But…But…But It’s For The Military!

Who’s the greater Fools? The Fools, or the Fools who follow them?
As a Navy Brat, I take my patriotism and love of the United States of America very seriously, as do millions of Americans. But there is one group which wears its patriotism on its sleeve and conjures up imagery which is supposed to convey that they, too, care for our Armed Forces.
Nothing is further from the Truth, and that group is, of course, the Demo☭rat Party. Witness this glorious display near the close of the convention, before the SCOAMF takes to the stage to heal the land and stop the wildfires:

The problem with this photo is: those aren’t American warships. They’re Russian:

The background — featured in the carefully choreographed hour leading up to the president’s Sept. 6 speech accepting the Democratic Party’s nomination — showed four ships with radar designs not used in the U.S. fleet.
For example, the ship in the foreground, on the far right, has a square radar antenna at the top of its masthead. That is the MR-700 Podberezovik 3-D early warning radar, commonly identified as “Flat Screen” for its appearance, a three-dimensional early warning radar mounted on the Kerch, said Eric Wertheim, editor of “Combat Fleets of the World.”
Similarly, the third ship has a MR-310 “Head Net” air search radar, shaped like two off-set bananas, at its masthead and is mostly likely the guided missile destroyer Smetlivyy. The first two ships seem to be Krivak-class frigates, but it’s hard to discern from the silhouette, experts said.
But the fact they are Russian ships is not in doubt. In addition to the ship’s radar arrays and hulls, which are dissimilar from U.S. warships, the photo features one more give-away: a large white flag with a blue ‘X’ at the ships’ sterns.
Polmar, who authored “The Naval Institute Guide to the Soviet Navy,” recognized the blue ‘X’-mark: “The X is the Cross of St. Andrew’s, which is a Russian Navy symbol,” Polmar said. (An anchored U.S. warship, by contrast, flies the American flag on its stern.)
Based on this specific group of these ship types, one naval expert concluded that this was most likely a photo of the Black Sea Fleet.

I’ll bet Ol’ Pooty shed some tears when he got word of this! I am also sad…no, livid…that there are people who continue to be suckered into believing that the Demo☭rat Party, with TOTUS at the head, actually care. They can’t bring themselves to accept the fact that there are two ships in our Fleet named after Presidents they can’t stand.
Which is but one more reason we must vote the SCOAMF and his Demo☭rat henchmen OUT on November 6.

Bizarre, The Only Adjective That Fits The Democrats’ Big Party.

Political Cartoons by Glenn McCoy

Yesterday I wrote about the strange optics of the DNC, and today, I realize that I didn’t really do it justice. It is tough to describe in words just really how bizarre the entire spectacle is. I will concede that Former President, (and thank God we are able to use the description former in this phrase,) Bill Clinton knows how to whip up a crowd and engage his audience while speechifying. The only problem for the Obama campaign is that the fact checkers will have a field day with the whoppers told by Clinton during his incredibly long, self aggrandizing, ultimately back stabbing speech which was ostensibly given to promote the current occupant of the Oval Office. This capping of the day’s events of course followed a line up that has a resume thinner then that of Barack Obama himself, which is something I would have thought impossible.

For years, we have been told by the media and by the Democrats that bigotry against everyone, including puppies and grannies, resided solely in the Republican Party. This, despite the fact that a former grand whatever in the Ku Klux Klan served as a Democrat Senator from West Virginia for over 60 years. When the Democrats released their platform this year, something funny happened, they came right out with language that screamed, we officially hate Jews, and we hate their little homeland too. When a very small group of media types became curious, (Fox News,) and began asking questions, the Democrats spent a whole day claiming the whole thing was simply a mistake, oversight, no big deal really, and then decided to correct the whole thing with an amendment to the platform. Here is what happened.

What you heard, was what I believe to be a full 50% of the delegates in attendance of one of our two major parties’ conventions, affirm that they indeed hate Jews and their little homeland too.

After this, we got a speaking lineup, which usually consists of people who are leaders within the party, or who’s accomplishments place them in the category of up and comers. Barack Obama became a key note speaker in 2004, after having accomplished nothing in his life to that point, and now, 8 years later, his one term in office will always be equated with Clint Eastwood speaking to an empty chair at the RNC. Not wishing to miss that magic, Sandra Fluke was penciled in for a prime time slot. Her only accomplishment to date is becoming famous as a third year law student who can not afford the $9 per month for her contraception. In a statement made in a press conference held by Nancy Pelosi, another of the night’s speakers, staged as a fake congressional hearing, Fluke told the nation’s press that she feels having me pay for her birth control is a basic human right. In the same time slot at the RNC, Niki Haley spoke, she is the Governor of the State of South Carolina. Somehow, according to Sandra, if I fail to cough up the Ten Spot every month so that she can enjoy a consequence free social life, that some how interferes with her, “reproductive rights.” So, to Sandra I have two things to say, use all of the birth control you wish, please, just leave me out of it, which means don’t expect me to pay, which should be my right as a citizen. Next, after seeing your moronic boyfriend on his youtube channel, Georgetown includes a vision plan as a part of their insurance package. Get a pair of glasses, and then when you are able to see him clearly, that will more than suffice as adequate birth control.

Next we got a dose of Cecile Richards, who told us that somehow, being a woman is a pre-existing condition, and that women in general are not treated medically due to insurance companies engaging in some sort of a conspiracy to kill off half of our population, which includes by the way, mothers, daughters, wives, and half of the friends of the insurance executives themselves. Planned Parenthood is one of the great money laundering scams of all time. They claim to provide women’s health services, which by the way they do not. They do not do cancer screenings, mammograms, pap smears, or any medical procedure or test outside of performing abortions. They claim that less than 2% of their funding comes from the federal government, and yet when that funding is threatened, the screams could wake the dead babies which resulted from their operations. Cecile Richards herself receives a Million Bones a year to provide zero services and claim that they do it all. I say, let them exist as a true 501c(3) organization, and live within the letter of that particular section of tax code, which precludes public funding in any form. That way, when Michael Moore and Barack Obama wish to donate to charity, they will have their worthy target. I won’t be forced to donate against my will. During the RNC’s corresponding time slot, Suzanne Martinez, the Governor of the State of New Mexico, spoke to Republican delegates.

Then we got Barney Frank, the man who bears the largest portion of blame for the mortgage meltdown and the housing crisis. He told us how his signature and thankfully last legislative achievement, will prevent banks from engaging in the very activities that he forced them to engage in, in the first place. What he failed to mention was the simple fact that the law exempts the two major culprits, Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac, forced a major consolidation of existing banks to eliminate competition and create even larger versions of the, “too big to fail,” monsters, and did nothing to reign in the disastrous consequences of the Community Reinvestment Act. He also failed to mention that he held continual public hearings to thwart every effort of President Bush when he did attempt to put an end to the farce that indeed caused the crisis. During this time slot at the RNC, Marco Rubio, Senator from Florida gave a rousing speech that was truly inspirational.

Want to be even more scared? The GSE’s like I told you before, still exist in exactly the same form and capability as before the crisis.

Let’s not forget Elizabeth Warren, who’s shtick we’ve heard before. She is a flat out Marxist with such a skewed view of reality that she believes that her having high cheekbones qualifies her as a minority, (one 32nd Cherokee to be precise.) The statement of, “you didn’t build that,’ which has caused every member of the Obama Team to scream you took the Bamster’s statement out of context, originated with a viral speech delivered by Warren earlier this year. It started out as the anthem of liberals everywhere, and was touted in almost every forum, until it was so thoroughly rebutted, about a day later, that it quickly lost steam. With Team Obama contorting their position on this so as to remain Socialists, while at the same time back tracking from this lunacy, it was perplexing to me that they would include Fauxcahontas as a prime time speaker, knowing that she would triple down on this statement. Her speech truly defined bizarre, as she claimed to love success, just that she hated successful people. Class warfare was most prevalent in her speech, which of course is always a winner at the events populated by today’s Democrat Party.

Then we got Bill Clinton, in the spot usually reserved for the Vice Presidential Candidate. He gave a rousing speech which reminisced about his 8 years in office in a manner that would have been great, if only it were a true description of events. Lost in his speech were the small facts that his personal additions to the Community Reinvestment Act were the most damaging and put the teeth into the law that gave Barney Frank the green light to single handedly destroy our economy. He neglected to discuss how his raiding of the Strategic Petroleum Reserves helped to create a particularly bad recession which began just as George Bush took the oath of office in January of 2001. During his glowing recollection of how well the capital markets and investment performed during his 8 years on office, he forgot to mention that much of that investment was made possible by allowing his friends at Goldman Sachs and others to mostly ignore the anti-fraud laws on the books that led up to the dotcom collapse, the Enron collapse, the Worldcom collapse, the Adelphia collapse, and others. This highlights another problem with overbearing regulation, in that those regulations are so inconsistently applied, and there is nothing to suggest that the laws of our land will ever be applied consistently. The speech spanned 51 minutes, and true to Clinton form, contained some real whoppers. Clinton claimed that Democrat Administrations over the last 50 years have produced double the amount of job creation when compared to their Republican counterparts, which is simply too funny to ponder. Jimmy Carter’s term alone would be enough to scuttle that fib, and we still have the economic chaos of the Johnson and Obama Administrations to throw into the mix. The claim that things would have been worse without the heroic leadership of Barack Obama is simply moronic on its face. Enjoy this graph from the Minneapolis Federal Reserve, as a counter to that statement.

By the way, there has been only one mention of climate change so far, out of 80 speeches. In case you have forgotten, the mythical man made climate change has for years been sold to us as the reason we should purposefully destroy our national economy and do away with the free market system that has served us so well for 236 years. (I know that the current meme du jour is that the free market system was responsible for the latest collapse, even though anyone paying attention knows full well that it was our deviation from that system that did the damage.)

The Demo☭rat National Convention festivities have begun…what with ONLY 300 Mohammedans at last Friday’s Jumah. Things are starting to go awry, and the delegates haven’t even taken their seats yet:

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A torrential downpour that struck Charlotte Saturday afternoon damaged the Mount Rushmore-style sand sculpture bust of President Обама — an ominous beginning to what many fear is a plagued convention.
Workers were trying Saturday afternoon to reform the base of the sculpture, built from sand brought in from Myrtle Beach, S.C., pounding and smoothing out the sand that had washed off the facade of the waist-up rendering of the chief executive.
The sand sculpture was protected from above, and Mr. Обама’s face didn’t see too much damage. But the storm was so strong that its heavy winds blew the rain sideways, pelting the president’s right side and leaving the sand pockmarked and completely erasing his right elbow.

I don’t think it’s too far off the mark to state that God does have a sense of humor, which He manifests in the most intriguing ways!

(Cross-posted at Pajamas Media.)

To wrap up my coverage of the Democratic National Convention in Denver on August 25-28, I offer here a compilation of all the lesser marches, the forgotten vignettes, the little scenes that few ever saw.

Despite all the hubbub and furor about the anticipated protests, the truth is that they were mostly very tame. Aside from the one small riot on Monday night (which I accidentally participated in), and a couple of lesser confrontations here and there, not much happened, when you get right down to it. My first urge is to say I’m a bit disappointed in my coverage, but in reality I covered all there was to cover. It’s not my fault that it was a wash-out.

All in all, I’d say ‘68 was not recreated.

I guess the lesson to be learned from this is: Never pre-announce a revolution ahead of time. Because the cops can read the Internet too.

The revolution should not be blogged.

And now let’s peruse a week’s worth of protests and piquant vistas.
The Stoner March

IMG_6021.JPG

On Thursday, the final day of the convention, a coalition of marijuana-legalization groups staged a march to Invesco Field.

IMG_6025.JPG

The event was purportedly to promote the use of “medical” marijuana, but as this sign reveals, that was rather a thin excuse, as well over 90% of the people there were perfectly healthy and just wanted to smoke pot for fun without fear of arrest. (Note stoner dudes in the background.)

IMG_0093.JPG

The leaders of the march asked everyone to specifically not smoke joints during the march. Some obeyed, others did not.

IMG_0072.JPG

Back before the march began, an aging Yippie enlisted several young acolytes to stage an anti-McCain prank. First they held McCain’s picture upside-down…

IMG_0073.JPG

…and then slammed a cream pie into it.

IMG_5980.JPG

Overall, the march was very pro-Obama, since Obama had (according to the march leaders) promised to push for the legalization of medical marijuana; but not everyone was on board with that message.

IMG_6009.JPG

The march was actually one of the largest during the entire convention, as this very foreshortened picture shows. I’d estimate somewhere between 500 and 1,000 pot-heads showed up (though that’s just a wild guess).

IMG_6036.JPG

The crowd was that large partly because a couple of far-left/anti-American groups joined in, such as this one…

IMG_5966.JPG

…and, as always, the parasitical Revolutionary Communist Party.
Justice for Palestine rally

IMG_5767.JPG

Perhaps the biggest flop of the entire convention was the “Justice for Palestine/End the Occupation rally,” scheduled for Wednesday at noon. From the way it was promoted online, I thought there would be a huge crowd, enough to encircle all of Civic Center Park. But when I showed up, it turned out to be a single table staffed by a grand total of five people.

IMG_5765.JPG

They did manage to encircle a bicycle, if not the entire park. But I think this guy’s got as much anger as a whole city full of grouches, so that’s some consolation.

IMG_5819.JPG

Faced with the utter humiliation of attracting zero additional Israel-haters, they decided to tag along on the “Anti-Green-Capitalism Re-education Walk,” incongruous as that may have been.
Spelling B-

Nothing warms the cockles of my heart like seeing people who care about an issue so much that they can’t even spell it properly.

IMG_5764.JPG

“Poitics” are a kind of Hawaiian arachnid that I certainly wouldn’t want infesting my religion.

IMG_5771.JPG

“I-S-R-E-A…” Damn. “I-S-R…” Blink. “Honey, how do you spell that country I hate again?”

“Israel. I-S-R-A-E-L.”

“Ah, OK. Thanks!”

IMG_5951.JPG

“Dude, you, like, missed a letter or something.”

“Too late now, man, I already got ‘em all in a row.”

IMG_4924.JPG

When you misspell your own Web address, maybe it’s time to give it a rest for a while. Relax. Take a break.
The Falun Gong March

IMG_4692.JPG

One of the first scheduled protest marches of the convention was put on by Falun Dafa, better known as Falun Gong, the (depending on whom you ask) meditation practice/religion/spirituality/cult/philosophy based on the principles of qi gong. The absolutely perfect regimentation of their marching band was a marvel to behold, especially considering the sloppy, anarchic nature of every other march.

IMG_4632.JPG

They had prepared for the march with a mass meditation session in Civic Center Park.

IMG_4725.JPG

The procession featured the magical Falun-Gong-mobile, which moved forward at the exact right pace and steered itself even though there appeared to be no driver. I can only assume it was driven by remote control, or had a secret helmsman hidden inside — either that, or it moved solely on the power of meditation!

IMG_4714.JPG

It featured a colorful array of swastikas — the Buddhist good luck kind, not the Nazi kind.

IMG_4969.JPG

The Falun Gong folks also put on far and away the most effective bit of street theater of the entire convention, with an evil Chinese doctor extracting the organs of a hapless Falun Gong prisoner, and then selling them on the black market.

IMG_4728.JPG

The procession moved forward with flawless military precision, enough to make even a Marines bandmaster weep with joy.

IMG_4730.JPG

Some practitioners tried to attract the attention of some passing MSM honchos, to no avail.

IMG_4760.JPG

They also had the best banners. The Chinese government has labeled Falun Gong not just a “cult” but an “evil cult” (or should that be “eeeeeeeevil cult”), as if this would convince us in the West that their repression of Falun Gong was justified. The Chinese government apparently still hasn’t grasped the concept of “freedom of religion,” such that — in America — even “cults” are allowed to practice freely.

IMG_4772.JPG

We finally arrived at the legendary “Freedom Cage,” only to find it completely empty — a tiny, abandoned, isolated parking lot. It was this experience which convinced me that the Freedom Cage was hardly even worth visiting any further, much less worth reporting on.
Anti-Abortion Teenagers

IMG_4742.JPG

At one point, while on my way to the “Freedom Cage,” I ran into the famous anti-abortion teenagers, engaged in one of their many street actions, pinning flowers to a fence to commemmorate all the aborted babies.

IMG_4747.JPG

One of the boys had an Obama campaign shirt, which he had modified to read “Obama the baby killer” and “Obama wants you dead.” The girl on the right might be the same girl who was later arrested for writing anti-abortion messages, but I’m not entirely sure.

IMG_4751.JPG

They also chalked Obama/abortion messages all over the route that the delegates take to go to the Pepsi Center.
Anti-Green-Capitalism

IMG_5885.JPG

Wednesday saw the “Anti-Green-Capitalism Re-education Walk,” which promoted the notion that “green” capitalism (or “the green economy”) was a fraud, one especially promoted by the Democrats and Al Gore. Of all the marches at the convention, this is the one I agreed with the most (not saying much, but still…), since it focused on the utter hypocrisy of the Democratic Party accepting countless millions of dollars from polluters to fund the convention (and their campaigns), and then trying to wallpaper over the cognitive dissonance with various unfeasible “green” schemes.

IMG_5893.JPG

Along with the Stoner March, this was also one of the biggest protests of the week.

IMG_5877.JPG

We paraded through Denver and stopped at the headquarters of various corporations that donate to the Democrats and which also are documented polluters, where our tour guide would give brief lectures on the donors’ corporate crimes.

IMG_5845.JPG

We even passed the Brown Palace, an historic Denver hotel; I thought this would be the perfect moment for the police to test out the “Brown Note,” but my hopes were dashed and we escaped unsoiled.
“Levitating” the Denver Mint

On Monday, Recreate 68 held a street theater performance called “Shake Your Money-Maker,” in which the participants would “levitate” the Denver Mint, in order to liberate the money inside.

I attended the event, but for security reasons I subsequently decided to quash my report about it, for the safety of myself and others, due to unpleasantries that occurred.

The only photos I feel safe posting are the few shown here that I took after the unpleasantness and after other people’s videocameras stopped rolling.

IMG_5027.JPG

This is Mark Cohen, co-leader of Recreate 68, dressed up as a wizard who led the levitation ritual. Dressing up as a wizard is always a good way to make a political point.

IMG_4987.JPG

Since the event was permitted, the police and feds were fully prepared for any eventuality — several layers of defensive lines ensured no actual money was going to be “liberated” from anywhere.

IMG_4988.JPG

This anarchist did some very, very important surveillance of the oppressors.
More “Freedom March”

IMG_4851.JPG

I filed a “preliminary” mini-report about Monday’s “Freedom March,” but I never got around to making the full report, so the handful of extra pictures here will have to make do. The march was to protest the incarceration of political prisoners. In other countries, that means anyone who has been imprisoned solely due to his or her political beliefs; but in America, “political prisoner” simply means any criminal who embraces communism or some variant of Marxism while in jail, and then, as a reward, left-wing lawyers will devote their careers to getting the criminal out of prison. And if they fail — hey, every revolution needs martyrs, right?

IMG_4864.JPG

Mumia abu Jamal is the prototypical example. Leonard Peltier is also a perennial favorite at these shindigs. Note the kaffiyeh — appropriate attire for all occasions!

IMG_4857.JPG

“By any means necessary” is their credo. The whole point behind getting all those violent criminals out of jail is so they can eventually lead the overthrow of the U.S. government by force. Or at least so goes the theory (that the public isn’t supposed to know about).
Homo Sex Is Still Sin.

IMG_4887.JPG

Holy cow, here come the “Homo Sex Is Sin” guys again. This time they’ve stationed themselves in the 16th Street Mall in the heart of downtown Denver.

IMG_4937.JPG

Dozens of officers were required to separate them from the delegates and the tourists, causing a massive traffic jam.

IMG_4898.JPG

Even the mounted police were summoned. It was quite a show for those who had missed much of the action down at the Civic Center.

IMG_4926.JPG

As expected, vituperative arguments broke out.

IMG_4933.JPG

A girl in a kaffiyeh was aghast at the Christians’ statements.

IMG_9835.JPG

Adding to the surrealism of the scene, a guy with one eye stood watch in the background.
Vignettes

IMG_5307.JPG

Code Pink prowled the streets in their Hypocrisymobile, a GMC Acadia, which gets 16 mpg in the city. But, don’t you see, it’s not really hypocritical, because Code Pink’s environmental errands are more important than your meaningless errands.

IMG_5931.JPG

There was an “immigration” themed march on Thursday morning, which I only caught the tail end of; but if this sign from the front of the march is any indication, it was more about the reconquista than about immigration. Translated into English, the sign reads, “Government! Oppressor! You are the invader,” with a map of pre-1846 all-inclusive Mexico.

IMG_5822.JPG

Just stop all funding of everything, period. That’ll fix it.

IMG_5917.JPG

A street artist offered up an interesting juxtaposition of themes; The Black Panthers, Al-Qaeda-in-Iraq, and Barack Obama. Oooo-kay…moving right along…

IMG_5740.JPG

During the EMILY’s List Gala, The Sheraton posted a security guard in a hijab at the front door. Interesting.

IMG_5988.JPG

Do not ask me to explain this sign, because I have no idea what it meant.

IMG_0102.JPG

Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul — together at last!

IMG_5916.JPG

The devil is in the details: every political group tries to impose their values on others; the key is, which values?

IMG_5392.JPG

The reason Nancy Pelosi is so hated by many on the far left is that she failed to get George Bush impeached.

IMG_5451.JPG

A parting message.
