The man who would be King

Someone once said of George Washington’s first postmaster general Timothy Pickering who was promoted to be our third Secretary of State – “President Washington  took a capable  enough postmaster and raised him up to be a lousy Secretary of State”. Barack Obama was a capable “community organizer” who has risen to be  a disastrously  incompetent president. His arrogance is such that he  feels that the job of president is too confining and  beneath him, he wants to be Emperor of the World!  Mark Steyn lays it all out in his usual way.

Hat tip – Powerline

by Mark Steyn

So a man swept into office on an unprecedented tide of delirious fawning is now watching his presidency sink in an unstoppable gush. That’s almost too apt.

Unfortunately, in the real world, a disastrous president has consequences. So let me begin by citing the Leader of Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition in Canada. Whoa, whoa, don’t stampede for the exits!

The Canadian thing’s just a starting point, I promise. If I’m still droning on about inside-Ottawa stuff five paragraphs down, feel free to turn the page to our exclusive 12-page pictorial preview of “Sex And The City 3,” starring Estelle Getty as Kim Cattrall.

Anyway, a couple of years back, Michael Ignatieff, a professor at Harvard and previously a BBC late-night intellectual telly host, returned to his native land of Canada in order to become prime minister, and to that end got himself elected as leader of the Liberal Party. And, as is the fashion nowadays, he cranked out a quickie tome laying out his political “vision.” Having spent his entire adult life abroad, he was aware that some of the natives were uncertain about his commitment to the land of his birth. So he was careful to issue a sort of pledge of a kind of allegiance, explaining that writing a book about Canada had “deepened my attachment to the place on Earth that, if I needed one, I would call home.”

Gee, that’s awfully big of you. As John Robson commented in The Ottawa Citizen: “I’m worried that a man so postmodern he doesn’t need a home wants to lead my country. Why? Is it quaint? An interesting sociological experiment?”

Indeed. But there’s a lot of it about. Many Americans are beginning to pick up the strange vibe that for Barack Obama, governing America is “an interesting sociological experiment”, too. He would doubtless agree that the United States is “the place on Earth that, if I needed one, I would call home.” But he doesn’t, not really: It is hard to imagine Obama wandering along to watch a Memorial Day or Fourth of July parade until the job required him to. That’s not to say he’s un-American or anti-American, but merely that he’s beyond all that. Way beyond. He’s the first president to give off the pronounced whiff that he’s condescending to the job – that it’s really too small for him, and he’s just killing time until something more commensurate with his stature comes along.

Obama: Passover Wrap Up, “Next Year In Jerusalem ,” Deemed “Provocative”

This is a spoof. This is only a spoof. From this blog, a satirical take on the traditional end of the Passover Seder, which for centuries has been: “next year in Jerusalem”:

Shana Habbab (AP White House Correspondent)

(AP) — An unidentified Israeli official has confirmed that private discussions between President Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu included an urgent request from the President that the traditional closing refrain “next year in Jerusalem” be deleted during the upcoming Passover holiday, calling the ancient passage provocative and unhelpful for the future of peace talks. Calling it “an easy fix,” Obama strongly urged the Jewish People to replace it with “next year in peace” or “next year in Tel Aviv,” leaving the exact wording to final status talks between Israelis and Palestinians. Netanyahu is said to have balked at the request, indicating that the refrain dates back well before the UN Partition of 1947 and well before the U.S. Declaration of Independence, for that matter. The Prime Minister reportedly attempted to defuse the situation by offering to remove it from the conclusion of the lesser-known Yom Kippur service, and suggesting the phrase was defunct anyway since Jews have controlled all of Jerusalem since 1967. However, a visibly irritated President Obama flatly rejected the compromise, adding it was another indication the “stiff-necked” Prime Minister did not appear “serious about peace.”

Shortly after the meeting, both sides issued a terse statement saying that no agreement had been reached on the matter.

Yyyyyyyeah.

The Limits of Obama’s Star Power

Good Morning Blogmocracy Netizens! I hope everyone slept well and is off to great start of your day.

Our Community Organizer in Chief, Barack Hussein Obama is a Global star. He is the first Globalist Post American President, for this he is beloved by people the world over and is a celebrity in Europe. His popularity is propped up by the Transnationalist Progressive Media Machine. This adoration has gotten into his head and he believes he can solve all of the world’s conflicts and ills due to the love he receives. He has developed a Messiah Complex and believes he is beyond being a mortal human. However, he has little to show for this adulation in concrete results. He has appeased enemies and abandoned allies, all of which has weaken America’s strategic position.

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama’s Nobel Prize for climate change — the Nobel committee credited him with “creating a new climate” — was useful in at least one way. It exposed the truest of the true believers — those who believe that the tonic of Obama’s presence deserves the Nobel Prize for medicine, that his magnetism merits the Nobel Prize for physics, that his charisma demands the Nobel Prize for personal chemistry.

Even Obama could not claim that he personally deserved the award. “I do not view it as a recognition of my own accomplishments,” he said — which was simple realism, not false humility. Those who credit Obama’s nine undistinguished months for this honor display a panting infatuation even stronger than Obama’s healthy self-regard.

Others, however, embraced the award in a more sophisticated manner — not as a tribute to Obama but as a symbol of America’s revived popularity in the world. It is a good thing, the argument goes, for an American president to be loved by foreigners, even if their sloppy display of affection is embarrassing.

But this point needs to be argued, not merely assumed. How does American standing translate into effective diplomacy? And what role does presidential popularity play in building national standing?

Barack Hussein Obama loves the adulation of the Global public. He views himself as a Global Citizen and not as an American. This is dangerous to our interests as Obama just wants people to love him. He is a typical Totalitarian Progressive, he has big case of narcissism. Unfortunately it is the nation as a whole that will suffer from this. America needs to stand up for its interests and allies, not the love of the Global masses.

Update: Big favor, let us limit the disucssion of a failed Progressive blogger. There will be open threads later where we can do that.

Thanks in advance.

Israelis view Rahm Emanuel as a Traitor

The Israeli public is getting increasingly angry with Rahm Emanuel. Rahm, who has deep family ties to Israel, is supporting Obama’s agenda to throw Israel under the bus. Israelis were happy at first that he was made Chief of Staff, but now they realize he is not on their side.

But in a dramatic emotional shift, Israelis have become increasingly disenchanted with Emanuel, and the disappointment is especially intense on the Israeli right, which supports Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his opposition to Obama’s call for ceasing settlement activity.

Israelis across the political spectrum were skeptical of Obama’s commitment to the Jewish homeland during the presidential campaign but many viewed Emanuel as a guarantor of their interests, the best hope for continuing the U.S. government’s favorable treatment of the Jewish state.

Today, however, widespread unhappiness with their treatment at the hands of the Obama administration has led to feelings of betrayal—and Emanuel is bearing the brunt of it.

Read the story.

Rahm Emanuel is a Transnational Progressive. His sympathies are with the Muslims. He doesn’t like Israel or have any emotional ties to it. Progressives don’t care about their heritage, they are Globalists and follow an agenda. They view the Arabic Imperialist Movement called Islam as an allied force. Rahm supports Iran, Syria, Hamas and Hizballah but not Israel. He’s a Progressive above anything else and he doesn’t care weather he is Jewish, Israeli or American. Progressivism is his identity and he will never go against his Islamic allies.

If Israel was exterminated, Rahm Emanuel would lose no sleep. In fact, he would celebrate. The Transnational Totalitarian Progressive Movement hates Israel and Rahm is no different.
