was to draw attention to her concern about H-1B visas, which she believes are preventing workers like her husband from getting hired.
Supporters say this type of visa is needed to fill jobs that otherwise might be left vacant. Critics say that there’s no worker shortage, that countless highly skilled U.S. workers are unemployed and that companies are choosing to hire foreign workers at lower salaries through the program.
Jennifer Wedel’s conversation with the president prompted Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, to send Obama a letter asking him to support a bill geared to reform the visa program.
“Your response to Ms. Wedel leads me to believe that you don’t understand the plight of many unemployed high-skilled Americans,” the letter said.

The H1-B visa program should be ended. It should only be implemented if there’s a labor shortage. Clearly Mr. Wedel’s situation proves the Obama Boom is myth.

The Obama Boom: The False Messiah stunned at Engineer who can’t find work

Polls show that most Americans think the False Messiah understands their problems more than either Newt Gingrich or Mitt Romney. I, for the life of me, don’t get the benefit of the doubt this man is given. Clearly it has to do with him being Black and too many Americans don’t want to admit he’s a failure. This perception is not the reality.

At his Google town hall, the False Messiah is confronted by a woman whose husband is unemployed. Believing his own Obama Boom hype, he is stunned and taken aback. Obama said the economy was fine and that her husband should find a job. The women doesn’t back down and takes Obama to task for wanting to increase H1-B Visas.  Obama then asks for her husband’s resume!

During his Google+ hangout Pres. Obama tells a woman that her husband shouldn’t be unemployed from the growth he has seen in the economy. Obama said he finds it “interesting” because he is getting “the word” that someone in her husband’s job field “should be able to find something right away.”

Obama offered to do something if she would just send him her husband’s resume.

The woman wants to know why Obama is extending visas for foreigners when there is tons of demand for American jobs by Americans.

“I don’t know what your husband’s speciality [is], but I can tell you that there is a huge demand around the country for engineers,” Obama told the woman.

“I understand that,” she responded. “But how am — given the list that you’re getting, I mean we’re not getting that. You said in the State of the Union address for business leaders to ask what can they do to bring jobs back to America.

There is demand for engineers in America. Its just businesses don’t want American engineers, they want cheap foreign labor. Does this sound familiar (Illegal immigration)? This has been very detrimental to the US economy. With declining wages and foreigners getting preferences, Americans are not interested in the Engineering field. There’s no longer an economic reward to justify the high costs assorted with attaining that degree. The H1-B visa program needs to stop. If someone wants to immigrate here, cool. I do think educated foreigners (Non Islamic) should be given a speeded up process, but to bring in people specifically for certain jobs has been a disaster in the IT field. Unlike farm work, these are jobs Americans would love to do.

This incident shows the delusion Obama lives in. Clearly, his own administration thinks the economy is doing fine. That woman is a patriot for hitting The False Messiah with a dose of reality. The job market sucks, no matter how much the Regime lies.

Update: Carlina Girl expressed my feelings on this matter.

Well said!

Another Example of Economic Elitism

If you want to see why the Right is in trouble, it is articles like this one. As is known the American IT industry has been decimated by India and China. Our companies no longer want high skilled American workers. Instead they want to outsource to India or enemies like China, or bring in more Indians and Chinese with the H-1B Visas. This has led to decreased wages and lower standard of living that has contributed to this economic crisis of course this Globalist/Free Trader doesn’t grasp this.

We Need an Immigration Stimulus

The pace of lower-skilled migration has slowed due to higher unemployment. This could make it less contentious to ease the path to legalization for the 12 million undocumented workers and their families in the U.S. It’s also a good time to ask why we turn away skilled workers, including the ones earning 60% of the advanced degrees in engineering at U.S. universities. It is worth pointing out the demographic shortfall: Immigrants are a smaller proportion of the U.S. population than in periods such as the late 1890s and 1910s, when immigrants gave the economy a jolt of growth.

Immigrants have had a disproportionate role in innovation and technology. Companies founded by immigrants include Yahoo, eBay and Google. Half of Silicon Valley start-ups were founded by immigrants, up from 25% a decade ago. Some 40% of patents in the U.S. are awarded to immigrants. A recent study by the Kauffman Foundation found that immigrants are 50% likelier to start businesses than natives. Immigrant-founded technology firms employ 450,000 workers in the U.S. And according to the National Venture Capital Association, immigrants have started one quarter of all U.S. venture-backed firms.

This is all BS. H-1 B visas lower wages and squeeze Native Born Americans out of Hi-Tech jobs. This leads to lack of native born which is dangerous. By doing this, this discourages Americans from getting involved in these industries.

I favor Immigration, but not the type that destroys the well being of Americans like the H-1B Visa program. Globalization has destroyed America, why keep going down a dead end path. We have plenty of talent here, let us use it!

Just for the record, I am NOT an Economic Conservative. I am Rightwing on National Security issues and Libertarian on Social Issues. I stand for the Traditional Judeo-Christian/Greco-Roman Culture of America/Europe/Latin America/Israel/Phillipines. However when it comes to economics, I stand with the Populist side of the economic debate. I support free markets but not Corporatism/Free Trade/Globalization. That is where I stand. I put National interests above Corporate interests.
