With a side dish of surreptitious Serb-bashing, as is usual for the mainstream media.

Bill Dorich Responds To ‘Two U.S. Citizens from Bosnia Held in Wartime Killings’

William Dorich

April 14, 2011
Letter to the Editor
Los Angeles Times:

In your article, Two U.S. Citizens from Bosnia Held in Wartime Killings, the Times once again reveals the ugly ‘partisan press’ that your newspaper perpetrate throughout the Bosnian Civil War when these pages never published one single article during the breakup of former Yugoslavia that was written by a Serbian journalist, author, scholar or political leader. Your one-sided reporting has been contemptible.

Your so-called journalist, Stephen Ceasar is equally culpable of a lack of ethics and morals. If these were two Serbs accused of these war crimes the headline would have surely screamed SERBS! But because these alleged killers are Muslims your reporter and this newspaper hoodwink your readers leaving the obvious conclusion that these two criminals are Serbians.

Your reporter knows full well the identity of these monsters but like the Times lap dog he grovels at the feet of some sick editor who continues his campaign to paint Serbs with collective guilt – a pox on all of your houses. Your subscribers deserve to read the facts and the truth and determine for themselves if the identity of the accused deserve protection by a major metropolitan newspaper. Shame on the Times.

Do I expect this letter to appear on your pages? I am not that stupid or gullible. But it will be published on every Serbian website around the world to expose the Los Angeles Times’ continued ugly and irresponsible display of yellow journalism.

Howard Zinn, author of ‘People’s History’ and left-wing historian, dies at 87 in California

The godfather of Progressivism was no more a historian then I am a gynecologist.  He was a neo Marxist propagandist who wrote a stupid illiterate book with absolutely no footnotes which every lefty (including Matt Damon) claims is as brilliant as anything Edward Gibbons ever wrote. If anyone ever has the strength to actually go to a bookstore and peruse his book, it is standard leftist, Marxist political cant. The sad thing is that too many students are assigned to read that drivel which is more fit for bathroom reading. I am sure that the young Barry Soetero read the book.

Howard Zinn, an author, teacher and political activist whose leftist “A People’s History of the United States” became a million-selling alternative to mainstream texts and a favorite of such celebrities as Bruce Springsteen and Ben Affleck, died Wednesday. He was 87.

Zinn died of a heart attack in Santa Monica, Calif., daughter Myla Kabat-Zinn said. The historian was a resident of Auburndale, Mass.

Published in 1980 with little promotion and a first printing of 5,000, “A People’s History” was — fittingly — a people’s best-seller, attracting a wide audience through word of mouth and reaching 1 million sales in 2003. Although Zinn was writing for a general readership, his book was taught in high schools and colleges throughout the country, and numerous companion editions were published, including “Voices of a People’s History,” a volume for young people and a graphic novel

“I can’t think of anyone who had such a powerful and benign influence,” said the linguist and fellow activist Noam Chomsky, a close friend of Zinn’s. “His historical work changed the way millions of people saw the past.”

At a time when few politicians dared even call themselves liberal, “A People’s History” told an openly left-wing story. Zinn charged Christopher Columbus and other explorers with genocide, picked apart presidents from Andrew Jackson to Franklin D. Roosevelt and celebrated workers, feminists and war resisters.

Even liberal historians were uneasy with Zinn. Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr. once said: “I know he regards me as a dangerous reactionary. And I don’t take him very seriously. He’s a polemicist, not a historian.”

————————————–

“A People’s History” had some famous admirers, including Matt Damon and Affleck. The two grew up near Zinn, were family friends and gave the book a plug in their Academy Award-winning screenplay for “Good Will Hunting.” When Affleck nearly married Jennifer Lopez, Zinn was on the guest list.

————————————–

Oliver Stone was a fan, as well as Springsteen, whose bleak “Nebraska” album was inspired in part by “A People’s History.” The book was the basis of a 2007 documentary, “Profit Motive and the Whispering Wind,” and even showed up on “The Sopranos,” in the hand of Tony’s son, A.J.

The People’s Historian Is History…

I keep a short list of people whose obituaries I intend to enjoy thoroughly when available.

Tommorrow, I will enjoy Howard Zinn’s.

L.A. Times interview with Nancy Johnson – rev 0.0

Please note: this is satire. This is only satire. And as a point of background, on a thread in the past week where we were discussing Nancy’s inexplicable defense of Kevin Jennings, the “safe schools” czar famous for his efforts to teach school children various “safe sex” practices including “safe fisting”, reader Dopelganger coined the mocking name “Loves a Good Fisting”. In general, any spicy language in this piece is in one way or another a reference to something once said at the 1.0 place.

I happened to be down in LA behind the LA Times building this weekend, and couldn’t resist a good dumpster dive. Well, lo and behold. When Savage did a thread on the final version of the story, little did he realize how much editing went into it. Here is the original version, before the editors did their thing:

Screw it. Instead I’ll just post some pictures of a few DICKS:
